When morning came the girls awoke to the smell of fresh bread.
"Got to admit I love the smell of bread and before you say anything, I do mean the bread." Rika said, getting up out of bed.
"Okay." Jeri said, rolling her eyes, not believing Rika one bit.
Once they had changed their clothes, they went downstairs to get some breakfast. When they got downstairs, they saw that Mrs. Matsuki was setting the table while Mr. was sitting at the table reading the newspaper.
"Good morning girls, did you sleep well?" Mrs. Matsuki asked.
"A bit different but It was fine." Rika said, taking a seat. "I guess Takato's still asleep with the rest of the guys."
"Not quite, Takato for once got up and is making bread for us to sell for the day." Mrs. Matsuki answered. "His father tried to make something earlier, but it burned so he's forbidden from cooking for a while till he takes better care of setting a timer."
Mr. Matsuki hid behind the paper knowing the girls were staring at him.
"I guess Takato might be taking over the bakery when he gets older." Jeri said, taking a seat next to Rika.
"If he keeps this up, he just might." Mrs. Matsuki said, offering the girls some bread that was made earlier. "Truth be told, I think he woke up thinking that the digimon coming back was a dream."
"I can relate to that." A voice said.
They turned towards the voice to see Henry standing in the doorway with Lopmon on his head.
"Hey Henry, how was your night?" Jeri asked.
"And what do you mean you can relate to gogglehead?" Rika questioned.
"Fine." Henry answered. "And truth be told I woke up three times thinking that I'd find myself back in my room at home and all this was a dream. But our digimon really are back."
"Hopefully, it stays that way." Rika said, taking another roll. "Also, you might want to get a roll while you can. I'm sure once Dino-boy wakes up he'll eat them all."
Henry then quickly took a roll out of the bowl while Lopmon came down from Henry's head to the ground. As Henry gave Lopmon a roll Takato came into the dining room with a stack of pancakes and bacon.
"I thought I'd try my hand at making more food for everyone." Takato said putting the plate in the center of the table.
"Now we're talking." Rika said, putting some pancakes on her plate. "Pass the syrup."
Henry pasted Rika the syrup while he placed some bacon on his plate. Jeri took another roll then added pancakes to her plate. As the humans ate their food the Digimon soon joined them to eat. Rika convinced Renamon to sit down next to her and helped her make a plate while Henry shared his food with Terriermon and Lopmon. Takato gave Guilmon his own plate of giant pancakes that took up the whole plate but told him not to drown them in syrup. When everyone was done eating, Takato cleaned the dishes while the girls went upstairs to change clothes. The Matsuki's went to open the store and Henry went back to the room they were using and called his parents to reassure them that he had Lopmon for Suzie.
"Alright boys, I think we've been keeping the others waiting long enough." Rika said, coming back down the stairs wearing her usual clothes.
"Yeah, we should probably get to the meeting place before we're late." Jeri agreed following Rika.
"Okay, I've called my parents and they told me that Suzie, Kenta, and Kazu should be here later." Henry said, zipping up his vest.
"And I just finished helping my parents with the store, plus Guilmon's full so we're good to go." Takato said coming into the room now wearing is goggles.
"Gotta, say you having those on really feels right." Jeri said.
"You said it." Terrerermon agreed, jumping onto his tamer's head.
"The Tamers are back and ready for battle." Takota said as they made their way to the park.
Once the Tamers Group got to the meeting place, they saw that the Digidestined were waiting for them.
"What's up guys?" Davis asked. "Have a good night's sleep?"
"With our partners back we all slept like logs." Takato answered. "So, while we wait for the rest of the crew, do you guys want to learn about each other?"
"Sounds cool to me." Davis said. "You guys?"
"I'm fine with it, I've got some questions I'm hoping to have answered." Izzy said.
"It'll be nice to learn more about other Digimon and their humans." Patamon said coming out of T.K. bag.
The Tamers then sat down at the table with the other humans while some of the Digimon played around the empty park with the others watching for humans coming closer.
"So, who wants to start?" Takato asked.
"How about I ask the first question." Matt said. "Davis told a bit about how you guys got your Digimon but I'm wondering if you could tell us a bit more."
The Tamers looked at each other then shrugged their shoulders as Takato asked, "What do you mean by tell you more."
"Oh, I only told them that each of you had a chance to make a decision yourself about a Digimon." Davis explained.
The Tamers then explained about each of them getting a Digimon partner and how they connected to their partner.
"Wait, what do you mean apart of you?" Joe asked. "Like you can feel each other's pain."
"Yes, and we can even combine with our Digimon to become mage level Digimon." Henry said.
"Wait a minute, you're saying that you can merge with your Digimon." Izzy quickly questioned.
"Yep, all three of us can." Takato answered.
"That's so cool!" Davis said. "For us our Digimon, they DNA digivolve with each other."
"Not bad. Sounds pretty cool to me." Takato said.
"Hey, do guys have abilities like they do?" Guilmon asked, having walked over to them without being noticed.
The Digidestined looked at Guilmon then the tamers wondering what he meant.
"What are you talking about? Humans don't gain abilities just because they gain a Digimon." Patmon said landing on T.K. head.
"But Rika's able to hear Renamon's thoughts, Henry, if he concentrates, can know what's going on around him, while Takato's able to have visions in his dreams." Guilmon explained.'
Takato immediately covered Guilmons mouth then said, "thanks to our connection to our Digimon we gain more than just partners."
"Wait, you mean you can hear your digimon's thoughts?" Kari questioned.
Rika nodded her head then sent a message to Renamon to come to them real quick.
"Did you need something Rika?" Renamon said, coming out of thin air.
"No, not really just proving a point." Rika answered.
"Okay I'll say it, you guys have some cool stuff." Tai said as the rest of the Digimon came over.
"I can agree with that." Kair agreed, wishing she could have an ability like that.
"Good, you're all here." A voice said.
They all turned their heads to see Yamaki with the rest of the Tamers and their Digimon.
"Henry, you really brought Lopmon back." Suzie said, hugging Lopmon as tears filled her eyes.
Henry smiled then rubbed Suzie's head and said, "I made a promise, and I knew I had to keep it."
"I'm glad to have you back, Lopmon, I've missed you so much." Suzie whimpered.
"I've missed you too Suzie." Lopmon said, returning the embrace.
"Thanks a lot man for getting them back." Kazu said, shaking Takato's hand.
"No problem." Takato said back. "I know you would have jumped into the portal the first chance you got."
"Now all that's left is to wait for the man in a robe." Yamaki said as they got closer.
"You won't have to wait long." Another voice said as a figure came out of the shadows.
"Gennai!" the Digidestined said in unison.
"Now let's talk about the coming darkness." Gennai quickly said.
