Yay, it's another interlude!
Now, we are going to address a bit how Pru feels about Sophie leaving. Which is pretty self-explanatory as the story goes.
The legalities: I do not own any of the Leverage franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au. Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!
Hope you enjoy!
Prudence Beck was never one for admitting that she was unsure how something would go. That is, she wasn't one of those type of people until she was recruited to join Leverage Consulting and Associates, or Leverage, Ince, as she called it. In the more than a year since Alec Hardison had convinced her to join, Pru had found herself admitting (to herself mostly) that any one of Nate Ford's hair-brained plans could turn sour at any given moment. It was exhausting.
Most of the time, however, she had the best back-up in the form of Sophie Devereaux. Especially when it came to keeping Nate in touch with what actually needed to be done. The grifter and the manager were usually able to play off of each other and keep the rest of the crew in line.
As her ringtone cut through her thoughts, Pru sighed before looking down at her phone and grinning. She picked up. "Let me guess, you're calling from somewhere beautiful and sunny?"
She heard a wry chuckle before a British accent hit her ears. "Try grey and rainy."
"Ah, so how's London otherwise?"
"Almost a balm to my soul. The team working on any new cases?"
Pru scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Soph, do I need to remind you that you left in an attempt to try and find yourself? You really don't need to be worrying or keeping track of the team."
She heard the grifter sigh heavily before speaking again. "I know, but it's hard to just leave it."
"Like the six months before we came to Boston?"
"Exactly."
Pru smirked before her face fell and she sighed. "You know, Soph, I don't know how the next job is going to go. None of the rest of the team are super confident on the grift, and I'm not going out in the field right now."
Sophie chuckled. "I'm sure that you all will be just fine. I really was just calling to check in. But I miss you and will talk to you later."
"Alright, Soph. Talk to you later." Pru sighed as she hung up the phone. "We miss you way more than you know."
