Erin's POV
Kaiba started the duel off with Vorse Raider and played a card face down. I wondered what kind of dueling strategy Ishizu had. She was obviously good with dueling since she was here in the finals. My future sister-in-law closed her eyes and without looking summoned Keldo in defense mode.
"She didn't even look at her card!" Joey exclaimed.
"She doesn't need to if her Millennium Necklace shows her the future" I reminded him. "But even premonitions are not all accurate"
"You some of psychic expert Erin?" Joey asked looking at me. I chuckled.
"No buddy but that would be cool to have"
The guys have earned the truth about what I was but it would have to wait until after this is duel was over with. Ishizu then played the magic card Michizure of Doom. Kaiba got a panicked look on his face and Joey found it amusing. Ishizu told Kaiba to discard Kaiser Glider and Polymerization. With a growl, Kaiba did so before replying back to his opponent.
"Enough trickery! Show me your cards right now!"
Ishizu did as he asked and Kaiba looked at her cards for a second before making a decision.
"You'll regret playing that magic card discard Revival Magic and Monster Reborn!"
"As you wish" Ishizu replied and sent the two cards Kaiba chose into her graveyard.
After making his draw Kaiba had Vorse Raider attack Keldo. Since it was in defense mode Ishizu's life points were safe. My mate lay a card face down and concluded his turn.
My eyes immediately widened when I saw the two face-downs.
That's his shrink and crush card combo I thought.
I needed to be careful when I dueled him because that strategy would annihilate my deck if Kaiba used that on me. I heard my mate then insult Ishizu and she did not like that. As though he sensed me looking at him Kaiba shot me a glance. I gave him a look of disapproval and he smirked.
"Oi! Get your eyes off of Erin! Rich Boy!" Joey snapped at Kaiba.
I sweat dropped and Tea told Joey to knock it off. Ishizu made her draw and then played Mudora in attack mode before adding Sword of Dogra. Her monster's attack points rose by 500 and then commanded her creature to attack.
"Why thank you"
Kaiba first revealed Shrink and we all watched as Vorse Raider's attack points were cut by half. Then he played Crush Card and it was too late for Ishizu as Mudora attacked and destroyed Vorse Raider. Mudora was destroyed as well as Crush Card Virus took effect. My mate then laughed as Ishizu put all of her monsters with 1500 or more attack points into her graveyard.
Be wary he might use that card on us Balerion warned me.
"Damn, that was brutal! If I were Ishizu I'd trade that necklace for a crystal ball!"
But knowing Ishizu she had a plan or she wouldn't be so calm. My brother's mate then played Swords of Revealing Light preventing Kaiba from attacking her for three whole turns. After making a new draw Kaiba summoned Dark Gremlin and played another card face down. Ishizu passed again and my mate did the same.
Swords of Revealing Light vanished and Ishizu told Kaiba he was now free to attack.
"Well thank you for stating the obvious, now stand back"
Kaiba drew and immediately I felt that his next card was a strong one. It wasn't his Blue Eyes so it had to be Obelisk the Tormentor. My mate then had Dark Gremlin attack Ishizu and her life points went down to 2400.
"So tell me did you predict that would happen to you?" Kaiba asked Ishizu. "The Dark Gremlin is the least of your problems because I plan to destroy you with my Egyptian God Card"
"You're future is decided use Obelisk and you will be destroyed!"
Kaiba, of course, brushed that comment off.
"Even god cards have weaknesses" I stated suddenly. "One just has to find it"
"Your right" Yami agreed.
After some back and forth between Kaiba and Ishizu my stubborn mate played Virus Cannon. I winced as the cannon in question came to life and sent a blast at Ishizu.
I don't like that card Caraxes huffed. Ishizu discarded ten of her magic cards and if she didn't turn things around soon she would lose the duel.
Ishizu then smiled.
"You fell right into my trap Kaiba"
"What?! But your cards their gone!"
"I still have my trap cards reveal Exchange of Spirit!"
I went pale at seeing this card. At the cost of a 1000 life points each duelist replaced the cards in their decks with the cards in their graveyards. This wasn't good news for Kaiba and he placed six cards into his graveyard and now all he had in his deck were six cards. Ishizu summoned Kelbek and lay a card face down.
Come on Kaiba I thought. Mokuba suddenly rushed past us and called out to his brother. The two siblings exchanged brief dialogue before Kaiba got over his shock and drew a card. Ishizu claimed it was Virus Cannon and just as he tried to use it Ishizu played Muko and Virus Cannon got sent to the graveyard.
"Wait a minute Kaiba's Dark Gremlin is stronger than Ishizu's monster so why doesn't he want to attack?"
He most likely wants to use Ishizu's monsters as sacrifices to summon Obelisk, I bet.
Ishizu brought out another monster in attack mode and she used both of her monsters to destroy Dark Gremlin and to attack Kaiba. Now my mate was at 1350 life points. My brother's mate ended her turn with another card face down.
As Kaiba made another draw Ishizu played Muko again and I winced as my mate's new card was sent to the graveyard. Kaiba placed a card face down and his turn ended. Ishizu also laid another card face down before summoning Agido.
It was time to finally see one of the Egyptian God cards in person for the first time and Kaiba activated Soul Exchange. All of Ishizu's monsters were sacrificed and Kaiba slammed his most powerful monster onto his duel disk. A fierce beam of blue light appeared behind Kaiba and my mate laughed in triumph.
Obelisk appeared and its power was no joke. Even I could feel it.
"Counting on a piece of jewelry to win a duel is pathetic! To win a duel takes skill and an extremely powerful deck! Even Erin's Valyrian Deck could crush you Ishizu!"
I blushed when Kaiba said that.
Ishizu remained quiet and we all waited for Kaiba to make his next move. I noticed Yami Marik was walking away just as Kaiba was about to command Obelisk to attack Ishizu.
"What's this?! What's going on with my Millennium Rod?!"
The Millennium Rod was glowing and I swore as I had another vision coming to me again. At the same time, Kaiba was experiencing the same. In the vision, Mareena was fending off thugs, and behind her was a younger woman. The thugs took off and Mareena then turned her attention onto the woman she defended. My past self smiled at the frightened girl and offered a hand. The girl took it and as the vision came to an end I heard the cry of Blue Eyes White Dragon.
Kaiba's POV
The vision showed me a carving of Blue Eyes and someone holding a girl before it. Beside the man was Erin! But it couldn't be her!
She had Egyptian attire on and she was crying beside the man. Then I heard my Blue Eyes roaring. It was then I knew if I planned to win this duel I had to summon my Blue Eyes White Dragon.
Erin's POV
"Yo, earth to Erin! You okay?"
I came out of my vision at the same time Kaiba did.
"Yeah I'm fine" I answered Joey.
"Observe as I activate my magic card Silent Doom!"
Ishizu had a panicked look on her face and it was obvious her premonition of Kaiba beating her wasn't going to happen. Kaiba summoned Gadget Soldier in defense mode and he announced he was going to bring out his Blue Eyes.
"Oh hell yes!" I exclaimed. I've been waiting for this moment to see Blue Eyes White Dragon in action. Kaiba first sacrificed Obelisk which had everyone say.
"Ridiculous!"
"No way man!'
"What's he thinking?!"
"It can't be!"
"Here me now!" Kaiba continued. "I won't be controlled! I decide my future! Obelisk and Gadget Soldier I send you to the card graveyard!"
Obelisk and Gadget disappeared while Ishizu held her Millennium Necklace.
"You're so quiet Ishizu, where's your magic now? Or have you realized there's no such thing as destiny! Observe as I summon my Blue Eyes White Dragon, show yourself!"
Kaiba played Blue Eyes and a minute later the beautiful dragon appeared on the field. Seeing it in person was breathtaking. Kaiba made one last taunt at Ishizu before commanding Blue Eyes to attack and his dragon obeyed. Blue Eyes opened its mouth and its White Lightning attacked formed before it was launched at Ishizu.
"Holy shit" was all I could say as I watched in awe at Blue Eyes's power. Ishizu's life points went down to zero and the duel was over.
Back in Mai's Room
Still Erin's POV
"Say what?! You're a Nine-Tailed Fox?!" Joey demanded as I finished explaining to him, Serenity, Tea, Duke, and Tristan about my bloodline.
I only gave Joey a grin while Ishizu nodded.
"Erin and Zane are hybrids to be more precise, their are also half-human, Zane is my mate and Erin's is also on this blimp as well"
"So who's the lucky guy?" Duke wondered. "And you won't eat us right?"
I laughed before shaking my head.
"No, I won't eat you guys, as for my mate well that's sorta classified for now"
"Fair enough" Duke replied.
It was getting late so I bid the others goodnight and first went to check on Zane. Ishizu decided to come with me. My brother lay asleep on his bed and seeing him like this almost broke me all over again. Ishizu placed a comforting hand on my shoulder for a moment before approaching my brother. She sat down next to him and placed a hand on top of his.
"When we first met at the museum I didn't know we were mates" my future sister-in-law explained. "But I did feel a connection and now seeing him like this is agonizing for me, for us"
"You're a good match for him, I just don't know how my mate will react when he learns the truth about me"
"Kaiba will accept you, Erin, he would be a fool not to"
"I hope you're right, will you let me know if anything changes with him?"
"I certainly will and I'm honored to call you sister"
"Likewise sister"
I kissed Zane on the forehead and left so Ishizu could have some privacy with Zane. Outside of my room waiting was Kaiba.
"You look tired" the CEO greeted as I stopped in front of my door.
"It's been a long ass night" I mumbled. I opened my door and let Kaiba enter first before I did the same. "And I am tired, but I also have a lot of mixed emotions right now, your duel didn't disappoint me"
This made him smirk.
"Good I was hoping you would enjoy it, and now it looks like we're both going to duel one another in the next round, also don't think I didn't notice you getting excited when I played Blue Eyes"
"Of course, I got excited as I mentioned before it's a beautiful monster"
I thought about asking Kaiba about his vision but decided against it. Kaiba still smirked and I wondered what was so funny now.
"What's so amusing?" I inquired.
"You Kitsune"
I gave Kaiba a WTF look.
"Uh consider me confused"
Kaiba chuckled before suddenly picking me up into his arms bridal style.
"What the hell are you doing?" I demanded feeling my face go red.
"Proving something" Kaiba replied. "And it seems my assumptions were correct"
My mate then put me back onto my feet. I was blood red now and Kaiba definitely saw my intense blushing.
"So Kitsune how long have you had a crush on me?"
F**k!
So he did know all of this time I liked him. And me denying it was pointless.
"I honestly don't know" I answered and I looked him dead in the eye. "But then again most of the planet's female population feels the same"
"I'm not interested in those other girls, you do Erin"
"And why would you be interested in me Kaiba? Look you can have any woman to pick from, I'm just a regular girl from America who duels on the side whenever I'm not busy with school, you know normal"
"I have several reasons why I find you interesting Erin Randall"
He then approached until he was dead in front of me.
"For starters, I admire your work ethic and drive to obtain your goals, two you are a skilled duelist with one of the rarest decks in the world, three you treat my brother with respect something that is very important to me, and four you are beautiful in my eyes"
He then touched my hair and somehow undid the knot that kept my hair from falling down.
"Your hair looks better down" he complimented. "Do you trust me Kitsune?"
"Yes I do"
Kaiba then carefully snaked one arm around my waist and drew me closer to him. Knowing what he was about to do I closed my eyes and gently his lips met with mine. And hot damn Seto Kaiba kissed well. When he pulled away a growl of disapproval left my lips along with my face flushed even more.
"That was your first kiss wasn't it?" he teased.
"Your terrible" I responded. "A terrible tease"
Kaiba chuckled before claiming another kiss.
"I'll let you get some sleep Erin, and I promise if anything new changes with Zane I'll let you know"
"Thank you"
The CEO kissed my forehead before taking his leave. It wasn't until he was gone that I got a nosebleed.
