I Prefer Navi
"But why?!" Tinker Bell whined. "I'm an iconic weapon!"
"Yeah, iconic for all the wrong reasons!" Motoko yelled back.
"But I could be useful!" Tinker Bell pleaded back.
"You are literally designed only to knock people out easier with little lasting damage, something I can do just fine on my own while not lugging around a modded up cattle prod." Motoko explained.
"That's still useful! I'm still worth picking up rather than letting rot in an evidence locker!"
"Exactly, you're evidence! I might not agree with the NCPD on much of anything, but I rather not piss them off taking evidence from a serial killer's house, of which you totally are."
"But... but-" Tinker Bell tried to defend its worth.
"You are also just plain nasty," Motoko deadpanned, causing Tinker Bell to stop speaking in shock. "I mean, before your last master picked you up I bet you were just a regular cattle prod used on poor cows who were pumped full of food and chemicals to meet the crazy demands of the corpos. Then you were modded and likely used on poor kidnapping victims to 'keep them in line' while not killing them so he could hook them up into his nightmare machine. I don't want to know how many ghosts are clinging to you that I would be lugging around. Pretty sure a mystic I know could feel your bad juju a mile awhile."
Tinker Bell just remained silent as the truth was blunted pointed out to it.
"Besides, I got a melee weapon whom I would never cheat on," Motoko said as she brought out her katana. "So have fun being in evidence storage for years on end before finally auctioned off to a weirdo collector or recycled."
And with that, Motoko walked away, leaving the instrument of torture and nightmares to its fate as a NCPD lab tech collected it.
"Hmmm, now that I'm thinking about it maybe I could have broken it down for parts or something... naw, don't want anything I make inheriting that negative karma. I need to keep in mind other iconic weapons I might not want for one reason or another, like Finger's cane or Stout's... 'special tool'.
Motoko shuddered at the thought.
"Night City has enough nightmares without me needing to add any more to them."
