Late one night as Ugin and I were resting, I cuddled up on his chest, and he was laying on his back meditating. Ugin moved slightly, grunting a bit.

"What's wrong?" I asked sleepily, his movement having woken me up.

"Sorry my little one I did not mean to wake you, but it seems that we have some guests."

"Who?" I asked.

"Planeswalkers, and acquaintances of mine."

"I see, what do you think that they want?"

"I am not sure, but I guess that we will find out, but stay close to me."

I nodded, and snuggled closer to his chest, wrapping my arms around him to give him a gentle squeeze.

I could sense who the Planeswalkers were. I had met them in the past. There were three of them Jace Belerin, Nissa Ravine, and Chandra Nalaar. I sent one of my Sions to meet them and ask them what they wanted. When I got the answer, I was none too pleased by it. It seemed that they had been to Serenity's home, and the very people that tormented her now wanted her back. I knew that there was no way that was going to happen. Jace claimed that they had evidence from the king, and his counsel, and Sera's tormenter that she was being held by me and that they were asked to get her back. I knew what I was going to say, but I had no idea what I was going to tell Sera. I knew that she was going to suffer if I told her, but I did not want to find out from Jace, or the others either.

In the end I decided that I had to tell her before Jace and the others got here. I just had to prepare to comfort her in whatever way that I could. I prepared myself to tell her.

Ugin shook me a few moments later. I raised my head up to look at him and his eyes looked worried.

"What is it?" I asked, feeling scared for the first time.

Ugin sighed. "These planeswalkers are here for you."

"Me?"

"Yes, they want to take you back home. They think that I kidnapped you."

I began to shake in terror. "What, why?" I asked, tears welling up in my eyes.

Ugin gently pushed me down upon his chest with one hand, "shhh it's alright there is no way that they are taking you back there."

I nodded, sniffing and snuggling against his chest. I did not want to see these people, but I also knew it would spell more trouble for Ugin, if he made them leave so I let them come.

Ugin asked that I try to remain calm as I can and he could help by holding me close to him. I agreed, and lay with my head as close to his heart as I possibly could so I could at least try to stay calm.

A few moments later Ugin's scion led the three planeswalkers into our home.

One was a man with facial stubble, the first woman was an elf with druidac markings, and the third was a human who had flaming red hair. I did not move from where I was. I had no intention of leaving Ugins' side.

The man who introduced himself to me as Jace spoke to me. "You are Serenity right?"

I nodded, but did not say anything.

"Thank goodness we found you safe," the elf named Nissa said. "We have come to take you home to your family where you belong."

I said nothing and buried my face into Ugins chest.

I could feel someone prying into my head. I tried to block him, but he was strong mentally. I was afraid that he would unlock the door to my past that I had hoped to keep closed forever.

"Ugin!" I cried mentally. I felt Ugin's mental magic take hold protecting me from the mind mage. He looked frustrated, but gave up.

The fiery woman named Chandra spoke: "Come on with us, your family misses you and loves you. You need to come home."

I shook my head snuggling into the ugins chest. I had no intention of letting him go.

"Why do you presume that she needs to return home?" Ugin asked.

"We spoke to the king of Arkos and he said that she is loved as well as missed. He said that she was traumatized by the death of a close family member, and that she was so upset that she must have accidentally lit her spark."

"But he said to tell her that the family loves and misses her and they ask that you return her in short order," Chandra finished, interrupting Jace.

With that the fire mage started forward toward Ugin. I tensed up more than I already was and Ugin took a breath putting his hand over me.

"What makes you think that she wants to go back to that place?" Ugin asked. "No one has asked her anything."

"We don't need to," Chandra stated firmly. "We already know that you have manipulated her into staying here. I mean your Bolas's twin afterall It makes sense that you would pull a stunt like this."

Ugin sucked in his breath hard and I began to stroke his scales one to comfort him, and two to ease my own hurt, and fear.

For the first time I spoke: "Ugin is not doing anything to me. I am here of my own free will. I chose to stay with him. I don't want to go back to that horrible place. They lied to you."

I kept speaking, and my words began to run together as did fresh tears. Ugin gently stroked my face with his finger.

"It's alright shhhhhhh."

I could not stop crying though. Sobs racked me and I buried my face in Ugin's chest.

"Please don't make me go back," I whispered.

Ugin now covered me with a hand as well as gently wrapping his wings around us.

"You see?" Ugin asked the three people, his tone very angry. "She does not want to go back there, and yet you are forcing this on her. Can you not see the harm you are causing?"

Jace spoke: "I am sorry that last bit was uncalled for, Chandra," he said looking at the pyromancer, who merely shrugged, "but it is your word against a king who based on what I could tell is a good man."

I sniffed, and managed to say weakly. "They are lying to you. The king and his council are cruel, they were deceiving you."

"Can you tell us what is going on?" Nissa asked. "We need to know the truth."

I winced, I knew what they were asking of me, but I was not sure I could do it, showing Ugin had been hard enough, but now I had to show it to strangers as well.

"You don't know what you are asking of her," Ugin said softly, still stroking my face with his finger.

Jace stood firm. "We need the truth, not from you, but from her."

Ugin spoke into my mind. "Sera, I am so sorry," he said.

"I said, "I will do it, but I feel sick."

"I know, are you really okay?"

"No," I said softly, "but I will do it as long as you are here with me. Please don't leave me."

In answer Ugin took a deep breath, his chest rising and falling in a steady comforting rhythm.

"It's going to be okay Sera, I am right here."

"I took a moment to steady my breathing matching Ugins and then spoke. "You want to see the truth? Well, here you are."

Then I let Jace into my memories, opening the door that I wanted to keep closed forever one more time.

Sera slipped into a dream state to show her memories to Jace.

I was seething inside. I hated them for forcing her to do this, but proud that she was willing to do so for my sake. I would be there for her when she woke and I was sure that she would need it from me.

I showed Jace Belerin everything, the truth of everything. I felt everything and it hurt even more than when I had shown Ugin. I knew that when this was over there was going to be a lot of tears, and Ugin holding.

I let the mind mage see it all. When it was over, I regained consciousness from the dream state. I was shaking and Ugin pulled me closer to him if that was even possible.

I sobbed into his chest, and stroked his scales hoping to find comfort.

Jace rocked back on his feet. "You saw it all, did you not see the pain that those people caused her?" Ugin demanded.

"Yes," Jace replied softly.

"How do you know that it was real?" Chandra awked.

Jace turned to her. "The visions came from Serenity herself and it was raw, and pure there was no magic influence behind it. The horrors that she showed me were very real, and true."

"Good, I am glad that you are satisfied," Ugin said. "Now please leave. I want to take care of Serenity."

We will head outside then, and talk," Jace said, nodding to the two women.

With that, they all left our lair.

I lay there completely spent. I had no more tears to shed, and I just felt empty.

Ugin spoke: "are you alright? Sera, please talk to me."

I looked up at him. "Perhaps they are right, perhaps I do need to go back."

"What?" Ugin asked, his tone shocked, and a bit hurt.

"I don't deserve you, perhaps it was my fate for things to end this way." I felt hollow numb. I did not want to fight anymore.

Ugin had other thoughts though. "No, I will not let you give up. I know that you are hurting, and I understand, but I will not let you give up hope."

I sighed. "If I dont go back, Master is just going to come here, and I don't want to think about what will happen then."

"If that happens we will deal with it together. I am not going to let him rule us. Please Sera, I love you. My wish is to protect you from everything that will cause you pain."

I just sighed, and closed my eyes. My heart was hurting.

There was no way I was going to let Sera give up. I had not been able to protect her from Jace, and the others, but I would be damned that I would let anyone cause her more pain. I knew that Sera was saying these things out of fear, and pain, and I knew that she needed me to help her.

I made a decision then.

"Come on, we are going somewhere."

With that, I got up gently carrying her and flew outside leaving three startled planeswalkers behind.

I flew to one of my favorite spots, a canyon wall that overlooked the now setting sun. Serenity had not moved, but I knew that she was aware.

"Look out there Serenity. Please talk to me."
