"watch your tongue Aussie" Bobby growled
"Aha bring it on Yank!" Zack smirked
"What's going on?" Nikki asked
"They're arguing" their girlfriends said
"About what?" Wyatt asked
"There is no way in the world Cricket is superior to Baseball" Bobby snapped
"Oh yeah it is!" Zack said
"You're shitting us" the two classes groaned
"okay I'll admit AFL seems more exciting then Gridiron, But Baseball is a quicker, faster game then cricket" Bobby declared.
"Yeah too quick, and all you do is run in a circle after getting a hit, heck you don't make it around with one hit and have to wait for someone else to hit it so you can move on!" Zack shot back
"And what running backwards and forwards is more fun!" Bobby said "You have to hit a series of sticks sticking up to get out if you're not caught
"At least we have two ways to get out, the only way you get out is being caught out" Zack said before a wall of earth rose up and pushed them apart
"Easy gents, easy why not settle this like gents" Mack said
"What do you think we should do?" Bobby asked
"Simple, Heads we play the Yanks in Cricket, Tails, they play us in Baseball" Bruce said
"Fine" the two guys said as Bruce flipped the coin, the three watching it hit the ground...standing on its side "Um" Bruce said
"So now what?" Bobby asked
"Ooh, ooh, ooh! I have an idea" Nikki said
"What?" they asked
"you'll see, just give me some time" Nikki rushed off.
"What?" they all asked as they walked out onto the sports field. Looking at what had been set up.
"I call it Cricketball!" Nikki cheered
"Oh sweetie" Brittany laughed
"Did you combine Cricket with Baseball?" Kat asked
"Yep" Nikki smiled
"Nice" Henry smiled
"I must say this is a unique fusion of Sports" Jenner said
"So you guys up for it?" Zack asked
"OH YEAH!" the guys shouted as the girls went to the benches
"We'll see you guys try it out before we join" Matilda sighed
"Good idea" Paul said as they all went in got into the uniforms they wore during the Tri Heroic Nations.
"AAAAANNNNND GOOD MORNING SPORTS FANS!" Archie shouted making everyone look at him shocked
"And welcome to the first ever Cricketball game. A game invented by our dear Nicole Cosgrove after an argument between our two schools" Lucy smiled
"We're Archie and Lucy your commentators for this game" Archie called
"And what an exciting one it will be" Lucy smiled
"And of course we have the two teams already out on the field, Today we have the Jackman heroic Foundation's Kangaroos, up against the Kirby High Eagles" Archie called out
"The Kangaroos and Eagles?" Zack asked
"I know right" Bobby groaned
"Okay lads, time to flip" Mr Franklin said as he walked out between them.
"Heads" Zack called as the coin was flipped, it landed with the heads up
"Okay we're batting first" Zack said
"Okay, KIRBY TAKE THE FIELD!" Mr Franklin said
"Jackman, we're batting so get in order" Zack said
"YOU GOT IT!" the others shouted
"This is going to be good" Bobby said as the American students grabbed a glove and was given a baseball painted red.
"A red ball?" Reggie asked
"Most cricket balls are red" Mr Franklin said
"Okay so who's up first?" Dennis asked
"I will" Bobby said as he grabbed the ball and headed to the mound, Zack was in that batter's box with a cricket helmet in, only the face guard was missing. He held his hand out as a cricket bat was selected, making it shot up into his hands. Zack swung it a few time, feeling it's movement. Nodding at his choice he got into the cricket batsman's stance.
"PLAY BALL!" Mr Franklin shouted
"And here is the maiden ball for the game" Lucy said
"And it appears Bobby is using a Curveball" Archie aid as Bobby did throw a curveball. Zacks watched where it went and stepped in, using it hitting it before he dropped the bat and ran to the first set of wickets where Jenner stood.
"PASS IT HERE!" Reggie grabbed the ball and threw it to Jenner, only for him to catch it when Zack passed him, Seeing this Jenner threw it to the second wicket keeper who was Henry. Zack skidded across the ground
"SAFE!" Mr Franklin shouted as Zack stood up brushing his clothes off.
"Nice" Bobby said as he caught the ball as the next batsman Bruce stepped up to the plate. He cracked his neck and held the bat in a baseball batter's pose smirking.
"Come on then" Bruce shouted as he tapped the bat against his boot and got ready, Bobby nodded as Terrance did some hand signals. A smirk showed up on Bobby's face as he threw a slider, making it fly through the air before Bruce stepped in and swung, the satisfying sound of ball cracking against bat as the ball flew, bouncing off the fence
"AND THAT IS A FOUR!" Archie shouted as Zack got back to the home back "AND THEY SCORED FIVE RUNS!" Archie said.
"Damn" Terrance growled
"It's okay we'll get the next one" Bobby said before seeing a smirking Ozzy in the batter's box "Out" he frowned as he threw a curve ball, Ozzy was still smiling as he held the bat in a single place,
"And Ozzy has chosen to bunt the ball" Lucy said as Oscar placed the bat on the ground and then ran around the bases
"Damn speedster" Dennis muttered
"Is he?" Jenner asked seeing Oscar doing the running man
"Cheeky bastard" Bobby laughed.
"That was a nice move" Riley said
"True, and thankfully he did only one lap" Angie said
"He's power does cause havoc" Odessa mused
"That is a way to see it" Brittany said "Plus he'll probably be keeper or something"
"Did you want to play?" Isabella asked Brittany
"No I'm good just watching" she smiled.
"Excuse me ladies, mind if I join you?" a voice said as a guy in red, white and blue suit walked up o them, The American tried to hold back their squeals
"You're, You're?" Riley said
"The American version of Wedgetail" Kat said
"Didn't think they would have one of those" Matilda said
"Indeed" Mel nodded
"Sorry Captain, they're Australian" Natalie said
"It's okay, I've met Wedgie a fair few ties" he said
"So you're Captain America, but which one are you?" Angie asked "Judging by the wingpack You're Sam Wilson; so what are you doing here?" Angie asked
"Oh, I'm here watching the game, since my nephew is the team captain
"Wait you're Bobby's Uncle?" Riley said
"I am miss" Falcon said "And I take it you're Riley Airheart" he said
"Yes sir" Riley nodded as he took a seat and watched the game
"So who's winning?" Falcon asked as he caught the ball and looked at the team, throwing it back
"Well it's 6-0 and the last of the innings" Nikki smiled
"THANKS UNCLE SAM" Bobby waved back before he threw a fastball at Paul, who missed it and heard the wickets get it
"It's now 1/0-0/0" Angie said
"So how do you change sides?" Falcon asked
"Oh after six outs are given" Kat said reading the rules
"So this is a fusion of Cricket and Baseball?" Falcon asked
"Yeah" the girls nodded.
"YOU'RE OUT!" Terrance shouted as Mack left the field "CHANGE ENDS!" he shouted as the Americans went to bat and the Australians went to field
"hey Wyatt" Zack smirked as he pass the ball to Wyatt first, a smirk on the sharpshooter's face.
"This is going to be good" Wyatt smirked as he threw it up and down, "So baseball pitches huh, what about bowling?"
"I don't see why not"
"Good work" Zack said "OSCAR! BATTER'S WICKIE!" he shouted
"OH, COME ON!" Oscar shouted
"You're too fast" Zack said
"Yet he still chose Wyatt as first pitcher" Jenner complained s he was first up at bat. Wyatt smiled as Jenner took a baseballer's batting stance before Wyatt used a cricket pitch. Jenner went wide eyed and swung.
"STRIKE!" Oscar shouted throwing the ball back to Wyatt who was smirking
"This is going to be difficult
"But I can see why he was chosen first, especially since he has a sniping quirk" Reggie said
"Come on then" Jenner taunted as Wyatt threw a fast ball which Oscar caught
"Strike TWO!" Oscar laughed.
"Damn" Jenner snarled as he got ready again this time hitting the ball, only to have Paul catch it
"OUT!" Oscar shouted
"Oh dang it!" Jenner walked back to the bench as Dennis moved up
"No sweat pal" Dennis said as he got ready.
"This is a most interesting game" Director Ayers said as he and Mr Jackman watched
"Yes, Miss Cosgrove thought of it after hearing an argument about it
"I hope it catches on" Director Ayers said
"So what about what happened at the congress?" Mr Jackman asked
"We're not sure. Half of them got away and the Disasters as well. There is some good news, there is less threats now, and what about the school, any hustles?" Director Ayers asked
"Negative, The Kirby students are enjoying themselves" Jackman said
"Yeah, too bad they have to head back soon since their school is fully repaired" Ayers sighed
"And the American Government sent their thanks to us; for helping them out so much during their reconstruction" Director Ayers said
"Then they are welcomed" Mr Jackman smiled as he watched the game, trying not to cheer as he saw Terrance get run out by Bruce.
"I see a great future for them" Director Ayers said
"Indeed, if they are some of the best then we have nothing to truly fear in the future of our world" Mr Jackman said.
"Okay Zack, Give me why your best shot" Bobby smirked
"You got it Bobby" Zack called out as he got ready to pitch a fastball at his friend.
"Too bad Izzy isn't here" Bobby said as he swung and missed the ball,
"I forgot the Japanese are baseball crazy" Zack said grabbing the ball and trying a curveball, this time Bobby asked able to hit it and ran to first base allowing Henry to run home
"Another run for the Americans" Archie said
"Indeed, that means the game is tied up" Lucy said
"Indeed, that means this last batter could" Archie called out
"Come on man what's next?" Zack asked Jenner went back up to bat. Zack smirked and did a cricket spinball, bouncing it off the ground
"Oh geez" Jenner said quickly blocking it making it a bunt
"GO! GO! GO!" the Americans were shouting.
"Throw to second! Throw to Second" Zack urged as Mack grabbed it and threw it toward the second base, which was caught by Waytt getting Bobby out before he threw to home, getting Terrance out
"Yeah cop that Yankie" Wyatt shouted
"Oh, just you wait Aussie' Terrance growled
"Oh you're going to regret that" Wyatt said as they traded places.
"This is the finally innings, if we get three more runs we win" Nikki cheered
"And if you can't?" Donna asked
"You guys win" Nikki smiled
"I must say this is an interesting game." Falcon said as he munched on some nuts.
"Indeed, I must say for something thought up on the fly it is quite good" Miss Crimson said having joined the game
"Though there is nothing like going down to a filed, watching your favourite team play while you have a bag of peanuts, a hot dogs and a cold one" Falcon said
"AAMI Stadium, watching the Shadow in one hand a piping hot meat pie with a bit of tomato sauce in one hand, the scarf of Port Power in the other" Miss Crimson said earning a few dirty looks from her students
"You go for Port Power?" Angie asked
"Yeah" Miss Crimson said
"I'm sorry but true south Aussies go for the Adelaide Crows" Angie said
"Greater Western Sydney" Matilda said
"Go Geelong!" Kat shouted
"I agree on the Crows" Julie said
"West Coast Eagle" Mel said
"Wow, what a variety of teams" Riley said
"Oh indeed there's about 19 teams in the league with a 20th one coming soon" Kat said
"Indeed" Angie said
"Still bummed we're the 20th" Kat pouted
"Hang on, you go for the Cats' Mel said
"Only because the Northern Territory doesn't have a team, oh by the way" Kat said holding her hand up
"I'm partial to the Suns" Indy said as she stopped a ball that was flying at them "CRASH!"
"Sorry" Crash blushed as he was on the first base
"Come on guys" Zack said as he had gotten to the home plate
"It's good to see people lively, given what has been happening in the world, I'm amazed that there are still those who enjoy life and are able to be heroes" Falcon said.
Soon it was down to the last batsman being Zack while Bobby was the last bowler.
"COME ON ZACK, KNOCK IT OUT OF THE WAY, GET A FOUR RUNNER!" his team said
"Strike him out baby, knock him on his ass, YOU GOT THIS!" the Kirby students shouted
"Come on then, let's see what you got?" Zack said as he got into his stance
"Okay then" Bobby said as he was about to pitch
"GET ON WITH IT!" a voice shouted, one that made everyone look in a certain direction. Standing there with a bucket of popcorn was none other than Spot, "Um go Kirby?" he reluctantly asked. Zack and Bobby looked at each other, Zack passing him the ball as he got ready to swig "oh shit" Spot said as he saw Zack slammed the ball in his direction, he quickly opened a gate and allowed the ball to fly into it, and out at fully flying at Falcon and Miss Crimson, who quickly held up a wing, making the ball drop to the ground.
"Oh great"
"Watch it" Falcon growled as he grabbed one of his guns and aimed it at where Spot was, only to see him missing
"Pause the game, we have another Spotty infestation" Zack said making the guys stand back to back. Most of them were watching for signs of Come on come on where is he?" Bobby asked
"Eyes on a swivel guys" Bruce said, sniffing the air.
"ABOVE YOU!" Matilda shouted as a sot appeared above them, making Spot fall to the ground.
"That hurt" Spot said as he got up and saw him encircled them.
"Hey Spot" Bobby said
"Oh hey Everyman" Spot said getting up, after untangling his spindly arms and legs "Ena heard about Brittany, man I hope it was a painful death" Spot laughed before a very ladylike 'ahem' came from behind him. "What?" he asked turning around, only to see a smiling Brittany
"Hi" she smiled before growling as she uppercutted him "JERK!" she shouted as she sent him flying into a hole, he suddenly popped up behind her
"HEY BEHIND YOU!" Wyatt shouted throwing it, only for it to enter a hole and exit out another hole, hitting Henry in his own balls.
"Ow" Henry wheeze hitting the dirt
"Sorry Wheelie" Wyatt winced
"I forgot he could do that" Zack grumped. "But thankfully I got a new trick" he smirked
"Oh?" Bobby asked as a hole opened up in front of him, two long spindly fingers poking Bobby in the eyes "OH, THAT SPOTTED DICK!"
"I AM NOT A PUDDING!" Spot snapped
"I got him" Dennis and said as he used his quirk to throw Falcon's shield at Spot, only for another spot to open up as the shield flew down at Bruce's feet
"WATCH IT!" Bruce shouted
"We need a multi attack" Zack said as a hole opened up, Brittany's fist coming through, thankfully he caught it
"Sorry" Brittany said.
"As long as he's in there he can make as many holes as he wants" Bobby growled as he rubbed his eyes.
"I know, so time to show off that new trick" Zack said raising his foot to the hole which was a meter in front of them
"Oh what is that going to do?" Spot asked
"Oh, just this" Zack smirked whipping his leg back, making a vacuum of wind, pulling Spot out of the hole, as he tumbled over and over again.
"Neat trick" Bobby said
"Indeed" Jenner said as he turned into a water buffalo and charged. Seeing this Spot created a hole under him and dove in
"Slippery little bastard" Bobby said
"Hang on I got an idea" Oscar said as he downed a shot of espresso and dashed off.
"What is he doing?" Bobby asked
"That was close" Spot said as Oscar came back smiling "And what are you smiling about?" Spot asked before he got hit in the head by something "What was that? Spot asked before he bent down and picked it up and saw it was a "BAGEL! YOU DARE THROW A BAGEL AT ME!" he raged before he was hit by anther
"No, we dare hit you with stale bagels" Oscar smirked
"THAT'S WORSE!" Spot shouted
"Tell me, are you a sesame seed or Poppy seed kind of guy" Donna took one and threw it
"He looks like a everything bagel" Julie said
"Indeed" Brittany said
"Oh I know, tried an onion one" Kylie said grabbing one and clapped her hands making it disappeared before she made five appear and threw them at Spot
"OF, AH, OUCH!" he shouted
"Come on then, what you scared of bagels?" Bobby taunted
"Maybe he is" Zack said giving off lightning, Spot saw this and stepped back
"He's electrophobic" Zack said as he fired off several more bolts of lightning.
"I'M OUT OF HERE!" Spot shouted a she dove into his own hole.
"Jackass" Bobby growled
"Guess the fight and game are over" Zack sighed
"Indeed" Dennis said
"Oh man we were just warming up" Wyatt snapped
"I must say it was fun" Terrance said
"Let's play again sometime" Bruce said
"Anyway I'm here for a reason" Falcon said as he waked over, placing his shield on his back
"What is it Uncle Sam?" Bobby asked
"Kirby's back up and running" Falcon said
"Wait you mean?" Donna asked
"YOU all can go home" Falcon said
"ALRIGHT!" they all cheered.
"Damn it's going to be quiet again once you leave" Kylie said
"I'll give you a day or two to get ready" Falcon said as he opened his wings and took off.
"So you want to finish that game?" Dennis asked
"YOU'RE ON!" they all shouted as they got ready to play again.
G'day Guys Grizz here, and yeah I had no plan what to do for this chapter and yet it somehow turned into them playing a mix of Cricket and Baseball neither of which know about, I'm a footy guy which is why I included the girls talking about it, plus I thought it would be funny for Spot to get beaten up after he revealed himself to be a sports fan, plus you all know you wanted him to be hit with bagels all over again, or at least I did, but sadly that will be the last of the Kirby kids we're going to be seeing in awhile
