I opened my eyes, and as they focused I looked around. My head still hurt a lot and the wounds on my neck still burned as well.

"Ugin," I managed to choke out, still in pain.

Ugin gently reached his finger down, and began to stroke my cheek. "I'm here Sera, I am here, you should not be awake yet, your wounds are still healing."

"How long have I been out?"

"Just a few minutes, those wounds still need time to heal."

I tried to nod, but only ended up making myself dizzy. I lay my head back down on Ugins chest. "Ugh."

"It's alright Sera, I am here. My healing spells will help you feel better soon."

I closed my eyes, and tried to relax.

I indeed could feel Ugins healing magic, so I knew that I would heal.

Ugin spoke to me again. "I just want you to know how proud I am of you. You not only saved me as well as the other dragons, and you managed to send most of the other demons to the spirit world once again."

"I did? I am glad that I was able to heal you. I saw them hurting you, and I … I was…"

I choked up, feeling tears pricking my eyes. I could not stand the thought of Ugin being hurt.

"I am fine," Ugin said, assuring me. "Thanks to you."

I closed my eyes again.

"Master is dead. I saw the demons attack him."

Ugin sucked in his breath. "No he is not dead. He is more like Undead. He disappeared like a spirit, or even a lich. If I had to guess, he has a phylactery hidden somewhere."

"I see," I murmured weakly. "So he is not dead?

"No, but after what you were able to do. I don't think that he will dare come back here again."

"And if he does we will be here to deal with him," Sarkhan said, as he stepped into the lair. "Ugin," he added. "Things are calming down quite a bit. Dromoka, and Ojutai are just cleaning up the few demon stragglers that did not quite want to return to the spirit world."

"That is good," Ugin said. "Are there any injuries?"

"No, most of the dragons as well as their riders were healed by Serenity's song magic so there was not a lot of damage done."

Ugin nodded and gently patted me.

Sarkhan nodded. "I will head out then with Jace, and the others," he said.

Ugin nodded and said: "good fortune. Let me know if anything changes."

Sarkhan nodded, and took off leaving us alone.

Once everyone had gone, and the lair was quiet, Ugin sighed, and gently pressed me closer to his heart. "How are you feeling? Is the pain going away?"

"Yes," I nodded. "I feel a bit better. What is going to happen now?"

"As far as I am concerned, nothing," Ugin replied. "You are safe with me, and your master cannot get to you. The other dragons and I will protect you no matter what."

"But what if…?"

Ugin gently interrupted: "shhh there is nothing for you to worry about if he comes back we will also protect you. You are the child of Tarkir, and my treasure, not to mention my daughter so no matter what happens we will be together."

I nodded, and closed my eyes, and began to fall asleep reassured by Ugin's words. He was so confident that at least for the time being everything was fine, and no matter what I had Ugin as well as the other dragons. We had each other, I had my family, and I had Ugin. No matter what happened we had each other. With those comforting thoughts I snuggled against his chest feeling his warmth, and hearing Ugins' strong heartbeat, and fell into a deep healing sleep.
