Digital world (Quadrant 2)
When Davis came to the rest of the Tamers were already up and looking through what they had with them. And Veemon and Gatomon were laying next to him still out cold.
"Alright it looks like this time around I was able to keep the bread with me." Takato said, looking through one of his bags. "And my other bag has a mini computer plus my phone, two blankets, my extra clothes and my extra cards. What about you guys?."
"I've got a sleeping bag, a small tent that can fit two people, a battery powered lamp, a spare battery and some extra clothes." Rika explained. "Plus my phone."
Henry took out a blue blanket then said, "I've got a blanket, a set of extra clothes, my laptop, cellphone, some canned food and a can opener. What about you Jeri?"
"Well I had a flashlight but it broke during our fall." Jeri said, taking a flashlight with a broken lens. "But I have an extra set of clothes, a sleeping bag, and a small tent that two people can use."
"Is this that normal for you." Davis said getting up and as he did Veemon and Gatomon started regain consciousness.
"The last time we came you for a small digimon call Calumon and we ended up losing most of our stuff we came with in the fall." Takato said, taking his D-Arc out. "This time we'd like to evade having to deal with the digimon at times. Renamon should be close by, Rika you got a signal."
"Checking now." Rika answered looking at the compass on her D-Arc. "Looks like she's that way."
"You have a function that allows you to find your digimon!" Davis said, making Veemon stay where he was. "I wish our D-3's did that."
"Okay we got our direction, now let's get going." Takato said, picking he's bag up. "The soon we find Renamon the better off will be."
"What about the other digimon?" Gatomon asked. "Can't we find the others with yours."
"Guilmon's out of range." Takato answered, holding up he's D-Arc. "Plus if I know Guilmon he's probably with Terriermon or Calumon. Something also tells me Renamon will know where the others are."
"If Guilmon with Terriremon then most likely I'll find Lopmon with them too and they're out of range as well." Henry said, putting his D-Arc away.
"Alright let's go find Renamon." Rika said walking away following her compass.
Everyone soon followed with Davis having to drag Veemon somewhat. As they walked Davis started looking around more and saw that the place looked like a waste land for miles.
"Before you ask no the whole digital world isn't like this." Henry said looking back at Davis. "Digital world has different layers to it here, we're on the first layer of the digital world. As we go deeper you'll see different types of environments that the digimon live in."
"If that's true, why is Renamon here than and not in some forest or place with life?" Davis questioned.
"I wish I knew." Henry replied.
Digital world (Quadrant 1)
"It looks like they have entered the Quadrant successfully and are making their way to one of their digimon." Azulongmon explained as he's eyes stopped glowing.
"I wish we could do more for them." Tai said.
"You might not be able to help them but this might be the best time to explain the rest of the difference between you and the Tamers." Gennia said. "I also have got more information about the enemy you're facing."
"Like the fact that they can use cards to make their digimon stronger or faster or even use moves that try couldn't be for." Kari said. "I had Takato tell me more about it before they left."
"Por digits they can make their digimon powerful with the help cards." Izzy said. "I wonder if there's a way for us to do that."
"Let me stop you right there." Gennia said. "It's not possible, the powers they have as Tamers comes from Zhuqiaomon like yours comes from Azulongmon. Remember when you had to give up your crest at one point."
"Yay you said it was so the digital world could be protected from evil digimon like the dark masters." Sora answered.
"Yes you basically also returned the power to Azulongmon for it was with his help that the crests were created." Gennia said.
"That still doesn't explain why It shouldn't be possible for us to use the same powers they have." Tai said.
"It's because two Sovereigns can't give their power to the same person." Gennia explained. "You know how I said in Zhuqiaomon's quadrant there were beings called the diginome that will at times grant a wish. They look in to a human child's mind and see what there great desire is, if they think a digimon can help them then they are given a blue card to swipe that will content them to a digimon that fits them."
"But that still doesn't help us understand." Izzy said.
"A desire for more of something right." Tai guessed.
"That's correct." Gennai agreed.
"What do you mean Tai?" Matt asked.
"Yay, help us out here." Sora agreed.
"We all have a crest made for us, that was from our most powerful trait." Tai explained. "My crest is courage, Matt's is friendship, Sora's is love, and so on. But the Tamers they got their power to digivolve from a desire to be strong or other emotion, right."
"You would be right." Gennai said. "Each one of the Tamers derided something more with all their heart to the point it was like shouting to the Diginome."
"Oh I see now the reason we can't have the same power as them is because Azulongmon cares for a balance to light and darkness while Zquiaomon believes that power is everything." Izzy explained.
"That's right." Gennai agreed. "Azulongmon & Zquiaomon powers clash with each other."
"From what Takato and I talked about he said that their feelings can affect their digimon in ways that are hard to imagine." Tai explained taking a seat on the rock. "So I'm guessing that since the Tamers' feelings affect their digimon, bad things could happen."
"You are correct about that as well Tai." Gennai explained leaning against a nearby tree. "You see for them, if they have too much of an emotion it could have so very bad side effects. One time Takato used his anger to make he's digimon digivolve to the mega level, but it became corrupted like how Greymon became Skullgrymon, Takato's digimon Guilmon became Megidramon. He almost lost his friend and too this day I don't think he's forgiven himself for it."
"So that's what it was." Tai said.
"What was what?" Kari asked.
"When we met Takato I felt like me and him had been through the same time of ordeal. Truth be told there are still times when I feel guilty about what happened with Agumon." Tai explained. "I guess we have more in common then I thought."
Digital world (Quadrant 2)
"Hey Rika why don't we take a break for a while?" Takato suggested.
Rika looked at him angrily but then saw that Jeri & Davis were tired, even Henry looked like he was about to collapse.
"It's starting to get dark out, we can continue the search when dawn breaks." Takato said. "That sound fair."
"Okay." Rika agreed, putting her D-Arc on her belt.
They set up camp with Takato making one of the tents while Davis made the other. Rika and Jeri tried to find something to burn, thankfully Henry was able to find sticks they could light instead of something from one of their bags. When they were done they sat around the fire and ate.
"Hey Takato I've been meaning to ask you why do you have two bags?" Davis questioned. "I know we could be here awhile but do you really need a whole bag of bread."
"It's because Guilmon is a glutton so we need to make sure we have enough for him and ourselves." Rika said.
Davis looked at the Tamers then asked, "I was told that you guys choose to be tamers but what did that mean?"
The Tamers looked at each other then Takato answered, "I guess you could say we all had a chance to forget about the blue cards and leave it alone but none of us did. From me I got my D-Arc one day. I wanted a digimon of my own so I drew a ton of pictures of Guilmon and swiped all the papers about him through the D-Arc. Next thing I know he came to life, it was later I found out the diginome helped create him for me. The day I got the D-Arc I could have placed the blue card in my card box and never looked back but it felt like if I did I wasn't going to get another chance."
"Man, so you created your own digimon." Davis said. "What about the rest of you."
"For me I was given a digimon game for my computer as a gift from my Dad. The digimon I chose to play with was Terrirmon and as I was playing the game he digivolved but couldn't couldn't control the power completely yet. Once the battle was over he got badly injured and I wanted to do something, anything really, the next moment one of my cards became blue. As I held the card I felt like if I used it I could help Terrirrmon but there would be no turning back. I didn't care about the risk so I used the card and Terriermon came out of the computer and into my arms as my card swiper became a D-Arc."
"Man, I never thought a digimon wouldn't be able to control their power." Davis said.
"What about you two?" Gatomon asked eyeing Rika and Jeri.
Rika looked at Gatomon then answered, "I had just won a digimon card tournament and was looking through my deck at home when I heard a voice the next moment a type of screen appeared in front of me with several digimon all claiming that they were the strongest and wanted me to help make them stronger. They all started arguing about who should partner with me until a lone figure walked closer to the screen making the others quiet down, she told me that she was the best but knew she wasn't the strongest and wanted me to help her reach new heights of her screens then disappeared and I found a blue card among my other cards. Something in me told me that if I used it I could have what I really wanted, so I swiped the card and gained a digivice. The D-Arc then had the word wish on the screen and I wished for Renamon to be my partner and she appeared in front of me in a flash of light."
"My story isn't as big as theirs are." Jeri explained. "At first I met my partner Leomon, I thought it was my destiny but I had yet to prove myself worthy of a partner like him. After a battle with a digimon that wanted to do harm in the real world Leomon was injured badly protecting me. At that moment I didn't care if he was my partner or not. I just wanted to help him no matter the risk, a D-Arc then appeared in front of me. I hesitated at first to take hold of it knowing that my life would be put in danger, but the thought of someone being hurt because of me and having a way to save them. I threw my fears to the wind and took the D-Arc, Leo then became my true partner."
"So you four really did have a choice about if you wanted a digimon or not somewhat." Davis said as Takato handed him a bread roll.
"Yep, and I don't think we regret it for a single moment." Takato said.
"Not me." Henry agreed.
"I wouldn't trade it for anything." Jeri said.
"That greatest thing to happen to me was Renamon, like I'd regret that." Rika said.
"And you are the greatest thing to happen to me Rika." a voice said.
Everyone then looked towards the dark at where the voice came from. Rika then held up her D-Arc to see the arrow pointing right behind her. She got up and turned around to meet a yellow fox standing on two legs wearing purple gloves.
"It's good to see you again Renamon." Rika said, hugging Renamon while a few tears fell from her eyes.
"It's good to see you too Rika." Renamon said, hugging Rika back.
