The Doors
The students broke towards their targets; Thirteen was on her feet, "Ren, prepare for incoming," she called out.
The caps on her gloves opened, her quirk flared out, and Flyer was yanked out of the sky and toward the ground. Thirteen cut her quirk quickly; Hiryu fired his quirk, hitting the villain from just a few feet away. The Flyer fell from the sky; Hiryu slammed him to the ground and hammered him with elbows till he stopped moving.
With a push from her powerful legs, Pony raced towards Magnetism. She felt the pull on the metal rings of her costume to yank her off balance, but she was ready. She leaned into the pull and fired her horns midair, forcing the villain to deactivate her quirk and dive for cover. Pony rolled, pushed off the ground, and was charged toward the villain once again. Magnetism got to one knee, and the two locked eyes. Pony fired her horns again. The villain dived to the side, hoping to avoid the hit, but Pony split them, sending one in each direction. The villain took a direct hit in the stomach, the horn bit deep, and Magnetism was knocked off course and back rolling across the ground. Pony didn't stop; as the villain pushed herself up, Pony landed a hellacious running knee strike to the side of the villain's head, turning their lights out.
Invulnerable ran at Thirteen, hoping to take the hero down, but Bondo came from the side and tackled him in perfect form, wrapping his arms and driving with his legs. He lifted the villain off his feet and off to the side. They crashed to the ground. Bondo let out a grunt of pain as they hit, but he didn't let go, even when Invulnerable landed a few elbow strikes. Bondo just pushed with his legs, able to land a head butt and force the villain's head back. Bondo was now over him and let his quirk go. The glue-like substance was poured out, splashing across the villain's face. The villain had been about to yell something when the attack happened, and glue filled their mouth. They swung recklessly at Bondo. Some of the shots landed, but Bondo didn't stop. His quirk kept flowing, and Bondo sprung to his feet as the villain was clawing frantically at glue; he changed targets to the villain's legs, locking him in place.
Thirteen was suddenly thrown away, crashing into the ground. She cried out in pain. Her vision blurred, only to be hit by the invisible force of the Repulsion villain again; this time, she crashed into the wall; she nearly passed out as the back of her helmet cracked. She slumped to one knee, and through the haze of pain, she saw Hiryu get launched away. She grits her teeth and unleashes her quirk; the villain is yanked forward. They try to activate their quirk to knock Thirteen back, but their energy is consumed by Black Hole. They were over-matched in the battle of quirks; Thirteen didn't stop even when the villain screamed. They were pulled forward, and parts of them were torn off by the power of the Black Hole. She cut her quirk and speared the villain to the ground; she grabbed them by the head and started head-butting them. Her face shield cracked, and parts broke, but she didn't stop. The haze lifted slightly, the villain's face a bloody and broken mess, and she fell to the side. She tried to push herself up, but her arms trembled and gave out from under her. There was so much pain that Thirteen fought desperately against the encroaching darkness.
Toru was in a tangle of limbs and claws as she wrestled the Lizard Woman to the ground; this villain had gotten the advantage. Toru was struggling to keep up the fight, she had landed some good blows but this villain was stronger, faster and her claws were razor sharp. Blood was running down Toru's arms and from her stomach from the cuts and gashes. Toru grits her teeth and grabs the villain's head, plunging her thumbs into the villain's eyes. A gutter scream came from the Lizard woman as she reared back, her claws raked across Toru's forearms, blood splattered everywhere. Toru scrambled free, landing an up-kick in the process. The Lizard woman leaped blindly at Toru, only for a sudden gust of wind to lift the villain airborne and send them flying to the plaza below. Sen came running and slid next to Toru; he quickly pulled out bandages and began to wrap her arms.
"Cutting it a little close there," Toru managed through the pain.
"Well, you know heroes have to wait for the last moment to swoop in," Sen retorted, earning a laugh from Toru.
"Thank you," Toru said.
Shipwreck Zone
Setsuna broke apart as she watched some nutjob from 1-A with rockets in his leg fire them, sending him toward the boat. It wasn't crazy, but if he landed on the boat from this altitude and speed, it might just kill him, but it would for sure break him. The others she sent to try and help the rock-headed boy came from 1-A. She was worried about her classmate, but Manga was launching villains out of the water, sending them cartwheeling through the air like toys thanks to his quirk and what Setsuna guessed were Depth Charges.
Tenya may have muttered a curse as his thruster push was too strong, and instead of landing him near the boat, he had put him over the deck. He was scanning, trying to find a place to land, when he felt an arm slip under one shoulder and a leg up around the other. There was a moment of panic; he thought it was a villain, but then he saw the purple costume. He looked up and back and saw Setsuna's torso and head floating above him. It allowed him to take a breath as it slowed his descent to the deck below; as he came in, he tucked and rolled with the impact to lessen the damage.
Koji Koda was not a fan of violence, but he understood that violence had its place in the world. Thankfully for him, the Piranha trio attacking him had a heavy animal mutation; when the lead attacker came in at him, Koda could influence him and make him swerve left and right into the jaws of his teammate/brother. The third broke around the other two and came at Koda, Koda was able to deflect the attack, but he quickly had to move to keep himself afloat. When the attacker doubled back, he was unable to stop him from biting into Koda's arm; his rocky skin offered some resistance but not much. Koda slipped his hand into the thing's mouth with force, and with his quirk, he made the thing release him. He swam as fast as he could, trying to escape; the other two ignored him as they tore into each other. Koda panicked as the third was coming for his legs when someone's appendages swooped in, grabbed the villain, hoisted them from the water, and threw them away.
Set breathed a sigh of relief. When Tenya landed, she sent her limbs to join Koda's rescue attempt as more villains raced towards the 1-A student. She spied Manga climbing the boat's ladder and flew to him. "Manga, I need some explosions over where you see my arm."
"You got it, Set!" Manga called out. Three-word bubbles appeared behind Koji, sending more villains flying away. Set strained her arms and legs and grabbed the 1-A student, lifting him out of the water. He was not very high, but she got him to the ladder.
Tenya was on the deck when one of the doors burst open, and out rushed two villains. One was short, only 5'5, but was covered in what could be described as pirate tattoos. He had wild black eyes, his heart was braided in a strange, nonsensical pattern, his long black beard hung to his navel, and there were three braids.
The second was taller, 5'9, with orange hair and red eyes; both were garbed in blue prison jumpsuits. Tenya went to move when the Orange hair blurred, and their shoulder blocked Tenya, sending him falling back. The canvas over the cargo hold tore open, and a strange-looking mutated Parrot rose into the sky. It was huge with a wingspan of 20 feet; a sickly call escaped its lips as it spotted Set and raced after her.
Manga had crossed the rail on deck when he saw Tenya get knocked back. He went to move to help when a loud thud caught his attention. He saw a cannon land on the deck next to the Pirate. "Avast, matey!" The cannon fired.
"Oh, Shit!" Manga exclaimed.CLANG!Word bubbles appeared in between them. The cannonball hit the word bubble, and it exploded, sending all of them toppling to the ground. Koda was nearly knocked off the ladder, barely able to hold on with one arm. He regained his balance and started to climb.
"Really!" Set cried out as the Parrot came at her.
"Eat the Girl! Squawk, Eat the Girl," it cried out.
"Listen, Petey, only one person will eat me; he isn't here right now!" Set yelled. As the Parrot closed its massive beak coming for her, she cut her floating and broke apart, letting gravity pull her out of the way. She did make sure to yank off some feathers as the villain flew by.
Tenya was on his feet and ran towards Blur. Tenya immediately went low and into a leg sweep when he saw the villain blur again. He felt the intense impact, but thankfully, Tenya's legs were the source of his quirk and were very strong. He saw the villain go tumbling past head overhead. Tenya spun to try and engage the villain; as the villain landed, he blurred again and speared Tenya in the chest, driving the wind out of the speedster.
Manga was on his feet when he saw an anchor tattoo disappearing from the Pirate, followed by a whistling sound. Manga looked and saw a giant anchor falling towards him. Manga gave a devilish smirk as theBOINGappeared overhead. The anchor and word bubble collided, and for a moment, it looked like the bubble would break. Then, the anchor was launched high into the air away. Manga's look of victory faltered as he hoped to launch the anchor overboard, but instead, it would crash into the boat. Manga created anotherBOINGto redirect it when a gunshot rang out. Manga screamed as a musket shot hit him in the shoulder and sent him spinning to the ground. His quirk faltered, and the anchor fell to the boat.
Koji was on the deck; he ran and tackled the Blur off of Tenya; as they wrestled on the ground, the villain could free its limbs and scramble back. Setsuna was racing overhead, trying to dodge Parrot, ripping out feathers and landing blows as it flew past.
Tenya managed to land a thrust kick to Blur's chest, sending the villain crashing into Pirate; Tenya raced to Manga quickly, trying to pull out first aid to treat the musket shot. Koji Koda looked at the Parrot, and his eyes went isn't a person with a quirk but an animal with a quirk! He thought.
Set and the Parrot were ready for another flyby the last time; it had managed to land a claw strike on her back, drawing blood. "I AM GOING TO PLUCK YOU BALD POLLY! IF THAT LEAVES A SCAR, MY BELOVED WILL BE SO UPSET," Set screamed when suddenly the Parrot wings shot out and pulled up on its attack.
Set wasn't about to stop when she heard Koda shout to not attack. The Set broke apart at the last second, avoiding contact. "I have it under my control!" Koda said.
Then, the anchor crashed into the ship and through it. Koda wobbled in place. Set saw the pirate stumble but stayed upright, and another cannon appeared aimed at Tenya and Manga. Set dived down. Manga was being tended to by Tenya when the anchor crash rocked the boat. Manga saw Blur disappear, charging at him and holding his shoulder.WOOP!A bubble appeared on the ground as he rolled to the side, trying not to scream in pain. Blur hit the bubble as it was lying horizontally on the ground. It popped, and it was like he had hit a grease streak. He rematerialized but couldn't stop as he flailed his arms, hit the rail, and nearly fell over.
The cannon was about to fire when the barrel was suddenly knocked up. Set's legs landed perfectly in the villain's chest, sending him stumbling back. Tenya was on his feet; he engaged his quirk, leaped, and landed a double-leg drop kick that sent Pirate flying back perfectly and the hole the anchor had made.
The boat shook and began to sink. "I can't fly us all out of here," Set said.
"But we can," Koda called out. The Parrot was flapping its wings behind him, doubling in the side.
"What the hell?" Set yelled.
"She is an animal with a quirk," Koda said. "I can control Animals! Ida, grab him and get on!"
Fire Zone
"Dodging cars hasn't been taught yet!" Neito yelled as they sought shelter.
"Second week, I think," Sato added as he had the Minotaur by the horns, who was rushed to try and impale him. He twisted to the side and sent the Minotaur to the ground. Before he could follow up, a flame shot came flying towards him. Yuga could shout a warning, allowing Sato to barely dodge.
"We need to handle that man with the giant sword," Rieko told Nieto. "Then we can focus on the giant. With our combined might, we may not be able to throw cars, but maybe we can trip her up."
"I will try to distract the horrible dressed man in tinfoil," Yuga said, breaking from cover, diving sideways, and firing off a great shot that sent Pyro sprawling.
"I wish I had copied Yui's quirk," Neito shouted as he used his copy of Reiko's quirk to knock the giant sword arching out of the sky off course; Reiko yanked the villain head towards the ground as another car sent them scattering.
Reiko struggled when the giant sword came arching down, nearly cleaving her arm off. She whirled as it was yanked free, and the Villain was right before her. He drove a long blade into her stomach. Reiko gasped as the man twisted the blade and pulled it free. "False heroes," he purred. "Baby false heroes, slaves to the system!" his voice rising.
Sato had the Minotaur by the horns again, but this time, the Villain used his muscled arms to slam down across Sato's forearms, breaking the grip. The Minotaur twisted its head quickly, Sato stumbled back, but the horns still tore across his chest, leaving a vicious gash and sending blood flying. Sato grabbed his chest, but the Villain wasn't done; he landed on the left and right haymakers, snapping Sato's head to the sides. The Minotaur charged, Sato got his arm up but couldn't grab the horn. It slipped to the side, tearing through into his forearm and up. Muscle and skin were torn and sliced, and Sato screamed as he fell; a strong kick landed from the Villain, breaking Sato's ribs.
Yuga heard the screams. He turned and saw Rieko and Sato go down, blood fly; his distraction cost him as Pyro landed a fire blast into his back, sending the Frenchman flying. Yuga yelled in pain as the heat was intense; realizing his cape was on fire, he unclasped it and threw it away. Yuga looked up and saw another flame shot come arching out of the sky towards him. He desperately dove away, narrowly managing to avoid the impact.
Neito felt his heart rate begin to quicken, watching his teammates go down. Panic started to set in, and without thinking, he yanked down on the Sword Villain weapon. The weapon came down with a thud as it severed the Villain's arm clean in the middle of the forearm, sending the Villain down and grabbing at his arm. He looked around the battlefield and made a mad dash towards Pyro. Neito ran like a man possessed; he stumbled to the side as a piece of the building came crashing near him. His hand hit the ground, but he kept his balance. Pyro tried to send a pillar of fire at him, but Yuga got a shot off that hit the Villain in the head, sending him flying back.
The Minotaur ignored everything else as he kicked at Sato, who did his best to cover up. Sato could feel the world going cold around him as blood poured like a faucet from her arm. Sato caught a kick and threw the Minotaur off balance, enabling them to get to one knee. Another attempt at a head slice came at Sato; he ducked under and, summoning all his strength, landed a powerful uppercut between the Villain's legs. A guttural whine escaped the Villain's lips; Sato bit his lips and landed another uppercut, exploding to his feet. He lifted the Villain off the ground, pulled him over his head, planting his head first into the ground with a loud crack. Sato stumbled to the side, falling as he fumbled for medical supplies to try and tourniquet his arm.
Reiko fell against the broken car, and after she kicked the Sword Villain in the head, until he stopped screaming. She turned and saw the giant reading another attack, Neito making a desperate dash towards Pyro. She summoned all her energy and pushed her quirk as far as possible. With a scream to the heavens, half of the Villain's hair was engulfed by the purple signature of Rieko's quirk. Reiko pulled, and the Villain was yanked backward, falling back onto and into a building.
Neito was almost to Pyro; he yanked the Villain's helmet off, and when he did, he was surprised to see someone not much older than himself. Red hair and freckles with green eyes. Neito yanked the Villain's head to the side, bouncing it off the building; a massive laser shot hit Pyro in the stomach, tearing a hole in the Villain's suit and into the Villain itself. Pyro fell to the ground, clutching his stomach; Neito didn't stop, he grabbed Pyro's head and drove his knee into the villain's face. Pyro fell to the ground; Neito touched the Villain's face, copying the quirk.
The Fire Giantess was returning to her feet; she felt a tug on her head again, but nothing like before; she didn't fall. Reiko slumped against the car, blood now coming from her ears, nose, and even from the edge of her left eye. She roared as she broke loose, ready to charge, and then all the fire in the zone suddenly rose into the air, including the fire from her hair. What could only be described as a Fire Tornado fell upon the Villain, her screams swallowed in the flame and wind. Neito stumbled but did now fall, as when the fire tornado dissipated, the giantess lay motionless, her skin blackened. He turned and ran back to his group, stumbling and falling a few times.
Yuga had made it to Sato and began to help try and bandage his classmate's arm; Sato looked at him, about to say something, when his eyes rolled back in his head, and Sato passed out. Rieko dug into her medical supplies as she was desperately working on the wound in her stomach when Neito got to her.
"I…" Neito started to say as tears fell; he fumbled, reaching for his medical supplies.
"You did what was necessary," Reiko said, her hand on his shoulder. "You did what was necessary."
Neito nodded and got to work, trying to remember all he could to help save Rieko.
Landslide Zone
The woman was striking, her most notable characteristic being her six arms. Her long, flowing white hair contrasts with her pale, almost ghostly complexion. Her face was partially obscured by a silver metallic mask that covers the upper half, leaving only her sharp, intense eyes visible. Like the others, she is dressed in a blue prison suit, but her body language conveys an air of danger and power. Her appearance is a captivating blend of beauty and intimidation, further amplified by her six arms, each wielding swords.
Ochaco stumbled to her feet and rushed the woman; a horizontal slash made Ochaco slide under to avoid being cleaved in two. Niren tried to get to his feet, but the wound in his leg sent him falling back to the ground. A sword was planted directly in her path, but she managed to stop before it did more than just leave a cut on her thigh. Ochaco looked up at the villain, who had a twisted smile on her face. "You have spirit, little hero," the woman said. "Unfortunately, that spirit will end here and now this day, but Spiral will remember how you died with honor."
Yui rolled to the side, got her feet under her, and dove to avoid the massive rock arms that came at her. She turned and ducked under one; she ran her hand across it, activating her quirk. It shook, but she couldn't avoid the other as it crashed into her chest, sending her flying. She tumbled head over heels and crashed into a rock, her vision dazed. She fell to the side, instinctually avoiding a follow-up attack from Rock Arms. She tried to get to her feet, but Rock's arms came at her with a clubbing blow; she got her arms up to defend herself, but she felt them break as she fell to the side. Yui slumped back against the Rock, blood seeping from a cut on her head. "Fuck you," she spat at the villain.
"Close your eyes, child, and be at peace," Rock Arms replied. "Your death will serve notice for others." The one still enlarged rock arm reared back; Yui bit back the tears but did not close her eyes. Suddenly a shadow fell over her as a large man made of Rock landed between her and blew, shielding her from the attack.
"I got you," Ejiro said, shrugging off the attack. "I will take care of this guy for you."
"Beat his ass," Yui whispered.
Eijiro turned, and the villain launched another attack, but Ejiro caught the fist. "Cute," Ejiro said as he charged the villain, lifting him up before driving him to the ground.
Spiral raised two blades as Ochaco tried to scramble away; Niren got to her feet and rushed blindly at Spiral. The villain smirked and sent two blades to intercept the desperate attack when green vines wrapped around her arms on that side and yanked them out of the way. Niren stumbled but dove and tackled the villain around her knee, making the villain buckle. Dark Shadow came tearing out from under and behind Spiral, lifting her into the air and throwing her away. Kyoka came running in to try to bandage Niren.
Fumi was supporting Ibarra, grimacing in pain, but her vines, still attached to the villain, yanked her down to increase the impact of Dark Shadow's throw. Spiral bounced off the ground, but the villain was formidable. She managed to get to her feet as Dark Shadow raced at her. She spun her blades around her protectively and lunged forward to impale her attacker. Her look of satisfaction faded quickly when the blade sunk into Dark Shadow and out the back of the but didn't halt his attack.
"Nice try," Dark Shadow said as he came in and speared her in the gut, driving her into a massive rock behind her and cracking it in two. Dark Shadow grabbed Spiral by the head and bounced it off the Rock till the villain stopped moving and sank to the floor.
Storm Zone
Tetsu blocked the right hook from Epic but took a left to the body that lifted him off his feet slightly, the clang from the impact echoing in his ears. He got his arm down to block the right to the body, stepped back, and landed a straight right that rocked Epic's head back; he stepped in and missed with a follow-up left. Epic went low and fired a rising uppercut that just missed the mark as Tetsu was able to move his head side. Tetsu grabbed Epic's arm, twisted, and threw the Villain over his head in a throw, but to his surprise, Epic twisted in midair, landed on his feet, and threw Tetsu into a wall.
Kosei rushed Water Ball; he was getting fed up with this constant attack and wanted to help his teammates. He could see Tetsu in his battle with Epic; Mezo was in a schoolyard brawl with Rat Man. Escaped prisoners or not, his quirk could deflect his Villain's attack; he grabbed a 2x4 off the ground as an equalizer and ran at the woman. Again, he deflected the villain's attack, and she jumped back out of his swing. She tried to lunge at him, but he sidestepped and brought the 2x4 crashing down across her back. She screamed, but it did not stop him; Kosei hit her again and again till the 2x4 broke. In a rage, he grabbed her by the head and bounced it off the pavement till he felt her go slack.
Mezo tried not to scream as teeth and claws tore into his body, tearing flesh. It was a mad fight as the two rolled around on the ground, attempting to land blows. Two fresh arms sprang forth, allowing Mezo to grab the Villain by the head and dig his thumbs into his eye sockets. Mezo twisted the thing head to the side, allowing him to gain a mounted position; he didn't care as the claws tore at his arms, trying to gain their freedom. He raised up and dropped an elbow across the side of Rat Man's head; again and again, he saw the Villain's head shoot forward in an attempt to bite him. Mezo dodged to the side, slipped two of his arms around the man's throat, maneuvered his head under the armpit, and twisted, choking the Villain into unconsciousness.
Tetsu blocked the sidekick from Epic as he pushed himself up to a standing position against the wall, using it for leverage. He barely got his head to the side when hard right whizzed past and left a hole in the wall. Tetsu lifted his knee in a low blow; Epic groaned and stumbled back, holding himself. He grabbed the villain's hair and introduced his knee to Epic's face. Epic took 3 shots before he could block; a gut shot got him free, and Epic stumbled back, blood pouring from his nose. Epic growled and charged again, only to crash into an unseen wall of air. Tetsu pushed off the wall and tackled the Villain to the ground, driving the wind out of him. Tetsu just began to punch everywhere, trying to do as much damage as possible. Epic covered up, trying to survive the onslaught. A hard hook slipped past and hit Epic on the temple, and his guard faltered. Tetsu felt a sudden rush of adrenaline, and seeing his opening landed 5 more blows, Epic's arms fell limply to the side.
Tetsu rolled off his opponent, breathing heavily as the rain washed the blood down the street. He saw Kosei helping to tend to Mezo, and with a groan, he was on his feet; he knew they had to get to the next zone. His friends may be in trouble as this fight is over, but another is just around the corner.
City Ruins
Itsuka quickly closed the distance with Glass Villain, her fists enlarging thanks to her quirk. She came in and fired a quick combination that had the Villain on his heels. She feigned another punch but leaped and landed a spinning back kick that sent the Villain tumbling.
Glass growled in annoyance. Itsuka tried to advance, but a hail of Glass came crashing towards her, forcing her to run and dive behind a broken car for cover. Glass was on his feet as Itsuka broke from cover and charged in again. The old man was agile, avoiding her strikes; just as Itsuka would land a blow, more shards would come at her, forcing her to fall back or seek cover. She was getting frustrated when she attacked again and landed a clean shot that sent Glass crashing into a wall. She thought it was finally her opening. She almost didn't see the attack till it was too late. Unable to get cover, she used her enlarged hand to protect her face as she charged Glass. Shards tore into her hand and across her body and legs; she stumbled but didn't stop.
Glass sent another wave at Itsuka; she yelled as more cuts appeared on her body. Itsuka grits her teeth and slams into the Villain, jamming him violently into the wall behind him. She grabbed his head with one hand, and the other she used to land body shots that lifted the old man off the ground. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw another hail of Glass come at her. At the last minute, she spun, putting Glass between her and the attack, using the Villain as a shield. She heard the Villain scream as the shards impacted; she fell back, dropping the Villain at her feet; looking across the battlefield, she saw Ojiro locked into a battle with Needlehead.
Needlehead jumped back, trying to maintain their distance from Ojiro; the tail user was forced to dive to the side as the Villain launched a hail of needles at him. The Villain's attack was constant as they fired from different angles targeting him all over his body. But thankfully, Ojiro could use his tail to help him dodge, use it as a counterbalance, and weave around most of the attacks. The ones that did hit made him hiss in pain. Ojiro doesn't stop forcing the Villain to retreat until the terrain causes the Villain to trip, giving him his opening.
Ojiro feigned a spin kick instead, bringing his tail into play; he was surprised when Needlehead used their quirk to create a makeshift shield that blocked the blow. Ojrio watched as the Villain's hair flashed into four large needles, forcing him to dive to the side. The Villain tried to create distance again, but Ojiro didn't let them; he rushed forward, saw the same attack coming, rocked back away from the attack, balanced on his tail, and launched him forward as the needles retracted.
Ojiro landed a drop kick that sent Needle's head down. The Villain desperately tried to attack with their quirk again, but Ojiro was ready. As he leaped over the attack, he twisted in mid-air and brought his tail crashing down on the extended needles; he was rewarded with a satisfying breaking sound as his tail broke through. It wasn't without pain as he heard a crack in his tail.
He landed and quickly used his training to land a one-two combination followed by a body shot that doubled the Villain. Ojiro knew it would be dangerous but grabbed the Villain in a muy Thai plum. He landed a knee strike when the Villain counter-attacked, and the needles tore across his hands, but Ojiro didn't let go; he landed another knee strike, then another, and when the Villain tried to attack again, he released his hold, throwing them off balance. Ojiro came in with a hard elbow across the jaw, one under the chin, and a final elbow sent the Villain crumbling to the ground. Ojiro spun towards where Momo was fighting Mustard as gunshots rang out in the smoke.
Momo Yaoyorozu crept through the alleyways, keeping her senses sharp. Mustard's voice echoed faintly through the alley, a sly and mocking tone in his words. "You can't hide from me, girl. I can smell your fear." His words cut through the air, making Momo's neck hair stand up. Her eyes narrowed, her mind racing through possible strategies. She could already feel the air thickening as the alley was filled with gas that the Villain had released. She knew she couldn't let him get the drop on her.
A faint cloud of greenish gas swirled through the alleyway, and Momo's instincts kicked in. With one quick motion, she then produced a small flare gun, aiming it toward the sky. The flare shot out with a sharp hiss, bright light illuminating the space as it burst into the air.
Mustard's silhouette appeared in the shadows, a smirk evident from the distance. He aimed his gun, ready to try and take Momo down, but she was quicker as her rifle came up; she fired a shot that hit just to the side of where Mustard was, sending Villain falling back as the shards from the wall hit against his mask.
Mustard let out a shriek as that was a real bullet Momo had fired at him. Momo reloaded, crouched, and fired again. This time, she hit Mustard in the thigh, and the Villain fell to the ground screaming. Thankfully for him, it was a rubber bullet. The Villain fired blindly towards Momo, forcing her to take cover. The area darkened again, and the flair died out.
"You bitch," Mustard yelled out, "What kind of hero are you training to be? You are nothing but a slave to the system. So blind that you can't even see the walls of your prison."
Momo didn't respond. Instead, she stood low and did her best to hide the glow from quirk as she greeted thermal imaging goggles. She slipped them on and activated them as she slowly moved from cover. A shot rang out over her head just as she reached her next cover point, telling her what she had expected that her opponent could see her. Momo peaked around the corner; she caught a glimpse of her opponent; she raised her rifle and fired a shot way off target.
"Not even close," Mustard called out. Momo braced as another shot hit the wall by her. She quickly broke from cover and ran to a new spot. She leaned out from behind the dumpster, and when Mustard tried to shoot her, she fired, sending him scrambling. Momo reloaded and advanced. She kept him in her sights, firing to prevent him from getting a shot off at her.
Mustard broke from his most recent set of cover in a manic as Momo fired a shot, hitting him square in the back and sending him sprawling, groaning in pain. She saw his gun fly; she ran, leaped over some rubbish, and placed the barrel of her rifle at the back of his head.
"Now, unless you want to see what a rubber bullet does at point-blank range to the back of your head, I will accept your surrender," Momo said.
"Shut..." Mustard began to say, but Momo reversed her grip and slammed the butt of the rifle into the back of his head, knocking him out. She grabbed him by the scruff of his collar and dragged him from the gas when she emerged, glad to see Itsuka and Ojiro standing, having defeated the other villains.
Momo removed the mask, "I will create cuffs; Ojiro, bind up the villains; Itsuka, come here and let me bandage those cuts." Ojiro grabbed the cuffs that fell from Momo and moved to secure their opponents. "Are you okay, Itsuka?" Momo whispered.
"Been better," Itsuka said as she looked at all the cuts. "Nothing too deep, but a few sting like hell."
"I will take care of you," Momo replied.
Underground
The flickering light of the burning villains' dances across the cave as Shoto stares at the scarred man. "What do you mean, our father?"
"Don't tell me you don't recognize your own dear brother?" the scarred man replied with a sneer. "But why would you remember a forgotten failure. You are, after all, the golden child. The perfect little weapon in his stupid little quest." Scarred spat.
Shoto stared at the twisted vestige for a moment; unless his father had some bastard out there, there was only one answer, an impossible answer, but only one. "Touya?"
"At one time, but Touya is dead; you can call me Dabi?" Dabi said as he looked past Shoto at Awase, Shihai, and Mineta. "Your little friends look scared, Shoto. Wondering how you know me."
"You, my oldest brother Touya, but you dead; you died," Shoto answered. "How is this possible?"
"My anger and hatred helped me to survive, little brother," Dabi said.
Shihai edged closer to Mineta and Awase. "I noticed you haven't used your fire? Why is that?"
"None of your business," Shoto spat out quickly. "I will never use his fire; I will only use the power of our mother's ice. What do you want?"
"What do I want?" Dabi said, sounding offended. "I want you little brother." Dabi's eyes gleamed. "You already see the truth and the monster he is; come with me to end him."
"You want me to help you kill Endeavor?" Shoto replied, watching Dabi as he began to pace like a caged animal.
"He deserves it!" Dabi spit out. "You know he does; all he does is take and take, and when you don't measure up, he casts you aside. Ignores you, leaves you for dead!"
"Why would I join you?" Shoto said coldly. "I have seen what you do, your allies."
"They weren't my allies," Dabi growled. "They were in my way. In my way of getting to you, little brother."
"Burning people alive for being in your way isn't what normal people do," Shoto said. "Those are the actions of a monster."
"A monster!" Dabi says, his hands twitching as the blue flames flicker at his fingertips. "You think you are so different? That you are not as damaged deep inside. Look at you, cold, unfeeling, nearly doing the same to your allies. You cling to this hero nonsense he has fed you, still walking his path."
"I walk my own path!" Shoto yelled.
"Do you? Are you not striving to be the next number one hero? Do you think it will matter to him if you bring your fire to bear? You will still do his bidding? Shoto Todoroki, the next number one hero, the son of Endeavor."
Shoto froze, "You are a fly trapped in his web, and you don't even realize it." Dabi said as he continued to pace. "They are all caught in his web; come with me and be set free! We will expose Endeavor, bring him to his knees, and let him bear the weight of his abject failure. He will burn to ash before us. Come with me, little brother, and be free."
Shoto stared at Dabi; it was true he hated his father; he despised the man. Yet here he was, in the U.A., the hero course. Training to take his place as the next number one, just as Endeavor wanted. Yes, he wouldn't use his fire, but in the end, Endeavor would get what he wanted. His son would dethrone All-Might.
"We will burn the house of Endeavor to the ground," Dabi said, extending his hand to Shoto. "We will burn it to ash, and those who sat back and watched it happen will burn with him."
Shoto felt his hand twitch as if about to reach out, but then he froze. "Those who watched?"
"Fuyumi and Natsuo are complicit in his lies, in the weaving of his web," Dabi's eyes gleamed with anger, and the fire around his fingers was not steady. "We will make sure our whore of mother burns alongside him."
Shoto fist clenched, Dabi was a monster, Endeavor was a monster, but Shoto wasn't. "You would burn them all?"
"Yes, they must all suffer!" Dabi cried out.
"No!" Shoto growled. "I will not let you touch them. I will not let you come near them. I will not be a monster who is swayed by your evil. I will not stand by as you dare to threaten them!"
"Oh shit," Awase muttered. Shihai grabbed Mineta and Awase, pushed his quirk, and they dropped into the shadows.
"Then BURN!' Dabi roared as blue flames raced towards Shoto.
Shoto unleashed all the ice he could, and the two forces collided, with primal elements raging against each other, but the two forces couldn't overcome the other. The atoms in the air were supercooled by Shoto, only to be superheated by Dabi extremely quickly; all that energy had to go somewhere. The room exploded!
Shoto felt something tapping his cheek. His eyes snapped open, and he was staring at the dome of the USJ; he sat up, knocking Mineta off his feet. "Where is Dabi?"
"That psycho?" Awase responded. "Buried in the cave, just like you almost were if it wasn't for Shihai."
Shoto looked and saw Shihai panting and leaning against a tree. "Never tried to teleport so many people or go so fast."
Shoto looked back and saw the entrance to the cave collapsed; he wondered if his brother had been trapped or even killed by the rubble. Something in the pit of his stomach told him that it wasn't the case that they would see each other again. As his mind raced, the sounds of battle nearby pulled their attention.
Flooded City
Izuku yanked the Squid Villain to him; he pulled a gathering of the villain's tentacles to his beak and tore through them like a hot knife through butter; the villain screamed under the water. Izuku grabbed the villain around the head with a power expulsion of water and shot himself and the villain up and out of the water. Izuku turned and twisted his body and sent the villain flying onto a rooftop before he crashed back into the water.
The whale was distracted by the impressive feat, allowing Tsu to land a kick to the villain's eye, blinding it and sending it dashing away. "Go help Juzo and that pink girl!" Izuku said. Tsu watched as he changed forms again. This time, he turned into a shark, not just any shark, but Megladon. Tsu kicked her powerful legs, heading towards the surface; she burst from the water, grabbed a ledge of one of the buildings, and hoisted herself out of the water. Izuku dived after the Whale Villain, who screamed in terror.
Juzo dove left as Mina went low, and the two Hammerheads flew out, trying to take a chunk out of two hero students. Mina raised her hand and ran it across the number one's belly, burning the creature's skin with acid; before it could hit the water, Tsu came leaping in with a powerful drop kick, sending it off course and tumbling across the deck. Juzo ran, dived shoved the villain's head into the ground, rolled over, and activated his quirk. The villain's head sunk into the concrete; Juzo waited until its head was past the neckline before shutting down his quirk.
Mina ran and tackled Tsu out of the way as the second one made landfall and tried to take a chunk out of the frog girl. Mina swiped her hand back and let her acid fly, striking the villain in the face and snout. The villain fell back in pain; it let forth a gutter growl as it charged at the girls. Mina rolled to the left, but Tsu sprang forward low and took out the villain's feet, sending it skidding. Juzo again activated his quirk to trap the second villain.
Izuku's massive jaw sank into the villain's side, but he didn't bite through; the villain screamed. "I GIVE UP, I GIVE UP!"
"Then you stay here," Izuku commanded. "If you try anything, I will come back here and eat you, and just so you know, I am hungry." Izuku swam up and came bursting out of the water; he could hear the shout from his teammates, so he shifted from back to a Quetzalcoatlus and landed on the rooftop.
"Come with me if you want to live," Izuku called out in a thick Austrian accent.
"Did you kill him?" Tsu said as they climbed on his back.
"No, I did bite him though, and threaten to eat him," Izuku responded as he took the air with a massive beat of his wings.
"Aren't you a vegetarian?" Juzo said.
"Yea, but he doesn't know that," Izuku replied.
The Plaza
Vlad King got his guard up to deflect the blow of one of the villains as Aizawa came from around him and landed a combination on the villain, knocking them to the ground. Vlad stumbled back, trying to catch his breath; he felt lightheaded from all his blood expenditure during the fight. He knew that he would be down if it wasn't for Aizawa's quirk and having him to protect his back.
One thing that 98% of heroes and most villains never knew what to do was how to fight when their quirk had been negated. So much of their combat strategy and how they attacked was integrated into using their quirk. It suddenly being taken away would leave them at a loss, at a minimum, completely off balance. Of course, Mutation quirks were unaffected for the most part, so when the battle began, those were the ones they had targeted first, leaving those struggling for later.
If these had been simple street thugs, then Vlad was sure they would be in combat with the Monster and Shigaraki by now. But these were hardened criminals; once those who had been negated felt their quirk return, they were quick to launch their attacks, not caring if they hit someone by accident. It left Aizawa having to re-engage his quirk and then try to surge under those who had demonstrated a troublesome quirk.
Vlad tried his best not to think of the students scattered around the USJ; they were just in their first week of training. Depending on whether the villains had scattered them with a purpose or just on a whim could determine if the students even had a chance.
"We need to end this," Aizawa said behind him as they were now getting closer to the leaders of this attack.
Vlad took a deep breath, "On my six." Vlad pumped his quirk and raced forward, heading for the leaders; he felt his breath hitch when he saw Shigaraki smile.
"Enough of this. Nomu, kill them!" Shigaraki commanded.
Vlad could barely track the beast as it blurred from Shigaraki's side as it came in for the attack. "Eraser move!" Vlad yelled as he shaped the blood around his left arm into a shield to try and deflect the blow.
Aizawa quickly sidestepped to the left but kept moving forward, he felt the wind rush past him to his right and saw the Nomu suddenly there delivering a straight right that, even though Vlad had raised a shield, sent his fellow homeroom teacher flying back. Aizawa leaped forward, firing his capture scarf midair as he engaged his quirk on the Shigaraki. Suddenly, he was snatched by the hair and hurled away by the Nomu. Aizawa bounced across the ground, trying to reach his feet, when the Nomu attempted to crush him into a paste. Thankfully for him, Vlad was there to intercept the attack, but Aizawa heard Vlad's arm break as the shield shattered, and he was sent flying into the wall. Aizawa activated his quirk on the Nomu, but the creature didn't seem to notice, or if it did, it didn't care.
The Nomu grabbed Aizawa by the head, slammed it into the ground, dragged Aizawa by the face, and then hurled him like a bullet into the wall next to Vlad. Blood had exploded from Aizawa's mouth at the impact; by sheer instinct, he moved his head to the side. As Nomu had been about to put its fist through his head, Vlad fired off as hard of a shot as he could with his unbroken arm, hoping to knock the Nomu away. Vlad saw and felt his punch hit. He saw the area of impact ripple, but then nothing happened. Vlad fell onto his back to avoid a wild backhand from the creature that he was sure would have taken his head clean off. Vlad tried to move as a massive double-handed smash came crashing down upon him.
CLANG!
The word bubble suddenly appeared between the Nomu's attack and Vlad; the Nomu's attack struck the bubble. The sound of the blow reverberated across the battlefield; it was the first time that Manga had ever seen something nearly break through his quirk in such a manner; nearly. What did happen was they saw all the bones in the Nomu's arms break upon impacting the word bubble.
Set did her best not to throw up as she came swooping down, grabbing Aizawa and pulling him to the doors; Tenya hit the ground, fired his quirk, and held Vlad, trying to pull him to his feet. Poly swooped in; its massive talons tore into the Nomu's shoulders, and with massive beats of its wings, it yanked the creature into the air.
Set looked and saw the Nomu's arms regenerating at a terrifying pace, "Koji, drop it! It is regenerating!" she screamed.
Koji did as he was told, ordering Polly to drop the Nomu and get to the doors where the other students were. The remaining villains in the plaza had been thrown into disarray when the Nomu attacked, coupled with the vicious counterattack by the teachers rushing towards the doors. Sen fired his quirk, sending them flying away, and then an energy blast sent him diving for cover.
The Nomu landed, its massive legs tensed, and launched towards the doors only to be speared out of the air by Eijiro and Dark Shadow. Kyoka took Aizawa from Setsuna so she could go to try and help Tenya get Vlad King; with Pony's aid, they brought him over near the door to try and do what they could to wound the teacher's head. Thankfully, Thirteen was still on her feet and gave them instructions.
Eijiro, Dark Shadow, and the Nomu crashed to the ground; the Nomu grabbed Eijiro and tossed him aside. Dark Shadow tried to attack the Nomu but to no avail. When Dark Shadow attempted to rush and grab the Nomu, it was swallowed by a portal and cut off. Fumi fell to his knees at the sensation.
Some of the villains turned and rushed towards Tenya, who was struggling with Vlad King; Tsu came diving out of the air, landing a huge dropkick that broke the villain's bones upon impact. The screech from Izuku caught the other villains' attention as acid rained down upon their faces courtesy of Mina. They banked through the air and got Juzo to the stairs, where he immediately softened the area at the base to slow the villain's assault.
The Nomu turned to rush Eijiro, only to be encased in a wave of ice as Shoto joined the fray. Shihai appeared with Sero at the doors, dropping him off to receive care before he dropped back into the Shadow to get Vlad King out of there, freeing Tenya and Tsu to fight. Jurota and Denki came rushing in and attacked the flank of the villains going after the two.
More and More students began to flood into the area, joining the group on the stairs as they launched counterattacks, much to the surprise of the convicts. Shigaraki sneered in disgust.
The Nomu tore from its icy prison, leaving its limbs behind, and regenerated to the horror of all who witnessed it. It charged towards Shoto, only for Mineta to spring from cover and fire his orbs, tangling the creature's feet and sending it crashing down. Awase dashed out, bonding it to the ground, hoping that would keep it from being able to generate enough leverage to tear itself free.
The Nomu fall into a portal and appear before Eijiro, landing a hard punch that cracks his chest and sends him stumbling back; Shigaraki is now attacking Shoto, who can barely dodge the villain's attack. Mineta and Awase were swallowed by yet another portal and dropped into the middle of the Villains attacking the students.
Tenya and his group of Tsu, Jurota, and Denki fought for every inch as they made their way towards their class. When it looked like they were about to be swarmed suddenly, only a green bull elephant came crashing out of the sky in the middle of their attackers. "OPERATION DUMBO DROP!" Izuku yelled as he crashed into the villains. Izuku was up and on his feet, thrashing his head side to side, using his massive tusks to send villains flying through the air.
Eijiro saw the follow-up attack from the Nomu coming, moved to his right, planted his feet, and poured all he could into an uppercut, pushing past his usual limits and trying to stop this monster. It landed, and he felt joy before it did anything to the Nomu. The Nomu brought its arm down across his forearm, nearly breaking it. Eijiro stumbled back; when the Nomu was about to land, another hit, Dark Shadow, appeared, hoisted the creature by its armpits, and threw it back.
Shoto was on his heels as Shigaraki approached him; Shihai suddenly sprang from Shigaraki's shadow, grabbed the villain's legs, and tripped him. Shoto went to slam his hand on the ground to trap him, but a portal opened under it as his hand was about to impact. Shihai sprang out of the portal, tackling Shoto away as it snapped shut; they fell into Shoto's Shadow and teleported away.
Set dropped into where Awase and Mineta desperately tried to get them free. But there were too many, and they started to swarm them under; the eruption of flashbangs all around them deafened them but gave them the opening to break free. Ojiro and Itsuka came leaping up and over, landing in the circle and grabbing the boys. Setsuna saw green vines around their waists as Ibarra yanked them out. Set tried to follow them up and out when an energy net materialized over her, driving her down. She tried to break apart to break free, but the holes in the net shank kept her pinned.
She tried to break free as the net began to shock her. Tetsu was there suddenly with Momo, and she saw him reach down, grit his teeth, grab the net, and yank it away. Momo was at his back with a staff, fending off villains as he yanked her to her feet.
Set stumbled, and he caught her, "Are you alright?"
Villains screamed as concrete barriers and 55-gallon metal drums rained down upon them courtesy of Neito.
"Yea, just need one second," Set was saying when Tetsu suddenly dived to side with her and Momo as Eijiro and Dark Shadow came flying where they were standing, crashing into the base of the platform where doors were; they broke through the concrete wall leaving a hole behind. The Nomu was hot on their heels. They saw it pivot and rush towards them. They tried to move to safety, but it was coming too fast.
Izuku saw Tenya's group get to the doors; he turned, sending another with a scoop and lifting, another villain cartwheeling through the air. He turned the main force and saw Itsuka and Ojiro being pulled out by Ibarra, and then he saw Set get trapped by the net. He began to run towards her when Momo and Tetsu got to her first. He witnessed Tetsu free her, and Set fell into his arms. Even amid battle, he felt the sudden pang in his chest; thinking back to when they were packing the lunches, he had guessed as much. He saw them dive to the side to avoid Eijiro and Dark Shadow, and then the Nomu was charging toward them.
Izuku thought he shouted NO, but a roar was heard as the Nomu was intercepted by Triceratops and sent crashing off to the side. Set thought they were done for when the roar erupted, and Nomu was sent crashing away. She watched as the Nomu rolled and got to its feet; the Triceratops blurred, and there it was. Standing between her and Nomu was T-Rex, in her favorite shade of green.
"What the fuck?" Shigaraki said, stunned. "Kurogiri, drop me on top of that thing!" Shigaraki dropped into a portal. His sadistic smile was cut short when, as he emerged, the "BOING!" appeared underneath him, launching him back into the portal closing, nearly cutting something off.
Kurogiri saw it and kept the portal open to not hurt Shigaraki when he screamed as suddenly the mist surrounding him was yanked away, and dozens of "Boom!" word bubbles appeared around him and exploded.
"Fuck you," Nieto said, falling to a knee.
Shigaraki flew out of the portal high into the air, the explosions knocking him off course; he was upside down when a giant green parrot grabbed him by the leg, banked left, and threw him away.
The Nomu turned to rush to save Shigaraki when a massive jaw came crashing down around the monster. Izuku lifted the creature into the air, and with an enormous shake of his powerful jaws, the lower half of the Nome went one way and the top half another. The upper half began to regenerate as it flew through the air; Izuku leaped after it and pinned it to the ground with his massive foot. Izuku was shocked that it still grabbed his foot and lifted him off even as it regenerated.
Izuku looked at the Nomu, his friends, and, most importantly, Set. Izuku roared, bent down, and tore the Nomu's head from its body. He crunched his massive jaws several times before letting the shreds fall to the floor. Set stared at Izuku in wonder and awe, watching as he stomped over, taking a protective stance over her, Momo, and Tetsu but over her. The remaining villains were frozen, as were many of the students. Izuku lowered himself and let loose a roar that sent a shiver through Set's body that would warm her coldest nights for the rest of her life.
The remaining villains took an involuntary step back, and Izuku stomped forward and roared again. The villains raised their hands into the air in surrender. As they surrendered, All-Might came leaping in through the dome and landed; the faculty and security came flooding in from where the doors were.
Shigaraki had crashed into the edge of the forest, stumbling out at a branch through his shoulder, "ALL-MIGHT!" he spat. Shigaraki's eyes went wide seeing the headless Nomu. His scream of frustration was cut off, and a Kurogiri dropped them both through a portal, escaping before the Mist villain passed out.
All-Might looked around, seeing Eijiro and Dark Shadow emerge from the hole, and saw some type of creature torn in half, partially regenerated but missing a head. He watched as Izuku, still as a T-Rex, stared menacingly at the Villains as the staff took them into custody; once it seemed like they were safe, he took a few steps, shimmered, returning to normal size, and fell to one knee.
"Izuku, are you okay?" Setsuna said, rushing to his side.
Izuku nodded as he sat on his butt, pulling an energy bar from his pouch and tearing it open, taking a big bite. "Tired," Izuku managed to say. "Are you alright, Setsuna?" Izuku's head drooped some as he took another bite.
"Tired, sore, but I am alright," Set said softly, smiling at him.
"I am probably going to pass out, but I have to tell you something," Izuku said, lifting his head; he tried to smile for Setsuna, though his heart felt like a rock in his chest. "I shouldn't, but I have to tell you."
"What is it, Izuku?" Set said, squatting down before him.
"I know who stole your heart," Izuku said; Setsuna's eyes widened. "I am sure that Tetsu will make you very happy."
"Tetsu?" Setsuna said, confused.
"I am not trying to get in the way, but the girl who stole my breath away…was you," Izuku said. "I just had to tell you, I am sorry." Izuku looked into Setsuna's eyes, which were slick with tears, and had a weak smile on his lips. "I…hope…you…two…are…happy." Izuku managed to say. His eyes rolled back in his head, and he toppled over. Set caught him in her arms.
"You idiot, it is you," Setsuna said, cradling him. "It is you. From the moment I saw you, it was you."
