"Are you sure about this?" Roy asked, following Jamie through the hospital.

Jamie rolled his eyes. "You have to come and meet Katie."

"Check with your mum before I come in," Roy told him.

Jamie nodded and walked through the door that was ajar. "Mummy?"

"My sexy baby," Georgie said, voice tired. "Did you bring Roy?"

"He's not sure about coming in," Jamie said with a chuckle.

"Come in, Roy," Georgie called out.

Roy stepped into the room; Georgie was looking down at Katie sleepily where the baby was feeding. "How are you?"

"Tired," Georgie said. "Didn't have much luck feeding since Katie was born but I think she's finally latching properly."

"That must have been stressful," Roy said, smiling at Simon.

"It was nice to have been able to be here all night," Simon said. "How are you, Roy? Sleep okay?"

"Yeah, thank you for letting me stay there," Roy said.

"How is my little sister?" Jamie asked, kicking off his shoes and curling up next to Georgie in the bed.

"She's perfect," Georgie said, kissing him on the head. "My perfect little daughter and my perfect adult son."

Jamie smiled and rested next to Georgie while she continued feeding. When she was done, she handed Katie over to Jamie and Roy was surprised to see the younger man expertly prop her in his arms and pat at her back until Katie let out a little burp before Jamie climbed from the bed; baby secure in his arms.

"What?" Jamie asked.

Roy made a vague gesture.

"I have a bunch of cousins," Jamie said with a shrug. "Do you remember how to do this?"

"Hold a baby?"

"A newborn," Jamie said with a sigh.

Roy growled at him and slipped his hands between Jamie and the tiny bundle in his arms. Roy pulled her close, making sure she was supported and looking down at her. "She is a lot better looking than you, Tartt."

Jamie covered her ears. "Fuck off, Grandad."

Roy turned his back on Jamie. Jamie groaned his displeasure and stepped close to Roy's back so he could peek over the other man's shoulder and down at his sister.

"You're pretty good at this," Jamie told him.

"I'm a grandad, right?"

Jamie laughed. "Is this all because of Phoebe?"

Roy nodded. "She was born and I realised I loved her more than anything else in life…even football."

"It's pretty fucking terrifying, that," Jamie said. "I don't want to go back to London and leave Katie."

"I'm sure-"

"I'm coming back to Richmond," Jamie said, sighing. "Life doesn't stop because I'm finally a big brother to this sexy little baby."

Roy groaned. "I will agree to beautiful."

Jamie huffed and stepped back from Roy. He went over to the fridge and grabbed some cold water, bringing the jug over to fill his mummy's glass.

"He's good with babies," Georgie said, smiling at him.

"Fucking rude that," Jamie whispered to her.

Georgie nodded.

"She's beautiful, Georgie, Simon, congratulations."

"Phoebe wants a picture of Roy and the baby," Jamie told his mum. "That okay?"

Georgie nodded. Jamie pulled out his phone and towed Roy over to the window for better light and took a few photos. Ones of Roy and the baby and then one of just Katie's perfect little face.

"Was Phoebe this perfect?" Jamie asked.

Roy smirked. "More."

"Fuckin' liar."

"Let me get one of you both," Simon said. "I bet Phoebe wanted that too."

"She would, thank you," Roy said, adjusting the baby so she was secure but visible when Jamie stood next to him.

When the photos were done, and Roy had held the baby for at least thirty minutes, he handed her back to Jamie and asked if the family wanted some photos. He took as many as they wanted, letting Jamie check each group in case they weren't right, and then handing the phone back over to the younger man.

"It's time for me to head off," Roy said, patting his pockets to make sure he had his keys, wallet, and phone.

"Wait, I still got the keys to the house," Jamie said, climbing off his mum's bed.

"No, back to Richmond. I don't want to encroach on family time. I just wanted to bring Jamie his stuff and make sure he had everything he needed. Thank you for letting me met Katie."

Jamie nodded looking between Georgie and Roy.

"You're welcome, Roy, thank you for coming up," Georgie told him.

"I'll walk you down," Jamie said.

Roy nodded, shook Simon's hand and touched Katie's tiny hand in goodbye. "See you soon, hopefully."

"See you soon," Georgie confirmed.

Roy and Jamie walked through the maternity wing, through the hallways until Jamie saw an open door to an empty room. He nudged Roy into the room and partially closed the door.

"Jamie?"

Jamie pulled Roy into a kiss, Roy's arms immediately curled around him, yanking Jamie close. Jamie kissed him until he knew he needed to pull away to pull in a proper lungful of air and dropped his forehead against Roy's.

"Jamie?"

"You sure you want to go back to Richmond?"

Roy chuckled and nudged Jamie's face up, kissing him again. "I'll be there when you come home. Enjoy your time with your family."

"She's so fucking amazing."

"She is," Roy told him, kissing Jamie once more. "I'll let you know when I'm home."

"Good," Jamie kissed him again and then pulled back and opened the door again.

"Can't kiss you at the car, can I?" Roy asked.

"Why not, fuck me in the backseat in the carpark if you like."

Roy turned and stared at him.

Jamie sighed and nodded. "Fine."

"Go back to Katie," Roy said, looking both ways and kissing Jamie again before striding down the hallway.

Jamie sighed and scuffed his shoe before turning and heading back to his mum and little sister.
