Chapter 10
Meetings
Back on Naboo Padme and Anakin were enjoying themselves in a grassy flowery field surrounded by waterfalls and shaaks were grazing constantly. While the humans were enjoying their picnic, the Autobots were surveying their surroundings getting the lay of the land.
"I don't know"said Padme.
"Sure you do...You just don't want to tell me " said Anakin.
"Are you going to use one of your Jedi mind tricks on me" asked Padme?
"They only work on the weak minded"said Anakin.
"All right. I was twelve. His name was Palo. We were both in the legislative youth program. He was a few years older than I. Very cute... dark curly hair...dreamy eyes" said Padme.
"All right I get the picture" said Anakin.
"Sounds like a real stud" said Wheelie chiming in.
"What ever happened to him" Anakin asked?
"Yeah if he was supposed to Mr perfect why didn't you two get hitched" asked Wheelie?
"I went on to Public Service. He went on to become an artist" said Padme.
"Maybe he was the smart one" said Anakin.
"Yeah politics aren't all that great, no offense Senator" said Wheelie.
"You really don't like politicians do you" asked Padme?
"I like two or three, but I'm not really sure about one of them" said Anakin.
Padme smiled and laughed at Anakin's response.
"I don't think the system works" said Anakin.
"How would you have it work" asked Padme?
"We need a system where the politicians sit down and discuss the problem, agree what's the best interest of all the people, and then do it" said Anakin.
"That's exactly what we do. The trouble is that people don't always agree" said Padme.
"Well, then they should be made to" said Anakin.
"By whom? Who's going to make them" asked Padme?
"I don't know Someone" said Anakin.
"You" asked Padme?
"Of course not me" said Anakin.
"But someone" said Padme.
"Someone wise" said Anakin.
" Sounds an awful lot like a dictatorship to me" said Padme.
"Well, if it works" said Anakin with a mischievous smile.
"You're making fun of me" said Padme laughing.
" No. I'd be much too frightened to tease a senator" said Anakin chuckling.
The day went on as the two humans roamed around the field. Anakin got the bright idea to try and ride one of the shaaks.
"Hey kid careful you don't fall and break your neck" Wheelie called out.
As soon as Wheelie said something, Anakin falls off the animal and face plants in the ground.
"Whoops. Spoke too soon" said Wheelie.
Padme and Bumblebee came rushing to his aid hoping he would be alright.
"Ani, Ani are you alright" Padme asked concerned?
As soon as Anakin turned over he started laughing.
Soon both the Jedi and the Senator were laughing and rolling down the hill enjoying each other's company.
"Aw I knew the kid was just fine. Never had a doubt in my mind. Right bee" said Wheelie.
"Sure you didn't"said Bumblebee sarcastically.
Back on Kamino Obi-Wan and Taun We were arranging meetings with The Bounty Hunter Jango Fett and the Autobot's medical officer Ratchet. Their first encounter was with the Bounty Hunter who had quite an influence in the creation of the clone army.
Taun we rings the bell and a small boy answers the door.
"Boba is your father here" asked Taun We?
"Yup" said Boba.
"May we see him"asked Taun we?
"Sure. Dad Taun We's here" called Boba.
Obi-Wan and Taun We entered the room and Obi-Wan began to look around until the father had entered.
"Jango welcome back. Was your trip productive" asked Taun We.
"Fairly" said Jango.
Obi-Wan bowed to the master of the house.
"This is Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. He's come to check on our progress" said Taun We.
"Your clones are very impressive you must be very proud" said Obi-Wan.
"I'm just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe" said Jango.
"Ever make your as far into the interior as Coruscant" asked Obi-Wan inquisitively?
"Once or twice" Jango replied.
"Recently" asked Obi-Wan?
"Possibly" replied Jango.
"Then you must know master Sifo-Diyas" said Obi-Wan.
Jango turned to Boba and told him to close the door containing his Mandolorian armor in Huttese and continued the conversation with Kenobi.
"Master who"asked Jango?
"Sifo-Diyas is he not the Jedi who hired you for this job " asked Obi-Wan?
"Never heard of him" said Jango.
"Really" said Obi-Wan.
"I was recruited by a man named Tyranus on one of the moons of Bogden" said Jango.
"Curious" said Obi-Wan.
"Do you like your army" asked Jango?
"I look forward to seeing them in action" said Obi-Wan.
"They'll do their job well. I'll guarantee that" said Jango.
"Thank you for your time Jango" said Obi-Wan as he bowed his head and made his way to the door.
"Always a pleasure to meet a Jedi" Said Jango.
As Taun We and Obi-Wan left Boba turned to his father and wondered what was going on.
"What is it dad" asked Boba?
Pack your things. We're leaving" said Jango.
As Boba left to pack his belongings a large battery pack began to transform into the robotic bird Lazerbeak having heard the entire conversation between Jango and the Jedi.
"Do you think he suspects anything"asked Laserbeak?
"Quite possibly, but we still need to be careful and plan our next move" said Jango.
"You should have let me kill him while we had the chance" said Laserbeak.
"Remember Laserbeak. There's an Autobot here, if he knew that you were also working with me the entire operation would be over" said Jango.
In the laboratories of Kamino a giant light green robot was checking the status's of the newest clone incubations when he had received two visitors.
"Ah Taun We how are you? I trust everything is still in perfect condition" asked the robot?
"Everything is still going according to plan. This is Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi he's come to check on our progress" said Taun We.
"Pleasure to meet you I am Ratchet medical officer to the Autobots" said Ratchet.
"I've come on behalf of your commander Ultra Magnus. He's wondering how things are going here"said Obi-Wan.
"I see. You can tell Magnus when you see him again that everything is going well" said Ratchet.
"Tell me Ratchet why are you helping the Kaminoans with the army" asked Obi-Wan curiously?
"Our planets have always shared information about one another and in the spirit of cooperation and friendship I volunteered my services to help grow and develop the clones to be ready when ever the threat of war comes" said Ratchet.
"Aren't you still on the lookout for the the device to help you locate the Allspark and rebuild your home world" asked Obi-Wan?
"Of course. Even though my time is spent here I'm still on my mission to help restore our home" said Ratchet.
"I hope your arm exceeds your expectations" said Ratchet.
"I'm sure they will. It was a pleasure meeting with you Ratchet" said Obi-Wan
"Likewise Master Jedi" said Ratchet, and with that Taun We and Obi-Wan left and let Ratchet return to his work.
Well there's another chapter in the bag. Once again I don't own these characters but the dialogue between Jango, Laserbeak, Taun We, Ratchet, Wheelie,an Bumblebee are mine. Hope everyone enjoys this chapter until then See ya.
