Chapter 11: Ultrasound Checkups and Bad Arguments Part 2

The car ride back to their decided destination to Bobby in Sioux Falls was silent. They made a few stops along the way for gas, the prescriptions Dean was to pick up, and food. Dean was reading the back of the prenatal and anti-nausea medicine bottles they just picked up and decided to take them together. He would only talk when he was spoken to and sometimes his answer would be only one or two syllables. An hour later Jessica decided to get him something to eat to see if it would stay down which surprisingly it did. The last stop before they headed to Bobby's was the gas station.

It seemed to Jessica that Sam had calmed down, so she left Dean with Sam while she went to pay for the gas, but she was wrong. So, so wrong. They were standing a few feet from the car facing each other, voices raised so loud that other people who were there at the gas station pumping gas for their car were looking at them, so she hurried her steps up and caught the last of what was being said.

"...I've had it up to here with you not telling me these things," Sam shouted, raising his hand above his head. "I don't know that other lady and I don't want her working on you."

"What do you want from me?! I trust Missouri and if she says Jo is trustworthy then I believe her!"

"I want you to get another doctor. No, you know what? I don't care what you do because after this is all over it won't matter anymore."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Sam, stop it! He is your brother," Jessica yelled, loud enough that they turned their heads to her. "He's your only brother! Get in the car and don't answer that if you don't have anything nice to say."

"Stay out of this Jessica! He is not my brother," he said turning to look directly at Dean as he said his next statement. "I don't have a brother anymore."

Dean let a low gasp, and he took a step toward Sam and shoved him back a few steps with each word he said voice raw with emotion. "Don't you dare say that to me! Not to me. How dare you say that to me? I am your brother!"

Sam shoved him back harder. "When this is all over-"

Jessica got between them with her hands against their chest and pulled them apart. "Don't finish that sentence Sam. Get in the car Dean."

"No, I want to hear what he has to say!"

"When this is all over, I'm done with you!"

Dean's face falls and he looks down and closes his eyes before opening them again to respond. He looks up at Sam trying not to cry but tears choke up his voice anyway. "Tell me...tell me you do not mean what I think you mean."

"Get in the car Dean, now," Jessica cuts in and then turned to Sam. "Don't say another word-"

"It means I don't want you around after the baby is born. Hell, I don't want you around now and-"

"Screw you, Sam," Dean responded working his jaw refusing to let him see him cry as he looked to Jessica. "Where are my keys?"

Jessica hands the keys over and he goes to the driver's side and gets in and pulls off. Sam and Jessica run after the car yelling his name. They were not expecting that reaction. Sam's anger faded as soon as Dean left and now, he felt bad. He felt ten times worser when Jessica confronted him.

"You asshole! Why the hell would you do that?" She then began to pace in front of him as she ran a hand through her hair. "He's in a vulnerable state right now and you just pushed him away."

"Jess, I'm sorry. I just got so mad and now I've screwed things up. I just do not want him to see Missouri anymore."

"Too bad. If Dean says he trust her, so do I. Deal with it! You should be apologizing to Dean not me."

"Okay, I will," he responded before giving her a hug she did not return looking around the gas station at the last two people pumping gas before going up to one of them. "Sir I'm sure you saw what happened. Can we borrow your car?"

"I can do you one better and take you to your location-"

"It may take a while to find him. I don't know where he could have gone."

"I am not in a rush to get anywhere. I'll help you find him. He's your brother, right?"

Sam's face drops, remembering Dean's face when he told him he had no brother anymore, and responded sadly. "Yeah, that was my brother. How did you know?"

"I heard what the young lady behind you said and what your response was."

Author's note: Stay tuned for what happens next in my next update. I'm going to try to get updates up quicker like I've been doing but if you don't see an update after this one it just means I've become busy with stuff and life in general. Don't worry though because this will get finished. I don't like when stories are left hanging especially when they are good. Be sure to review! And make sure to read the author who goes by ncsupnatfan stories. They are really good, and I would recommend others that I like, but this note has just become so long.
