Erin's POV
"So what now?" I asked Kaiba.
We both stood on a subway platform.
"We shouldn't have to wait long" he replied.
Lights suddenly lit up the tunnel and my eyes went wide as a freaking Blue Eyes White Dragon train pulled to a stop.
"At least this was right," my mate said, looking pleased about the train, and I only sweat dropped as the doors opened and the two of us went inside.
I sat down across from my Zaldrizes and he looked out the window. It wasn't long until the train started to move.
"I got a question if you don't mind"
I arched an eyebrow at the CEO.
"How long did you know I was your mate?"
"The mate bond didn't awaken until Joey's duel with Odion, again I didn't say anything because of fear of rejection, you're not exactly a believer on a lot of things"
"That may be true, but by you transforming right in front of me made me accept you, Erin"
"Let's focus on getting Mokuba back," I suggested, changing the subject. "Then we can resume this talk"
"Fair enough Kitsune"
We spent the remainder of the ride in silence.
"May I have your attention please, all passengers who have stolen family empires from their rightful owners listen carefully"
I growled while Kaiba listened to Noah.
"Prepare to exit at the next stop"
The train exited the tunnel and I almost had a heart attack when I saw the many volcanos and lava outside.
Finally, the train stopped, and both Kaiba and I stood up.
"You go first this is your fight with Noah, not mine"
"I still want you at my side Kitsune"
I nodded before following after my Zaldrizes.
"I'm not surprised to see you brought your Nine-Tailed Fox with you, Seto," Noah greeted us as the Blue Eyes train disappeared.
The preteen stood on a rock platform right in the middle of a lava pool and the one we stood on was the same.
"Look, I want my little brother back right now, you cowardly little runt," Kaiba addressed Noah.
"He's my brother now and since this is between family, say goodbye to your girlfriend"
The next thing I knew I was on another platform away from Kaiba. My Zaldrizes was furious but I gave him a look to let him know I was fine. Silverwing chose that moment to appear beside me.
"So they are finally facing one another"
"Yep and it's about time too"
Suddenly a metal sphere appeared in the sky above Noah and Kaiba. Wondering what it was my attention went to Noah. It was heartbreaking to hear what happened after his tragic death and how Gozaburo couldn't accept it, so the asshole used his advanced technology and endless resources to bring Noah here into this virtual reality.
The metal sphere contained Noah's brain.
"That is a cruel thing to do to a child" Silverwing hissed. "But that gives no excuse for Noah to bring us here"
My Zaldrizes laughed after Noah finished telling us his story.
"Sorry, kid, but there's no way you can out-duel me," Kaiba replied to his stepbrother.
"I rebuilt Kaiba Corp from the ground up on my own terms, with no help except from Mokuba, you had everything handed to you while it was hard work on my own end to make Kaiba Corp the success it is today, no one else could run it, especially not some spoiled brat, now let's finish this"
Kaiba activated his duel disk, and just as he was about to choose his deck master, Silverwing suddenly roared and took flight.
Kaiba's POV
"Silverwing? What are you doing?" I asked the dragoness as she landed beside me.
"Serving as your Deck Master," she answered, looking at me.
"How sweet it would seem Erin's monster is fond of you, Seto," Noah sneered. I ignored him and waited to hear what Silverwing needed to say next.
"It is true my kin and I usually serve our wielder, but on the rare occasion we have free will to fight alongside another we deem worthy, and you Seto Kaiba more than qualify in my eyes"
Erin's POV
I hadn't expected Silverwing wanting to be my Zaldrizes's Deck Master. But the silver dragoness had grown fond of Kaiba and Mokuba so it made sense.
"Use her Kaiba! She won't let you down!" I encouraged my mate.
Kaiba's POV
I gave Silverwing a smirk before facing Noah again.
"I chose Silverwing as my Deck Master!"
My stepbrother accepted this before summoning his own Duel Disk. He activated it and the duel was now on.
Erin's POV
My Zaldrizes started the duel with Giant Germ in attack mode and lay a card face down.
That's definitely Crush Card Virus I thought.
Noah's first monster was Chiron the Mage and no sooner had it been played yelling was heard and another portal opened and the others fell out of it and made a crash landing.
"Hey guys" I greeted the others.
"Hey, Erin," Yugi responded before he and everyone else saw Kaiba facing Noah.
"Kaiba be careful!"
My mate turned and acknowledged Yugi while Noah continued to gloat.
"Hey! Isn't that Silverwing next to Kaiba?" Duke questioned me.
"It is; she chose to be his Deck Master," I explained.
Noah then activated Chiron's special ability, the Mirror of Truth and I swore. Crush Card Virus was revealed in the centaur's shield and was automatically destroyed. Giant Germ was next to be eliminated and Kaiba lost 800 life points. But thanks to Giant Germ's special ability it could return to the field and return it did. And Noah was dealt 500 points of damage to his life points.
Next, my Zaldrizes sacrificed Giant Germ to summon Vampire Lord. Chiron got taken out making Noah's life points go down again. Kaiba chose to use Vampire Lord's special ability, which meant Noah would need to discard one card type, and Kaiba made Noah get rid of a monster card.
Noah's turn began with him playing the magic card Fissure and this destroyed Vampire Lord, then he conjured Aeris and I winced as Kaiba was attacked directly.
Kaiba's POV
My life points dropped to 1400 and Silverwing looked at me with a worried expression.
"I'm fine" I reassured the dragoness.
"Why don't you surrender when you have the chance" Noah sneered as my stepbrother placed a card face down.
"I'd rather see my company run into the ground before letting you have it" I growled at the preteen.
It was my move, and Vampire Lord returned to the field,and then I summoned Slate Warrior.
"I can't be beaten Seto this is my world now"
Having enough of his taunts, I commanded Vampire Lord to attack, but Noah chose that moment to play Earthshaker. Everything shook due to the trap card and Silverwing roared in displeasure as I growled in the same way. Earthshaker meant I had to choose one of my monsters to be destroyed.
Erin's POV
Kaiba chose to have Vampire Lord to be destroyed and then had Slate Warrior shred Noah's monsters to pieces.
"Oh shit" I swore when Noah decided to play the magic card Giant Flood.
Everyone else began to panic as a virtual tsunami appeared behind Noah and the water tore through the landscape. My eyes went wide as I noticed Slate Warrior was being swept away along with the rest of Kaiba's monsters from his graveyard via a whirlpool.
"It's time for you to meet my own Deck Master!" Noah yelled to my mate.
"But you don't have a Deck Master!" my Zaldrizes protested.
But he was proven wrong when a large ship rose from the water, and it was called Shinato's Ark. The ship opened, and it sucked in every monster that had been sent to the graveyard, including my mate's monsters.
"From now on, every time a monster is sent to the graveyard, it will be swallowed up by Shinato's Ark; Seto, this is the beginning of the end"!
My beloved laughed, and after drawing a new card, he summoned Spear Dragon, and my Zaldrizes had it attack Noah directly. But Noah countered by bringing back Vampire Lord in defense mode. Vampire Lord absorbed Spear Dragon's attack, but the vampire was destroyed and Noah lost some more life points due to Spear Dragon's special effect.
Vampire Lord returned to Shinato's Ark and the landscape began to change again. The ocean from the Giant Flood disappeared, and the setting turned into prehistoric times. Noah began his turn by calling upon Giant Rex and the dinosaur was commanded to destroy Spear Dragon. Kaiba's life points were spared but my Zaldrizes didn't have any monsters on the field now.
Noah taunted Kaiba while again talking more about his past. When he was done having bragging rights he called my mate a lowly human.
"HE'S NOT A LOWLY HUMAN!" I yelled now pissed off.
Joey, Duke, and Tristan all winced while Tea and Serenity were curious why I was so worked up.
"Seriously, Erin, you can do much better than Seto," Noah addressed me directly. "You would make a better girlfriend for Yugi"
Poor Yugi was blushing
"SAY WHAT?!" Joey exclaimed. He then turned to me. "Are you dating Kaiba now?!"
But my Zaldrizes interrupted.
"Who I view romantically is none of your business Noah, and your little attempt about me rejecting her failed miserably"
Now that seemed to annoy Noah.
"So she finally told you about her being a Nine-Tailed Fox"
"More like I saw her transform in front of me, it took a lot of guts for Erin to do that and for that alone, she has my utmost respect so don't you dare talk crap about her"
"Damn," Duke said. "I can't believe Kaiba is saying that about you Erin"
"Oh shit! He's your mate isn't he?!"
Tea smacked Joey on the head and told him to shut up while I only blushed.
"I had a feeling he was," Yugi added, looking at me. Yami appeared in spirit form beside him and shot me a wink.
"Also news flash Noah, Erin also gives a damn about Mokuba so there will be hell to pay if you'd hurt him"
"That's right!" I yelled at Noah.
Kaiba's POV
"You literally just admitted you have feelings for my wielder, Stubborn One," Silverwing stated. The silver dragoness wore her version of a smirk.
"So what if I do? Would you be against it?"
Silverwing snorted.
"No, I wouldn't now let's return our focus to the duel"
"I couldn't agree more"
