Chapter 1
Youth...we can sometimes forget how precious it is as the years go by and the older we become. And no one sure has forgotten more than Lynn Sr and Rita Loud as they spent a ton of time focusing on their careers and raising their eleven kids. In fact, that's how we begin our story, on one fine morning in the bedroom of the Loud Parents. As Lynn Sr. is waking up from a long night...
Lynn Sr. (Gets up): "Yawn!"
Augh! Sorry...I guess Lynn had a rough night, as we see his hair is all messed up, he needs a major shave, and he has bags under his guys. Rita is not doing so well either, as she gets up and we see she's in a similar state. Well... except for needing the shave part.
Rita: "Lynn...Yawn...what time is it?"
Rita asked her husband as she scratched her sides. Lynn looks over to his alarm clock on the nightstand to see it's...
Lynn Sr. "10: 00 am?!"
Rita: "What?!"
As fast as they could, the two parents got out of bed and started to get ready for the day.
Rita: "I can't believe we overslept!"
Lynn Sr.: "You're telling me! We promised the kids we go on a picnic in the park today! And we're not even ready!"
Rita: "The kids are going to be so mad at us!"
But when Rita and Lynn go through their bedroom door, they are shocked to see that not only are all their children waiting for them in the living room, showing big smiles. But they're dressed and ready to go.
The Loud Kids: "Good Morning!"
Rita: "Umm...morning kids!" (With a nervous smile): "I see you're all ready for our picnic today."
Lola: "That's right!"
Lynn Sr.: "Well, just give us some time to get everything pac..."
To his Lynn Sr.'s surprise, Lincoln walks over and hands a picnic basket to him.
Lincoln: "Don't worry Dad. I already made our lunch and packed the basket for you."
Lynn Sr.: "Gee...thanks, son."
He opens the basket and takes out a sandwich.
Lynn Sr.: "Wow, cucumber sandwiches?!" (Whispers Rita): "I was just going to make PB and J."
Lincoln: "It was Luan's idea."
Luan: "I would've helped him." (Takes out a camera): "But I was busy looking for my old camera to take pictures with."
Lynn: "And I packed some killer games we can play!"
Lynn adds on, as she puts a duffle bag filled with said games over her shoulder. And Lori holds up the keys to the Loud Family Van.
Lori: "And I'll be driving."
Even though Rita is touched by all the hard work and thought her children have put in for this special outing. She can't help but feel a little bad for not doing anything. So, she goes over to her oldest daughter and takes the car keys from her.
Rita: "That's okay sweetie, I'll drive."
Lori: "But you just woke up."
Rita: "It'll be fine."
But it was easier said than done, as most of the Loud siblings were fighting in the back of the van, a bit of traffic getting in their way, and some fog covering the street signs making it difficult for the mother of eleven to find her way.
