Eve could not remember a time when she felt content. Lust, Envy, Greed, Gluttony, Wrath, and Sloth, had always been constant companions to her, the sin of Pride far away from the others as she'd nothing to be proud of within that worthless realm. But as she felt the soothing warmth of El Elyon's creation, she felt all her ills fade away.
The sunlight on her skin, so far removed from the cold Not-Light that filled the Sideways place. The water, crystal clear and smooth, compared to the dirty oil-like liquid of her own creation. And the creatures…they were wonderful. They were not malformed, nor were they vicious and hateful as her own were, for even the daemons, for what brief time they existed, hated their creator just as much as they hated themselves. For Sin was self-destructive, Creation against itself, and it was filled with ugliness just as the rest of her creations had been.
But these weren't. They were filled with joy and love and were everything her own were not, for there was no place for the ugliness of Sin amongst El Elyon's creation. And now, she got to be with them, alongside her chosen consort.
SHE WAS GOING TO MAKE HIM SO HAPPY, UNLIKE THAT HARLOT!
"And what is this one called?" Eve lifted the long eel-like fish-thing as she stood hip deep in the crystal clear water. Adam said it was a shark, but it really didn't look like any she'd seen. Then again, the basking shark and the whale shark barely looked like them either.
"A frilled shark!" Adam grinned. "I wanted to name it the weird eel, but Father told me that it was made from the same template as the sharks were." He rubbed the back of his head. "I once asked him if humans had a template too, but he just smiled mysteriously and didn't answer."
"So all these creatures descended from one s-species?" She asked. It was strange speaking with an actual mouth, rather than pushing her feelings through the void, but she was getting used to it. Her long-forked tongue made it a hassle sometimes though. "Your Father really is brilliant to come up with them."
Carefully, she let go of the frilled shark, and it slowly wiggled away. Her hands were a little scratchy from touching it, but to have that sheer sensation was worth it.
"Don't I know it!" Reaching down, Adam pulled up a bizarre creature with a hard shell and spindly limbs and claws that waved around frantically. "I named these crabs!"
Eve rubbed her chin. "It does indeed look like crab." She could feel the [NAME] rolling through creation, defining the small creatures existence. It was much like how her own magics worked, but different.
El Elyon spoke creation into existence, every word from His voice bringing forth songs of command which brought order to the void. Eve saw this and tried to replicate, but her own songs were filled with discordant notes, making whatever she created flawed no matter what she did. But Adam's was like an echo of The Most High God, weaker than any angel's, yet still filled with the First Man's words all the same.
Made in the image of God indeed.
"Adam, when you name these creatures, do you…feel anything?" Eve questioned.
"Well, I kind of do." He scratched the back of his head. "Like, I don't really know how to describe it. A pull? Like some part of me is being pulled to help define them. It's kind of weird, and whenever I told Lilith about it, she'd get mad and-"
"She was just jealous." Eve interrupted. The Failed Woman had no place in Adam's heart, since it should only be filled with HER! "She couldn't handle the fact that you could Name while she couldn't."
"Well, she did get to name a few of the animals." Adam said. "Hyenas, Naked Mole Rats, the Honey Bees-"
"But she's nowhere near as talented as you are." Eve placed a hand on his shoulder, his tanned cheeks turning a slight crimson. "Naming is magic, and if you were put in charge of it, then it's clear that you're simply better at it than she is. And that…woman, couldn't handle it. You don't need to worry about her anymore though, since I can teach you all you need to know about the deeper mysteries."
"Y-you can?" Adam's smile would've brightened up the Sideways Place. "The angels never shared that with me, and I tried to do it on my own, but it just never really seemed to pan out." His cheeks reddened. "It was a bit embarrassing to try and set a bush on fire by shouting at it for a couple hours."
"Yes, well, at it's base, it's really quite s-simple." She held up her hand towards the water, fingers pointed straight. "When El Elyon spoke, His word became creation. When you Named me, you, in a way, helped create me, even if I existed for long before that. At the end of the day, magic is simply Words. And Words are power, for not even The Most High God can take back His word once spoken."
"Huh," Adam scratched his chin. "So it only works when I talk?"
"That is the Spoken Word. There is also the Written Word, but we can get into that later." She raised her arm up. "Watch closely now, and I shall show you how it is done." Whispers spilled from her lips, words dragged from the empyrean that governed meaning, the raw creation from which El Elyon had molded everything. As usual, the Sideways Place tainted her word, but the effect was still acceptable. Dropping her arm down, Eve uttered the Spoken Word.
"[K̴͇͋͠Ư̵̼̽D̦͎]." With a howl of wind, a large gash appeared in the waves, the sand briefly visible as the waters parted for a moment before filling back in. A little more power than she had wanted, but it had worked well enough. "I uttered the True Word of Cleave, and so it manifested as a cleave. Pretty neat huh?"
"Yeah!" Adam grinned. "So you're saying I can do that too?"
"Yep!" Maneuvering behind him, Eve pressed herself against his back, his head contained between her bosom. Towering over him, she saw his body react, his breath growing a little quicker. This pleased Eve, for she knew that SHE was the one who made him like this, not that blonde bitch!
ONLY EVE COULD MAKE HIM FEEL LIKE THIS!
"Now, let me help you." She grabbed his right arm, lifting it high. "Keep your fingers pointed. Now, can you feel the Word?"
Clenching his eyes shut, her hubby was silent for a couple moments, before he nodded. "Yeah, I…I think I can feel it!"
"Good, now grasp it." Eve could hear a slight layering in his voice, like two speaking at the same time as he began to touch the Word. "And once you've a firm grasp on it, all you need to do is speak it."
Adam brought his arm down.
"[KUD]!" There was movement in the water as a finger-sized cut appeared in the sea. "That's disappointing."
"It was a wonderful first attempt." Eve said. "And we've all day to improve. So, let's try it again. Raise your arm up and grasp the Word."
Hours passed by as she taught Adam the deeper mysteries, his cuts growing larger and larger until he could cleave through a whole meter of water. All the while, the smile on his face never left him.
And as she helped her husband back to the beach, sweating from the exertion that made his body glisten in the moonlight, Eve felt a bestial, lustful desire fill her. It was obvious what she needed to do, something that whore Lilith had neglected in doing.
Eve needed to do her wifely duties.
She licked her lips, long tongue running across her chin as they made their way back to Adam's cave.
EVE WOULD MAKE SURE THAT HE'D NEVER EVEN LOOK AT THE HARLOT EVER AGAIN!
xXx
Sera roamed above the forests of Eden, her many eyes trained on the area below. Lilith hadn't shown up for her tasks for a few days now, and Sera had begun to worry about the status of the First Woman.
Despite Lilith's attitude towards the Seraphim and the other angels, and her seemingly ever growing scorn, Seraphiel had never wished to see the woman unmade. Maybe a good talking to by God, but Lilith had seemed spoiled, rather than outright malicious. Sure, the First Woman would whine and complain, but outright disobedience?
That could not be tolerated. Not when those tasks she whined about were to prepare them for the worlds they would inherit, to help them thrive even if they ended up in the cold wastes of Nashiya or the rainforests of Adamah. They needed to learn these survival skills, else the angels would have to watch over them forever, like the caged children Lilith always said they were.
"Have you seen Helel?" Gabriel asked, flying towards her. Sera's true form was much like a bird, with many eyes littered over her wings and dress while a crown-like halo hung above her head. Gabriel on the other hand was in his more human form, for he never wished to scare Adam with his real appearance. Sera would admit, he was quite comely with his pale skin, long blonde hair, and blue eyes, with unraveled parchment hanging from his shoulders, trailing down his white robe. A far cry from his more armored appearance.
"No." Sera shook her head. "Looks like our little brother has pulled a disappearing act. As has Lilith." She pursed her lip. "I would like to think the best of our brother, but…"
"You think he has forsaken his duties and betrayed us." Gabriel said. "I never thought we'd actually have to deal with that concept."
Sera had thought the same.
Betrayal. The act of turning one's trust into falsity. Sera knew that all angels held their secrets, but to turn against the will of their Lord so thoroughly and abscond with the First Woman, defying God's design so thoroughly. She had thought her little brother a wildcard, an eccentric dreamer, but she may now have to change her view of him to that of an irresponsible child.
"I think the evidence is overwhelming." Gabriel's sighed. "Even Uriel's sight could not find them. We may need to gather the Seraphim and the Virtues to hold council with the Lord. Another First Woman will need to be created." He winced. "And someone will need to tell Adam."
That was the worst part. To tell someone that their partner had run off with someone else. Sera was sure her son…Adam, she mentally corrected, would be devastated no doubt. Gabriel, God bless his soul, was Adam's friend. But Sera was his mot-his caretaker.
It was clear who needed to do it.
"Let us gather together and meet within the Primum Mobile. We'll discuss our next step there." Sera said. Nodding his head, Gabriel flew away, leaving Sera alone. Flapping her wings, she flew high above the gardens as the pale moon hung full in the sky.
When Adam learned the news, he would need someone to hold as he cried. And Sera would be that…caretaker, and make sure he had a shoulder to cry on. But to wake him up in the middle of the night only to deliver such news would be cruel.
Sera would wait till the sun rose.
AN: Another chapter over and done! :D. Hope you liked it! I hope you liked Roo's yandereness in this chapter, along with the introduction of magic! I based it off a mixture of Kabbalic stuff (Letters having power), Islamic, and general Middle Eastern and regular magical lore. Like words having power (and said words were Sumerian btw), The Spoken Word and Written Word which are both descriptions of the Bible (and how in Islamic/Middle Eastern Talisman, they generally have the Written Word/Scripture written on them), and other such stuff like Speaking the Truth (Preaching) being like how Adam/Roo speaks the True Word (Truth) in this part (Even if Roo's is corrupted). More detail will be gone into later, but I really hope you enjoyed it.
And I hope you enjoy Sera's part too. The Loving Mother, er, Caretaker, thinking Adam's the good boy while Lilith is the trouble maker :D
Sera: "I don't need to worry about Adam. Surely, he won't get into any trouble."
Adam: 'Rizzes up the embodiment of Eve(l).'
And a few interesting Biblical/Generally recognized as biblical facts:
-Gabriel is God's Messenger, often delivering…well, God's messenger to humans, making them understandable to us fleshbags..
-Primum Mobile is the ninth ring of Heaven where God resides in Dante's Inferno.
-Just as there are Seven Deadly Sins, there are Seven Heavenly Virtues: Charity, Chastity, Diligence, Humility, Patience, Temperance, and Kindness. Asherah is the Virtue of Kindness in this fic.
Anyway, hope you enjoy! Until next time! And as always, you can read a chapter ahead on my p-a-t-r-e-o-n (Halo3vsloz)!
