Separatist attack! After the destruction of the Republic outpost on the Rishi moon, General Grievous and Asajj Ventress plan an attack on the planet Kamino, home of the cloning factories. Meanwhile, aboard a Jedi cruiser, Jedi Knights Kird Wossaun along with Domino squad examine an intercepted message from General Grievous.
The Kaminoan Star was in the outer rim of the reluctance sector making their speedy getaway as they raided a sensor planet called Groanas before separatist patrol ships came back to report their daily patrols, A routine mission all things considered but this particular raid manage to get something even more vital then just regular troop movement and supply shipments.
They found a series of codes that unlocked high priority messages from Asajj Ventress and General Grievous. Kird sent these codes to his team of code breakers. After some testing and referencing the codes they previously broke they sent what they found to the main com panel where Kird and domino squad stared at the monitor as another clone began to decrypt the message.
'We are decrypting the audio, sir' The hologram of the hooded figure can be seen, although she didn't reveal her, Kird knew it was Asajj Ventress, he recognized that voice anywhere.
'The clone planet of Kamino will be a dangerous target' Asajj hologram now changes to General Grievous.
'Just make sure you hold up your half of the mission, we must stop the production of new clones
'If we are to win this war' There was a deep silence, the separatist were going to attack not only Kird home, but also all the clones. After the moment of silence Kird then looks towards the clone in front of him.
'Set a course to Kamino, disa war got a whole lot personal' The clone saluted Kird before going back into the station to press in the codes. The destination is now set for Kamino. As the hyperspace crew was making their coordinated jumps to hyperspace. They spotted some familiar codes and ships that saved Kird and Domino squad hides when they sent in two notable clones to check up on the station.
'Sir we are detecting familiar readings should I patch you through.' The radio operator questioned. Kird nodded.
'Patch them through. Where we are going I have a hunch that this isn't just an invasion. Especially when the Sith are involved' The radio operator acknowledged the order and patch Kird through. When the holograms made visual on the com network. Kird and the Domino squad were pleasantly surprised on seeing familiar faces.
'Jedi master Anakin and Obi Wan. It's good to see yous faces again' Kird said bowing politely Obi wan and Anakin bowed as well.
'Good to see you too, Kird' Anakin replied.
'Mesa've just intercepted a transmission dat is vital for dha republic to win disa war, as well as mak it personal for yous boyos on board, have a listen'
Kird nodded at the radio operator as he transmission the message his code-breakers decoded to Anakin and Obi wan. As well as Cody and Captain Rex who were at the bridge at the time. Listening and watching the message play through. Looking all the more grim as they hear more of the message play out.
'Kamino' Was Anaikan's response as the transmission ended.
'They're going to attack our home planet' Captain Rex said out loud not knowing that the com operating table managed to get them on as well.
'Captain Rex it's good to see yousa again' Captain Rex nodded, not surprised at Kird addressing him. Kurds comms were surprisingly a lot more efficient than the rest of the republic comms managing to get the entire crew on the bridge but only if they received voice recognition.
'Good to see you too general, though I wish it was in better circumstances' Rex replied. Remembering all the times he meets Kird is always on the battlefield or some stealth mission they had to repeal like their first meeting during the outpost where they first meet. Usually ends with something exploding.
'The separatists are taking quite the chance even considering this' Obi-Wan voiced his thoughts aloud to keep the meeting on track. Kird nodded and added in his input.
'Indeed, dat's why wesa head home along with as many vessels as wesa can gather' The Jedi generals nodded with Rex standing up straight ready for battle.
'With all due respect, Generals, if someone comes to our home, they better be carrying a big blaster' Kird smiled seeing that Rex hasn't changed one bit.
'I concur with Captain Rex, sir. This is personal for us clones' Cody said his transmission popping up on the com of Kirds ship. Kird nodded, adding in the clones' sentiment.
'I expect no less, looks like The 501st, The 212th and The Grenadiers are coming home' The clones saluted and the Jedi generals wished Kird luck on getting to Kamino with all speed.
As the transmission was cut. Kird looked at the ship's viewport watching the ship go into hyperspace. Thinking about how the Domino squad will feel when they make it back to Kamino. As well as Clone 99 and his Master would think about when he meets him again after all these years of battle.
'General Grievous' Armada of ships were gathering close together as well as some other ships they were going to be used during the operation. Looking over the reports of the gathering of ships. As well as gathering some bloodlust that he'll join in on the operation underground rather than just watching his ships exchange fire. He received a transmission from the Asajj Ventress being all the more annoyed that they are going to go over the plan again. But perked up that this wasn't a repetition report but a status report instead.
'All is ready, General' Came the Sith assassin
'Good, we will attack Tipoca City first' Was General grievous command about priority targets.
'I have the exact locations of both the clone DNA room and the clone trooper barracks' Asajj made sure that the general wouldn't go into an angry fit like last time against some mercenaries who got their orders switched up at the last moment.
'Both shall be annihilated under my hand' Going off his many glories that he'll win for the separatist.
'Our hands, General, Count Dooku assigned us both this task' Asajj pointed out. Reigning in Grievous as to show him that they are both in charge and will share in their failures if the mission goes south.
'But of course, assassin, I look forward to meeting you' Grievous said sarcastically.
Not trusting Dooku's pet to pull in her own weight. Still remembering that Dooku sent in a pair of Jedi to kill him at his own home. He pondered on how he can make an "accident" so he won't be replaced so soon. Cutting the transmission. Asajj knows full well what the general is planning. Since she is also making her plans to dump him at some clones at first opportunity.
'Are the aqua droids prepared for phase two of the plane?' She said getting the droid attention making doubly sure that everything is going to plan.
'Yes mistress' was the report the droid operator said to her.
Asajj looked out at the view port of her vessel looking around the sea, noticing there were little to none vessels reporting at the sea. She smiled that such an obvious weak spot at the Kaminos ocean would be allowed to continue like this. Such is the weakness of this corrupted republic and the continued glory of Asajj Ventress.
Both The Venator and The Kaminoan Star landed on the Kamino clone facility where Jedi master Shaak Ti was stationed to monitor the clones' training. Shaak Ti walked along beside her, and was the main scientist of the clone, Lama Su. The two were first to meet Jedis, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and her once Padawan Kird. Behind them were Captain Rex, Commander Cody and The Domino squad. Behind them were a massive army of both, the 212th, 501st, and The Grenadiers
'Masters Kenobi, Skywalker, welcome to Kamino' Shaak Ti then looks back at Kird and gives a gentle smile.
'Welcome back my Padawan' Kird simply nodded. Kird returned the gesture.
'Greetings, Generals' Lama Su said.
'I wish our arrival wasn't under such circumstances, we believe Grievous is planning a Separatist attack on Kamino' Obi-Wan simply stated.
'But the Republic blockade is far too strong, they would not dare' Lama Su said not believing that the separatists would so brazenly attack Kamino willingly accepting the cost of attacking.
'Mesa'm afraid yousa're underestimat dha willingness dat General Grievous would gos through to inflict a bleed on us' Kird said correcting Lama Su on fully believing that a simple blockade would dissuade the mad general grievous.
'I'm more worried about Asajj Ventruss joining this invasion, knowing the Sith, there is more to what a simple invasion would be' Shaak Ti looked grim at her former Padawan displaying the news. But steeled herself for the upcoming battle. Believing in the force, three regiments are located here at Kamino with ships coming in to reinforce the blockade. To prepare for any Sith plot that would be happening at Kamino.
Fives and Echo were now walking down the Hallways like they used to take a trip down memory lane. From the time they were cadets to shinnies and now. Breathing in the air they once called home.
'Look around, Fives, feels like yesterday we were here' Echo said understating the amount of time they were gone. Or it was actually a couple of months they were gone. Their troops and other clones were getting concerned about the time tables they were using because the time is getting a bit weird. Echo thoughts were interrupted looking at the cadets that were walking off near them.
'Heading for target practice' Fives laughed, joining in the nostalgic memory of their time here at Kamino. They continued walking until they saw someone very familiar that was carrying a lot of blaster rifles and dropping them from carrying a lot more rifles then what was necessary.
'Hey , 99!' came the call from echo. 99 perked up and saw that his brothers managed to return home safe.
'Echo! Fives!' was the reply 99 gave standing up to address the two rather than picking up the guns he dropped.
'You actually remember us?' Fives said surprised that 99 actually recognize them even after all of this time when it's only been a year he thinks. He might be getting the solar days and galactic calendar mixed up.
'I remember all my brothers' 99 said with a smile. Looking at the two and remembering about giving something he must give back.
'Is Hevy here? Where's he?' Echo and Five looked at each other trying to find the strength to say that Hevy might be on the other side of the city but their thoughts were interrupted by a voice.
'Right here 99' Hevy said. The two looked back pleasantly surprised that Hevy made it here when he was assigned to the heavy brigade. Even more surprised that Kird was with him.
'Hevy, and Kird' 99 said getting a Hug from Kird and Heavy picking up the stack of rifles with one hand. As Kird and 99 finished their hug. 99 chuckled.
'You two grew big, even got more heavy, Hevy' Kird rubbed the back of his head while Hevy tapped at his new armor smiling.
'Me and the boys thought that our regular armor wasn't durable, during the incident at the Rishi moon outpost, almost got the sarge but Kird saved him in the end' Hevy said giving the stack of guns to a clone that was escorting their own cadets and handed it off to him.
'A story for another time I'm afraid, our home is going to be under attack soon' Kird said, giving all of the clones some grim faces but stiffened up. Especially 99 who gripped on the medal that he was going to give back.
'I see, I suppose I should give this to you later then' 99 said, holding out the medal for all to see.
'You gave him your medal, Hevy?' Fives question Heavy who only nodded. Then went down to 99 level and picked up the medal and placed it on his chest.
'Thank you for returning it to me 99' Hevy standing up and nodded to fives who nodded in return realizing both have a friendship that those two have. Until 99 stood up ready for battle to return the favor.
'What can i do to help' was 99 proclamation in joining the fight. The four standing around 99 smiled As their old friend wanted to help in their defense in Kamino. Thinking up ways for 99 to help.
On the exosphere of the Planet of Kamino, The Republic blockade was there, along with Anakin ship and Kird ships for backup. As the backup was placed in formation, The Serpertist ship jumped out of hyperspace ready to fire at command. At the command center General Grievous stood up from his chair and gave a command.
'Attack formation Echo-3' The Command Droid nodded.
'Status?' The Droid asked.
'Deflector shields raised' The B1 said.
'Destroyers in position' Another B1 added.
'Forward cannons ready'
'Landing craft prepared'
They all said Grievous walking forward to prepare for the first phase of the plan.
'All ships are in position.' Was the final check given from the Command droid.
'Commence attack' Grievous said, giving the Separatist ships began to fire upon the republic ship, The Republic began to fire back. The clone then approaches Commander Yularen.
'The Separatist fleet is pressing their attack, sir'
'Contact command at Tipoca City' Yularen said.
Down below Tipoca City alarms were ringing sending the troops below to their stations as well as pilots moving in good speed to their fighters. A particular pilot known for making daring counter attacks was Anakin Skywalker jumping in his favored starship. R2 was at the controls getting the ship to warm up for them to speed off into the fight. Anakin jumped in at the pilot control deck turning on the starship and sped off to the atmosphere along with three Y-bombers following to unleash their payloads at the invaders.
At the control room. The rest of the command staff of this invasion as well as the Jedi Masters and Lama Su all oversaw the battle in space giving commands and orders for them to relay the battle.
'Shore up the defenses' Came Commander Cody who the rest of the command staff obeyed relaying the command. For their Ships at the sky
'The fleet is not as large as I expected' Came Shaak Ti analysis of the fleet. Kird noticed this as well so turned his sights to see if this was a flanking attack or distraction from a separatist fleet to slip by their defenses. As Kird was pondering this, Shaak Ti gave the order to commence the attack.
Up above in space. Anakin served as a rallying point for the fighters from below to begin their attack in earnest.
'Good to see you, General. Ready to have some fun?' Came Anakin's wing man for this mission.
'You know me, Broadside, I'd rather be up here than stuck in a command center' Anakin quips about being in the frontline rather than staying behind with his master.
With a boost he rallied the other fighters all forming a fighter screen ready to do their bombing run. The battle now begins earnestly with fighter squadrons escorting the bombers to unleash their payloads, getting some fighters clipped by the pursuing fighter squadrons and the point defense cannons of the cruisers in space. But not as much as the separatist likes as their pursuing fighters were shot by another squad aiming to assist with the bombing run allowing for their payload to go through hitting the transports that was identified as potential invasion.
Ships from both sides were slugging it out with cannon volley having pieces of each ship blowing apart their armor sending the wreckage in space. But curiously all of the space wreckage from the separatist ships were all hurtling towards the planet below. Those at the common station watched as the automated debris landed a good feet away from the city and into the oceans below hearing the warning sign from the automated voice in the console.
'Grievous appears to be sacrificing his transports, in favor of protecting his common ship' Shaak Ti gave her thoughts on the matter. Obi Wan nodded but had a bad feeling about this.
'Something not right' Kird nodded but didn't say more on the matter for Obi Wan already given it. Instead he sends in orders for their skirmishers and craft to prepare for an underwater battle aiming to patrol where the debris from below is going. Deep underwater Asajj saw the reinforcements coming from the sky crashing down into the ocean. Sailing towards the wreckage with their squid combat ship made specifically for this mission.
'Reinforcements have arrived' Came the call of the B1 battle droid to tell it's time.
'Send out the aqua droids to assemble the assault craft' Asajj gave the order now starting the preparation of phase two of the plan.
As the battle in space rages on. Anakin gave orders to the bombers to focus on the cruisers sending more of the debris down below to the planet surface. All falling a bit too conveniently close to each other and landing close to the cities. Anakin relayed his order that he is going to press the attack on the ships.
'No, Anakin. Wait! It's too easy, not even Grievous would attack so recklessly' Obi-Wan said now looking at Kirds calculations and Zone of danger he highlighted on the main console relaying orders and troop movement to prepare for an invasion in the ocean.
'Master, the battle's up here in space, not down there.' Anakin gives his counter argument.
'The debris from the destroyed Separatist ships is the key' Obi-Wan said to his coms looking over at Kird who came to the same conclusion as he did and smiled. Shaak Ti, not getting the clues, asked what the two were thinking.
'I think I'd like to go for a swim.' Obi-Wan said, getting ready to head out into the oceans of Kamino.
Under the water of Tipoca City, Obi-Wan began to descend deeper into the ocean with a small submarine, Kird was there too, but was outside. Thanks to his biology, his race is able to breathe underwater but he made sure to bring a few Scuba troopers and Torpedo boats from the Kamino garrison modified to his legion just in case they needed back up. Both Kird and Scuba troopers hold on to the Torpedo boats as it guides them. Obi-Wan then activated his coms.
'Nothing as of yet' Obi-Wan said.
'Only you could be worried about the ships, I already shot down' Anakin said. But then Obi-Wan and Kird noticed something in the distance.
'Wait a minute!' In Front of them were Aqua Droids in the process of creating something.
'Aqua droids! It looks as though they're assembling assault craft! Anakin, I was right! Those downed transports were hiding ships for an underwater assault, Anakin, come in!' Suddenly one of the Aqua Droids spotted them and pointed them out.
'Hold it right there! Do not move!' The Aqua Droid commanded before it found himself crushed into a square.
Obi-Wan frowned at that before activating the reverse controls on the ship. But one droid crushed only made the other aqua droids making the assault craft kick into action and charged at the submarine trying to break the windows and thrusters of the craft. Kird tried as he might to crush the droids with force but he could only do so one at the time not having the proper grounding to throw the wreckage at the droids in the sea. He hasn't had any proper practice to do so and the few troops he brought with him were desperately trying to shoot at the Aqua Droids but they were too fast swarming obi wan.
The Aqua droids that remained behind further back swarmed forward shooting their blaster shots and charged at the torpedo boats as they identified the ship model as a torpedo model and would delay the assault if those missiles were launched. With limited options he kneels down onto the Torpedo boat then launches him which lands onto Obi-Wan boar. Igniting his lightsaber he began cutting down the droids while also deflecting their shots. The Droids were now off of Obi-Wan boat, with few droids tailing behind them. Even worse news the damage to Obi-Wan was severe, the damage to the window caused the water to leak in, with no other choice Obi-Wan ejected out of his boat then grab on to Kird as he began to swim upwards. Kird knew Obi-Wan couldn't last long underwater so he needed to get grabbed onto a ship quickly.
Luck would shine upon them when Kird saw a herd of Ai wha, animals native to the Kamino. So he swam faster and luckily he grabbed onto the last one of the Ai wha, which then flew into the air giving Obi-Wan a chance to breathe. Kird looked back to see if there were any survivors and to his relief there were as he saw Obi-Wan behind him as well as DroidBait and Cutup surfaced with their jetpacks giving a thumbs up and salute that the torpedo boats launched their salvos and bugged out with Clip before the counter attack happened. Obi-Wan, now able to breath, stood up and patted the Ai wha.
'Thanks for the lift, friend' Both now look towards Tipoca city, horrified when they see multiple large squid-like machines jumping out of the ocean and onto the clone factory. Obi-Wan then activated his comms.
'Anakin, the city is under attack! I need you down here now!' Obi-Wan yelled into his comms as well as Kird ordering his Grenadiers to battlestations as his personal guard flanked the beast as they both charged in to defend their home.
'On my Way!' Anakin said he then left the battlefield and began to fly back.
At the Hanger clones from all walks were rushing to their battle stations at the hanger preparing for the boarding party that is going to come as orders rushed from the command staff on potential locations of the assault parties are going to land. The hanger being one of them. One of the Arc Troopers who was leading the defense of the hanger watched as clones move to their positions all except three.
He personally called the three because they are the most experienced in dealing with droids who are overwhelming in number, being victorious over every fight. As the alarm blared he saw the three known as Echo, Fives and Hevy all running up to him. Both Echo and Fives were wearing their standard clone trooper gear but Hevy was lugging his favorite rotary blaster looking to be a lot more bulkier than the rest of his clone brethren with the brigade's insignia at the chest plate. As the three made it to the commander they stood up straight ready to receive orders.
'Sir, you sent for us' Echo asked. Still not shaking his insistence for orders to be repeated but his comrades didn't care as they needed a repeat of the order anyways.
'It's a dangerous assignment, but I want you three up on that bridge in sniper positions and to lay down suppressive fire.' The Arc Trooper commanded. Echo and Five stood up tall and nodded while Hevy hefted his gun ready to carry the big thing around.
'Yes sir we're on it' Echo said acknowledging the order and bolting to the designated positions marked on their map. Leaving the commander of the hanger who was making quick calculations on setting up troops in the best positions. For the invaders to be repealed.
On top of the doomed structures were the Squid Droid Transport ships all moving on top of Tipoca City and around the hangars trying to find the best spots to invade. As the tension inside the hanger builds as the blast doors of the hanger were shutting down. The arc trooper in command signaling his men to wait for the right possible moment. The Squid Droid spun its drill ramming inside the blast doors breaking it apart and tearing its hinges open scattering the doors all over the hanger.
The clone troopers fired but they were too inexperienced to know that they had to wait for the transports to open to unleash their payload for maximum effect. A fact made well known as some of the troopers moved in too close and were knocked back by the squid tentacles knocking them out of the fight as well as breaking some of the clones' backs from hitting the wall behind them. Clearing the way for the payload of Aqua droids to come out all lined up like they were in the factory came out and dropped to the floor all landing ready for battle.
Then getting shot by clones who lined up in a firing line shooting down the invading force before they got a chance to attack in earnest. As the clones were shooting they didn't realize the first invasion was a distraction attempt and saw another drill piercing through the hanger dropping it's payload of Aqua droids all landing in perfect unison and opening fire taking down clones as they march forward while being cut down from walking forward taking blaster shots but not being cut down enough as the droids gathered into a single point marching forward using much more accurate aim than their contemporaries as they starting to push through the defensive line. The single point being grievous as he marched forward feeling much more glee being down at the clone trooper home to deal death with his mechanical hands.
'Kill them all!' Was Grievous' command which fell on deaf ears as the droids are already following the mission parameters set by their programmers.
More and more of the Squid Ships were piercing in through the city causing more damage inside of the city breaking apart the clone tube facilities as they broke apart from the top all collapsing down to the floor. Taking many along with them. On the roof tops the garrison units were doing much better as they decided to stand and fight in the open rather then retreat into higher ground getting overwhelmed by the Aqua droids sheer numbers but not dying as fast yet as the Aqua droids prefer to take careful aim with the support from the squid droids who slammed their claws knocking several of the clones down from the sheer concussion wave alone. As the assault was making good headway Asajj Ventress jumped out of her assigned squid transport jumping down to start her mission.
Back at the Hanger. 99 was doing what he knows best, giving out grenades and guns to the troops who were fighting at the hanger Until he found the Arc trooper in command who was holding an injured clone dragging him to safety. The Arc trooper was shocked that 99 was here supporting his brothers on the battlefield rather than heading to safety with the rest of the cadets.
'99 get out of here' The arc trooper ordered before getting shot for his troubles falling down to his side breathing hard from the sheer blast that the aqua droid put out. 99 threw away the guns he was carrying and held the Arc trooper by the arm ready to pull him out of danger but was stopped by the Arc trooper.
'This is no place for you' He pleaded before being shot by a blaster bolt killing him instantly.
99 shocked that this is his real battle but instincts kicked in, grabbing the arc troopers pack, grabbing it and carrying it in his arms. He looked back once before running to where the other three of the domino squad were stationed. Remembering they yelled where they were going to 99 as they were rushing to their positions and gritting his teeth determined to help and following the Arc trooper last order in honor of his memory.
At the outside Hallways of Kamino Obi-Wan and Anakin paired up and fought against a wave of oncoming Aqua Droids. Kird wasn't there with the two as he split off trying to find an old friend of his hoping his leadership could turn the battle and give Kird a strep about the situation at the inner levels to see if his grenadiers were facing issues. Obi-Wan was running calculations about the amount of droids that were coming and did the math that the droids did not come as an invasion force rather than it's a raiding force to obtain a bigger prize.
'There aren't enough droids here to capture the city, they're trying to distract us' He yelled over deflecting blaster bolts for Anakin to hear. Anakin was deflecting the blaster bolts as well doing two things at once. Listening to Obi-Wan and leading his troops.
'Go protect the DNA chamber, I'll deal with Grievous' Anakin nodded.
'Got it' Making his way to the DNA chambers while Obi-Wan leads the charge to battle Grievous.
Back at the sniper positions. Hevy, Echo, and Fives were having a field day as the Aqua droids were all walking in a single file line getting blasted by Hevy rotary cannon and Fives sharpshooting abilities while Echo just let of a couple of shots trying to aim with his standard issue blaster kicking himself that he didn't join Droidbait and Cutup to get his weapons customized with the pirates. Next time the Aqua Droids were moving at Inefficient ranges for his blaster fire while the Rotary cannon had to switch to burst fire to get the droids far back while Fives continued to pick them off with headshot after headshot.
'Fives, keep firing! We can beat these guys!' Echo said encouraging fives to continue his headshot streak to brag to the boys later. He looked around his surroundings trying to see if there is a better spot to deal with the oncoming reinforcements of the Aqua Droids coming to the battlefield but not faring better of the first wave as their bulky bodies and slow movement speed made them easy 99 lugging a backpack with him.
'99' Echo said as 99 but down the pack of grenades kneeling where Echo was positioned.
'I...I brought you some ammo' was 99 responses to Echo. Fives glanced over before picking off the stragglers of the second wave watching as the third wave broke off and attacked somewhere else. Hevy moved still kneeling to see if 99 was followed by anyone as is clone trooper doctrine as to not have any surprise flanking attacks.
'Is there a better spot than this? A better defensive position we can take?' Seeing that the droids are now avoiding the bridge and are moving to a different venue of attack. Hevy being Vigilant spotted some droids almost coming out of the corner.
'Droids' came Hevy call.
The Droids were startled from recognizing their flanking attempt was spotted and fired their shots off to early misses entirely. Echo instinctively pushed down 99 to cover before trying to take a shot off until he heard a brr as he saw a squad of B1 battle droids cut sideways their gun and half of their torsos falling to pieces. Hevy lifted his gun and blew at it. A tick he picked up despite wearing the helmet which does nothing to cool down the barrel.
'Getting that overdrive feature was the best decision of my life' He commented. 99 smiled and the rest stood up not fearing that the droids were no longer assaulting their position anymore.
'I see being in the grenadiers taught you a few tricks' 99 said, rubbing his head until getting serious as he saw a group of cadets wandering around covering their ears.
'Look cadets' The three nodded and Fives went to greet them, taking a knee and removing his helmet. A silent agreement was reached between the three that fives were better with civilians. Hevy can fill in the role but his is more rough somewhat and was not really considered the first choice.
'Lost your guide?' Fives asked the cadets nodded until one of the cadets stepped up who appeared to be the voice of the group.
'Yes sir, we got separated from our group' Fives nodded.
'We can take you somewhere safe, do you know where too?"
'The barracks' was the quick reply of the leading cadet. 99 mind raced the word barracks came to mind gasping and stepped forward. Realizing that he can help in this endeavor.
'Oh, I know the best way there!'
'Keep firing! No mercy!' Was grievous command as he marched forward having the b1's lead to do the dirt work for him.
He was saving his strength in his inevitable run in with Obi-Wan. Now at the inner halls of Tipoca City managing to catch the arc trooper commander Colt during transit now being pinned with two clones who were holding off an entire b1 wave by themselves but failing as they were too few leaving only a squad of b1's left to oppose commander Colt. Watching as the last of his men he picked up on the way got shot down as he was taking cover in the hallway doorways.
He amped himself up that he'll go down shooting. Getting out of cover and trying to shoot down as many droids as he can in his last stand. He only got two shots before he felt something around his neck getting tight choking him in the air. Gasping for air he felt himself hovering in the air gasping around the invisible force around his neck seeing the Sith assassin Asajj Ventress make her way into the hallway.
He could do nothing but helplessly hold his neck in the air as he watched was being toyed with by the assassin. Asajj then pushed him with the force knocking his helmet off causing some of the b1's to instinctively back away as they picked up that instinct from their service with Grievous. With sadistic glee Asajj activated her lightsaber intending to pull the clone into her blade. Watching as the clone's eyes opened seeing that he was about to die. Both Asajj and Ventress heard something whistle in the air.
Asajj only had a split second to duck as well as Grievous who was surprised and ducked as well seeing the rest of his b1's heads drop to the floor and their bodies as well but not the expected clatter of the flying metal panel as it fly back being cut to ribbons by Grievous lightsabers but not expecting a metal pole to knock him to the ground. Asajj dodged the metal pole that was coming for her and watched as Grievous got hit. She smiled that it was Grievous that got hit and not her but her smile was quickly swiped away as she saw metal vibrant spikes taking swipes at her. She parried the strikes and was about to thrust her blade into the chest of the offending attacker but missed. Now seeing the attacker being a clone wielding metal spiked gauntlets.
She would have smirked that the clone army is undersupplied now that they resorted to melee weapons but somersaulted backwards when she saw torrents of flames trying to catch her. Finishing her somersaulting she managed to get a good look at her attackers. There were three in total but only two were in attack positions as the third moved in and out, carrying off her kill deeper into the hallway. Two of them being clones as their headgear is like the other clone troopers but their color schemes were off as well as their armor. The clone that was engaging her in melee had metal spikes at his arms humming and illuminating in the light.
Almost reminiscent of the Vibroblades of the commando droids they started to issue out. With the color scheme being red with white trimmings but his right shoulder pad being blue with a symbol of a commando droid head. The one standing to the right of him had the white with red trimmings but on his left shoulder pad was colored in yellow with a red fire as its symbol. Both of them pointing their weapons at her in a standoff waiting for the other to make their next move. Until Grievous got up and broke the silence.
'That was a lucky shot clone, this time you won't be so lucky' Grievous said, moving his shoulder around and activating both of his lightsabers. The clones just stared the two down. Then the blue clone began to speak.
'I don't believe in luck. Skill is all that matters' The blue padded clone said. Grievous laughed and wheezed.
'Perhaps a match for the assassin, Clone' Asajj only scoffed and corrected the general.
'Your Jedi may have taught you who to swing a blade. But that hardly makes you my equal' The Clones moved a step to the left and the right, still holding their weapons at them.
'That may be true, but who is really in charge in this oh so brilliant plan of yours' The yellow padded clone said, rolling his head hoping to get the two bicker some more to buy more time and hopefully spilling in information about the true purpose of why the two are here in this raid of theirs. Grievous took the bait but Asajj isn't biting yet.
'I am the General in charge of this assault, unlike this assassin here, my plan goes beyond your simple mind clone' Grievous stomped forward crashing the metal plates and extending his four arms ready to slice these two clones to bits. The Clones shimmy for a bit. They were running out of time themselves to goad them to ask more questions. So they took a gamble. The Yellow padded clone spoke up.
'Oh, do please enlighten us about your plan that our simple clone brain cannot understand, surely you could tell it to us better than our Jedi masters' Grievous laughed and fell for the bait. Asajj would have stopped Grievous but smelled smoke as the hallway panels were slightly ajar seeing them emitting smoke but too directional and tried to sense where this Jedi exactly is so she can cut this Jedi down before any more force tricks were used on the two.
'It's quite simple, the republic has used you as slaves in their army, now it's our turn to make slaves out of you, starting with your DNA' Grievous said Now stepping forward in striking distance between the two offending clones. The clones smiled. They had him. This trick always works with hot headed generals that always spill out their plans. But the more cool headed generals are always more tricky. Requiring their trainers spy and torch to get the information through force and underhanded tactics. Now it's time to make their getaway.
'Why thank you Grievous for telling us about your plan, but I believe it's time to leave, NOW KIRD!' The Blue padded clone yelled out both dashing back with their jets watching as the panels of the hallway pushed open all flying in their air around Grievous. Asajj used the force as well pushing the wall panels down to the flow but didn't expect the smoke to wash all over her messing with her senses.
Grievous on the other hand roared striking at the panels flying towards him as well as charging forward almost hitting the clones legs but missed and caught off guard as they slammed their feet down sliding a bit backwards and charged at him. Surprised, Grievous blocked two strikes but felt him heating up from the flame strike. Shaking off the heat strike he made a swing through the flame at this clone but was impaired hitting the floor then getting hit by smoke being jettison into his face.
Crying out in anger that these warriors are not fighting honorably and getting cut down. He yelled out swinging his blades all over the hallway cutting down panels, walls, and floor getting more smoke to fill the area. Asajj just rolled her eyes sensing the clones were now at the end of the hallway watching the mad general throwing a fit. What she didn't expect however is to see Grievous be flown back landing right next to her on his back. Seeing him cough violently as she saw his chest plate cooked a little and a metal spike was jetting out of him.
'Careful General, don't want Count Dooku to reprimand your failure again' She mocked. Grievous was only more pissed that two clones and a Jedi tricked him. He had enough with Obi-Wan and doesn't want to expand his list of enemies that he can't kill himself. Coughing and pulling the metal spike out of his chest. Asajj only rolled her eyes.
'So uncivilized' Grievous stood up fuming and walked off to lead his forces hoping to vent killing clones after this embarrassment. He spat towards her.
'Just get the DNA, Assassin!' Asajj shrugged her shoulders watching Grievous march off and head off to the DNA room.
A little upset that she couldn't get a kill from that clone commander. But seeing Grievous embarrassed made it worth it. A thought that would prove her downfall as she pushed the Jedi and the clones to the back of her thoughts as she assumed they ran off elsewhere and put more faith in herself that she'll deal with it when they meet each other again. Not knowing her potential vector was already tracked and plotted on the map where Kird and his clones speed to the DNA chambers knowing the fastest way to get there. As well as a certain Jedi getting a transmission about where the fun is about to begin.
Hevy, Fives, Echo, the cadets, and 99 all rush into the barracks. The group stopped giving the cadets some time to breathe. Then one of them spoke up.
'What are we going to do?' Ask the cadet.
'A Separatist victory means death, for all of us the cadet is right, what are we going to do?' Asked 99.
'We fight' A voice said. The group turned around and saw both Rex and Cody taking off their helmets. As well as two other clones who looked like to be part of the Grenadiers joined up with them.
But these two clones didn't take off their helmets, one was an Arc Trooper with a Phase 1 clone helmet with red trimmings. The other also a Phase 1 helmet but wasn't an Arc trooper, in fact he looked like any other clone but his helmet was brown with yellow trimmings. Although both the cadets and 99 didn't recognize these clones it seems that Hevy, Fives, and Echo recognize them.
'Fordo, Clip' Hevy said, giving them both a hug.
'You know these guys, Hevy?' 99 asked, which Hevy nodded.
'Yep, this is Fordo best Arc Trooper this side of the outer rim, although he doesn't talk much, he's THE reconnaissance out of any clone!' As Hevy boasted, Fordo gave a simple nod of agreement. Hevy focus now turns towards Clip.
'And this guy right here is Clip, recruited him at the siege of Geonosis, best sharp shooter there is!' Clip simply waves at them. Not being the best at social interaction but he's getting better.
'Well any friend of Hevy's is a friend to me' 99 offers his hand which both of them respond back, shaking his hand.
'Pleasantries aside, we can't fight those clankers, our training isn't finished' One of the Cadets said.
'Look around, we're one and the same, Same heart, same blood, your training is in your blood and my blood's boiling for a fight' Hevy said, ready to destroy some separatist droids.
'This is our home, this is our war' Echo added.
'What about weapons?' Another cadets asked.
'The armory, just a few corridors away, here in the barracks, I can retrieve all the firepower that we need, so, who wants to blast some droids?' 99 asked, both Rex and Cody nodded in approval of this plan.
Back at the command center the doors flew open revealing a squad of aqua droids marching towards the command staff. Shaak-Ti pulled out her lightsaber to slice the intruders while Lama Su moved to hide behind a clone who was pulling out his blaster. But they all paused as they saw the aqua droids fall to the ground and realized they didn't even shoot at them when the doors were opened. As the clatter of droids stopped, Shaak-Ti was relieved that Kirds Grenadiers had come to the rescue. Lama Su stopped his cowing and went forward to address his creations and thanking them for the rescue. As well as Shaak-Ti looking over the clones seeing them like the standard clone trooper with red markings curiously a select few look like they have some pirate gear.
'Thank you for the assist' The leading clone nodded and stepped forward. He looked like the other clones of the grenadiers but was wearing a belt of teeth over his shoulder and waist.
'Yes, General, the droids are being pushed back and we are pushing our offensive' Was the report given. Shaak-Ti nodded but Lama Su was frowning on the addition of the clone's bandelier of teeth.
'Before you make your offense I must ask, why are you carrying...teeth' He said pointing to the bandelier the clone has. The clone smiled under his helmet and chuckled.
' Oh this, this is just the amount of missions I did saving people from the Trandoshan slave raids' Lama Su was appalled that his clones have degraded into barbarity. Shaak-Ti just shook her head. Kird has always been a nut for customization for certain individuals who showed promise. It didn't really harm anyone and showed results as the clones were becoming more imaginative and successful rather than being trained like droids. Shaak-Ti would have let this go but not Lama Su. So he pressed on at the clone who was receiving orders to flank the droids in one of the hallways.
'Wha-that is such barbarism Clone, what is your CT number?' The clone looked at him, losing what little respect he had with the Geonosians. Sure they raised him but he felt more in line with the Mandalorians rather than being a simple clone. So he warmed up his jetpack to make his speedy escape.
'It's 1143 kiss my-" Activating the jets to make his speedy getaway with the other troopers in the comm laughing that he just did that to their superior officer. Lamu Su could only stew in his anger that these particular clones are becoming more and more like a band of roving pirates like the Mandalorians. Shaak Ti could only chuckle at that.
'You did say they came from the best soldier in the galaxy.' She quipped.
Lamu Su could only grumble and went back to his position thinking of finding new donors of the standard template to make sure the new one is more obedient then the increasing divergence of Jango Fett into the Mandalorians of old. Already his mind found some suitable candidates for obedience but scoffed at the lack of results and efficiency these potential new templates would bring to the war. Shaak-Ti shook her head and looked at the battlefield report and watched how the droids were being pushed back on all fronts besides one particular group but saw Obi-Wan tag was coming to deal with the threat and Kird and Anakin tags on the map as well as some of the other domino squad and commander colt joined in as a group and moving to the template holder. She smiled.
'I trained you well haven't I Kird' Was Shaak-Ti musing about the developing situation.
At the Heart of the clone template provider the doors opened for Asajj ready to accomplish her mission of stealing the Clone DNA for her masters nefarious purpose. Walking up to the terminal and pushing the necessary codes to bring in Subject Zero or Jango Fett. She pressed the console and saw the gears shifted to bring her fabled prize. Seeing the capsule pop out and floated downwards towards her and picking it up. Looks like she managed to beat Kird and his clones here. This mission was going a bit too easy though and wondered if they had forgotten about her. Until her worries were dashed away and replaced with a smirk as the doors opened and two lightsabers ignited to challenge her.
'I was beginning to think my presence went unnoticed.' She mocked. Anakin and Kird didn't take the bait and instead played along with the charade knowing something that she doesn't know.
'You weren't planning on leaving without saying hello, were you' Anakin played along with Kird standing behind a little giving room for Anakin to make the charge.
Asajj placed the capsule to her waist and pulled out her lightsabers activating both of them ready to kill these two and accomplish the mission. Kird smirked that this is going to be his first duel with a Sith assassin rather than droids and the occasional pirate warlord who were strangely adept with their blade. But concentrated as they have the same abilities as he does so he can't overextend himself or else he'll get cut down. Putting his trust in the force he'll probe for the Sith defensive and strike hard if the force wills it.
The doors open and 99, Rex, Cody and Fordo step inside the armory.
'Here it is, everything we need is here'
'Excellent work, 99' Rex said the four began to grab weapons.
'Hurry up, the droids have almost reached the barracks, let's get into position' The group then left the armory with the weapons they needed including Fordo who carried a bag of grenades with him.
General Grievous walks down a hallway with a couple of droids accompanying him as well linking up a squad of aqua droids that were just wandering the hallways looking for clones to kill. One of the b1's knocks on the door.
'Open up'
'Get those doors open and scare the remaining clones out of hiding' Grievous orders
'Roger, roger' The B1 droid began to fire at the door causing the door to open, what it didn't expect was a group of clones began firing at the droid killing it.
'Blast them!' The droid order, this caused the clones to fall back and the B1's to flood in.
'All too easy'
'Define easy, General' Grievous turned and saw Kenobi.
'Kenobi!' Grievous yelled. Both ignited their lightsabers as their duel began.
Anakin glared at Asajj and made his move, going for a slice. Asajj jumped over the slice and was about to force bush Anakin before she had to block an incoming lightsaber slash at Kird. Anakin leapt up high about to end the assassin before he got pushed back by Asajj hitting the glass tube stunning only for a second. Using that second she pushed Kird off of her blade lock and went to decapitate him but missed as Kird ducked underneath the swing about to impale her but switched up at the last second to block the spin attack to close her opening. Anakin recovered and went in to slice at her chest but missed as Asajj ducked from beneath and pushed pack the blade lock again and went on the offensive.
A mistake that proved costly however, going in for a whirling strike to give her some space she went for a slice to end Anakin but was blocked and had to block another strike from Kird who went for a slash. They only locked for a second before Asajj had to parry and deflect and onset of blows almost perfectly in sync by deflecting an overhead and an underhand strike, a high slash and low slash, and both combing to a series of strikes to get closer and swung their lightsabers where Asajj had to spin midair to dodged the two strikes but couldn't dodged the knee to the face by Anakin who took this opportunity to strike causing her to stumble and try to deflected a lightsaber strike from behind by Kird but was a feint and was forced pushed to the wall. Recovering quickly she gritted her teeth realizing that she had to fight two jedi who were aggressive in their lightsaber style and had to switch to a more defensive style to tire them out. Anakin and Kird smirked that they might be more alike than they first appear.
Both Grievous and Kenobi were engaged in an epic duel. Each side swung at each other neither one gaining the upper hand. On one of the blocks Grievous separates on one of his arms making it into two then grabs Kenobi's face and throws him into the ground. Grievous tried to smash Kenobi with his foot but luckily Kenobi rolled away. Undeterred he slammed another foot down and Kenobi dodged again so Grievous got tired of this and grabbed Kenobi and slammed him on the ceiling and threw him back into the ground sending him back a bit. Grievous slowly approached him with the two lightsabers in his off hands.
'Kenobi, Kamino has fallen, your clone army is doomed!'
'I beg to differ, Grievous' Kenobi said. Using the force he pushed Grievous into the ceiling once he reached the floor Kenobi didn't let Grievous make a counter attack, so he used the force to push him into the end of the hallway. Grievous landed on all fours and growled at Kenobi before retreating, Kenobi following him.
At the barracks dodging blaster fire from the onset of B1's and Aqua droids Echo, Fives, Cody, and Rex were running and gunning with the cover that Hevy, Clip, and Frodo set up beforehand. They were all running into their positions for their plan to start. 99 took part in this mission and were grabbing the grenades that Fordo was handing to 99 with Hevy on standby. Working as a team they hopped a grenade to Rex who activated the detonator waiting for the three to fall back to the second line. As the opportunity presents itself, the B1's are now clustered and the three clones fall back to not get caught in the blast radius. Rex threw the detonator stumbling the B1's but were now committed in pushing through while the Aqua droids marched on trying to take their shots but the B1's were in the way however not in the war for clip for shot one of the Aqua droids right in the sensor collapsing in a heap. But the B1's and the Aqua droids pushed forward getting closer and closer to the gatherings of clones ready to end they fell right into a trap.
'Cadets, now!'
Rex signaled the order for the Cadets to pop open from their sleeping pods and shoot the droids from above. The droids got cut down by the cadets above them and aimed to where the cadets were but were too high. Worse was that it was Hevy and Frodo cue to start gunning down the droids cutting down the B1's and the Aqua droids who resisted a couple of blaster shots but they were being shot down one by one As the battle progressed and moved for cover.
Asajj managed to regain the offensive by pushing Kird far back during his spin move attack far back at the end of the hallway but that only bought her time as now she was face to face with Anakin where she went for a slash at Anakin's head who ducked and went for a double bladed strike but was blocked from the attack. Both duelists reset and Anakin went on the offensive pushing Asajj back using Form IV using his spin moves and slashes to force Asajj on the defensive trying to make her counter strikes but was dodged effortlessly as She was being pushed back and blade locked when Anakin went for an overhead strike pushing Asajj to the ground which proved to be his mistake as Asajj went back and kicked him off over herself using the momentum from her grab. Anakin landed on his feet from that maneuver watching as Kird ran up to him nodding and turning around seeing Asajj was running to make her get away. Both ran after her to capture the assassin before she made her getaway.
Obi-Wan was running outside looking for Grievous as looked around trying to spot him but seeing nothing as there was only him looking around trying to sense him. Grievous was down below the bridge writing for the right opportunity. Sensing the opportunity was now he crawled on the bridge upholding himself to meet his nemesis in battle. Obi-Wan heard him as his feet landed on the bridge facing him. Watching as Grievous spun his blades in his famous lightsaber whirlwind of his and stepped back not finding an opening but noticed two figures in the air that found their opening. In an instant Grievous was knocked forward from an explosion and recovered quickly looking up and seeing who dared interrupt his duel. Only for his eyes to furrow as he saw it was the same two clones that distracted him now carrying grenade launchers reloading their guns for another volley. Aiming straight at the Grievous ready to blast this clanker to scrap.
Back at the barracks the droids push forwards, the cadets try as they might couldn't stop the assault just weaken it. 99 handed Rex the last grenade which he handed to Cody.
'Last one, Commander! Make it count!' Rex said.
'I'll get more!' 99 said as he picked up the bag and began running towards the armory.
'99, you can't!' Rex yelled but 99 brushed him off.
'I'm a soldier, like you, this is what I was bred for' As 99 continues to run Clip yelled.
'What are you doing?! Give him some cover fire!' Clip yelled. Both Rex, Cody, Clip, and Fordo began to step forward giving 99 cover so that he would be able to retrieve the grenades. But try as they might, 99 was hit by a lucky shot from the B1's falling over from the shot dropping the backpack hitting on the floor hard.
'99 NO!' screamed Hevy and rushed over to 99 shooting his rotary gun at the b1's and droid using his body as cover for 99 to pick up the backpack and limped forward. The others decided to take some risks charging forward at the droids close range even stabbing a Aqua droid in the sensor as Fordo leap on top of one using his wrist mounted blade but they were two slow as the remaining droids let out two shots at 99 which Hevy dove in front of the blasts and took the shot with his chest falling over from the blast.
99 in fear ducked and went down to pick up Hevy and dragged him to safety. Clip could do nothing but watch helplessly that events were repeating itself as the others finished off the remaining droids, cutting them down until the droids stopped twitching. As silence filled the room a call from commander Cody by Shaak Ti was reporting the situation at the hanger. Shaking the shock of losing a soldier Cody yelled back acknowledging the call.
Shaak Ti was deflecting some blaster shots to the Aqua droids sensor destroying them instantly giving her a reprieve as the few remaining droids were being picked off. Giving her the chance to continue her report.
'The droids have been pushed back to the main hangar' Was Shaak Ti report and her words were not found wanting as a clone with a rotary blaster was cutting down a squad of Aqua Droids as they made their approach.
Leaving only a few stragglers for the clone's sharpshooters to pick off, making the hanger clear of droids only leaving the squid droids left to be handled by the demolition teams. Outside of Kamino. Grievous was screaming at the Clones who was flying overhead popping grenades At grievous who dodged the blasts being sent at him until he felt his back being hit by Obi-Wan using the force to pick up the grenade that was launched at him and hit it straight at Grievous back knocking him down.
Grievous punched hard at the platform and got up. Only laughing as he saw the squid droids were coming to make their rescue of Grievous which they used their mechanical tentacles to squeeze the Bridge and the foundation apart making it fall into the ocean. Obi-Wan lost his footing rolling backwards hanging on the lip before failing to get a grip falling into the ocean. One of the clones jettisoned forward to save the Jedi general while the other was shooting his Grenade Launcher at Grievous forcing him to dodge the blasts as the platform he was on fell directly onto another platform where an escape ship was located.
Grievous was on all fours and glared at the clone who glared back underneath his helmet pulling out a sidearm that wasn't typical of regular star wars blasters and charged up lighting up the rack of the gun in a sickly yellow reaching all the way to the tip of the gun. Grievous laughed at the clone, mistaken that he had no more weapons that could hurt him. Somersaulting upwards He stepped onto the opening of the ship looking back to see if the clone left or was hiding somewhere. After making one look behind him he saw nothing and turned, stepping forward until he felt his right leg cut in half causing him to slip and fall from the impact and scrambled to the ship and punched in the controls to get this ship into hyperspace. Looking at his leg he saw that his leg was shot right at the joint with the metal around it glowing hot then saw the door with a metal spike dangling his other half of his leg on top of the door.
Grievous cursed the clone for discovering the forgotten technology of Mandalorian spike weaponry. Cutup could only fly in the air watching as the ship Grievous was on made its getaway. Reloading his gun he named The spike. With a small metal harpoon into his side arm putting away the grenade launcher. He put his hand to the comms radioing in Droidbait if he saved the general. But was interrupted Even before he put his hand on the comms as he saw Droidbait and cut were hitching a ride off of an Ai wha they hitched on before. Cut up only shook his head and flew towards the two happy that the two were alive and well.
'We've got to stop meeting like this, my friend' Obi-Wan thanked the creature for the lift.
Troopers began destroying the mechanical squid, both Kird and Anakin were chasing Asajj as she was making her getaway trying to steal the container that she had on her hip. Dodging the Mechanical squid that was shot down by the Grenadier squadron as it fell on top of the three. Anakin leapt forward in striking down hard but missing Asajj but pushing her back through his aggressive style blocking and parrying Asajj counter attacks as he was forcing her back to the clones on top were looking around from the explosion until they yelled out they spotted the generals and made their way towards them. Asajj was doing all she could blocking the attacks that Anakin was putting out but was kicked in the chest landing on her side and could only watch as the container at her hip was force pulled into Anakin's hand.
He smirked that he managed to complete the mission without having to fall for the back up plan. Asajj got up and yelled out in her burst of aggression catching Anakin somewhat off guard as she was pushing Anakin back about to high kick him in the chest but was smacked back by a metal droid panel sending her tumbling down. Undeterred and forcing herself to stand she used the same metal plate and spun it back towards Anakin and Kird and smashed it right at the feet of the two who were knocked back from the impact. Causing the container to tumble out from Anakin's grip as he was not expecting that maneuver so quickly. Asajj took her chance and force pulled the container to her hands until it was stopped by Commander Colt who pointed his blaster as well as the clones he gathered along the way to hold Asajj at gunpoint. Anakin and Kird got up and looked at Asajj ready to end this.
'I suppose you expect me to surrender' Trying to stall for time to think up a way to get out of this corner. Until her bracelet beeped red seeing that Grievous was close and in an escape ship to take her out of her. Looking up watching said escape ship coming into view.
'Actually, I plan to let the clones execute you right now' Anakin said with a hint of venom. Almost considering the idea. Kird did so as well since his long experience with pirates and droids. It's almost a half and half to let some live and others die if they were being a danger to the republic but showing mercy to those that deserve it is the Jedi way and not the way of the pirate that Hondo jest about him.
'Not this time' Asajj said, pushing the clones and the Jedis back being shot at deflecting some blasts that were aimed at her while she ran to the escape ship jumping on to make her getaway. The door opened, throwing herself inside taking her seat at the escape ship. Both didn't say a word to each other. Only fuming in their anger that this raiding mission is another failure. Asajj looked around and noticed Grievous leg was pinned at the door of the escape ship and smiled. At least she got away with minor scrapes and bruises while Grievous lost his leg.
'Looks like desa got away' Kird said to Anakin, watching the exhaust trails floating behind them. Anakin nodded.
'They always do,' Anakin said before smiling and throwing the container up and down in his hand.
'At least we don't have to worry about the back up plan' Anakin smirked. Kird did so as well as Colt walked up to the two and saluted.
'I did as you requested, Generals, moved the DNA to another secure location before Asajj got her hands on it' Anakin and Kird smiled, already beating Asajj to the punch and played along as well as trying to both capture and or eliminate her without the danger of the clone DNA present in their fight.
'Berry good colt. Did yousa save some back ups so yousa could transfer some of dha dna into mesa skeebeetle?' Kird asked.. Anakin gave him a look at Kird who only shrugged. Thinking that sounds extremely dangerous to give a Jedi some samples of Jango Fett to experiment on. He was a bit relieved that Commander Colt shook his head no.
'Sorry sir, that is above my clearance level, but thank you for saving my life' Kird nodded and chuckled.
'Well it was a longo shot anyways, mesa didn't expect mesa request to gos through' Kird jokes, easing the tension with Anakin who only shook his head. Remembering Jar Jar for his jokes.
'But at least yousa can do mesa disa una favor' Kird said which Colt chuckled.
'I'll send 99 to your ship as a thank you present' Kird and Colt laughed like they did during their first meeting on Kamino transferring soldiers from other regiments that he took a personal liking to his legion. Anakin rolled his eyes while walking with Kird as the clones were moving to get rid of the droid wreckage that littered Kamino.
'Do you always make a habit of picking up clones?' Anakin jokes. Kird smiled, picking up his pipe and lighting a fire for him to smoke.
'Yesa, don't yousa?' Kird question his eyebrow raised. Anakin laughed that they both have a tendency to pick up clones along the way into their personal legion. Walking off and smoking, heading to meet with their masters and respective clone generals they picked out for their report on their front of the battlefield.
The cadets were searching the droids that were destroyed making sure they didn't move. As the last of the clone cadets was scaling down the ladder looking around on what they did. Realizing with joy that they did it.
'We did it. We held them back!' The leading clone cadet said. They would have cheered but noticed the tension as the clones gathered around something. Clip wanted to herd the Cadets off somewhere else so as to not allow them to see their fallen brother. But Fordo stopped him and shook his head. Allowing the cadets to walk forward and their feelings of success were now replaced with melancholy as they saw Hevy was fallen limping being held up by 99 who looked on helplessly. A feeling shared by his brothers of Domino Squad and Commander Cody and Rex who lost one of their own.
'We lost a true soldier' Was Cody's response taken off of his helmet in respect for the dead. 99 cold only grips Heavy harder, losing his brother in the line of duty for his action. The cadets were beginning to weep but Clip stopped them with a hand and the cadets looked up to him shaking his head somberly.
'Do not mourn for those that fall in the line of duty, the loss of one soldier, is not a great loss to the republic' Was Clip montra about his brothers falling in the line of duty. Taking comfort that they gave their lives in something they believe in. As he was about to salute he was interrupted by someone that stole his breath away.
'That's *ack* quite morbid Clip' Heavy stirring awake clenching his chest from the blast marks that cover his chest plate. The cadets cheered that their brother didn't die along with Fives, Echo and 99 joining with him. Fordo shook Clip's shoulder who nodded where Clip smiled underneath his helmet glad that he was wrong. Rex removed his helmet and kneeled next to heavy as well as Cody.
'Hevy you're alive' 99 said with joy. Hevy removed his helmet trying to get air back into his lungs who was smiling from the pain.
'Ha barley, I was experimenting on double padding the armor, seems like I need to add another layer to the armor' Hevy said, then looked at 99 and shook him.
'Looks like you're really one of us 99' Hevy said gesturing to 99 wounded leg. 99 only smiled in return.
'I only did my duty' The two laughed but with Heavy wheezing for a bit from the pain that his chest felt like it was kicked by a hoofed animal. Well better alive then dead. He thought before he saw some bacta landed on his lap while Clip was helping 99 put on his. Hevy looked up to Fordo who only nodded and escorted the cadets to their designation point to be reassigned elsewhere. Heavy leaned back and put on the respirator.
'Always have to be the strong silent type, eh Fordo' He thought to himself as his brothers lifted him up as well as 99 caring them both on their shoulders to move out. Until Fordo yelled out at the gathering which they all turned seeing Fordo and the cadets stand at attention.
'You did well 99, like a real trooper' Fordo simply said. Saluting as well as the cadets sending the gathering off. They smiled and returned the salute. As the salute was finished the two groups went off to their separate ways as Fordo was escorting the cadets to where the Kaminos marked on his map on where the cadets are located while the others went to the medical bay that was set up hoping to see if they can find Droidbait and CutUp there to share their stories about the operation.
Domino Squad and clip were all gathering at the medical bay sharing their stories about fighting with the general and separating to lead a bunch of cadets to face a wave of droids. Droidbait and CutUp were humble bragging they got to save Obi-Wan life and shot Grievous leg as he ran away. They would have shared stories with 99 but Kird got to him first wanting to share the stories he had in the outer rim as 99 was recovering from his leg injury. The clones around them decided to let them have their moment. The chattering stopped when Commander Colt, Captain Rex, and Commander Cody all went into the room. Domino Squad and Clip all stood at attention From the commanders on deck. With the minor exception of Heavy who needed some help getting up as his chest injury was still being worked on.
' You all really stepped up in the heat of battle' Was Cody's statement about the squad performance in this mission.
'We did what we had to sir' Echo voicing the sentiment of the group.
'What any clone would've done' Fives added in the sentiment.
'You all showed valor out there, real courage.' Rex gives his phrases to Domino squad and Clip on their prowess in battle.
'Reminded me of me actually.' He joked getting a few chuckles here and there before commander Colt stepped forward.
'Echo, Fives, Hevy, Droidbait, Cutup, and Clip. Your squad is officially being made Arc Troopers' Echo mouth was agape and looked at the squad who were smiling that they officially made it. Cutup would have celebrated here and now but it's not yet time since they were in front of officials. Clip was the only one confused and had to voice out his thoughts on this.
'I-I'm sorry sirs with all due respect. I just joined the squad and I'm not sure..." He trailed off, not finding the strength to finish his sentence till Colt held his shoulder in place and shook him out of it.
' Yes you are. Soldier' Was Colt simple reply and clip saluted and stood tall.
'Thank you sir' was the quick reply of Clip who saw Colt going back to position.
'I don't think the separatists will be coming back here anytime soon. But if they do, Kamino will be lucky to have clones like you defending it' Was Colt speech addressing the newly promoted domino squad to be Arc troopers.
'Good job men' Was Rex closure to the speech. Saluting Domino squad. Which they saluted back now ready to start the Arc trooper program and to face what this galaxy has to offer together.
