Present Day
The Quest team arrive in London, the team consisted of teenage adventurer Jonny Quest along with his scientist father Doctor Benton Quest, his adoptive brother Hadji, bodyguard Race Bannon and his daughter Jessie. They were on their way to meet astronomer Doctor Ogilvy at the UCL observatory also known as the University of London Observatory
"We're almost there" said Race looking at the GPS in the Quest Rover
"We don't want to keep Doctor Ogilvy waiting." Said Jonny
"I read about Doctor Ogilvy work; he has devoted his life to astronomy exploring the galaxy." Said Hadji
"Ogilvy was a mentor to me when I was younger, I haven't seen him for years then he calls me out of the blue saying that he made some remarkable discovery." Said Doctor Quest
"I wonder what he found?" Jessie asked
"I don't know Jessie, but whatever it is sounded so important that he wanted us to fly across the pond." Doctor Quest responded
Moments later they arrive at the Observatory, they go inside where they are greeted by Ogilvy. Ogilvy looked like the standard scientist, old man grey white hair wearing thin glasses
"Benton, it has been so long." Said Ogilvy
"Yes, it has." Said Doctor Quest
"Don't tell me that this is little Jonny? My has he grown." Said Ogilvy
"Well not so little anymore I'm seventeen now. Good to see you again Doctor Ogilvy
"This is the rest of the team Hadji, Race and his daughter Jessie." Said Doctor Quest making the Introductions.
"Doctor Ogilvy, you told my dad that you made a discovery?" Jonny asked
"Yes, I have. I have been watching the solar system closely for many years trying to find the answer to the question that many have had for years. Is there life on other planets specifically Mars? And today I can honestly say this is." Said Ogilvy
"That's impossible." Said Jessie
"Yes, there have been many expeditions to Mars by NASA and no evidence have been found," said Hadji
"I was as skeptical as you children, but I have proof. You can see for yourself, Benton why don't you take a look." Ogilvy suggested as he directs him to the huge telescope in the laboratory
Doctor Quest looks into the telescope; his eyes widen as he sees flashes of light coming from Mars.
"Dad, what is it?" Jonny asked concerned
"Yes, Doctor Quest what did you see?" Hadji also asked
"I just saw flashes of light coming from Mars." Doctor quest answered
"Come on now I am no scientist, but that doesn't sound like much to prove anything." Said Race
"But it's definitely something Race." Said Doctor Quest
Suddenly they are interrupted when a woman walks into the room, she was young in her mid-thirties with auburn brown hair.
"Everyone this is Miss Clarice Henderson. Miss Henderson is a journalist from the London Times." Said Ogilvy making the Introduction
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I have some rather urgent news." She spoke
"What is wrong?" Ogilvy asked noticing the concern on her face
"A flying object has just crashed near the Horsell Common." She responded
The group looked at each other in shock before running out of the laboratory. Moments later they drove down to the Horsell Common, they get there and see a crowd of people standing around. They pushed through the crowd and see a giant cylinder object that has crashed creating a huge pit in the ground
"Oh my God look at that!" said Jonny amazed
"I can't believe what I'm seeing!" said Jessie
"Let's not get too close." Doctor Quest suggested
"I better keep this crowd back; all right people let's stay back," said Race
Suddenly the lid of the cylinder starts to unscrew, a tube-like object with an eye shaped tip peers out of the cylinder. Ogilvy takes out his handkerchief and ties it to a stick creating a makeshift flag and starts to walk down towards the cylinder
"Ogilvy wait!" Doctor Quest shouted
"it's okay Benton, I am going to show them that we are peaceful." Said Ogilvy
Ogilvy gets closer to the cylinder; the eye shaped device scans him before shooting him with a heat ray. Everyone looked in horror as the ray kills him turning him into dust. Suddenly the ground starts rumbling as the tripods emerge, they start shooting off rays and black smoke killing people at random. The Quest team starts running through the woods dodging the laser beams. As they were running Clarice tripped, Race helps her up to her feet as they keep running. Finally, they make it to the Quest rover and get in
"Hurry Race, we have to go!" Jonny shouted
"I can't get it started!" Race shouted
"Of course, when those objects landed it must've caused an EMP rendering all electronics useless." Said Doctor Quest
"The Quest rover is electronic." Said Hadji
"Oh great, now what do we do?" Jessie asked
"We keep moving until we find shelter." Race suggested
They all get out start walking through the woods.
