Chapter 40 Part 12: Locked and Loaded Texas Style
This is going to start where I left off with Ana and Paula after their talk. This is where they are getting ready to go down to the ballroom and finalize their plans.
"Captain, are you ready?" Paula asks her.
"Hell yeah ready to rock and roll. It's time to save some children." She says.
"Full uniform, locked and loaded?" Ana asks her.
"Yes ma'am as I see you are too." She tells her.
"Well we have some time, let's go on down and see if the refreshments are ready. I called the front desk and asked for them." She tells Paula.
They put their guns in their holsters after they check and make sure they are locked and loaded. They grab their Kevlar hat and are already wearing their Kevlar gear underneath their uniforms. They have their earpiece on and activated. They listen and can hear some of the other agents talking as well.
They walk to the elevator and push the button down. The doors open and they walk into the car and the doors close and descend down the floors.
Ana is watching the numbers drop one by one as a bright orange glow gets brighter with every drop. They reach the bottom and step out when the doors open. They look around and then walk into the ballroom.
"Well I see we are not the only ones early." She tells Paula.
"Yeah I see that. I guess everyone had the same idea or they just couldn't rest any longer and were anxious to find the children and take the bastards down." Paula says.
"It is all of the above." She tells Paula.
"I agree with you." She tells her.
"What brings all of you down here forty-five minutes early?" She asks them.
"I guess the same as you daughter want to get this over with and save those children and bring the bastards to their knees." Ray tells her.
Here, here the group says.
"Alright well there is coffee, tea, juice and water if you all are thirsty. I think they put out some snacks as well." She tells them.
They all decide on something to drink and no snacks.
Everyone arrived and walked over the refreshment and snack table. Most are getting coffee, a few wanted tea and everyone else decided on water.
The staff was waiting to fill the pitchers again and leave.
"Does everyone have enough drinks and snacks?" Ana asked them.
They all said yes.
"You may leave now. Thank you all for coming in to serve us. We will see you all in the morning. Good night," Ana tells all of them.
Ana waits until they all walk out.
"Matthews, will you please lock the doors?" She asks him.
"Yes Captain." He replies as he is walking over to lock all the ballroom doors.
After he is seated Ana begins.
"First of all let me ask you all how do you like the electronics you are wearing?" She asked all of them.
"Captain, this earpiece is amazing and comfortable. Looks like a pierced earring." One agent says.
"The glasses are awesome. Wow, I can see everything in the dark. I like that now I don't have to worry about what I will see ahead of me or behind me if I turn around. The infrared is something else and I can also drive with them on. One question Captain, do we get to keep them?" He asked her.
"Yes, yes they are yours. We are giving them to all the agents and agencies near and far. Barney and Welch are gifting them to everyone.
"Alright everyone I just got word a little while that the guards that were in duty have been relieved and new guards have been posted. Our agents took out the ones that were leaving their post and going home. No bloodshed, just a tap on the back of their heads. They will wake up in jail with a headache and wonder what the hell happened and be mad as hell I betcha." She tells them laughing.
"My team has already apprehended the guards that were in the guard shack as well and replaced them with our men." She tells everyone.
"Agent Mcknight you and your team please get into position thank you." She tells him.
"Yes Captain alright men let's go and protect the children and our teams." He tells his men as he stands up.
They all follow and head to the door.
"Captain Trevelyan, my men and I are ready to roll and take out the guards." He tells her.
"Thank you Captain Stowers we appreciate all the help you are giving us sir." She tells him.
"You're very welcome but I must say we appreciate all you are doing. Coming down here when you could be home running your business." He tells her as he takes her arm and walks away from the group.
"Captain Trevelyan, my teams and I want these bastards as bad as you and your teams do. We have been after them for months but they somehow slip through our fingers. But now we see why with all the information you and your teams were able to gather. They are crafty and know where to go because they all live here. These bastards blend in with everyone so we don't know who is good and who is bad." He tells her.
"Well sir we are going to take the ones that make the first move to the ship tomorrow to hand over the money. They will be arrested and taken to jail at Headquarters. I believe the Director is waiting on the slime." She tells him.
"Yes he is and now that we know where sixty no good slimy bastards are hiding we will take care of them in a few days." He tells her.
"Yes sir, I am aware of a situation like that because it happened at home when I was younger and then just last year. I am sure you read my dossiers on Elena Lincoln and Grace Trevelyan Grey. Some people couldn't tell a pedophile from a good woman." She told him.
"Yes Captain I did and I read all your briefs on the takedowns you did in Seattle and what you and Mr. Trevelyan went through at your company. We are all very thankful that you and your husband made it." He tells her.
"Well sir we now have pictures of all the criminals that walk around in plain sight. They are all going down tomorrow." She tells him.
"Captain, we will be with you and all the teams to the end. This is our state and we want them all brought to justice." He tells her.
"Yes sir I understand and we are going to do our damndest to take them all down. It may not be tomorrow but we will get them all before we leave here. That is a promise and I always keep my promises. Ask my teams and my husband." She tells him.
"I have no doubt you will. From your record you have not failed a mission. Not even when you were younger and working for our President." He tells her.
She looks at him without saying anything.
"Yes young lady, I know all about your time with our ex-president. As a matter of face every FBI Captain and Director knows. We do not know the capacity of what you did but we do know that you never failed one mission that was given to you. You led a team of men and women at the age of nineteen and they followed you without question or judgment even though you were younger than they were." He tells her kindly.
"I didn't know all that was made available to you sir." She says.
"Well young lady let me just say that when you were working for the president I was working for your father as his right hand man." He told her.
"Enough said sir. Thank you for the praise but as I said if it wasn't for my team I couldn't have done all this. They were with me hundred and fifty percent." She told him, smiling.
"Yes they were and as far as I can see they are still with you and you have acquired quite a few more. From what I heard earlier you have some that followed you from Florida and Agent Burt Jonas spoke very highly of you. Only knowing you for just a few days?" He asked her.
"Yes sir, the team I was leading at age nineteen are some of the ones that helped with the mission in Seattle and all the other ones we have been on from South Carolina to the east coast to Florida and now here. You know I really wanted to tell everyone in the family that we knew each other when we were in Seattle but I couldn't do that because of the missions we were on back when I was a teenager. All of that is top secret and will stay top secret." She tells with a sad look in her eyes.
"I know Captain but some things can not be revealed for security reasons. There are missions your father and I have been on that you know nothing about." He told her.
"I know but I have never lied to Christian but I had to and the agents had to act like they had never met me except the ones that worked on missions with me after I turned twenty." She told him.
"Yes I know and I can feel for you because I can't tell my family about my missions." He tells her.
"Well it is what it is and we make do. There are just too many people that can take advantage of us if they knew about our missions." He told her.
"Sorry to interrupt but it is our time to leave Captain Trevelyan. Captain Stowers, your men are waiting on you right down the road in the black SUV sir." He tells him.
"Thank you Agent Morris." He says.
"Captain Trevelyan we will finish our chat later with your father." He tells her.
"Be safe out there and watch your six sir." She told him.
"We will all convene here in the ballroom at O800 for breakfast and to finalize our plans." He tells them as Agent Morris is waiting on his Captain.
"Yes sir." She replies.
Captain Stowers walks off to join his men down the road.
"Alright Captain Trevelyan we are ready to go as soon as Captain Stowers arrives at his SUV." He tells her.
"Thank you Agent Morris, please have the team ready to go. Thank you." She says.
"Yes ma'am right away." He replies, turning to walk over to the team.
She walks over to her father. "Daddy, are you ready for this? I hope it will be a quick takedown but I am not going to hold my breath because we never know who could be lurking inside. Even though our informant said no one is there but the guards stationed outside to keep the children in the houses. I want to get the children out of those houses and to the hospital as soon as we can. There is no telling what is crawling around in those basements or if they are dry or wet down there. She tells him looking around at her team and knowing they are with her one hundred and fifty percent.
"Yes Annie I agree with you we never know if someone has snuck someone in before we got here and our informant doesn't know about it. I am hoping and praying no one is hiding anywhere to hinder us from our mission." He tells her to hug her.
"I know what you mean daddy and I feel like we can trust the informant. From what I know of him and the thorough Deep Sea Dive we did on him I believe he is a good man who just got in with the wrong crowd trying to be like them. It's like I said before. He seemed like a well together young man just down on his luck and got in trouble with the law for selling drugs and he doesn't even do drugs. He has been tested and tested with his hair every test comes back clean, not even an aspirin." She tells him.
"That is great news and I know you can read people like a book so I believe you know what you are talking about." He tells her
"Okay my dear let's head out Morris is waving to us." He tells her, pulling her in for another tight hug.
They walk over to her team and go out the door.
"Alright team, you all know what house you are supposed to go to and take care of the children as soon as our team takes down the guards. Be safe, be smart and watch each other's sixes." She tells them.
"Yes Captain we will. You do the same. Ray you watch after our Captain sir?" He says
"You got it Morris I won't let her out of my sight until I leave for the hospital with the children and then we got Eagle eye Donovan." He tells him.
"Oh yes sir we certainly do." He laughs.
"Okay, alright let's go you two clowns." She tells them.
"Well then missy you can buy my coffee later." Ray tells her.
"Which do you prefer, Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts daddy?" She asks him, laughing.
"Oh you come on, the van is waiting on us." He tells her.
"Lead the way sir." She tells him.
They all walk out and get in the vans and make their way to the beach area where the houses are located.
"Alright everyone you all know what we have to do. So let's get on with it. Communicate through your electronics, remember to speak normally. These things are sensitive and everyone can communicate together with me or your Captain or any agent. We will know when our guards have been posted on their watch. Then we will proceed to the houses." She tells them.
"Captain, all the guards have been taken care of and our team is changing places with them. It is your call when you want to take the house." He tells her.
"Ten-four guards at each door and side of the house. Back of the house is covered." She tells them.
"Yes Captain, all covered all the way around." He tells her.
"Let's go ladies and gentlemen, lock and load we have precious children to save. On my mark we take all three houses. 3, 2, 1. Now, now go, go." She tells everyone.
They have a battering ram if needed to break the door down.
The Captain notices a glare from the lights and walks over and sees a window and pushes the bushes away hoping she can see inside.
"Look here Steele I have a window to the basement? We need something to clean this window off with. My hand isn't working, it's too dirty. I want to look inside if I can." She tells him.
"Hold on Captain I found a rag and a water hose. Let me wet the rag real quick." He tells her.
He brings the wet rag back over to her and she wipes the window off so she can look inside. What she sees makes her want to cry.
"Sir, from what I can see those children are laying on the floor. Let's get them out of there." She tells her daddy.
"Alright y'all let's open the doors now." Steele orders them all.
All you can hear is breaking and splintering wood. Next you hear screaming, crying and yelling.
"Doors open Captain. My god these poor children are crammed in there. My lord, how many are there? I believe there are more than forty Captain." He tells her.
Captain Trevelyan walks around the back of the house to the basement door and walks inside. She has to hold her breath because of the stench. It is a horrendous smell. These bastards didn't even have the decency to have a bathroom for the children.
"Get these children out of here now." She says as calmly as she can so she doesn't scare the children.
"Children, I am Captain Anastasia Trevelyan of the FBI and we are here to save you all. My agents are going to take you all to the buses we have and there are doctors and nurses waiting to help you all." She tells them.
"Have you all had food and water? Are you hungry and thirsty? We have bottles of water for all of you. Please follow my agents to the buses." She tells them.
"Captain, there are more children upstairs and there are two men and a woman with them. They take us all up there a few at a time and bring us back." An older girl tells her.
The Captain looks like she has seen a ghost after the girl tells her about the children being upstairs with adults.
"Honey what do they do to you all when you go upstairs?" She asks her.
"They make us take off our clothes and they look at our bodies. Then they throw these clothes at us to put on. They say they can't do anything to us now but later. That is all the man says and laughs. The other two just look at us weirdly." She tells all of them standing there.
"Okay hun thank you. Have they hit any of you?" She asked them.
They all shook their heads no.
"Thank god for that. Now do any of you know if they have weapons of any kind?" She asked them.
"We haven't seen anything." Another child spoke up.
"Alright now you all go with my agents and we will take care of the children upstairs and the adults." She tells them.
"Captain, they are in the room down the hall, the last two doors on the right." Another speaks up.
"Thank you hun. Now go all of you." She tells them rushing them out the door. They have to get upstairs and save the other children.
"Alright everyone I know you all heard what the children said. Make sure you do not leave that house unless you check upstairs. Check with the children and ask them if there are children upstairs or anyone up there." She orders them.
"Yes ma'am we heard every word and we will check with the children and upstairs." He tells her.
"Captain we heard as well. These poor children are all huddled together. The floor is wet and the smell is god awful. These bastards could have had the common decency to have buckets in here for them." Donovan says.
"Children, my name is Agent Donovan of the FBI and we are here to save you all and take you to the hospital to be checked out. Are there any other children or adults upstairs?" She asks them as they are walking out the door.
"No ma'am no kids are upstairs unless they brought them in up there. They brought all of us in through the basement door there." She pointed to the door they are all walking out of.
"Alright my men are going to double check." She tells them.
They all nod and keep walking.
"You all are going to get a bath and clean clothes. We have buses out here and I need you all to go and get on them please. Thank you now hurry as fast as you can because my men need to check upstairs.
"Captain, the children are getting on the buses. I have four agents going upstairs to see if there is anyone hiding up there. Will give you an update as soon as I know." Donovan tells her.
"Ten-four Donovan." Captain replies.
"Captain We heard and we will send agents up stairs after we have the children secure on the buses. These children are soaking wet. The basement floor is wet and cold and the smell is my god… I have no words for it. I don't see how these children are not sick. Just looking at this basement makes me sick. I am sure some of them are sick or will be. This place needs to be torn down." Agent Jonas tells her.
"Thank you all now make sure you all double check any rooms closets, pantry you name it. Any place you think they might be hiding or wouldn't be hiding. Leave nothing untouched. I've seen scum hide under the sink, in cabinets. I want two agents together at all times. No one goes anywhere alone. Did you all copy that?" She asked them all through the earpiece.
They all say ten-four yes Captain.
"Agent Washington, you and I will check the kitchen and the living room area.' She tells him.
"Yes Captain Trevelyan." He replies.
"Agents Price, Standridge, Staton and Montgomery report where you are in the house. Agent Washington and I are in the kitchen as of now." She tells them.
"Captain, we are heading down the hall to the rooms the children told us about. It is so quiet I mean radio silent no noise at all. We will be back with you as soon as we get the door open." Price tells her.
Before they can open the door the Captain and Agent Washington are standing there with them.
"We thought you were checking downstairs Captain." He tells her.
"We were but I sent a few more men in to check all the nooks and crannies. I want to be here for the action." She tells them.
"Now Captain we can't have you playing hero again. Please don't make me have to call your father and tell him something has happened to you again." Montgomery replies.
"Yes Agent Montgomery I will not get myself shot or hurt. Thank you for your concern but let's get this door open. Agent Staton, you and your men open the other door. Kick em in men." She tells them.
The doors slam open and the rats try to scurry away.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you all. You have all these guns pointed at your heads. Now my agents are not trigger happy by no means but when it comes to children well let's say..I can't control them not to blow your heads off." She tells them.
"I am Captain Anastasia Trevelyan of the FBI and these men are my agents." She tells them.
The men look at her and then at each other and start laughing.
"I would say gentlemen but you all are not fit to be called nothing but scum. I know why you all are laughing but don't let my size fool any of you." She tells them looking each one in his eyes.
"Children are y'all alright?" She asked them.
"Yes ma'am we just want to go home. Tell them to give us our clothes back." The child replies.
"You all are under arrest for Sex Trafficking and kidnapping.
"You said you are the Captain?" One girl asks her.
"Yes hun I am what do you need?" She asks her.
"Just want you all to know there are two men and a woman hiding in the closet over there next to the window." She tells her pointing behind the agents.
"Thank you hun and what is your name?" She asks her.
"My name is Coletti Cortez." She tells her.
"Thank you Ms. Cortez and we are taking you all out of here and to the hospital to be checked over to make sure you all are alright. Are there any more children in this room anywhere?" She asks them.
"No ma'am, just us three." She replies crying.
"Oh honey it's going to be alright. You will never see these scumbags again." She tells her and the other girls,
"This is Agent Price of the FBI. Open this door nice and slowly and walk out with your hands above your heads. We have guns trained on the door. No sudden moves." He tells them.
The door opens slowly then they try to run out of the door.
They get tripped up by the agents falling flat on their faces.
"Now why did you all have to go and do something so stupid. Now you are getting blood all over this pretty beige carpet." She tells them.
"Get your asses off the floor and stand up." She tells them looking down at them.
They scramble up off the floor bumping into each other in their haste to do as the Captain says.
She stands there looking at all of them.
Agents bring the scumbags in from the other room." She tells them.
They walk in the door or what is left of the door and pushes the scumbags inside.
"Now I have you all here and all of you are under arrest for Sex Trafficking and kidnapping. Everyone of you hand over your ID's." She tells them.
"You have the right to remain silent
Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
You have the right to an attorney.
If you cannot afford an attorney one will be provided for you.
Do you understand the rights I have just read to each of you?
With those rights in mind do you wish to talk to me?
They all look at her but say nothing.
"Agents cuff them and take them to the prison bus, Get the scum out of my sight."
The woman closest to the Captain and the door tries to push her way past. Uh Oh
She gets closer to the Captain and the Captain sees her.
She steps in her way and the woman tries to spit in the Captain's face. Oh hell wrong move.
The Captain sees what she is going to do and backs away.
"Let me stop you right there young miss. If you think I won't retaliate you must have mush for brains." The Captain tells her
"You are just a Puta…a Puta..a bitch a whore not worth my eyes looking at you." The woman tells her as she closes her eyes and tries to ram the Captain.
She sees and side steps and the woman falls on her face because she has handcuffs on. She breaks her nose. You can hear it crunch and crack.
"Get this piece of shit out of my sight before I do something." She tells her men.
"Bitch you broke my fucking nose." She yells at the Captain.
"No you did that and you lost some teeth by the way." The Captain tells her pointing to the top of her mouth.
"Oh my lord, give the woman a napkin. She is bleeding everywhere." The Captain tells them.
"Alright, alright show is over, get them out of here.
All the way down the hall and down the stairs the woman is bitching at the Captain.
As they get down the stairs they see four agents with six more people.
"Where the hell did they come from?" The Captain asks them.
"Well these two here were in the cabinets as you said someone might be. This one here was trying to hide behind the refrigerator..he rolls his eyes.. and this one here was on top of the cabinets. I just happened to see one of the other ones glancing up that way. Sneaky little bastards." He tells her.
"Well I be damn. Have they been told why they are being arrested and have they had their rights read to them?" The Captain asks them.
"Yes Captain they have and they refuse to talk to us." He tells her.
"Very well take them to the prison bus with the rest of the scum." She tells him and all the agents standing there.
"I am going to the hospital and check on the children and then I will be at Headquarters later." She tells her men.
"Ten-four Captain." He replies.
They half walked, half dragged the scum out the door to the prison bus. They were trying to drag their feet not wanting to go. They all knew what awaited them and it wasn't good. People in prison do not like sex traffickers and pedophiles.
Captain Trevelyan and some of her agents walk into the hospital and up to the emergency room desk.
"How may I help you officer?" The nurse asked Captain Trevelyan.
"Yes ma'am I am Captain Anastasia Trevelyan of the FBI and my agents Montgomery and Staton. I would like to know where the children are that were brought in an hour ago. There are some of my agents with them." Captain Trevelyan tells her.
"Yes ma'am one moment I will have one of the doctors come and talk to you Captain Trevelyan. If you all would have a seat in the waiting area over there to your left. Thank you." She tells them.
"Hello this Nurse Yates. I have Captain Anastasia Trevelyan of the FBI and some of her agents here in the emergency room. She would like to talk to the doctor in charge of the children that were brought in earlier. They have FBI agents with them." She tells the person she is talking to.
"Nurse Yates this is Nurse Connelly I will let Dr. Evanson know and he will be out momentarily." She tells her.
"Thank you, I will let the Captain know." She tells her.
She gets up and walks over to the waiting area.
"Captain Trevelyan the Dr. Evanson will be with you momentarily." She tells her.
"Thank you Nurse Yates. I appreciate that." She tells her.
"Captain, would you like something to drink? I am a little parched." He asks her.
"Yes, a bottle of water sounds refreshing. Montgomery, would you care for something?" She asked him.
"Yes please thank you." He tells her.
"I am going to ask the nurse where the break room is." He tells them.
"Excuse me ma'am could you point me in the direction of the break room? I would like to get us something to drink." He tells her.
"Oh that won't be necessary sir we have bottled water, juice and drinks here in our fridge and have coffee as well." She tells him.
"Thank you ma'am, three bottles of water will be fine." He tells her.
He takes the water and thanks her and walks back over to the waiting area.
"Here you go, Captain and Montgomery." He tells them handing the water bottles over to them.
"That was fast." The Captain says after taking a sip of her water.
"The nurse had it in their fridge and offered it to us." He tells them.
"That was mighty nice of her." Montgomery replies.
"Yes it was, it saved me walking to the other side of the hospital to get us something." He tells him.
"Ah yes, just what I needed. Cold and refreshing. Thank you Agent Staton for thinking of this." She tells him as she looks up and sees a doctor approaching them.
He walks in the waiting room and over to them. "Hello, I am Dr. Peter Evanson and you must be Captain Trevelyan?" He says, shaking her hand.
"Yes sir I am nice to meet you and these gentlemen are my agents Staton and Montgomery sir." She introduces them to the doctor.
He shakes their hands.
"My nurse said you wanted to talk to the doctor in charge of the children that were brought in." He tells her.
"Yes sir, I would like to know their condition. We saved all of the children that were brought into the hospital from unearthly, ungodly conditions in wet basements." She tells him sadly.
"Captain Trevelyan, those children should have never been in places like that. It is a wonder they are not all sick. Do you know how long they were in the basements?" He asked her.
"No sir we do not know and to my knowledge the bathrooms were upstairs but there were no bathroom facilities, not even a bucket for them to use in the basement sir." She tells him.
"My lord, what kind of people would do that to these children? He asks her.
"Sir, some very sick people. I would like to explain that to you and your staff but I need for everyone to sign an NDA sir. We cannot let anyone know these children are here and have been rescued. My agents have the necessary forms for all of you to read and sign please. Thank you sir." She tells him.
"Captain Trevelyan I understand and even though I and all the medical staff have given the oath to protect our patients. We will be glad to sign this form." He tells her.
"Thank you sir, I appreciate your cooperation very much." She tells him.
"Now we have quite a few doctors and nurses attending to the children. They are being treated for starvation and dehydration. They all are in need of baths and clean clothes. We have given each of them scrubs to wear since their clothes were filthy and they are preparing showers for them. Agent Steele stepped out and Agent Barrows was in the room with the young ladies as I and my nurses treated for some cuts and bruises, nothing major I tell you." He tells her.
"Thank you sir and yes we will be getting clothes for the children. The ages we were told were between fourteen and seventeen is that right Dr. Evanson?" She asked him.
"Yes ma'am you are right. Well the ones I have treated. I am not sure how old the other young ladies are. After they have all been checked we will have a list of names for you with their parents names and phone numbers hopefully. There are a few that are scared to talk to us." He tells her.
"Thank you sir. Yes I encountered the same thing with a few of them. They would not look at me. They could be runaways or just very scared. I didn't say anything to them." She tells them.
"We need a total of children sir. We were told there were forty children in the three basements. I believe there were a lot more. They were crammed in there like sardines sir." She tells him.
"Were any of the children harmed in any way?" She asked him.
"No ma'am not that we know and the young ladies or children as you refer to them. They have stated they were not touched." He tells her.
"Thank god for that." She says to no one in particular.
"Yes thank god for that." He replies.
"Captain Trevelyan we have a total on the children and you will not believe it. It is outrageous ma'am." Agent Barrows tells her.
"I knew there were more than one hundred and twenty children. Alright Agent Barrows, how many precious children are there?" She asked taking a seat and sitting down.
"Captain, we have one hundred and eighty seven young girls. They must have had them so tight in that basement that someone missed counting them. Or they were brought in from upstairs and no one saw them." She tells her.
"That would be my guess and I am wondering if they disguised them as adults and no one noticed the difference especially if it was at night." She says.
"That is possible and we know the ones that were watching them were not that close to them. So that could be how come the numbers don't add up." She tells her.
"Excuse me Captain, I just wanted you to know that all the medical staff and the workers here all signed their NDAs." Agent Montgomery tells her.
"Thank you Agent Montgomery. I appreciate that. Would you and Staton go with Barrows and wait outside doors four and five please. Some of the children are in those rooms and we do not want anyone not authorized to go in." She tells them.
'Yes Captain.' They all say and walk off.
