5 Heirs
Hermione concentrated for a moment, making the partition disappear. Harry stepped forward and engulfed her in a tight hug, also adding some kisses, before noticing they were not alone. "Miss Bones, I thought you'd already left."
She smiled. "No, Lord Potter, I wanted to discuss something with Lady Potter. I think it's best to discuss it with you as well."
"Fine, but you should only call me Harry in private."
"Then you should call me Susan or Suzy if you prefer."
"And you both know I'm Hermione. As much as I like being Harry's wife, I don't need to be addressed as 'Lady Potter' unless it's a very official occasion."
Susan smiled. "Alright then. As you two are the heirs of three of the founders and I'm the fourth, I was wondering if you'd like to join forces and work together to make Hogwarts what it should be β a modern school that teaches what's needed for life and not only what the inbred idiots can learn. Together, we can dismiss the board of directors and even the headmaster, hire and fire, set guidelines for the school and upgrade the school's policy. We may make tremendous changes for the benefit of the wizarding community, but only if we work together. Any other way, and the board will be reinstated, including all the politics that is holding Hogwarts back for too many generations."
"Wow! I never knew there was such a fire in you," Harry commented.
"I'm a redhead, am I not?" Susan answered, blushing a bit. Evidently, she hadn't intended to sound so fierce.
"You certainly are, and I believe we could work together and herd the magical community into the modern era. My main obstacle right now, is a certain Tom Riddle Junior, AKA Voldemort. Once we can live without that person's threat looming above us, it will be much easier to concentrate on what's the best way to deal with Hogwarts. Right now, I'm more concerned with survival."
Susan's blush deepened. "I understand. I don't think any of us is ready to take over, but if we start cooperating now, we may be ready sooner. I'm also willing to do all I can to help you survive. It would be hard to cooperate if you don't, you know."
Hermione sensed that there was still something unsaid. "Fine, you have our promise to cooperate, and I think we should meet at an earlier hour another day and discuss all the details. Is there anything else you want to tell us?"
Susan blushed deeply again, like when she was disrobed. "I have a very personal request and I hope you won't turn mad at me because of it. You see, as the last of my line, I can't marry anybody who needs an heir, nor anybody who might need one down the way. It's not urgent yet, you know, as I should first finish school before even contemplating marriage and children, yet I've given the subject a lot of thought, especially since Voldemort's return. I've become aware that if my parents had not had me before they died, our line would have ceased to exist. We are now going into a war, I believe, and it's impossible to know who will survive. I don't yet know when the war will erupt; some say it's already begun. Although not urgent for me on the strictly personal level, I believe that as the only survivor of the Bones line, it is my duty to assure its continuation."
Hermione wasn't sure she understood where Susan was going. Wasn't she contradicting herself? And yet it was clear that Susan wanted them, Harry, to help her continue her line. Hermione wasn't sure she could agree to that.
"What do you mean by that?" she asked.
Susan's blushing deepened. "I can't marry anybody who may need an heir, and Harry needs one. You will probably be the one to bring him an heir, but in case he also marries another one, then if for some reason you don't produce an heir, it will become her job, so that other wife cannot be me. I could still be his mistress or his occasional shag, if you agree. I also strongly suggest you both think about your heir, since the war may be nearer than expected."
Hermione wasn't sure she liked this conversation, but Susan was very polite and she could also tell that Susan was extremely serious. She couldn't just dismiss her.
"I believe it's too late to think about anything so important. Why don't you come to our apartment tomorrow after breakfast and we shall discuss both matters thoroughly? I don't want any of us to reach the wrong conclusion due to fatigue."
Susan smiled at her, evidently relieved at not needing to discuss such intimate matters at the moment. "That should be fine. I'll join you at breakfast, then. Goodnight."
Hermione was still pensive long after the buxom redhead left the room. She was brought out of her thoughts when Harry asked, "How did it go?"
It took her a moment to understand what he was referring to. "The meeting went just fine. They all learned at least the basic form of the spell and were able to use it. The meeting was also very educational for me, as I could finally compare myself to other girls, and not only Parvati and Lavender. Actually, most are young women now, not girls any more. How did it go with the boys?"
Harry shrugged. "There were probably more jokes, but they understood how useful it could be, not only in the bedroom. They'll do fine, I believe, even Ron."
"In that case, let's go back to our bedroom. Talking about heirs made me think of the way to get them, and we need a lot of practice, you know."
He smirked. "As you wish, Lady Potter."
β..β
Susan joined them near the end of breakfast. "Did you have any time to think about my suggestion? Both, actually."
Hermione smiled at her. "We didn't have much time to discuss them, but I gave them some thought before I fell asleep. We'd better wait with the details until we reach our apartment, though."
Susan smiled. "Sure. Details tend to be embarrassing." She winked at Hermione, who blushed slightly, wondering if the redhead could imagine their activity before falling asleep.
They only talked about normal school matters until they reached the Potter apartment. Susan looked at everything there with a lot of curiosity. "There are rumours this used to be Godric's apartment. It really is elegant."
Hermione smiled. "There are some runes near the door that could point to that, but they are a bit ambivalent. For all I know, it could be his concubine's apartment."
Susan laughed. "He used to be quite a ladies' man, as far as I know."
Hermione turned serious. "I hope his heir will not follow that example. Still, we need to tackle the heir matter first. Supposing we agree with your request, how do you think that will work?"
Susan blushed. "In that case, I hope Harry would take me soon and do his best to impregnate me before the winter holidays, or shortly after. That will make most of my pregnancy in more tolerable weather, and I'll give birth during the summer, allowing me to resume my studies in the fall."
Hermione saw Harry changing colours, but that was of no importance at the moment. "What will your position be in that case? I don't know enough about the customs in magical society to form an opinion."
"That doesn't really matter, as I don't need to find a groom. Most people will frown at me, getting pregnant before even reaching seventeen, and with no husband, to boot, yet my position as the head of house Bones is assured."
"But how will your child be looked upon?" Hermione insisted.
"My child will be Bones and continue my line. People will accept him as such."
"And what will your relationship with Harry be?"
Susan seemed to have already given that a lot of thought. "That depends mainly on Harry. I can keep his part in it secret, letting nobody know who the father is if he chooses so, orβ¦"
"I won't let a child of mine grow without knowing his father," Harry jumped into the conversation. "If I help you bring a child, I expect to be his father in every way that counts. If, as you suggested yesterday, I'll have a child with Hermione at about the same time, then I want them to grow as siblings."
Both girls looked at him with evident surprise. "Harry, do you know what it may mean to our relationship?" Hermione asked.
Harry sighed. "I don't yet know the full implication. I suspect that if we go that way, you and Suzi will have to cooperate and raise your children quite closely. We may possibly need to live together. It won't make you less of my beloved wife, but it may mean you'll have to share me in a way. We can iron the details later if we agree to this in the first place."
Hermione frowned but turned back to Susan. "Will you be ready to live the way Harry has just described?"
Susan smiled, trying to keep back some tears. "It sounds to me like a dream come true. Just having Harry's child is more than I dared dream until lately. You may have noticed that I had a crush on him since the fourth year, after seeing how he treated other champions, and it only grew stronger last year, during the DA meetings. I suspect I'm deeply in love with him, although I didn't think I had a chance. I believe I can be happy with whatever arrangement you devise, as long as I can have a child with Harry."
Hermione looked at Harry. She didn't know how, but she could sense that he really wanted to help Susan. 'Why not? She looks like she'd give him a very good shag,' she thought bitterly, yet she didn't find it in her heart to oppose the redhead.
"Fine! We shall do it your way. Now, let's see what we should do about Hogwarts."
They talked for most of the morning, examining different ideas and trying to make a kind of framework, that would help them see their goals clearly, leaving the details for later. Hermione noticed that Harry, who found himself sitting between the two girls, seemed content. She vaguely wondered if he would have been as content if any of the two was Ginny. She didn't think so. Ginny was too possessive to share. Hermione hadn't thought of sharing either, until that morning, but spending some time with Susan, she noticed that Susan was really easy to get along with. If that would make Harry happier, she could live with it.
She was actually surprised to find herself suggesting, "Why don't you join us after lunch and let Harry get acquainted with you? Do you need me to teach you the contraceptive charm?"
Susan blushed deeply. "I know it, thank you, and I hope to use it only a few times, as we get to know each other before we try for the pregnancy."
"I believe I'll do the same, yet I'll let you enjoy your first time without my presence."
Susan blushed even deeper. "Thank you so much! I'll be indebted to you forever!"
Hermione sighed. She wasn't sure she liked the new situation, but she couldn't really refuse. Now she was stuck with this. She only hoped it would go well.
Susan sat with them at the Gryffindor table during lunch. Nobody seemed to care. Hermione was quite pensive, letting Susan talk with Harry. She was still wondering if what she had agreed to was not a grave mistake. She noticed that Harry didn't seem to be bothered, though. She didn't know what it meant.
After lunch, Hermione urged Susan to join Harry in bed, while she took another book and tried to immerse herself in studying how to create new spells, hoping to find a new unstoppable spell that would be useful for Harry. She tried very hard not to hear the noises coming from the bedroom. She wished they would have used a silencing charm, and berated herself for not suggesting it.
After a while, Hermione managed to ignore her environment. Luckily, the book was quite interesting, and some ideas mentioned in it seemed to lead her on her way to the spells she wanted to create. She was quite surprised when she felt a tap on her shoulder. Looking up from her book, she saw a very naked Susan.
"Harry asked if you want to come to bed. He really misses you, although he said I could also stay if it's alright with you."
Hermione took a good look at the naked girl. Her face was flushed, her nipples erect, and she could see some signs of her previous activity on her thighs. Harry had certainly done what Susan had come for. Hermione wasn't sure why, but she didn't feel jealous, as she expected. She only felt content that Harry still wanted her, even after being with this fabulous redhead, who was much better endowed than herself. She nodded her agreement and put the book down. A moment later, after using the proper spells, she joined her husband in bed. Harry kissed her passionately and proceeded to show her his love in no uncertain terms. When she finally fell asleep at his side, fully sated, she didn't mind that Susan was hugging Harry from the other side of the bed.
