Erin's POV

I opened my eyes and wondered where I was. Then I remembered Yami Marik sending Zane to the Shadow Realm and how Kaiba held me back. Immediately tears came to my eyes again as I relived the image of Zane's soulless body falling to the floor.

"Shhh Erin it's alright"

I jumped at first, I was confused at who just spoke to me. When I saw it was Mokuba I relaxed and the younger Kaiba brother had a box of tissues and offered it out to me.

"Thank you, Mokuba"

I took the box and removed some of the tissues to wipe my tears away.

"Seto wanted me to stay here with you until you woke up" Mokuba explained. "I heard about Zane, I'm so sorry"

Kaiba asked him to look after me? I thought. Then I suddenly remembered Kaiba hugging me and I did my best not to blush.

"What happened while I was asleep?" I inquired next. Another duel had to have happened.

Mokuba shook his head.

"Mai dueled against Marik and lost, her condition is the same as Ryou, Odion, and Zane"

"Damn it!"

I jumped to my feet and slammed my fist hard into the mattress. First Zane and now Mai?!

Marik's dark half had to be stopped once and for all.

"Sorry about the swearing" I apologized to Mokuba and I looked at him. "I'm just tired of people getting hurt"

"I know so am I" Mokuba agreed. The younger Kaiba sibling then decided to change the topic. "Erin, can I ask you something?"

Mokuba had that look of amusement in his eyes.

"I got a good feeling I know what you're going to ask me"

Mokuba chuckled before giving me a small smirk.

"You like Seto don't you?"

Yep I knew he was going to ask that

I sighed before sitting down and looked Mokuba in the eye. My face was red now but the younger Kaiba brother deserved to hear the truth. Well minus the Nine-Tailed Fox part.

"Yeah I do but don't you tell your brother that"

"Don't worry I won't" Mokuba reassured me. "Seto likes you back in case you wanted to know"

That had me do an anime fall from the bed and Mokuba got worried that I hurt myself.

"Mokuba no offense but I doubt your brother would even find me dating material"

"You shouldn't say that Erin" Mokuba responded. "I'm not gonna lie you're pretty and I have a feeling you don't care that Seto and I are well off, you work hard, you love your family, and you're kind, something Seto needs"

Mokuba then closed his eyes.

"Seto has worked hard so the two of us can have a good life, but I can tell it's taking a toll on him, I want him to smile again like he used to"

The younger Kaiba sibling opened his eyes and looked at me again.

"I think you two would make a good couple just think about it okay?"

"That I can do, can I admit something else?"

"Sure"

"You are freaking adorable"

Mokuba blushed.

"Uh, thanks?"

I chuckled before changing the subject.

"When is the final duel?"

"Soon and I also need to get back to working on the Winged Dragon of Ra translation"

"If the Kaiba Corp database can't decode it my mother would be able to she's a linguist you know"

"Oh, that's cool! I'll keep that in mind"

Being the sweetheart he was Mokuba walked with me outside of my room.

"The doctors by the way looked at Zane and he's stable" Mokuba added. "We'll be keeping an eye on him along with the others who are unconscious"

"You really are sweetheart you know that?"

I then bent down and pressed a kiss against Mokuba's forehead. As I pulled away the younger Kaiba brother was blushing even harder. I thanked Mokuba again for keeping an eye on me before I made my way to the elevator that led to the arena.

When I arrived only Roland and Kaiba were present. Holding back my own blush I made my way towards Kaiba. The CEO saw me approaching and he looked relieved.

"How are you feeling?" he asked.

"A whole bunch of emotions" I replied. "I owe you an apology I shouldn't have lost my temper with you, let alone hit you in the way I did"

"Don't worry about that" Kaiba told me. "I understand"

"I also didn't want to miss seeing you duel so I know what I'm up against"

This made Kaiba smirk. Well, he was smirking until he looked behind me and I knew Yami and the others had arrived. Sensing Yami wanted to talk I wished Kaiba luck before turning to meet with the Spirit of the Millennium Puzzle.

"Erin, I heard about Zane and what Marik did, are you alright?"

"Physically yes, emotionally I'm hanging in there"

"I'm sorry Erin you had to endure Marik's cruelty" Yami apologized.

"I ought to kick Marik's ass for messing with my friend" Joey hissed as he joined us. "You just hang in there Erin, we'll get Zane back"

I flashed Joey a smile and I followed him and Yami to rejoin Tea, Tristan, and Duke.

"So you're awake then little Erin"

At seeing Yami Marik my blood turned hot.

"Shut up Marik and just watch Kaiba's duel" Joey snapped at the spirit. "And leave Erin the hell alone"

Yami Marik only smirked and I flipped him the bird before focusing my attention back on the duel that was about to happen. Kaiba was already on the arena with his typical scowl and his arms folded across his chest. Whoever Kaiba's opponent was they were late. Eventually, the elevator that brought the duelists up opened and there stood a woman.

Immediately I knew it was Ishizu despite her face being covered. Kaiba voiced his displeasure and Ishizu took his insult. Once she faced Kaiba she took off her face covering and Kaiba's eyes widened as did Yami's. Then something weird occurred. The same pulling sensation I experienced when I realized Kaiba was my mate was also coming from Ishizu. But on the other end of the link was Zane. And then it hit me!

Ishizu was Zane's mate!

Holy shit I thought not expecting this.

"This is quite a surprise" Kaiba greeted Ishizu.

"Yes we meet again Seto Kaiba" Ishizu responded.

"So you've come to win back Obelisk"

"What I've come is of a greater importance, to save my brother"

Ishizu looked at Yami Marik upon this revelation. She then went on to talk about her powers involving her Millennium Item.

Kaiba had enough and gave Ishizu a brief rant. But then she made a comeback that almost me lose my footing.

"Tell me Kaiba have you been experiencing visions about a silver Nine-Tailed Fox?"

Kaiba's POV

"How do you know that?!" I demanded.

There was no way in hell she should know that.

"You may not believe in the magic of the Millennium Items Kaiba, but I've seen you with the silver fox in question, you don't reject that"

"What I think about isn't any of your business and it's time to start this duel"

I then turned to Roland and told him to start it. As the arena lit up I shot Erin a glance. Then I had a brief flashback of the silver Nine-Tailed Fox with Erin then taking its place. Whatever the hell was going on it involved Erin and for some reason, I couldn't explain losing her or someone else touching her infuriated me.

Erin's POV

"A Nine-Tailed what?" Joey wondered.

"A mythical creature of many folklore" I explained. "I'll fill y'all in on its background later"

For the time being I needed to watch this duel so I knew how to face Kaiba in the next round.

Yep Ishizu is Zane's mate and Kaiba is one protective guy.
