The owl carried with it a small package wrapped in silver paper with a simple blue bow allowing her to carry it much more easily. On top of it was a letter. Luna always a wordsmith opened the letter and began to scan the writing hoping to determine who this mysterious correspondent may be.

Lovely Loony,

You are worth so much more than you seem to give yourself credit for. I find that I am quite nervous asking this, but is there anyone that you absolutely would not accept as a suitor? What do you want more than anything?

I sent something in the hope of showing you just how sincere I am in my pursuit of you. I know that not many would likely consider me to be worthy. I don't know perhaps it's just my nerves you see I've never really opened myself to anyone like this. There is a reason why I so secluded during our school days. It at least leads to me developing a career that is worth pursuing. My hope is that by the time Valentine's Day arrives you will find me worthy of taking you out for the big night.

Valentine

Luna smiled down at the letter. It had been a while since someone had attempted to pursue her in such a way. That made her happy in a special way. Luna gently unwrapped the small package and found the box had been shrunk. The blonde tapped the box with care using her wand and it expanded. Opening the box, she found a beautiful perfume and lotion set from one of those expensive muggle companies that Colin and others used to talk about, Channel. The perfume in a clear bottle with the company logo on it allowed her to smile at the memories of her friends and fallen love telling her about how the company was known for some of the softest most lovely scents. She removed the cap and smelled the delicious scent softly spraying two spritzes into the air and walking into it. Then rubbing her hands in with some of the lotion.

Luna rose from her chair and poured herself some English breakfast tea. Then went about getting dressed for her first day of training. She wore her simple black pants that hugged her bottom just right and paired it with a green silk tunic with a slit that just hinted at her cleavage but revealed nothing. She pulled a dot of her hair lotion through her hair and brushed her silky blonde hair. Then applied the slightest bit of make-up to make her complexion fine, and lip balm on her lips to keep them moist. She slipped on black flats and a green robe and made her way down to have her normal breakfast of yogurt and berries and finish her tea. She As Luna moved about the rest of her day she smiled softly as the scent of her new perfume wafted through the air.

Her first day of training was pretty boring if Luna was honest with herself. She showed up and went through the usual security checks that included a check of her identity and wand. Then she had gone up to the level where she had watched her first death since her mother.

Luna kept her face as neutral as she could until she came to the room of death and time. She started to fall apart as she came into view of the veil. The person who had been responsible for her recruitment was understanding thankfully, since it was Neville's great-uncle. When they made their way to the room where Luna would be studying the current research projects that the Department was working on she was feeling better. A born academic in many ways Luna was most at home with books and research and creating things of her own design and desire.

When she returned home later that evening she settled into the chair and took a deep breath. She forced herself to get back up and go to take a shower making sure to double cleanse and dress carefully in a pair of soft grey sweats and a black low cut tank top and settled in to brush her hair and read while she waited for Mipsy to bring her dinner and tea. She then put aside her book and began to write a response to her mysterious correspondent.

Valentine,

Thank you for the lovely and thoughtful gift. It truly is sweet on so many different levels. I am not honestly sure if there is anyone I would necessarily reject out of hand. I do know that I would like to get to know you a bit better. What are your favorite books? What was your favorite class at Hogwarts? This can help me and you to know if we are compatible as you seem to think.

Luna

The next day after her owl, Hermes had taken off with her response she woke to another letter and gift. This time the gift was wrapped in silver with a blue bow on it. As she opened it she found a beautiful bracelet with sapphires set into the silver of the bracelet.

Lovely Loony,

I am so pleased to hear that you would not be inclined to reject anyone out of hand. Still, I fear that I might be the exception once you know who I am. To answer your questions, I love so many different kinds of books. I do though find that I prefer anything to do with Arithmancy and spell creation. I charmed the bracelet to protect you against harm from others psychologically. I can only imagine the things that must haunt you after everything. I know that I have my own ghost to contend with. I am very interested in those fields, and one is the field that I am working in currently. What about you?

Valentine

Luna smiled to herself and spoke to her owl companion, "a kindred spirit imagines that." Luna thought back to her old charm made of butterbeer caps. She had been still hoping for what everyone else wanted back then, perhaps it would come now even if so late.
