Day 402, 5:10 PM

Emergency Medical Center

Pulling up their masks, Kaminari and his squad follow the armed man to the emergency medical center. He leads them through the gates and calls out to his teammates. They all join him on the front and Kaminari counts them. Six on six, they're on equal footing. Good. And if the worst happens, he could unleash his indiscriminate shock on them, providing that the others manage to read between the lines and get the fuck out of dodge in time.

"What do we have here," CC exclaims upon seeing the kids. "Intruders or people just passing by for a tourist attraction?"

"This is the punk!" Cardiac begins. "This is the punk I saw earlier on my bike."

"You mean my bike," Chargebolt corrects.

"Hey, it was at that gated community. I found it, so, therefore, it is my bike."

"No is my bike." CHargebolt spots his dirt bike to the right of him and steps toward it. Cardiac blocks his path. "Get out of my way."

"Your bike? Does it have your name on it?"

"Yes, it does. GO on, check the backside of the bike."

"Haha, sure thing. I've always loved checking out backsides so why not." He heads over to the bike and looks at the rear of it to find the words 'Denki Kaminari' written in a permanent marker on the very back. It wasn't big enough for people to see from a distance but up close, the person standing over it could read it.

"Really?" He steps forward, blocking the name from view. "What is your name?"

"Chargebolt."

"No, idiot, what happens to be the name on the bike?"

"Denki Kaminari."

Cardiac turns. "I don't see any Denki Kaminari on it."

Xanax steps forward and looks at the bike. "Nah man, I see it. yeah, it's his bike."

Cardiac slaps him. "Dude?"

"What?" He looks at his companion with genuine confusion.

"Shut the fuck up, man."

"What did I say? I was just saying that I see the young man's name on it."

"Shut up."

"Why?"

"Because I said so."

"But that's not a good reason. A good reason to tell someone to shut up would be if they're giving away TMI... or... ya know, 'Too Much Information' and-"

"Both of you shut the fuck up now!" CC barks at them and shushes the two paramedics bickering like children. "Now then, where were we? So, you're Denki Kaminari and you came all this way just for your bike? Is that it? The one and only thing you're here for?"

"Yes."

Earphone Jack steps up. "And... we were hoping to trade." She gestures to one of the ambulances. "We noticed that you have a lot of medical supplies and we were wondering if we could talk about trading. Anything to get some medicine."

CC looks at Earphone Jack and chuckles. "Aww, I like you, punk rock girl. Straight to the point, just like I like, hot and off the grill like a nice juicy T-bone. Plate-licking good."

"Isn't it supposed to be finger-licking good?" Vantablack asks Grape Juice discreetly. The pervert nods.

"So," Earphone Jack continues, "do we gotta a deal or something?"

"Hold onto your horses, punk rock, or whatever your name is. It seems like this deal is... one-sided. First of all, you follow us back to where we hang our hats and then demand that we return something we found. Finders keepers, leavers losers. And now only that, but you're also asking us to forsake one of our ambulances for you. Am I missing something?"

"We have a group, a big group and we're in desperate need of supplies. Especially medicine. We couldn't find any in that gated community."

"Is that so?"

"Yes. And I'm assuming you didn't either considering all you came back with was our friend's dirtbike."

CC suppresses a smirk. "That's right, we returned with nothing but your yellow-haired friend's dirtbike."

"Haha," Chagebolt exclaims, "so you admit it was my dirtbike. So, are you going to give it back now or-"

"Leavers losers."

Chargebolt makes a fist. "I guess I'm going to have to take it from you then."

"Over my dead body. The same goes for our medical supplies as well. Got it? Look, you should consider yourselves lucky we didn't pop a cap right between your eyes the second we saw you. Well, it was Cardiac who found you but still."

"Like I said, we're willing to trace." Earphone Jack Looks around. "If you give us his dirtbike back, we could give you something as collateral for when we bring something back. We just need... we just need his bike back and some medical supplies. Is there something you're lacking or wanting? There's only six of you each and I'm sure it's getting harder for you to find supplies since these zombies aren't dropping dead."

She removes her mask.

"My name is Kyuoka Jirou; I went to Class 1-A at UA High."

CC looks at her with a smirk. "I knew I'd recognize you from anywhere."

"I went to UA, which means I received some hero course training. We all have. We've made it this far into the apocalypse and we're only kids. We have experience both before and after the apocalypse; we can help each other. If there's something you want, we'll get it for you. In exchange for some supplies and our friend's dirtbike."

Chargebolt looks at Jirou and smirks. Yeah, Earphone Jack, working those people-talking skills.

"You're not heroes anymore," CC points out. "If you guys are still alive, it's because you've done horrible things to survive, am I right? Have you guys... killed anybody? Did you enjoy it?"

"If you're implying something then here's a question: if we're such dangerous killers who take pleasure in causing death and mayhem, why haven't we attacked you yet? Why are we offering to help you?"

CC nods. "Huh, good point, I will admit. Okay then, you have my full attention. But seriously, all of this just for a bike and medical supplies?" He looks away and strokes his chin. "Huh, I think I might have an idea... a sort of... proposal. But first, let me think about it."

We still need to make the dropoff to our clients by morning time, but the zombie horde a few intersections down still isn't clearing out. If we want a chance at saving our necks and not having him put his killer hands all over us, then we gotta make this deadline, no matter what. We don't stand a chance against a horde but if these high school brats are still alive, they know their way around zombies better than we do. Besides, they got into the hero course at UA; they have the PERFECT combat quirks.

He eyes each of the kids individually.

"Before I come to a conclusion, I need you all to answer something: what are your blood types?"

Kaminari: O. Jirou: A. Kuroiro: A. Komori: A. Mineta: A. Kenta: B.

Goddamn it, no one with AB blood. We're getting short on our AB blood supply. Damn it. Well, at least we got more A blood so we should go with that. He nods. "Interesting. Okay then. Well, before I tell you our proposition, there is a condition. Are you willing to spare at least three of you as collateral?"

"Who?" Earphone Jack folds her arms across her chest after putting her mask back into place.

"The big guy and two tiny ones."

King Dragon, Shemage, and Grape Juice look at the paramedic with confusion.

CC continues. "We need three of them to stay here as collateral. Not only that, but we also need them to donate one pint of blood each. Is that okay with you?"

"What?" Earphone Jack narrows. "Why?"

"We are paramedics and believe it or not, we operate on people and we're in desperate need of blood. Would you guys be willing to donate some blood?"

The three kids look at the paramedic leader with suspicion before Earphone Jack steps in.

"Is that it? We just give you blood and you'll give us medicine and our bike back?"

"No. I will only give you some medicine and your bike back if you make a simple delivery for us; the three kids are collateral damage and the pint of blood comes with it. Understand?"

"Delivery? What kind of delivery?"

This dumb bitch. "What other kind of delivery can you think of? You see any postmen around? You see any FedEx or UPS trucks? How about a semi carrying a trailer with the words 'Amazon' spray painted across the front? Eh, you see any of those around?"

"Fuck you."

"Fuck you. Now listen to my proposal. We will give you an ice chest or two with an address listed on it. You will deliver the ice chest to its intended destination and drop it off at a doorstep. Once that happens, you will then leave the place and come back here. See, simple."

"If it's so simple, why can't you do it?"

"Because... bimbo... the address is on the other side of several zombie hordes flooding a few intersections. Our hands-on client is anxious about next-day delivery so normally, we would deliver it as soon as possible but with that large horde cutting us off, that's not an option for us. Not only that but we don't have your kind of combat experience. We will give you the bike so you can make this deliver along with a car so you can pick up the supplies at the address our client dropped off and then ride on back. Afterward, once you're back here and we confirm that our order was fulfilled, then... we'll give you some medicine and your bike back. But... the big guy and two midgets stay here as collateral and they are required to draw at least one pint of blood."

Earphone Jack narrows her eyes again and tries to get a fix on this person. "What is in the goddamn ice chest?"

"That is need-to-know and the only thing you need to know is the address to drop it off at."

After a few seconds of thinking, something clicks that makes her stoic expression fade away into one of horror. "It's organs, isn't it?"

"What?"

"Organs? There's organs in the ice chest, aren't there?"

"What makes you say-"

"What other kind of shipment from a hospital needs ice to keep cool?"

CC arches his brows in surprise before nodding with a smile. "Wow, smart girl. You're really smart." He sighs heavily. "You're right... it is indeed organs that are being transported."

"You're organ harvesters."

"We are. But... what we're doing isn't anything new. All kinds of doctors and hospitals existed before where people donated their organs to other people who were in desperate need of a heart transplant or a liver transplant. Kidney, gallbladder, blood, you name it, and what we're doing is no different. It is the end of the world and we need medical resources now more than ever. What happens if one of you were to suddenly collapse because of a bad kidney? Where are you going to get it? Huh? What, you just going to rip it out of your boyfriend's body here? No, you're not. That's our job. Our job is to provide those organs to make sure that humanity has a better chance of surviving. Just because the world ended doesn't mean the way things were before ended. Diabetes still exists. The same with cancer, brain tumors, fevers, disease, flesh-eating bacteria, they all still exist but now, only in a world where the world is slowly dying from something that isn't natural."

"Whose organs are they?"

"It doesn't matter! All that matters is that you guys get this ice chest along with all the contents inside across the zombie horde and to the address before 7 in the morning, no exceptions, understand? And your friends here have to submit to a blood donation. That's the price of giving you your bike back and getting a van full of medical supplies, understand?"

Earphone Jack hesitates before looking over at her three classmates. "Are you guys okay with that? Are you guys okay with staying here?"

King Dragon looks at the others. "I'm fine. We'll be okay. If anything goes wrong, I'll protect them."

She whispers to him. "We don't know what their quirks are so be careful."

"They don't know what my quirk is," King Dragon whispers back. "Trust me."

She turns to Shemage and Grape Juice. "How about you guys, are you okay with staying here as collateral?"

"I'm afraid of needles," Shemage admits. "But... if we have to, sure." She smirks internally. Besides, if these doctors get frisky with me, I'll show them how bad of a shroom I can be.

Grape Juice smiles. "Girls like it when a man donates blood. Count me in."

Vantablack steps forward. "I'm staying here. You know to keep an eye on them."

"No," Earphone Jack says firmly. "No, you are not. You're coming with us." She slightly winks at him, grabbing his full attention. She turns back to CC. "We have a deal."

"Excellent. You won't regret this business opportunity."

Earphone Jack rolls her eyes. "Whatever."

Ten Minutes Later

Earphone Jack loads up an ice chest in the back of a jeep the paramedics provided for her. She was allowed to keep her backpack so she loaded the Gung Ho Glitter Squad 10 toy figure the paramedics gave her inside. Kaminari got on his bike before kissing the handles.

"Aww, my sweet Suzy, I missed you so much; I'm sorry the mean men scared you."

Vantablack jumps in the backseat of the jeep and hugs his knees to his chest. "Alrighty then, let's go."

"Roger that." Earphone Jack starts up the jeep before driving off. Chargebolt follows shortly after her.

Earphone Jack watches the emergency medical center shrink in the rearview mirror before vanishing from sight. A few seconds later, she pulls off to the side of the road and puts the car in park. "I lied, you're not coming with us; you're staying."

"I figured. I mean, you winked so I figured that is what gave it away."

"Take the jeep, head back, and spy on the medical center from the trees to make sure those paramedics aren't up to any good. We'll come back as soon as possible."

"I'm walking back. If we're here to collect supplies for these paramedics, then we're probably going to need a jeep to get back so you take it and I'll walk back."

"But... we're not going to need a jeep anyway; the zombies are blocking the roads so our only shot is to ride through the forest."

"Take it, just in case. Take it to the very edge of the zombie horde and then you ride the rest of the way on Kaminari's dirtbike."

"Are you fine with walking?"

"Yeah. I like walking."

Earphone Jack pats him on the shoulder. "Good luck, Shihai, be careful."

"You too, Kyouka." He climbs out of the jeep. He runs to Chargebolt and explains the plan. They fistbump. "Don't hit your head."

"Wouldn't be the first time."

Vantablack begins heading back while sticking to the shadows in the dark.

"Damn." Kaminari removes his mask and rides forward until he's beside Jirou. "You good. Ready?"

"Ready." She puts the car into drive again. "Let's go."

5:45

After driving for about twenty minutes or so, the two vehicles stop just as they cross an intersection. No zombie horde. They move on forward until they spot something roughly a hundred meters ahead of them. Kaminari turns off his headlight and Jirou does the same before parking the jeep to the side. Jirou climbs out and narrows her eyes.

The sun wasn't set yet but darkness was closely approaching and soon, they would be in the woods at dark. Not a good place to be in the apocalypse.

Jirou spots the horde at the other intersection one hundred meters away and nods resoundedly. "Huh, looks like we found our horde."

"Yeah, I see it. Big."

"Typical for a horde." She reaches into the back of the jeep and grabs the ice chest. She grabs the map taped to the top and looks it over. "Okay, we could try taking a few back roads but they're all blocked off by zombies so... we're going to have to cut through the forest, and then... we when we cross the street, we're going to have to wait for an opening."

"Unless you happen to have a dirt bike and you know how to do some awesome tricks. Right, eh?"

She chuckles. "Sure."

The ice chest they brought with them wasn't one of those big ice chests one takes to a party, no, this was travel size so it came with those handles that allowed it to be carried like a handbag or a bucket of water. She quickly climbs on the back of the dirtbike and wraps her left hand around his body with the other hand dangling by her side with the ice chest in.

"You got a good grip?"

She nods. "Sure do."

"So, where are we going again?"

Jirou looks at the map. "Okay. So, the intersections should be where it is most crowded. The intersection is where all the zombies converge, so it'll have the most number of zombies. But... if we drive along the road to the right where zombies are coming from, then we have a chance because the roads aren't as crowded. There's a good chance we'll find an opening and if we get caught, all we have to do is ride into the forest and lose them."

"Sounds risky."

"It is...unless you happen to have a dirt bike and you know how to do some awesome tricks. Right, eh?"

Kaminari laughs. "Nice one. So, what's the plan?"

"I know it's not possible but maybe we could find a hill to jump over the zombies."

"Yeah, we can do that. But... I won't be able to jump as far and high as I can all by myself. Not that I'm calling you fat or anything but this offroad bike is mostly designed for one passenger."

"Got it. Again, we should only focus on finding hills and jumping over the roads only if possible. For now, we'll just travel along the road until we find an opening."

"Got it." He revs up the bike before cutting through the forest with Jirou hanging on tightly, both to the electric boy and the ice chest.

6:00 PM

"Ow," Shemage rubs her sore inner elbow. "Damn, why do those needles hurt so much."

ICU holds up the bag of her blood. "Thanks a lot for your donation. Normally, I'd give you some cookies and orange juice so you don't feel sick but... we're fresh out." He applies a bandage to her inner elbow.

"Damn you."

"But, since I feel so bad for you and as a reward." He takes out a pack of Skittles. "Here... this is the last of the Skittles I was saving for today."

"Thank you." She reaches out only for him to snatch the bag back. "What?"

After pulling his surgeon mask down, he pours the Skittles into his mouth like water pouring into a plant and chews on them loudly. Afterward, he makes sure that his swallowing and gulping afterward is loud for the mushroom girl to hear. "Ahh, tasty Skittles, am I right?"

Shemage looks at him with a glare. "You're a bad shroom, asshole."

"Sure I am. So, to make it up to you..." He heads over to another ice chest and pulls something out. It's a juice box. "Here. For real."

She snatches the juice box from him and sips it, smacking her lips at the flavor. "Orange?"

"Artificially orange flavor with three percent fruit juice. At your service."

Shemage continues to glare at him before climbing out of her chair. ICU looks at her before turning to an ice chest and loading her blood up in it. He quickly labels the box before turning away.

She steps through the door and heads into the waiting area where King Dragon and Grape Juice wait, both with bandages on their inner elbows. Interestingly enough, they both have juice boxes with artificially flavored orange juice inside.

"How did it go?" She takes a seat in the chair between them.

"I didn't even get a cookie," Grape Juice complains. "And the juice in this box tastes horrible."

"I'm fine," King Dragon confirms, "can't kill me so early."

"Okay, good." She leans back in her chair and looks around.

"I'm going to go scope the place out; be careful." Grape Juice stands up and tosses his empty juice box to the side before vanishing down the hall.

Shemage looks at King Dragon. "Did they do anything to you?"

"Just draw blood and load it up in an ice chest." King Dragon rests his elbows on his knees. "By the way, did they do anything to you? You know, like trick you into thinking you were getting a cookie or a sweet of some kind?"

"Yeah, those assholes."

"Tell me about it. Was it a chocolate bar they teased you with?"

"Skittles."

"Damn. These people got Skittles? Man, I miss Skittles so much."

"Who doesn't miss Skittles?" She chuckles before finishing her juice. "You should drink the rest so you don't feel dizzy. I mean, you already lost a pint of blood and-"

"This takes like sink water." He sips from the pouch by poking the straw under his mask before winching. "Damn. Brr..."

"I know." She looks around to check for anyone. "Do you trust these guys?"

"I don't trust anyone outside our group. They caught one of us without our mask and they didn't attack but I'm still wary. Remember the Bystanders? How they hated us just for existing?"

"Yeah. They're pretty much the whole reason we wear masks to begin with."

"These guys have seen the faces of at least one of us and can deduce the identities of the rest of us. Except me because I didn't go to UA. Also, I don't know if you noticed, but... they chose you, me, and Grape Juice of all people to stay behind. They could've chosen anyone since we all pretty much have the same blood type but they chose us. The big guy and the two small ones."

Shemage nods and thinks long and hard about it. "In terms of physical strength, Grape Juice and I are the weakest but you're also the strongest."

"And the most muscular; I got a lot of tissue on my bones and a fast metabolism. And there's the whole fact of the organ harvesters themselves."

"back then, when people donated, it was willingly and without too much of a risk because there were plenty of doctors and medical supplies to go around but now... it's everyone for themselves and..."

"I doubt someone would give their body up willingly like this. Would you give your kidney to a doctor or would you rather give it to someone in your group?"

"Good point. So, the organs these guys took..."

"I doubt they took them from a willing subject." King Dragon looks around. "We gotta go find Grape Juice; we can't let him wander off alone."

"Right."

But by the time they got up, Grape Juice was already halfway eavesdropping on someone using a radio in the other room.
