Sirius quickly threw his stuff into the trunks that were supposed to be packed two hours ago. He glanced around the room quickly, checking to make sure he hadn't left anything inportant behind.

"Sirius Black! You better be down here in two minutes or I'm leaving without you!" His mother, Walburga, called from the entrance. "It's already half past! You will not disappoint our family by being late for the train!"

Sirius quickly closed the remainder of his trunks. He stood and looked at himself in the mirror. His hair was a mess of dark locks falling in front of his face. Sirius swept his hair out of his eyes and straightened his shirt.

The door creaked open and his younger brother, Regulus, stepped inside. "Hey Reggie." Sirius said to the nine year old. "What's up?"

Regulus ran to his brother snd threw his arms around him. Sirius hugged him tight. "I don't want you to go." Regulus said. "I know." Sirius replied. "I'll be back for Christmas. I promise."

Regulus looked up at his brother. "Don't cause Mother and Father too much trouble while I'm gone, yeah?" Regulus nodded. Sirius kneeled down to meet the boy's eye. "Hey. If they do anything bad, just send me an owl, ok? I'll keep you safe. Like always."

Regulus nodded again. Sirius pulled him in for another hug. "Sirius Orion Black get down here this instant!" Walburga called. Sirius pulled back. "That's my cue." Sirius stood up and grabbed the two remaining trunks. "Grab Hoodini, will you?" Regulus grabbed the owl's cage and followed Sirius out of the room and down the stairs.

Sirius and Regulus walk down the stairs silently. Walburga stands in the entrance, arms crossed, waiting impatiently. Sirius set the trunks down and took the owl from Regulus. "I'll see you at Christmas." Sirius whispered to him before walking towards their mother, two trunks and the cage in tow.

Walburga pulled out her wand and Sirius did his best not to flinch. She levitated the trunks and the owl cage to where she was standing. "We're apparating there. Say goodbye, Regulus." Regulus stood up straighter as his mother said his name. "Goodbye, Sirius."

Sirius grabbed hold of one trunk and held Walburga's arm as they apparated out of the manor.
