Shouta really hates being right.

It wasn't often but there were a few times he wished he could just be wrong about something, that the world could just not be as shitty of a place he thought it was.

That maybe the lack of parents intervening in Shinsou's various school punishments wasn't a sign of neglect like he was sure it was, that his parents might somehow be better than he thought they were.

But no, Shouta had to be right and was even there to fucking see it too.

Shouta was only there to answer the call because he had just finished up with Amajiki and Hado's training session for the day.

It wasn't uncommon for there to be calls to the staff from the parents or guardians in the weeks before the start of the year, and with the new dorms for the students to move into there was a larger number of calls.

Shouta thought it was just going to be another call from one of the parents, maybe a moving company canceled on them, and they needed to update them about the change so their kid's stuff wouldn't be turned away.

It could happen.

For Shouta and his luck though? Not a chance in hell.

"Hello, you've reached Yuei Academy, this is Aizawa you're speaking to how can I help you?" Shouta rattled off as he was instructed to, much to his displeasure since he didn't want to speak with anyone right now and just go home for the day.

"Hello, this is Shinsou Tsuru, my son Shinsou Hitoshi took the entrance exam a couple weeks ago." the woman on the other end said.

Shouta knowing that he could not be seen allowed himself to scowl darkly and squeezed his knee to the point it would likely bruise.

"Yes, he was one of the students who applied for both the hero course and the general education course, and according to our records he is confirmed to be attending here come April." Shouta replied using his training to keep his voice calm and level as he pulled up the file for Shinsou.

The confirmation was made the same day the letters would have arrived and the details for Shinsou were provided by his third listed emergency contact, an older brother Atsushi.

Interesting how neither of his parents had done so but a sibling.

"Yes, that's actually what I'm calling about," Tsuru told him "I think there might have been a mistake in Hitoshi's enrollment." she further explained.

The phone Shouta was holding creaked a little, his grip threating to crack the phone's body, a largely venomous feeling welling up in Shouta's very core.

This woman had better not try to pull Shinsou from the hero course, or worse from U.A.

Shouta would not fucking stand for this woman trying to pull the same crap his parents tried to pull when he was transferred to the hero course.

To try and go behind Shinsou's back and rip away his opportunity with no way to fight back.

"Oh? According to our files Shinsou Hitoshi passed and is to be enrolled into the hero course, is that not what the acceptance letter sent to you said?" Shouta subtlety but pointedly questioned faking an air of nonchalance.

"No, no that's what the letter said, but are you sure there wasn't some kind of... mistake?" Tsuru asked back, avoiding saying what Shouta knew she was implying out loud.

Are you sure that wasn't a mistake in my son being in the hero course?

Like someone like Shinsou couldn't be in the hero course.

That someone like Shinsou could never be a hero because of his quirk.

Shouta held the phone away from him to take a very deep breath to do something to cool his boiling blood.

He wouldn't be able to play nice if he didn't take a moment.

"I'm afraid I'll need you to clarify Shinsou-San, what kind of mistake do you think may have occurred?" Shouta inquired somehow keeping calm.

Tsuru hemmed and hawed before she finally saying.

"Could you um, just double-check whether or not Hitoshi was actually supposed to be in General Education instead?"

"Well, Shinsou-San I can in fact confirm that Shinsou had passed the hero course exam with flying colors, his homeroom teacher has expressed to the whole staff about his excitement to begin teaching your son." Shouta answered a touch vindictively.

Perhaps it was an exaggeration to say Midoriya had done that but Midoriya was genuinely happy that Shinsou would be in his class and had spoken to the others about the possible problems Shinsou could have given his previous schooling records.

"I can appreciate your worries as a parent for your son to be crushed if there was in fact a mistake, but I can personally assure you that Shinsou Hitoshi's enrollment in the hero course is no mistake." Shouta further told her knowing that he could rub her face in her bullshit without being offensive at it.

"Right, thank you for confirming that for me." Tsuru replied a bit stilted.

"You should take a lot of pride having raised such strong kind-hearted boy Shinsou-San, all of the staff have very high hopes for Shinsou's future as a hero and have no doubts that he will go very far in heroics." Shouta said throwing extra salt in the wound, knowing that it would absolutely make her uncomfortable.

"O-of course, thank you for your time Aizawa-San." Tsuru sputtered back before she hurriedly hung up.

"Two-faced, back-handed bitch." Shouta spat under his breath as he slammed the phone back on the receiver.

He'd make a note of Shinsou's mother calling later when he cooled off and instead made his way to his new apartment to take a shower, probably a cold one to take his mind off of the damn call.

Which helped somewhat, the icy cold water being an excellent shock to his body and once he cleaned himself off, he decided he should continue unpacking his new apartment.

He put off unpacking most of his stuff that he wouldn't use daily.

There was also the stuff he bought that he needed to replace since basically half of the stuff in his old apartment with Hizashi was in fact owned and bought by Hizashi and now in Hizashi's new apartment.

New stuff that hadn't been unpacked just yet either since he had enough jelly-packets to eat before his lack of silverware would be a problem.

Shouta made some headway on putting together his new coffee table and decided to slump on the couch after he got too fed up with the instructions being too damn vague about which type of screw it meant.

God he'd kill for a cup of coffee right now...

Or some whiskey damn it, hangover tomorrow be damned.

He just had to deal with a bitchy, and likely quirkist, woman that reminded him too much of his own parents.

Hell, it wouldn't surprise him if Shinsou's quirk name 'Brainwashing' was actually chosen by either of the boy's parents and not by some doctor.

Fucking bastards setting up their own son for being called a villain for the rest of his life and bullied with a quirk name like that.

A knock on his door pulled Shouta away from his internal ranting.

Shouta couldn't recall that either Hizashi or Nemuri supposed to come by today so that could mean one of a few things.

One, someone from the All For One case came by for something, it's happened before sometimes since moving.

Two, one of the now second years or third years could have a question, likely not since he couldn't think of anyone outside of Miyake's friend group who'd come to him now.

Or three and the most likely, Nezu, the rat bastard saw he took the call from Shinsou Tsuru on the security cameras and sent someone to check on him.

So, Shouta stood and moved to the door to see who was there, the person on the other side would tell him right away which of his three theories were correct.

And upon seeing Isamu standing on the other side and with a couple of tupperware boxes in hand knew which one it was.

Option number three.

Shouta sighed and leaned against the doorframe, crossing his arms.

"So, the rat bastard told you about the call I got from Shinsou's mother a couple hours ago?" Shouta guessed, a bit miffed from how Nezu was interfering.

"Maybe... but Hizashi also told me he was sure you had been living off your jelly pouches since moving in." Isamu countered.

Shouta pinched the bridge of his nose.

"I don't know who the biggest snitch is between those two." Shouta grumbled.

"Would telling you I have spring rolls make you feel better?" Isamu inquired holding up the tupperware.

Shouta scowled back at him.

"Did you make dipping sauce?" Shouta questioned back.

"Yep, extra spicy and with garlic." Isamu answered with a nod and a smile.

Shouta glared at him for a moment longer.

"... It's a start." Shouta eventually confessed turning around and moved so Isamu could come into his apartment, slumping on his couch while Isamu entered and took in his half moved in living room.

"Hm, I think the floor might be more comfortable given the state of your coffee table." Isamu pointed out, physically pointing to his coffee table project.

And given it was short a leg and upside-down Shouta had to agree with him and moved to sit on the floor with his back propped against his couch.

Isamu sitting right next to him and began to open up the boxes of tupperware.

Passing Shouta a box of spring rolls and a container of still warm sauce to dip them in, the smell making his mouth water and sending a tingle through his body.

The first bite of course being crunchy and just right enough Shouta had to let his head fall back after he swallowed.

Why did Isamu have to be so good at cooking?

He could get way too used to eating this every day, and Shouta knew damn well he wouldn't have half the patience to make anything nearly as good as this.

"Considering you thought I was here about a phone call, I think it would be safe to say that Shinsou's mother brought up some old wounds didn't it." Isamu guessed opening up a dumpling from his own tupperware box.

Well fuck Isamu for interrupting Shouta's food coma before he could actually settle into it.

He grumbled but turned to Isamu.

"Congratulations on getting it in one. Do you want a cookie?" Shouta sarcastically asked.

Isamu huffed "I remember the last time you and Hizashi made cookies Sho, and I would rather not eat another puck thank you very much." Isamu told him before chuckling, Shouta hit him on the shoulder.

Isamu was right of course, but he didn't need to rub it in Shouta's face.

A comfortable silence falling over the two of them, letting Shouta polish off half of the spring rolls.

"I understand if you don't want to talk to me about it, but you'll talk with someone about the call, right?" Isamu asked softly.

Shouta took a deep breath.

He could tell Isamu he would, he would be talking with Nezu and Midoriya about what Shinsou's mother had said.

But he knew damn well that wasn't what Isamu meant by talking about.

So, it really was on him whether or not he wanted to be honest.

"Maybe... if I ever find the time to see someone." Shouta confessed after a few more minutes of thought.

Isamu sighed but didn't press the issue.

"One day Sho, I know that Nezu is going to force you into a therapist's office and Ryo won't let you run out of it, even if he has to break your legs." Isamu told him.

Shouta scoffed, letting his head fall onto Isamu's shoulder.

"Probably, but I figure I have a couple more years before the rat decides to lock me up." Shouta commented.

"With how you're going about things, I'm thinking more like six months." Isamu told him.

Shouta glared back at Isamu.

"Don't fucking tempt the universe like that, you know damn well it hates me." Shouta said back.

Isamu, the cheeky bastard, merely smiled back at him.
