Chapter 43 Part 15 The Truth Is Coming Soon.
This is going to start getting very emotional the further the chapter goes. Just a heads up. You May Need Kleenex. This is not going to be cut and dried. Arrest the people and go to the next one. Nope this is going to take time as I said it will be emotional in places.
"Now what in the blue blazes are you doing here sir? I know you are over all of us. Well you and Uncle J. I mean President Johnson." She slams her hand over her mouth thinking to herself why in the world did I say that to him. "I am sorry sir. I apologize for my outburst just now." She told him.
"Now Annie dear you know what I do and who I am. Not only that, you know who is beside me and I answer to him. If he deems it necessary for me to come and see you then this is where I will be. Besides I haven't seen you in a few years and when J mentioned you and Ray I jumped on the bandwagon pretty quick. I had to come and see for myself just how BadAss you still are my dear." He tells her.
"Well I hope you told Margaret where you were going." She tells him.
'Yes she knows but doesn't know what is going on and that you are here. She would have rushed me out of the office and to the house with curlers in her hair to get on a plane down here to see you." He tells her laughing.
They all laugh.
"So true, so true." Annie tells him.
They stop talking when Mr. Belmont and Agent Donovan walk in with Ray.
"What can I do for you Captain Trevelyan?" Mr. Belmont asked her, looking around the room and noticing the young girl sitting there.
"Mr. Belmont I need to speak to you privately sir." She tells him.
"Come with me to the other conference room, Captain." He tells her.
"Jessie I won't be gone long. This is my father Raymond Steele he is an agent with the FBI and this is Agent Paula Donovan. I believe you met them earlier. I am sure you know who this man is right here, our esteemed President Johnson. I will introduce you to this gentlemen very soon. Will you be alright until I come back?" She asked her.
"Yes ma'am. I met your father and Agent Donovan when we were brought to the hospital." She tells her.
"Alright we will return soon." She tells her.
"Annie, there will be two of my men with you until you return here." Uncle J tells her.
"Yes sir." She replies and they walk out the door.
"Hello Stan and Barry, how are you two doing?" Ana asked them as they walked down the hall.
"Doing good Captain and you?" They both asked her.
"Doing as well as can be with all this going on." She tells them.
They stop in front of a door.
"Before you go in I need to secure it ma'am." Barry tells her.
"Of course Barry." She replies.
"All secure and safe Captain. We will be right here if you need us." He tells her as he closes the door.
"Captain Trevelyan what is going on? You are very worried I can see that." He tells her.
"Sir yes I am deeply worried and troubled as you and everyone will be soon." She tells him as she walks over to the table and sits down.
"Have you and your team found more information on these criminals?" He asked her.
"Yes we have but what I need to talk to you about is not on the background checks." She tells him.
He just sits there looking at her waiting for her to continue.
"Sir, what I am about to show you will blow your mind." She tells him looking him straight in his eyes.
She hands him a piece of paper and he looks at it. Then looks again and then starts to speak but looks at the paper again and at the Captain.
"Is this true? My god her daughter has been missing for over seven months. Her body was never found. Are you sure this is her?" He asked her.
"Yes I am sure. We are going to do a DNA test but I see no reason for her to lie about her name and her parents. Look at this picture, she looks just like her mother." She tells him as she gives him a picture she took of Jessie on her phone.
"Yes she does. Oh my god this is going to be quite a big shock for her mother and oh my lord for Jessie too. Why haven't you gotten her up here to see her daughter?" He asked her while looking at the picture.
"Well sir the last thing she can remember is that she took a nap on her dad's boat and the next time she woke up in that damn wet, nasty basement. She has been there this whole time." She tells him as she stands up and walks over to the window looking out.
"Are you saying they or her father knew about this the whole time?" He asked her as he walked over to stand beside her.
"I don't know if they both knew about it or just the father. That is why I haven't contacted her mother or her father." She tells him as she starts rubbing her forehead.
I understand what you are saying. Now what are you planning to do with this information Captain?" He asked her as he pulled her hand away from her forehead.
"You are making it red, stop that." He tells her.
"You sound like my husband." She tells him laughing.
"Sorry I tend to do that when I am thinking heavily. I don't want her seeing either parent until we get to the bottom of this. She said her mom worked here. I told her I would find out. I just can't let her go to her mother without knowing if she knew what was happening to her daughter." She tells him as she throws her hands up in the air.
"I know what you are saying, Captain. Are you going to put her back in the room on the tenth floor for now? Did no one talk to them about how they got taken?" He asked her.
"Yes sir I am and I hope if she tells anyone why she left with me others might come forward and tell us what happened to them. Evidently not because Jessie didn't say anything about them asking her any questions like that. I know the groups I spoke with didn't mention anything like what Jessie told me." She tells him.
"Yes, let's hope they will. I am sure they are blocking it out." He tells her.
"I am sure some of them have put the kidnapping in a box with a lock and key and buried it deep within the recesses of their mind." She tells him.
"Well sir, that is what I needed to talk to you about. We will go on as before. Her mother will not know anything right now. I feel like it is her father but we have to go by the book and check everything out. I know she wants her mother but I can't bring her forward right now." She tells him as she walks over to the fridge and grabs two bottles of water and gives him one.
"What are we going to tell her about her mother, Captain? You know she is going to ask for her." He tells her as he takes the bottle of water.
"I think it would be best if you explain to her that her mother is on a business trip looking at new medical equipment for your hospital and she will be away for a few days." She tells him.
"Yes, yes that will work. I will tell her that she has been gone for a few days and now that you are providing more funds for the hospital her mother is checking on more medical options for us." He tells her waiting to see if she agrees with him.
"Yes sir, that will work I do believe." She replies.
"Shall we go back and talk to her first? Then you can take her back to the other young ladies." He tells her as he is walking to the door.
"Yes sir and then we will all convene in your conference room when I return." She tells him as she walks out the door behind him.
"Guys I will be going to the tenth floor in a little while and as you know you will be going with me. I just wanted you both to know what I will be doing as I am taking a young lady back up there." She tells them as they walk down the hall to the conference room door.
"Yes ma'am Captain just let us know when you are ready to go." Barry replies.
The door opens and they walk in.
"Jessie, Mr. Belton has something he needs to tell you and then I am taking you back up to the tenth floor." She tells her.
"Alright Captain Trevelyan." She tells her.
"Jessie, your mother is away right now. She has been gone for a few days and will not be back for two more days. She is in the process of looking at new medical equipment for the hospital. Now since Captain Trevelyan has graciously added to our funds with her generous donations your mom will be home within two days has made her trip shorter." He tells her as he sits down across from her.
"Alright I can wait two more days. Does anyone know where my dad is at the moment? I know they told me he drowned when our boat capsized but I don't believe them." She tells them as she looks at all of them with tears running down her face. Ana gives her a kleenex to use.
"Jessie I took the liberty of checking on him after Captain Trevelyan told us who you were and your parents were. No hun your father is not dead. He is out at the border patrolling and has been for the last week. He is due to come in by the end of the week. So rest assured he is not dead." Paula tells her.
"Thank you Agent Donovan for checking on him. Those people were so mean and cruel when they told me that." She tells her as she is wiping tears.
"You are very welcome hun." Paula tells her, smiling.
"Come on Jessie, let's get you upstairs so you can eat and rest a while. I know I have asked you but I am asking again are you going to be alright up there?" Ana tells her as she holds her hand out for her again to take.
Jessie nods her head and puts her hand right in Ana's and they walk out the door.
"Alright guys, let's go to the tenth floor." She tells them as they are walking to the elevator.
They all get in the elevator and security pushes the button for the tenth floor. As the doors open one of the security guards walks out first checking everything is clear.
They all walk out and go to the door for the reception room where all the girls and security are staying.
"Jessie, are you sure you are going to be alright here?" Ana asked her as she looked at her.
"Yes Captain, I will be fine. I think I will talk to the other girls and find out where they were taken from. I want to make some friends even if we are here. When we were in that basement no one wanted to talk. We all just sat there praying for our families or someone to rescue us." She tells Ana as she rubs her hands together.
"Alright then let us go in and maybe each of you can help the other through this ordeal." Ana tells her as she holds her hand out for her to take.
Jessie does and they walk in together over the table where some young ladies are sitting.
"Hello ladies, do you mind if Jessie sits with you all?" Ana asks them all as she looks at them to gauge if they do or don't want her sitting with them.
"Yes Captain Trevelyan it is alright." One young lady tells her as she stands up and walks over to them.
'Hey Jessie how are you? My name is Corina and I will let them introduce themselves to you." She tells as she takes her hand and walks around the table to the two empty chairs.
"Hey Corina I am hanging in there thank you and how are you holding up?" She asked her.
"As good as can be expected under these circumstances." She tells her.
All the girls introduced themselves to Jessie and Ana felt like she was alright so she decided to leave her.
"Jessie I have to go to a meeting but I will be back to check on all of you later. If any of you need me for any reason. Please have one of my agents call me and I will be here." She tells all of them.
"Yes ma'am we will thank you Captain we will see you later." Jessie and some of the girls said if they needed her they would let someone know.
Ana walks to the door and looks back at Jessie and the other girls. They are talking. She walks out the door and goes to the elevator with the security guards.
"Guys I am going to the fifth floor and back to the conference room with your bosses. We will be there for a while. Yes I know you will not leave your post." She tells them as they wait for the doors to open.
They walk into the elevator and Ana pushes the button for the fifth floor. They wait for the door to open and one of the guys walks out before Ana does.
"All clear Captain and we will be here if any of you need us ma'am. The bosses already know we are here." He tells her as he opens the door for her to go into the conference room.
"Alright now I have Jessie situated with some of the young ladies and they were talking when I left them. I did tell her and them if they needed me to let one of my agents know and I would be there for them." She tells them as she walks over to the fridge and grabs a cold bottle of water. She holds her bottle up and points to it.
They all shake their heads no.
"Now let's get down to the nitty gritty of what the hell is going on with Jessie's parents. I agree with Ana that it is her father not her mother that did this. I want to know why the bastard did it. What was in it for him and who is he scared of?" He tells them all as he slams his hand down on the table.
"Yes sir and we have his background check right here. You will not believe who he has connections with or did have connections with. Now he answers to this person right here." Ana points to the person on the paper and looks at the man sitting beside her and his face is turning red.
"Sir breathe come on, breathe slow breaths in and out. That's it, calm down, slow breaths. Are you feeling better?" She asked him.
"Daddy please get him a bottle of water." She tells Ray.
"Are you going to be alright? You know your blood pressure went up well hell it skyrocketed. Margaret is going to have our heads if you wind up in the hospital." Uncle J tells him laughing trying to get him to calm down.
"Oh damn I am alright. Stop worrying so much about me." He tells them all as he waved them away.
They all sit there making sure he is alright before anyone says anything.
"I said I am alright now, give me that file again Captain Trevelyan." He holds his hand out for it. "Now Captain."
He tells her as he is waiting for the file.
"Yes sir, here you go. If you get upset again I will take it away and call Margaret to talk to you." Ana tells him, eyeing him up.
"Damn and you would to wouldn't you?" He asked her, looking at her and pointing to the file in her hand.
"Damn skippy I would and I will sir." She tells him as she hands over the file.
"Alright now bring my boys in here please." He tells Ray.
"Yes sir right away." Ray says as he stands up and opens the door for the security guards to walk in.
"Please come inside and your boss needs to talk to you both." Ray tells them and points to the big boss sitting beside Captain Trevelyan.
They walk over to him and stand waiting for him to speak.
"Stan, I need you and Barry to go and arrest these two men. They are in Chicago right now campaigning. I will call Evan and Darian to come and take your place. They are upstairs with the young ladies." He tells them as he is on the phone himself.
"Annie, we have plenty of agents up there right?" He asked her before he placed the call.
"Yes sir we have plenty sir." She tells him as she looks at her father and Uncle J.
"Hello sir, how can I be of service?" The man on the other end asked him.
"I need for you and Darian to come down to the fifth floor and stand guard. I have another job for Agents Roper and Stone as they need to leave their post for now." He tells them.
"Yes sir we will be right there." Evan tells him as they are walking over to Captain Trevelyan's agents and letting them know where they are going.
They arrive on the fifth floor and knock on the door.
"Come in guys and let me introduce you as you will be Captain Trevelyan's guards as long as we are here. Mr. President has his own men outside the door." He tells them.
"Lady and gentlemen, for the ones of you that do not know my security this is Evan Roper and Darian Stone." He tells them as he points to each man,
"Nice to meet you Captain Trevelyan and all." They say.
"Nice to meet you both and I am sure I will be seeing you all later." She tells them.
"Yes ma'am you will." Roper tells her as he turns to his boss.
"Now guys I want you outside this door and no one comes in without our approval. Make sure you check their credentials thoroughly." He tells them with authority.
"Yes sir, we will double check anyone that comes to the door." Stone tells him.
"I need to make a phone call, gentlemen, if you will bear with me for a moment." She stands up and walks over to the window.
"Agent Morris I want you and Agents Tomlin and Rivers to go to the Border Patrol office and find out where this man is. I am sending you a picture of him and his name. I wanted him in jail yesterday. Do Not let him get away. He is wanted for the kidnapping of his daughter as he helped the Sex Trafficking and Human Trafficking men and women take her." She tells them with so much venom as she is speaking to him.
"Yes ma'am we will be right on it as soon as i pick up the warrant for his arrest. As I am sure you already have talked to the judge Captain." He tells her as he rounds up the guys.
"Of course I have and the arrest warrant is waiting for you. Bring him to me alive. He has a lot to answer for." She tells him as she squeezes the bottle of water in her hand and doesn't realize the water is coming out of the top like a geyser.
"Yes Captain ten-four we will see you at Headquarters." He tells her.
"Yes you will and you all be careful. He is armed because he is a border patrol. Make sure you take everything off of him that he could use against you." She tells him.
"Yes ma'am we will and goodbye." He says as he hangs up.
"Alright that is taken care of. Now what is next gentlemen?" Ana asked them all.
Before they can reply there is an urgent knock on the door.
Ray gets up and walks to the door.
"Captain Trevelyan we have a young lady out here to see you with a few more young ladies. They say it is imperative that they speak with you all now." Stan says as they haven't left their post yet.
"Please let them come in." Ana tells him.
Jessie walks in with three young ladies and they are all crying and very upset.
"Jessie what in the world is going on hun?" Ana asks her as she gets up and walks over to them.
"Captain Trevelyan I am sorry to burst in like this but i felt like you need to know what is going on with these girls." She tells her crying and holding onto one of the girls that is barely holding it together.
"Sir, do we have your people on the way to talk to these young ladies? " She asked him.
"Yes Captain, they should be here very soon." He tells her.
"Do you all want to talk here or elsewhere? It is up to you all. No one is going to force you to talk in front of all of us." Ana tells them as she looks at all of them.
"Hun what in the world. Come and sit down, what is your name?" Ana asks her kindly.
"My name is Becca and I want to know where my parents are. I remember being taken from the mall after the same woman that came to see us in the basement. She is the one that gave me a bottle of water and I drank some of it, not all of it. I wasn't feeling good and she said she would take me to my mother but that is all I remember until I woke up in the dark smelly basement." She tells Ana and everyone crying and shaking like a leaf.
"Hey, hey you are safe here. No one is going to hurt you." Ana says as she hands her a handkerchief and Paula gives her a bottle of water.
"Thank you ma'am." She tells Paula.
Paula nods and smiles at her.
"Who are your parents Becca and do you know how long you have been in that basement?" Ana asked her as she was holding her to keep her from shaking.
She tells them and they are shocked.
"Ladies please tell me your first names and write down your parents names." She tells them kindly.
"My name is Jamie." She tells as she writes her parents names down on the paper.
"My name is Bethany." She does the same.
"Alright Jamie, do you know where you were taken from and how long you have been in that basement?" Ana asks her as she looks at the parents' names.
"I have been there for about three months. I have had three periods, sorry sirs." She tells them looking embarrassed now.
'It's alright." The big boss tells her.
Ana takes the attention away from Jamie.
"Bethany, do you know where you were taken from and how long you have been away from home?" Ana asked her.
"Not as long as they have, maybe a month." She tells Ana.
"Jessie, Becca, Jamie, Bethany we have some ladies from the Department of Justice office for victims of Human Trafficking. They will be in a few minutes and I would like for you all to talk to them about what has happened to you all. Can you do that for me?" She asked them all, looking at them carefully.
The girls look at each other and back at Ana.
"Yes Captain we can." They all say.
"Thank you and in the meantime we are going to find your parents." She tells them all.
"Captain Trevelyan, I have a Mrs. Amanda Lewis and Mrs. Joyce McFarlin here to talk to the young ladies." Agent Roper says as he opens the door wider.
"Yes Agent Roper please let them come in." Ana tells him as she stands up to greet them.
They walk in and see their boss and the President sitting there.
"Hello sirs, how are you all doing? We were not expecting to see either of you here." Mrs. Lewis says as she smiles at both of them.
"Hello Joyce I am doing good thank you and as you know I know Agent Steele and his daughter Captain Trevelyan. We came down to find out why these men and women are wanting to take these young ladies. I felt like it was time to show my face not just here but elsewhere." He tells Mrs. Lewis as he looks at her and Mrs. McFarlin.
"Well it is nice to see you sir and I am sure you all will get to the bottom of this." Mrs. McFarlin replies.
"Yes my dear we shall." He tells them and that is all he says.
"Captain Trevelyan you have the floor." He tells her as he sits back down.
"Welcome ladies it is nice to meet you as you heard my name is Captain Trevelyan actually it is Captain Anastasia Trevelyan of the FBI. This is my case and it is out of this world. As of right now it is only Human Trafficking as the young ladies have not been abused in any way except being kidnapped." She tells them as she looks at all the young ladies.
"Very nice to meet you Captain Trevelyan and yes my dear your name is well known to us." Mrs. Lewis tells her as she shakes her hand. Mrs . Lewis notices that the Captain's hand is soft but she has a strong grip not hurting though.
"Nice to meet Captain Trevelyan and we will help all of these young ladies. We will do what we can for all of them." Mrs. McFarlin tells her as she shakes her hand.
"Captain you said Human trafficking right now. What did you mean by that, may I ask?" She asked her.
"Of course you can and I meant the young ladies said they haven't been touched but that was going to change when they got them overseas and sold to the highest bidder as sex slaves ma'am." Ana tells her with a bitter taste in her mouth.
"I see I just had to make sure what you meant Captain." She tells her as she looks at the girls one at a time.
"We would like to take these young ladies to a secure place where we can talk and take down some information about them." Mrs. Lewis says
"Yes ma'am there is another conference room just two doors down that is secure. We will have security outside the door for your safety." She tells them as she walks to the door and opens it.
"Agents Roper and Stone would you be kind enough to show these ladies to the conference room two doors down from here please. I need you to make a sweep of the room and one of you to stand guard outside the door." She tells them as she turns around and motions for the young ladies to stand and follow the agents out the door.
"Yes ma'am we will take care of it." Roper tells her as he walks down the hall.
After everyone leaves. They start to work on the girls parents names and not only Ana but the others want to beat the parents black and blue..OUCH.
"Now let's see those background checks that are throwing up red flags and some people are in for a world of whoop ass." He tells her.
"Sir, such language." She tells him handing the folders over to him.
Ray, Paula and the President just sit there waiting to see what is going to happen next.
"Oh forgive me Annie but this burns my butt so bad. How could people do this to young girls? Even at my age I will never understand it, will any of you?" He asked all of them
"I doubt I will even if I live to be a hundred years old. Sir there are some sick people in this world. I don't know if they were born like this or if they have been around bad people all their lives and this is the only way they know." She tells him as she looks at everyone.
"Annie Rose, look at this one it is Becca's father's Background check. Did you get a chance to do your Deep Sea Diving on these scoundrels?" He asked her, looking at the file in front of him.
"No sir, not yet. I am waiting for my laptop to be brought to me." She tells him as she looks at another background check.
"Hell I don't need my laptop for this one. I see all the red flags right now and this person should be under the jail not at a business where young kids are at." She tells him.
"Daddy look at this one you know him right?" She asked him as she handed him the file.
"You have got to be kidding me. He is a known sex offender. Why in the world is he out of prison and working there?" He says as he gets on his phone.
