As the Going Merry made its way to Alabasta, Vivi was explaining the structure of Baroque Works.

"Crocodile acts as Mr. 0, the president in charge. His partner is known as Miss All-Sunday. Igaram and I managed to follow her to discover that Crocodile was behind everything. Under him are thirteen agents labeled 1 through 13, with all but Mr. 2 having a female partner named after a day of the week or holiday. Mr. 1 through Mr. 5 are the officer agents that Crocodile sends on missions, the others are the Frontier Agents that bring in funding by capturing bounties. With the exception of Miss Goldenweek, all of the officer agents have Devil Fruits."

"Considering you were Miss Wednesday and Igaram was Mr. 8, what happened to numbers 6 through 7, as well as 10 and 11?" Zoro asked.

"Apparently they and their partners were all captured by the Marines," Vivi explained. "Mr. 13 and Miss Friday normally act as the punishment squad, dealing with those who fail. That's...no longer an issue."

"They were sure tasty," Katsu said. "You are an excellent cook, Sanji."

Sanji puffed his chest proudly. "Indeed! I'm not the best chef in the East Blue for nothing!"

"We've also pretty much compromised Mr. 5, Miss Valentine, and Miss Goldenweek. Though Mr. 3 did escape." Vivi continued/

"Most likely Mr. 0 had him head back to Alabasta, which can only mean he's ready for his endgame." Gem suggested.

"Well that's concerning..." Double-D muttered.

"As for the others, there's Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas, and Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger," Vivi said.

"Well, whatever we do, we'll have to plan it for when we reach Alabasta," Nami said.

"I, for one, will be glad to unload our freeloaders. I'm getting tired of worrying about our food supply." Sanji said.

"Hey! Just because I can weigh a thousand kilos doesn't mean I eat enough to do so!" Mikita snapped.

Marianne was just sitting quietly eating rice crackers with Ed and Hunter.

"Captain! We have some sort of phenomenon off the fore!" Usopp suddenly called out.

Luffy took a look where Usopp was pointing, as some sort of mist was rising from the water.

"It's just steam rising. There must be a hot spot nearby, like an underwater volcano." Nami assured them. "Unless it's active, we've got nothing to worry about."

"There are volcanoes underwater?" Chopper asked.

"That's how a lot of islands get formed. The magma hits the cold water and solidifies into stone." Lithos said.

"Actually, there are more volcanoes underwater than above it. If there's a dormant volcano nearby, it will likely form a new island over the course of a few thousand years." Nami noted.

"Wow, you explained that in a way that made sense..." Kuishi muttered.

"Isn't science and geology so fascinating!" Double-D beamed.

"We're about to hit the steam cloud," Usopp noted.

"Grahambel, clear it out for us." Haruo said.

"You got it! ECHO WAVE!"

Grahambel created a sonic echo that acted like a gentle wind, blowing the steam away from the ship.

"Ship ahoy! Coming up on the fore on the other side of the steam!" Usopp called out.

The ship happened to be a vessel with a swan figurehead.

"Hang on, that's Mr. 2 Bon Clay's ship, the Swanda Express." Mikita realized.

Luffy noted that the sail happened to have "Okama Way" written on it.

"Why does that sound familiar?"

"Ahoy there!" Called a rather flamboyant man dressed like a ballerina with a swan motif.

"And there's Mr. 2 himself," Gem noted.

"He looks...fruity," Eddy said.

"That's an understatement." Marianne dryly said.

Mr. 2 gave a dramatic, dancing leap over to the Merry...and promptly wound up short and fell into the sea. The crew looked on and realized he was not coming up.

Romaz sighed. "I'll get him."

He dove into the water and managed to drag Mr. 2 out of the water as his ship wound up leaving him behind.

"T-Thank you...I can't really swim so... I guess I misjudged the distance between our ships..." Mr. 2 said as he sat up. "So sorry for the scare. To think there are pirates willing to help total strangers."

"Strange is the right word," Zoro noted.

"Why are you dressed like that, anyway?" Eddy asked.

"Why I'm an Okama, a human who does not let things like gender norms dictate how they live their lives." Mr. 2 explained. "I follow the example of the great Queen of the Okama, Emporio Ivankov!"

"Ah, now I remember! One of Dad's friends is named Ivankov!" Luffy said.

Mr. 2 gasped and grabbed Luffy. "Do you know where he is!? I've been wishing to meet the great Queen himself for so long!"

"Last time Dad visited he mentioned Ivankov was undercover in Impel Down... Wherever that is."

"That's the great prison of the World Government. All I'd have to do is get myself sent there and I know Ivankov would find me." Mr. 2 realized.

"You were drowning pretty heavily there," Kuishi noted.

"While my Fishman strength helped me pull you up, it felt like trying to carry a hammer." Romaz added.

"Ah, you see that's because I've eaten a Devil Fruit," Mr. 2 explained. "Allow me to demonstrate. I already touched the young man there with my right hand so we can skip that part. Behold!"

He slapped his right hand to his cheek, and to the group's shock, it turned into an exact duplicate of Luffy. Right down to copying his voice.

"Amazing, isn't it? And to change back..."

He touched his face with his left hand and returned to normal.

"This is the power of my Clone-Clone Fruit. Anyone I touch with my right hand, I can copy their physical appearance. Which includes their voice, but not any special abilities they might have." He pointed to Zoro. "For example; while I could copy your looks, I wouldn't be able to copy your skills with a sword."

He started trying to touch the others, but Merone quickly coated them in water to prevent direct contact.

"We get the point. If you go copying the women on our crew and then flashing for further demonstration, I'm sure our cook would throw you back overboard."

"And I wouldn't be gentle, either!" Sanji snapped, patting a frying pan in his hand threateningly.

"And another thing! Nothing against your manner of dress, but..." Ferros pointed at Mr. 2's hairy legs. "Invest in some damn razors, man!"

"Hm, fair enough, fair enough. That's usually the part almost everyone is grossed out by, even those accepting of Okama." Mr. 2 agreed. "Anway, as it happens I can still show off plenty of my power's capabilities. You see, I only lose a disguise when I forget it, but luckily I have quite a long memory. Behold!"

He started going through a number of faces he'd copied. The Children of Whitebeard's eyes widened when Mr. 2 revealed that he had copied King Cobra's face. Oblivious, Mr. 2 finished his show.

"Spectacular, yes? I normally never show my power to others, since it's quite useful for espionage."

Luffy, Usopp, Ed, Eddy, Kuishi, Sonson, Choi, Hsiao, Hunter, and Chopper all cheered excitedly. Just then, the Swanda Express started sailing toward the Going Merry.

"Ah, there's my ship. Looks like it's time for us to part." Mr. 2 said, waiting until his ship was right next to the Merry before leaping onto it successfully. "I hope to see you again, new friends. May the winds of fortune reunite us before I take my decent into hell!"

"Well, he was a nice guy. If a little strange." Luffy said.

"You do realize he just sailed off with a perfect disguise for Luffy," Marianne pointed out. "Once we get to Alabasta he's likely to become an enemy."

"It's worse than that. The four of us recognized one of the faces he showed us; Nefertari Cobra, Vivi's father." Lithos said.

Merone nodded. "He looked the same as he did ten years ago, so I recognized him clearly."

"No way would I forget Uncle Cobra's face!" Ariala said.

That left Vivi shocked beyond words as Carue rubbed his chin.

"I think we can safely assume how Crocodile managed to start turning the country toward civil war, fellas. All he'd have to do is get Mr. 2 to touch His Highness' face, then dress up like him during a time when he knew the king would be away, and act completely contrarian to how King Cobra really is."

"He mentioned how his powers were perfect for espionage. With the right acting skills, you could mimic a king and bring down an entire country." Zoro noted.

N'Doul nodded. "Mr. 2 may not have the most offensive power, but it's definitely one of the most useful and dangerous so far."

"And we just let him slip away..." Johnny realized nervously.

"Luckily with only Luffy-Aniki's face. It seems Mr. 2 can't copy anyone he doesn't touch directly." Yosaku pointed out.

"Fortunately he hasn't realized we're enemies of Baroque Works. But the second he does, he could easily try to trip us up by pretending to be Luffy." Choi said.

"Well, that's an easy fix. If I get separated from you guys for any reason and show up again later, just punch me. If my head goes flying, then it's me. If not, then we can capture Mr. 2." Luffy said simply.

"That would be an easy fix," Bella admitted. "But we'd have to make sure he doesn't touch us at the same time."

"Maybe, but we have an advantage over him. He foolishly let us know what his power is, and Grahambel was broadcasting the entire time. So now the whole world is aware of the Clone-Clone Fruit, which might be the opening we need to clear King Cobra's name of whatever crimes the people think he might have committed." Zoro said. "Plus, we can be on guard and start to consider counter-measures."

Nami checked the weather for a moment.

"Looks like things are stabilizing. We've almost reached Alabasta."

The crew spotted a large creature that looked like a cross between a cat and a fish.

"Ah, a Sea Cat! They're sacred creatures in Alabasta. We must be getting close." Vivi said.

"Ships abound, Captain!" Usopp called out. "The flags all bear the Baroque Works logo."

The crew looked out and saw the Jolly Roger with the crossbones replaced by wings and rapiers.

"They're not even being subtle anymore. Crocodile really is ready to start his endgame." Ariala noted.

"Which means we don't have a lot of time..." Delphia worriedly said.

"Those ships belong to the Billions, Baroque Works' footsoldiers," Vivi noted. "Despite the name they only number 200. But they're far stronger than the Millions from Whiskey Peak."

"Should we prep the cannons and blast those suckers?" Eddy asked.

"Let's not reveal ourselves before we have to. Our goal is to help Vivi free her home." Ferros said.

Luffy nodded. "As much as I'd love to beat the crap out of every single one of them, maybe we can give them a taste of their own medicine."

The group each tied special bandages around their arms in case they ran into Mr. 2 again, even Gem, Mikita, and Marianne.

"Alabasta dead ahead," Usopp reported. "Are we certain of the plan, Zoro?"

"Not really. No plan survives first contact with the enemy." Zoro admitted. "But it does give us the best chance."

Luffy nodded. "Vivi, where should we dock?"

"In Nanohana. It will help us hide the ship."

The Straw Hats all threw their hands in.

"This is going to be our most dangerous adventure yet, so we have to trust in each other, and our friendship. For our dreams!" Luffy declared.

"FOR OUR DREAMS!"

Once the Merry docked near Nanohana, Carue slipped into the town and picked up a few extra local garbs so the crew could disguise themselves while moving through the kingdom.

"These disguises are going to be the most important. Since Luffy, Lithos, Merone, Ferros, and Ariala all have bounties on their heads. Not to mention this way Vivi and Carue can travel more inconspicuously."

"Hey, guys, look! There's Mr. 3's ship." Usopp said.

Sure enough, the Chiryaku Ten'nen Maru, Mr. 3's personal vessel, was docked nearby.

"This makes things a little harder...Mr. 3's seen all our faces." N'Doul noted. "We'll need to make sure to keep our faces covered while in towns and cities."

"Don't worry, I can disguise myself as any creature!" Sonson beamed. "72 EARTHLY TRANSFORMATIONS!"

In a puff of smoke, Sonson turned into a dog, happily barking and wagging her tail as Bella giggled.

As the group moved through Nanohana, Vivi couldn't help but feel relieved that things seemed to be alright.

"So where exactly are we going?" Mikita asked.

"To the northwest towards the oasis of Yuba, where the rebel army is based." Vivi explained.

"Just to warn you, Mr. 0 has a lot of plants in the rebels." Marianne spoke up.

"Yes, but there's also someone there I'm close to. However, we first have to cross the Sandora Desert." Vivi said.

"Not a problem for us," Ariala noted. "I've got cool winds, Lithos has got some comfy rocks, and Merone can provide plenty of water!"

"There's still food we need to be worried about." Delphia pointed out, Double-D and Choi nodding in agreement.

Meanwhile, a group was delivering a cart shipment to a small camp, which was being headed by a blond-haired young man.

"Kohza, we brought the weapons. The dealer charged more than usual this time."

"Well, he has a lot to lose if he's caught, just like us," Kohza admitted.

"So, are we moving forward with the attack?"

"Not just yet. First I want to double-check that all our men aren't comprised." Kohza said. "That recent broadcast from Grahambel's broadcast gave some disturbing implications. Additionally, we now have to re-evaluate what we thought we knew regarding the current state of the kingdom. Are we really working to change this country? Or are we just being used? We need to determine that before we make any further moves. At this point, I can't even trust the soldiers that seemingly switched sides to join us."

He got out a small locket, depicting a picture of Vivi inside.

"She may be the only one I can trust anymore..."

"Make sure the barrels are reusable. That way I should be able to refill them once they run out." Choi said as everyone loaded up.

"Good thinking, the kingdom has been undergoing a drought for three years now. Even the oases have started drying up." Vivi said.

"I get that deserts tend to have little to no water, but how the heck does an oasis just dry up?" Eddy asked.

"It seems highly implausible," Katsu added. "However, I believe I'm starting to get how Crocodile could have laid the groundwork for a rebellion."

They loaded up a camel with their supplies, Chopper and Grahambel giving the camel instructions.

"You sure we couldn't have gotten some perfume?" Nami asked.

"Not with Chopper's sensitive nose. We need to be at our peak if we're going to make it through this." Ariala pointed out.

"Sorry, Nami, but we have to sacrifice pleasure for practicality here." Luffy said.

Nami sighed, but knew Luffy had a point...and she could not for the life of her believe he did.

Meanwhile, a certain man wearing a bucket hat with no shirt was waiting at the nearby docks just outside of Nanohana. He smiled as a small longboat pulled up, carrying a blond-haired man wearing a suit and top hat and carrying a pipe. He smiled when he saw the shirtless man, noting the Jolly Roger of a skull with white mustache and vertical crossbones on his back.

"Good to see you again, Ace."

"I had a feeling I'd be meeting you out here, Sabo. Hopefully, Luffy, Lithos, Merone, Ferros, and Ariala got my message from Drum Island."

The two started walking through the town as they came by a merchant.

"Over 'ere, strangers." He said in a pseudo-Australian accent. "Got a collection of good things on sale."

"Sorry, sir, not today." Sabo smiled. "Maybe next time."

The Merchant nodded. "Tell Dragon my warmest regards. See you in the other bloke's story."

Ace and Sabo nodded as they walked away.

"So, did you see the latest wanted posters?" Sabo asked.

"How could I miss it? Those guys are really moving up in the world." Ace replied. "The old man was singing their praises at the sight of their first bounties."

"Dragon was the same when he heard what Luffy earned for his first bounty, even traveled to Loguetown to check in on him." Sabo noted. "So where do you think they are?"

Ace chuckled. "Knowing Luffy's appetite, we should start with the local restaurant."

Smoker and Tashigi had also arrived in Nanohana, where Tashigi was berating a local vendor for overcharging on swords. Meanwhile, Smoker had dealt with a few remaining small-time pirates.

"It was surprisingly easy to get clearance for the Alabasta Eternal Pose," Tashigi noted.

"The last few broadcasts have gotten Fleet Admiral Sengoku concerned that Crocodile might be doing dirty business behind the World Government's back. That got the clearance request pushed forward very quickly." Smoker said. "So far there's no indication that the Straw Hats have arrived. They may be going incognito just in case Baroque Works has their faces."

They entered the local restaurant Spice Bean and were met with a crazy sight. Ace and Sabo were inside, chowing down on so many plates of food they were making towers with them.

"Well now isn't this bold. Two notorious men eating out in public with no sense of discretion. Whitebeard Pirate Fleet Second Division Commander Portgas D Ace, and Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army Sabo."

That got everyone else in the restaurant freaking out as they now fully realized who was dining with them.

"So what are a couple of big-shots like you doing in this country?" Smoker asked.

"Just waiting for our brothers and sisters," Ace said.

"I was unaware you were related," Smoker said.

"Not by blood, but we are family nonetheless." Sabo clarified. "So what about you? Here to try and arrest us?"

"I have bigger fish to fry at the moment, like trying to keep a country from completely destabilizing."

"Imagine that. I was sent here for that same purpose." Sabo said. "The man in charge has his suspicions of what's going on with Alabasta's civil war, so he sent me to check things out."

Suddenly, they heard the familiar sound of running and a very familiar exuberant voice.

"FOOD!"

Luffy suddenly came barreling into the restaurant, wearing desert garb, knocking into Smoker and sending him flying right into Ace. Lithos, Merone, Ferros, and Ariala came running up behind Luffy, all of them looking a little haggard.

"five more for their table..." Ariala muttered to the owner, pointing to Sabo's table.

Sabo just laughed and nodded to the owner to bring some more food. Ace got up looking pretty mad, but his face softened when he saw Luffy and the Children of Whitebeard.

"Hey there! I've been looking for you guys!"

"Good to see you again, Ace!" Luffy said, already stuffing his mouth.

"How's Papa been doing?" Ferros asked.

"Hale and hearty as ever... Unless you count all the liquor he drinks." Ace chuckled.

"Father has a clockwork liver. The only way he'd die is on his feet in the midst of battle. With his only injuries being on his front side." Lithos said dismissively.

"Uh...Why do I feel a dark sense of foreshadowing?" Merone wondered.

The siblings headed back the Merry with the other Straw Hats, who stood there watching as Luffy and Ace had an arm-wrestling match, with it being pretty even all things considered. It ended with a draw, Lithos having to stop them before they broke a precious water barrel.

"So what are you doing here in Alabasta?" Luffy asked.

"Well, I don't know about Ace, but the Revolutionary Army has sensed something sinister behind the scenes with the recent civil war going on here. So as the second-in-command, I was tasked with checking things out." Sabo explained.

"Looks like we're all on our own path. Though the five of us are still working together." Ferros said.

Meanwhile, Bella was staring at Ace's shirtless form with a bright red blush on her face.

"So THAT'S Fire Fist Ace..."

"Take it easy, Bella, you're drooling," Delphia said.

Kuishi smirked. "Not that I can blame her. Those abs put MINE to shame!"

"Come out, Fire Fist Ace! We know you're on board!"

Hearing the loud voice, the Children of Whitebeard, Luffy, Ace, and Sabo looked over to see the Billions had gathered...all 200 of them.

"Holy crap, it's the Children of Whitebeard! All together!"

"Not only that, they have Straw Hat Luffy!"

"And Sabo of the Revolutionary Army! If we can defeat them, we might get a promotion!"

Ferros was just finishing counting the group and grinned.

"200? Hardly seems fair."

Ace chuckled. "It'll be nice to see how far we've all come. Plus I have a new trick to show off."

Several of the Billions fired off their rifles, but Luffy easily bounced the bullets back with his rubber body while Lithos and Ferros' stone and metal bodies halted them in their tracks. Meanwhile, the bullets harmlessly phased through Ariala, Merone, and also Ace, his body giving off flames.

"Ace, you ate a Devil Fruit?" Sabo asked. "Aww man, that means I'm the only one of us without superpowers!"

"Sorry about that, Sabo, but Marco gave me the Flame-Flame Fruit sometime before we all set out!"

"Hey, that was the fifth Devil Fruit from that island where we got ours!" Ariala realized. "Guess they figured you were the perfect user!"

"You got that right, Sis!" Ace laughed as he blocked a sword strike from the large man and started heating it up.

"Let's give these losers a whoopin'!" Ferros grinned viciously.

"TITANSTONE HAMMER!"

"BLAST KNUCKLE!"

"RIPTIDE!"

"TWISTER BOMBARDMENT!"

"FIRE FIST!"

"RYU NO IBUKI!"

The Straw Hats and guests all looked on in awe as the Billions were taken out in a flurry of stone, metal, water, wind, fire, and rubber limbs. By the time the seven were done, they saw Sabo already sitting on a pile of knocked-out goons polishing his lead pipe.

"What took you guys so long?"

"Show-Off..." Ariala snipped.

With all that done, the siblings returned to the ship.

"So, Sabo, you have any luck with that girl Koala?" Ace asked.

"You know Koala?" Romaz asked, his eyes widening slightly.

"Nah, I haven't gotten her to do more than bash me when she gets annoyed," Sabo admitted.

"Shishishishi! That means I win." Luffy grinned. "First one of us to get a girlfriend."

Nami smiled and waved to Ace and Sabo, who stared at her in amazement.

"Wow, Luffy lucked out."

"What about you guys?" Sabo asked the Children of Whitebeard.

"We're still searching." Ferros shrugged.

Ariala giggled. "Honestly, I was thinking you'd be the first of us to hook up with someone, Ace. You certainly give plenty of women a good show."

The seven of them laughed as Chopper looked at them.

"Brothers are amazing."

"Wish I had a brother like them..." Eddy muttered somberly as Ed and Double-D consoled him.

As the Going Merry sailed off, the Marines working under Smoker rounded up all the defeated Billions.

"Make sure their ships are scuttled. We don't want Baroque Works to regain any resources." Smoker ordered as he took a deep puff of his cigars. "I've always hated the Warlord system. Working with pirates should only be done when absolutely necessary, otherwise, what's the point of Marines? But Crocodile is someone I especially detest. He's far too clever, and he's never been the type to just quietly obey the World Government."

"So we're heading for Alubarna then?" Tashigi asked.

"We are. That thing I said earlier about only working with when necessary? Wel,l this is one such time." Smoker said. "The Straw Hats for whatever reason are helping Vivi with whatever is causing problems in this country. We've been sent to do that very same thing. And with Crocodile being such a dangerous man, it wouldn't be wrong to seek help wherever we can find it."

As the crew sailed off, Ace turned to the Children of Whitebeard.

"By the way, did you guys happen to run into Blackbeard on the way?"

"Only time we heard about him is when he attacked the Drum Kingdom for whatever reason. No way Father authorized that." Merone said.

"No, Teach has very clearly set off on his own," Ace agreed. "He used to be part of the Second Division of the Whitebeard Pirates, working under me. But then he committed the worst possible sin on a pirate ship. He killed a crew member and fled."

"W-Why would he do that?! Teach was one of the more sociable members of the fleet!" Ariala cried in disbelief.

"Who did he even kill?" Lithos wearily asked.

"The Fourth Division Commander Thatch," Ace explained.

"Uncle Thatch..." Ferros whispered.

Ace nodded solemnly. "Anyway, as commander of the same unit Blackbeard was on, it's my responsibility to find him and eliminate him. I came out here because I caught word that Blackbeard was seen in Yuba."

"Well that's convenient. We're heading for Yuba as well." Vivi said.

"Guess we'll all be traveling buddies for a while, then," Sabo noted. "But seriously, Ace, make sure you get some backup before trying to target Blackbeard."

"From what we've heard, he has some powerful allies with him," Haruo said. "Together, they were able to destroy the entire Drum Kingdom."

Ace sighed in annoyance. "Well, this just got more complicated. But if it turns out Blackbeard isn't here, I'll just return to the fleet and get some help from the crew. And hey, while I'm here I might as well help you stop a civil war."

Meanwhile, at the palace, Cobra stopped the guards from antagonizing the civilians looking for help with the current crisis.

"Forgive me, my people. My lack of strength has put you through such unbearable suffering. Those who wish to speak are welcome to enter and explain your problems, and I will do my best to alleviate them. For now, all I can do is share your suffering as if it were my own, but this I can assure you. Help is coming. If you will endure for just a little longer, I promise you our country will see peace once more. Even if it costs my life!"

He showed the people a large bandage around his arm, and many saw something underneath it, almost like a scar. With that settled, Cobra walked off with Pell.

"Father!"

A young boy with spiky black hair and blue eyes that glowed a bright magenta. He wore an unzipped black jacket with skull-motif buttons, a zipper tag, and sequin details on the pockets. The jacket had leopard print on the inside and underneath, he wore a steel gray shirt with skull prints. He also wore black cropped trousers and black buckled boots with red soles along with a black motorcycle glovelet on his left hand.

"Noctis, do not worry yourself about my health," Cobra said gently to his son and Vivi's younger brother, Nefertari Noctis. "I'm sure that help will be on the way soon."

"I just hope Vivi is safe...even with what I've heard from the Straw Hats' broadcast," Noctis said.

While Vivi had gone undercover, Noctis had opted to stay in the kingdom to look after their father and keep his ear to the ground for any dissenters or possible moles. He had been listening in to Grahambel's broadcast diligently, praying that his older sister would be alright and hopefully succeed in her mission.

The Alabasta Arc is long as FUCK so, like mtnetsurfer, I'm cutting stuff out and separating things into chapters.

And yes, Nefertari Noctis is basically Noctis Lucis Caelum from Final Fantasy XV implanted in the One Piece universe. I'm predictable like that. We'll see more of him going forward.
