Chapter 2

But it was easier said than done, as most of the Loud siblings were fighting in the back of the van, a bit of traffic getting in their way, and some fog covering the street signs making it difficult for the mother of eleven to find her way. Eventually, the Loud family made it to the park, and we see now that Rita and Lynn are sitting on the picnic blanket, setting up, while the kids are playing around the park.

After spreading out the picnic, the two parents are now taking in the scenery of the park with tired, but nostalgic smiles.

Lynn Sr.: "Man, our kids sure have a lot of energy!"

Rita: "Kind of reminds me of when I was a kid. Running around the house, my dad trying to catch me…"

Lynn Sr.: "Making a mess out the kitchen, trying to make my first dish."

Rita: "What was your first dish?"

Lynn Sr.: "Pretzel surprise!"

Upon hearing that, Rita burst out laughing. Soon alongside her husband.

Rita: "Oh man…remember the movies that came out when we were teens."

Lynn Sr.: "You mean like: "Back to the Past"?"

Rita: "Or Freddy Meany's Day In?"

Just then, Luan walks up with her camera in tow. Upon arriving she puts it over her face, directing her lens onto her parents.

Luan: "Say cheese Mom and Dad."

Lynn Sr. and Rita (Cuddle up together): "Cheese!"

But when the young comedian pushed down on the button, water squirted out of the lens, getting the two wet.

Luan: "Hahaha! Gotcha!"

Rita (Gets up): "Luan Loud!"

Luan (Turns away): "Hey guys, Mom's going to join our…"

Before she could finish, all the other Loud kids popped out of the hiding places that they found for themselves. All while holding up water balloons in the air.

Loud Siblings: "Water War!"

Feeling a surge of play and competitiveness. A devious smile slowly develops on Rita's face as she takes out...not a water balloon. But a super soaker water gun.

Rita: "It's on!"

Loud siblings: "Uh oh!"

They say as they quickly hide back in their hiding places. After a heartfelt battle and some lunch, the Loud kids decided to have a rousing game of kickball with their dad, while their mom is passed out on the picnic blanket. Lynn Sr. is pitching the ball and Lynn Jr. is first up to kick.

Lynn Sr.: "Remember what I taught you LJ!"

Lynn (With a smirk): "You want your team to lose that badly huh Dad?"

Lynn Sr.: "We'll see who wins when I serve you my…"

But when Lynn Sr got into position to throw the ball, he started to feel excruciating pain coming from his back. He immediately drops the ball and puts both of his hands on his back.

Lynn Sr.: "Augh!"

Worried, Luna, along with Lincoln. Gose over to their father to help him out.

Luna: "Pop-Star!"

Lincoln: "You okay?"

Lynn Sr. "I think I threw my back out."

Pretty soon, the Loud family arrived home with the kids going off to do their own things, while Lynn Sr. and Rita were in the Kitchen sitting at the table. Rita is on the verge of passing out again and Lynn Sr. holding a bag of ice to his back.

Rita: "You know what Lynn? Being old bites."

Lynn Sr.: "I can live without the back pains, that's for sure."

Rita: "Would it be nice to be young again?"

Lynn Sr.: "Or at least feel young again. It sure would help to have the same energy our kids have."

But unknowing to the two, they're second to the youngest daughter, Lisa is by the boor and has heard everything they said. She starts to scratch her chin... thinking.

Lisa: "Hmmm..."
