With school over Takato took Davis' advice and went to where the art club was supposed to be to find out that they had a canceled meeting because the teacher was sick, but was told who the precedent was so that he could talk to them about joining. As Takato was leaving he ended up running into someone again and to make matters worse it was Yolei.
"Oh come on, is my luck just that bad." Takato thought to himself.
"Okay, this time I'm going to…." Yolei shouted.
"Yolei you can't blame the guy you were the one run in the hall this time." a boy said coming up the stairs. "Plus it looks like you made him drop his papers.
The boy had short brown hair that looked to be a bowl cut, he also looked to be at least a year younger than Yolei. Takato soon realized that a few of his digimon and friends got missed in with the landscape drawing he was going to show the club. He quickly tried to get the ones of his former digimon partner.
"Wow, you're a pretty good artist." the boy said hand Takato one of he's landscape drawings.
"Thanks." Takato said, taking the picture and making sure none of the digimon ones were left. "Well I better get home, so see later."
"Hey wait you forgot one." Yolei shouted. "Cody you can go on ahead well I try to catch up to that boy."
"Ok, just don't take too long." Cody said walking away.
Yolei ran down the stairs to the shoe lookers to see Takato getting on he's board and leaving the school grounds. Yolei tried to get his attention but it was too late. Takato was too far gone.
"Oh man guess I'll have to give it back to him tomorrow." Yolei said looking at the paper.
As Yolei looked at the drawing her eyes went wide with surprise. She ran after the boy needing to tell the other immediately what she found on the new kid.
"Hey Cody where's Yolei?" Davis asked.
"She ran into the new kid and made him drop some drawings." Cody explained. I helped him pick most of them but as he was leaving forgot one. So Yolei is trying to give it back and make peace with him."
"I hope she cuts Takato some slack, he's had it rough." Davis said.
"What do you mean?" a boy with blond wearing a white hat asked from behind Cody.
"Hey T.K. you're just in time, now we just need Yolei." Kari said.
"Cool, but what did you mean when you said the new kids had it rough." T.K. asked.
"Well you know how he moved here from Shinjuku, well I heard from some friends on the soccer team that a whole lot of buildings and damage happened not that long ago." Davis said. "It seems their house might have been hit and he's parents might have thought that they would be safer if they move here to start their business over."
"Wow, that's so sad." Kari said. "He must have had to leave all his friends."
"Hey you guy you'll never guess what I found." Yolei shouted coming through the door.
"Hey I thought you were going to give that back to the new kid." Cody said pointing to the paper Yolei was holding.
"I tried to but he was already off the school ground and I can't run after someone who's on a skateboard till they stopped. People will think I'm crazy." Yolei explained. "But that's not important right now, look at what that kid drew."
Everyone looked at the drawing Yolei held out and were amazed by it. The drawing was of a girl with red hair in a spiky ponytail wearing a heart t-shirt and jeans, holding what looked like a digivice. Next to the girl stud a yellow fox that was on its hind legs wearing purple gloves with the yin-yang symbol.
"Is that a digimon?" Davis asked.
"I've never seen a digimon like that before." T.K. said.
"Maybe one of the digimon has seen it before, we were going to the digital world anyway." Davis suggested.
"Maybe?" Cody said.
"Well we aren't going to get any answer standing around here." Davis said going over to the computer. "Digi port open."
Everyone followed Davis through the portal and arrived in the jungle where they first met Veemon. Not soon after their digimon came it to view happy as ever to see their partners.
"Hey guys how's it going." Davis said, shaking Veemon's hand. "And has Ken arrived yet?"
"We've been pretty good." Veemon answered. "But sorry Ken hasn't shown up."
"Oh yay that right I completely forgot that Ken sent me a message telling me that he wouldn't be able to make it so he was going to take Wormmon home with him." Yolei said.
"Guess that answers one of our questions." T.K. said. "Now do you think you guys could help us with something."
"Sure help if we can." Patamon said leaving T.K. arms.
Yolei took the picture out of her pocket and showed it to the digimon and asked, "Have any of you seen a digimon like this before."
As the digimon looked at the drawing of the fox and girl and shook their heads in denial until Veemon looked away as if afraid.
"Hey Veemon you know something don't you." Davis said looking past everyone to his partner.
"I don't know what you're talking about Davis, why would I know something about Renamon." Veemon said before covering his mouth.
Everyone's attention turned towards Veemon instantly knowing that he was lying.
"So this digimon a Renamon, what else do you know." Gatomon asked.
Veemon sighed knowing full well that there was no getting out of this one and asked, "Where did you get the picture from."
"A new kid at school called Takato had it with him, but he forgot to pick it up before leaving." Cody said.
"Alright I guess I'll explain, you guys know how the digital world is run by Azulongmon right." Veemon explained.
"We know that." Yolei said. "How does that help us figure out who this Renamon is."
"If you gave me a moment to explain I would." Veemon barked. "Look the digital is in fact divided into four separate quadrants, each have a Sovereign ruling it, and it just so happens that the digimon you're looking for lives in the quadrant run by Zhuqiaomon."
"So if this digimon is in this other quadrant, how come you know about her?" Hawkmon asked.
Veemon stared off into the distance then answered, "Because I'm from that quadrant as well and before you ask I have no intention of going back there."
