Finale
Twenty one year-old Hiro made a stop at the church. A few people wearing black could be seen. He got off his motorbike. Taking a deep breath, he went inside.
Hiro came up to the coffin located at the front of the altar. He was holding a bouquet of white roses. He looked as if he did not want to be present.
"Oh, hey!" a voice called.
Hiro turned to his side to see 18-year-old Samantha. He flashed a smile.
"So kind of you to come," Samantha pushed her hair to the back of her ear.
"Well… she told me to," Hiro said, scratching the back of his neck, "Sorry for your loss."
"He's just my uncle, but he was part of my childhood," the young woman muttered.
Hiro nodded to her. They stared at the coffin for a few minutes. Kate popped up. She beamed when she saw Hiro and charged in for a hug.
"H-Hey, it's a funeral," Hiro whispered to her.
"Oh…" Kate released her arms around Hiro. "Sorry. It has been… six months since I last saw you!"
Hiro chuckled nervously. "About that, your sister is not feeling well. She can't go out too much.."
"Oh yeah! When is she due?" Kates asked, all excited.
"In a week," he answered. "If you want, you can visit the cafe to see her. She's always there."
"Good idea! I'll go there in a bit," Kate said.
She left after leaving a white rose on the coffin. Hiro turned to Samantha who flashed a smile at him. He sat with her and they exchange some updates about each other's life. After saving Alicia from the kidnapping, Alicia requested Hiro to reach out to Samantha. It turned out she is an orphan and her uncle was her only role model. Hiro invited her to lunch at the cafe that day. She was delighted to be able to see Alicia.
Aunt Cass finished another order of espresso and rushed to serve the rest of her customers. She took a breath and smiled. Baymax was behind the counter. Hiro appointed him there in order to make sure of no trouble.
"Need some help, Aunt Cass?" Alicia called from the back door.
"Alicia, honey, you should not be down here!" Cass exclaimed, a bit panicky.
"Relax, I'm okay. Baymax is around, right?" Alicia smiled, placing a hand on her womb..
Baymax turned to her and blinked. Aunt Cass shook her head at the young lady. Alicia made her way to one of the customers' tables. They greeted her welcomely and asked her how she was doing.
Ever since the death sentence of the man that kidnapped them a few years back, the rumors and news about Alicia being the serial killer died down. Alicia got out of the hospital and was put to physical rehab to reawaken her senses and nervous system. She did not want to do it the 'Baymax' way.
After a year of rehab, Hiro properly proposed to her and they officially got married. Alicia moved in with Hiro and Aunt Cass. They turned the Hamada brothers' room into their own family room with Jake.
The cafe door rang. Hiro came in with Samantha. Alicia smiled at her husband. He walked over to her and kissed her forehead.
"You really can't sit still, huh?" he chuckled.
Nodding, the wife replied, "You know me."
She turned to Samantha who nervously approached her. She smiled.
"It has been awhile, Samantha," Alicia greeted her.
"Hi, you look very healthy even though you're close,"Samantha remarked.
"Yeah, well… Hiro here made sure Baymax takes care of me 24/7. Sometimes he even skips his night patrol for my sake," Alicia rolled her eyes at her husband.
Hiro gave out a nervous chuckle. Alicia invited Samantha to sit down with her. They started their own conversation, ignoring Hiro. The man made himself useful around the cafe. He served a few customers and then went to his wife with two cups of coffee.
"On the house," he winked at Alicia and Samantha.
"Gee thanks. Now I'm wondering if I can get a muffin with this," Samantha chirped.
Alicia giggled. She nodded to her husband. He went ahead to order for the young lady.
"He's so obedient," Samantha remarked.
Chuckling, Alicia replied, "Well… he tends to do whatever I asked after that incident."
"Oh.. Umm, how are you holding up?" Samantha asked.
"I'm doing good," Alicia replied, smiling, "This little girl will be due soon."
"Oh, it's a girl?" Kate chimed in out of nowhere.
"Hey Kate!" Alicia greeted her sister. "We told the family, remember?"
"Oh yeah… I forgot. I was busy with my semester review," Kate pointed out.
Hiro came back with a plate of mini doughnuts and one muffin for Samantha. He turned to look at Kate.
"So how was it?" he asked Kate.
"It was a jiff~" she chirped.
Hiro chuckled. Samantha munched on her muffin and listened to their conversation. Kate was telling them what she made for her semester review. Hiro gave his opinion about it. He offered to help her with her next assignment.
Jake made an appearance, coming down the stairs. He ran up to his family.
"Auntie Kate!" the five-year-old called happily.
"Hey, Jakey~! Whoa you're all grown up!" Kate exclaimed.
"I'm fiveeee now!" Jake said, holding his right hand up to show his five fingers.
Kate cooed. Alicia and Hiro gave her the permission to take Jake out that day. After entertaining the guests, Alicia was a bit exhausted. She announced that she would be taking a rest. Hiro accompanied her upstairs.
"That was really kind of you to bring Samantha here," Alicia remarked as she laid down.
"Well, she seems to be caught up in the past. I thought you could make her move on," Hiro explained.
Alicia heaved a sigh. "She turns out to be a good friend."
Hiro sat on the side of the bed, gazing at his wife's face. She flashed a small smile. Her hands were on her baby bump.
"Have you… thought of a name?" he asked.
"I named Jake. You should name this one," Alicia replied.
"That's a good exchange," he chuckled. "I will think about it."
Kate took Jake to the park. She texted Asch to come join them.
"Auntie Kate, can Jake have ice-cream?" he asked.
"Sure! Let's go buy some!" Kate chirped.
After getting their ice-cream cone, they sat on a bench and waited for Asch. Asch arrived with Mrs Koizumi. Jake was delighted to see his Grandma and Uncle. The woman laid a picnic mat and served some snacks for them all. Jake spent the whole evening with them.
"How is Alicia?" Mrs Koizumi asked Kate.
"She's alive and kicking! She even helped around the cafe even with the baby coming around the corner," Kate said.
"That's Alicia alright," Asch remarked.
Mrs Koizumi nodded in agreement. "I can't wait for them to have their daughter…"
"Jake gonna be a big bro!" Jake chirped and cheered.
"Jake is sure excited about it," Asch chuckled at the sight.
Mrs Koizumi invited Jake to stay with them that day. Alicia was reading a book in bed. Hiro was clearing the dishes with Aunt Cass. They discussed the future once his daughter is borned. They needed more space.
"Sure, I don't see anything wrong with moving out and finding your own place, as long as you come and visit," Aunt Cass said.
"We'll make it our weekly routine. Maybe this weekend at yours and then the next, at the Koizumis," Hiro suggested. "Alicia will keep working with you after all and our meeting will still be held here."
Aunt Cass nodded in agreement. Bayma came downstairs.
"Hiro, it is time…" he said.
"What?!" Hiro was surprised.
He ran upstairs to check on his wife. She was holding in her pain to not worry her husband and Aunt Cass. Hiro picked her up and rushed to the car. Aunt Cass joined them. She made the call to her family to meet up at the hospital.
"She wants to come out so badly…" Alicia joked as she controlled her breathing.
"It would seem so," Aunt Cass entertained her.
They arrived at the hospital. Alicia was in labour after 30 minutes in her ward. Hiro stayed with her. Aunt Cass greeted her family at the waiting area. They soon heard a baby crying.
"She's healthy!" the doctor announced. He handed the baby over to Alicia.
"She has your hair…" Hiro remarked.
"Hey there, little one… You're so excited to come out huh?" Alicia breathed.
"Have we decided on a name?" a nurse asked.
Alicia glanced up at her husband. Hiro nodded. "Ashley…that's her name. She will grow up to be strong willed and brave like her aunt."
The family was allowed inside. They surrounded the couple.
"Is that…?" Jake asked.
"Yes, Jake, this is your sister," Alicia smiled.
"She got your hair and face," Asch said, poking the baby's cheek.
"May I?" Mrs Koizumi asked.
"Sure," Alicia handed the baby over to her.
"Hello there…" Mrs Koizumi cooed, turning to look at Hiro.
As if understanding what she was asking, Hiro answered, "Ashley."
"Ash…ley?" Mr Koizumi was taken aback.
"Are you sure?" Asch asked.
The couple nodded. "Yes, her name is Ashley," Alicia replied.
"Well, she's going to be wonderful," Mr Koizumi remarked.
They smiled at the couple. Alicia took a nap while Hiro settled all the paperworks. She was allowed to discharge after 3 days because the doctor requested to monitor the baby and Alicia's condition.
"Yo," Asch greeted Hiro at the reception counter.
"Hey," Hiro replied.
"Can we talk?" Asch asked.
Hiro nodded. They took a walk around the hospital. Hiro wondered what he wanted to talk about.
"I want to thank you for taking care of my sister," Asch started. "She looks so at peace with you. I regret nothing, letting you get to know her and marrying her. Thanks, Hiro."
"I'm glad I got to know her. I never thought I could move on from Tadashi but now I have my own family," Hiro heaved a sigh.
"Tadashi would be so proud of you, I can tell." Asch said.
Hiro nodded to him. They shook hands. Asch pulled him into a hug and whispered, "Take care of her."
"I will, I promise," Hiro replied.
"Sweetpea, are you ready?" twenty-three year-old Hiro called.
"Almost, dear. I'm styling her hair," Alicia replied.
Hiro popped his head by the bedroom door. Alicia was combing Ashley's hari. The toddler was occupied with a hairbrush and humming a song.
"Wow! Look at Daddy's princess!" Hiro exclaimed, squating close to her.
"Daddy!" she cooed.
Ashley's hair was styled into two pigtails. Hiro picked her up. Alicia made her way to Hiro's room. The boy was all ready, in his shirt and black tie.
"Look at my little gentleman," she cooed.
"Dad helped me out! Do I look like him?" he asked.
Alicia nodded.
"Let's go. We're going to be late to the wedding," Hiro said.
They got into the car and drove to the church.
"I can't believe Asch is getting married to Lea, the babysitter," Hiro remarked.
"Well, we don't know God's work," Alicia replied.
Hiro agreed. They soon arrived. Hiro got ready at his place as Asch's best man. Alicia and her children took their seat beside her parents. Ashley was on her Grandpa's lap.
The wedding ceremony went well. They took a family photo after that. Hiro, Alicia and their children also took their small family photo as well.
"How about the photo of just Mom and Dad?" the photographer suggested.
Jake picked his sister up and walked to their grandparents. Hiro wrapped his right hand on his wife's waist. Alicia rested her hand on his chest.
"Hiro, thanks for loving despite my past," she whispered to him.
"Thanks for choosing me," Hiro replied.
They hugged each other.

Any who, things have changed and I am older now so my style may be different. Thank you again and have a good day ahead everyone!
