Erin's POV
"Dracarys! Dreamfyre!"
The blue and white dragoness scorched the duel monster that snuck up behind us. But more only appeared and I could tell my dragons were getting tired. Yugi had Dark Magician destroy some while Rocket Warrior dealt with some others letting Sunfyre, Dreamfyre, Caraxes, and Meleys take a moment of rest.
"Attention! Can all of you hear me?!"
It was Noah, and he sounded frantic.
"This is extremely important; this is a warning to all of you; the virtual world you're all in is about to be destroyed! I'm so sorry for the way I treated you all, but now a satellite is set to destroy the main computer system! When that computer shuts down, the virtual world will collapse, you must escape, or your minds will be lost forever!"
I knew you had good in you, Noah, I thought.
"I can help you all escape; the exit is in the Domino Arcade; all of you must hurry. Time is running out!"
"We don't have time to argue" I notified the others. "We need to get the hell out of here"
I just hoped wherever my Zaldrizes was, he was alright, and I hadn't seen Mokuba since we entered that door in the canyon. The virtual arcade wasn't far from where we were, and while on the way there, our monsters tore apart Gozaburo's.
Serenity, Tea, Duke, and Tristan made their way into the arcade while Yugi, Joey, and I dealt with the monsters. Dreamfyre finally collapsed as did Sunfyre. I had them return to their card forms while Caraxes and Meleys continued unleashing their fury upon Gozaburo's monsters.
The two dragons kept fighting until we arrived at the arcade, and they returned to their card forms after Yugi had Dark Magician finish off the last monster. Joey hurried onto the dance stage and he disappeared a second later.
"I'm not leaving without my Zaldrizes" I informed Yugi.
"Erin, Yugi, Seto is in a duel against my father"
"We'll get him" I answered Noah. "Shall we Yugi?"
Yugi nodded just as Noah gave us a shortcut. We stood outside the virtual replica of Kaiba Corp, and together, Yugi, and I hauled ass inside. We were now in an elevator, and no sooner had it opened than Yugi and I ran like hell in the direction I caught my mate's scent.
My eyes went bug-eyed as a hideous red monster was about to touch my mate, but Yugi used a switch to pull my Zaldrizes out of harm's way.
Yugi told Kaiba to jump and my beloved did so just as the dueling platform was destroyed.
"Is that Gozaburo?!" I demanded as we ran away from the dueling arena.
"Yes! Ugly bastard isn't he?!" Kaiba confirmed.
The three of us came to a dead end on top of the Kaiba Corp roof. Then the wall was destroyed and Gozaburo looked at us in his ugly ass form.
"Stay away from my wielder!"
Balerion appeared before Gozaburo and proceeded to spit flames at him.
"Go now! I will deal with him while you escape!" the Black Dread commanded.
Suddenly, Noah told us to jump, and trusting his word, I did so, as did Kaiba and Yugi. Another portal opened up and it swallowed us whole. However, I didn't wake up in the real world but in a fog-like setting, and waiting for me was Noah.
"Hello Erin" the preteen greeted me. "I just wanted to tell you personally how sorry I am and what I put you through"
"I accept your apology, it takes guts to admit when one is wrong, know none of this was your fault"
Noah gave me a genuine smile.
"Seto and Mokuba are very lucky to have you, just take care of them"
"That I can do"
I then pressed a kiss against Noah's forehead. It was then I heard my Zaldrizes calling my name and the next thing I knew, I saw Kaiba and Yugi looking over me. I was back in the real world at long last. No sooner had I climbed out of my pod did Mokuba wake as well. Mokuba said Noah was still inside the virtual world and that broke my heart.
"Lekia, get on my back," I told the younger Kaiba sibling.
Seeing there wasn't time to argue, Mokuba got onto my back, and then all of us were running like hell through the tunnel of the underwater fortress. We then saw daylight and it was then I had my Nine-Tailed Fox speed come to life.
"Good Lord! Your fast Erin!" Moluba exclaimed as the blimp came into view.
"Pretty cool huh? Hang on buddy"
Joey, Duke, and Tea shouted for us to hurry up and hurry we did. When I got close enough I jumped and literally leapt over the trio. I then put Mokuba down just as Kaiba and Yugi got on the blimp. The missile Noah sent to destroy the virtual world and underwater fortress struck.
Things began to shake violently due to the explosion. I kept Mokuba close to me, and I closed my eyes, hoping the shaking would soon end.
Kaiba's POV
I hurried to the bridge just as Roland told me.
"Mr. Kaiba! I'm afraid this ship is too slow to escape the explosion"
"I'm taking control now" I alerted him. "You two better hang on"
I then slammed my fist into the emergency button.
Erin's POV
Whatever button my Zaldrizes hit the blimp suddenly changed. Then it began to pick up speed but something seemed to be trying to keep the blimp from escaping. Mokuba clung to me while I held for dear life as the blimp made another violent jerk but then things seemed to calm down.
"You okay Lekia?" I questioned Mokuba as I let him go.
"Yeah thanks to you"
Just as he helped me to my feet, I suddenly got dizzy, and the next thing I knew, darkness decided to claim me.
Kaiba's POV
At seeing Erin fainting I hurried over to where she and Mokuba were. My little brother thankfully had caught her before she could hit the ground.
"I got her kid"
Mokuba nodded before letting me scoop up the unconscious Erin into my arms. The blimp would arrive at Kaiba Corp Island soon but it was probably a good idea for everyone else to catch their breath first.
"Alright you geeks we'll be arriving at the final dueling site shortly so be ready"
Wheeler flipped me the bird and I ignored him. My attention was on my little brother.
"Know I'm proud of you kid and thank you for always having my back"
Mokuba smirked and I gave him one in return before making my way towards Erin's room.
Erin's POV
"You don't seem to have a concussion Ms. Randall" ,the doctor told me. "Just take it easy until the next round of the tournament"
"She will, thanks doc," my Zaldrizes stated before walking the physician out.
"I was worried you did have a concussion; the blimp shook pretty hard during the escape attempt," Kaiba said as he sat down beside me on the bed.
"You are now turning into an overprotective mate, my Zaldrizes," I pointed out.
My other half then smirked before suddenly drawing me into his lap. My face was now blood red and Kaiba was enjoying the sight.
"We did agree to talk about us after getting out of that place, Kitsune," Kaiba reminded me.
"And dragging me into your lap is necessary?!" I squawked.
"I like having you in my lap, Erin," he teased. He face then turned serious. "When you took that hit meant for me and Mokuba it really scared me,"
He was about to continue, but I interrupted him by placing my hands on both sides of his face and kissed him. This kiss was long overdue, and immediately, my Zaldrizes began to relax. The President of Kaiba Corp then took charge and his tongue soon began to dance with mine. And holy shit he was good.
When his mouth moved away from mine, I growled, and he chuckled darkly. I then jumped when he proceeded to find one of my weak spots on my neck and gave it a bite.
"Wow" was all I could say as we both caught our breath.
"Erin"
I looked at my beloved and he had that serious look on his face again. He then picked up my left hand and brought it to his lips.
"I may not be the easiest guy to be around, and this whole mate thing between us will take some getting used to, but you are very important to me and the thought of losing you is agonizing, what I'm trying to say is that I love you, Erin"
Now, normally, this is where the girl would start crying at hearing a confession, but I wasn't most girls. Instead, I gave my Zaldrizes another kiss to show him I loved him in return. I eventually pulled away and placed my forehead against his.
"Se avy jorraelan issa Zaldrizes"
"Sorry, Kitsune, but can you tell me what you just said?"
"I said and I love you my dragon"
This made him smile and it was a real one. He kissed my hand again before saying.
"You can call me by my name Erin"
"Seto"
His smile turned into a smirk.
"That's my Kitsune"
"You do know I don't share what is mine my Zaldrizes"
"Erin no other woman interests me but you, and I don't share either"
His possessiveness was sexy but it was then I remembered Bakura.
"What is it?" he asked seeing I was troubled.
"Do you remember that evil spirit I dueled at the beginning of the finals? I know you don't believe in the Egypt stuff, but I do and Seto that spirit was someone apparently I loved in my past life alongside you, and now 5,000 years later he wants me again"
"I'm willing to explore the possibility of me being connected to the Egyptian stuff, but make no mistake whoever that was that dueled you Erin, he's not touching you"
"Possessive much?" I teased him.
"You have no idea, Kitsune, so my Nine-Tailed one, will you be my girlfriend?"
"Damn straight I will"
Seto chuckled before pressing a sweet kiss against my forehead.
"Mokuba will be happy about this, he's been nagging me on asking you out for a while"
"That doesn't surprise me, he already knew I was crushing on you, to begin with, looks like he wanted us to get together, and I mean what I said back in the virtual world, I love him as well"
"I knew you did that's another reason why I wanted to date you"
Mokuba's voice suddenly came through the microphone on Seto's jacket.
"Seto we're about to descend on Kaiba Corp Island"
"Thanks, kid, by the way, I finally asked Erin to be my girlfriend and she agreed"
Mokuba literally yelled "YES!" and it was both hilarious and sweet.
"Guess we just made his day"
"We did"
"I still intend to duel you, Seto, even if we're dating now, all I ask is that you and I face off as regular opponents"
"I was going to say the same thing"
After one last kiss on the forehead via my Zaldrizes the two of us stood up.
"Shall we?" Seto asked with a smirk.
"Lead the way my Zaldrizes"
