The third instalment of the Jack Arnold Fanfic Universe. Alas, Jack's efforts were in vain. Or were they? Regardless, it still falls to our brave hero to undo the Ascension Project and save the Multiverse. But what is lying in wait for him at the end of his journey?

Chapter 6

Distortion in the Doom Zone

As I looked around White Space, I then caught the sight of another structure, this time resembling a chalky white canyon. Walking up to it, I saw another black egg expelling a strange black mist. "And that is a Sealing Device.", Fafnir's voice said. "Sealing what?", I asked. "Your Doom Powers, I would imagine.", Fafnir's voice said. Entering the structure, I then found myself in a desolate canyon with what appeared to be a mechanised rail station in parts of it. Moving forward, I found myself grinding on a rail, noticing many other rails to my right and left. As the rails came to a stop, I then ran forward on mechanical ground, avoiding the onslaught of enemies as I did so. Coming to a mechanical barrier surrounded by green bomber planes, I unleashed the power of the Azure Grimoire and created a giant pillar of black and dark red energy, destroying the planes and barrier and allowing me to continue. Proceeding down the mechanical corridor that the barrier was obstructing, I saw Black Doom's hologram appear yet again. "You again.", I snarled. "Don't be like that.", Black Doom said the corridor was distorted, transforming into a Doom Zone. This time, I saw the distorted Radical Highway become mixed with a train station, with demonic mechanical trains speeding down the highways as if they were travelling on normal roads. Jumping over a train that was about to crash dead on into me, I ran down it only to end up grinding on the road as well. Dodging past a mechanical gate that had been taken off its hinge and thrown at me, I then found myself back in the canyon, the Doom Zone having disappeared. "Still, you really don't remember travelling through Rail Canyon before?", Black Doom's voice asked. "Is that what this place is called? To be honest, I don't.", I said. Wondering what Black Doom meant by 'before', I then found myself back in White Space, with colour having partly returned to Rail Canyon's structure. Suddenly, I felt an acute chill down my spine, noticing a strange figure in the distance who promptly vanished.

Reentering Rail Canyon, I then noticed a very conspicuous crimson glitch that seemed to be coming from a strange red jewel. Moving forward, I watched as Rail Canyon distorted before my eyes, with dark red lava bursting out of the ground like water geysers. Out of the lava came strange dark red railways that I grinded down, only for me to see what looked like Aoko, Arcueid, Shiki and Artoria praying to a statue of Black Doom. Passing by them, I then saw what appeared to be the Blood Moon appear and shatter reality. Finding that I was floating in the air like I was in zero gravity, I made my way toward the Blood Moon, shooting off Doom Spears to stop the green bomber planes that had suddenly appeared out of thin air. I then suddenly found myself back in White Space with a dark red gear in my hand. "What was that all about?", I asked before I heard Eggman's voice say, "Why, you really don't remember? You were brought to White Space to awaken to your true level of power and embrace your true nature as the Sovereign. After all, it is what you deserve after what YHVH did to you.". "He's right. After all, you returned to us for a reason. And that reason is most pure and most divine.", Clive's voice said. "And White Space is how you will finally regain your divine right as Sovereign.", Barry's voice said. Shrugging, I walked over to the Sealing Device and watched as it absorbed the gear, causing the egg to crack and unleash a glaring red eye as well as a potent black mist that briefly caused my eyes to flash red. Filled with anger, I then noticed an alien with black skin and red splotches sneak up on me, only for me to unleash a violent flurry of punches and kicks that launched the alien up into the air; this was followed up by me unleashing a powerful blast that launched the alien into the distance only for me to warp right in front of the alien and kill it with a blast of dark energy. "Now you have permanent access to the Doom Blast.", Fafnir said. "Is that what it was?", I asked, getting no response.

Panting heavily, I saw a dark purple portal open right in front of me. Walking through it, I found myself in a strange green crystal valley with a giant spider with a black and dark blue exoskeleton and a silver flying saucer with cyan highlights floating above it. Filled with a strange sense of dread, I then felt a strong burst of dark red electricity burst forth from my body. As my dread turned to murderous hatred, I then heard a voice say, "First round: Jack Sebastian Arnold versus the spider, ORT!". "Is that what the spider's called?", I asked. "Oh yes. My name is ORT, the One Radiance Thing.", the spider said with a deep booming voice. "Y-You can talk?", I asked, strangely afraid. "Oh yes I can!", ORT said, glowing with a fiery dark blue aura. All of a sudden, ORT unleashed a barrage of dark blue tentacles that I easily dodged, unleashing Doom Spears to stop the tentacles in their tracks. Undeterred, ORT then unleashed a giant burst of light that I easily dodged, promptly running towards ORT whilst propelled forwards by the Negative Speed Force. Unleashing the power of the Azure Grimoire, I then unleashed a powerful burst of black and dark red energy that easily smashed through a strange crystal barrier that ORT had manifested. Covered in a black and dark red fire, I then unleashed a greater volley of Doom Spears than ever before, skewering ORT and easily piercing through the cosmic supernova that ORT had manifested. As ORT attempted to unleash an even brighter supernova, I then unleashed a furious volley of punches and kicks, finishing up the volley with a Doom Blast, causing the spider to disappear.

Returning to White Space, I found yet another black and dark red gear in my hand. It was at this moment that I also noticed another Sealing Device. Walking over to it, I saw the gear enter the black egg causing it to hatch and unleash a glaring red eye and a potent black mist. As my eyes briefly flashed red, I then walked into a body of water without thinking only to summon a black manta ray like creature with red eyes that I was strangely riding. "Now you have permanent access to the Doom Surf.", Fafnir's voice said as I surfed across the water, only to find myself at the top of a tower where I saw the portal that led to ORT. Suddenly, Black Doom's hologram then appeared. "What do you want now?", I asked. "Seems your Doom Powers are awakening perfectly. You'll be a fine Sovereign yet.", Black Doom said. "Why do you and the Chosen want me to become the Sovereign so badly?", I asked. "Why, only the Sovereign can make the Ascension Project a success. And since you are the only person with an equal disposition to all four types of Dahnan astral energy after Alphen and Vholran, it is your duty to become the Sovereign and make sure the Ascension Project a success. It would be quite irresponsible if you were to say rebel and fight back.", Black Doom said before mysteriously vanishing. This was accompanied by a flash of light revealing several more strange structures, including some covered by a strange purple muck. Shrugging, I then walked off to one of the structures, wondering what was waiting inside.
