The next few days continued without incident. Ugin still seemed ill at ease while we worked on magic, and other lessons.

At night he clung tightly to me holding me as tightly as he dared. I wished that he would tell me what was wrong, but he obviously did not want to worry me and I knew not to push too much. The best thing that I could do was be there for him the best way that I knew how.

One afternoon during our lesson. Ugin stopped mid sentence as a hole as black as night cast a shadow on the otherwise bright sun.

When I looked up I saw an iridescent black dragon glaring down at us.

"Ugin I will kill you this time and I will make certain of it.'

I looked at Serenity.

"Stay here I will deal with him."

Before she could say anything I took off to meet my twin. I could not dare bring Sera with me just in case the nightmare came true. Sera called after me. "Ugin!" Her voice was terrified. I spoke into her mind: "it's alright. Stay there." and flew toward my brother.

When I reached him I said: "How are you alive brother?"

He replied: "It does not matter, I am going to kill you, and continue right where I left off the multiverse will be mine."

With that, my twin lunged toward me which I doged, and moved to the side.

"Ugin stand still so that I can kill you." I ignored him, and kept flying.

Suddenly Nicol leapt at me, and grabbed me, his claws punchering my chest, and pushing me toward the ground. I crashed on my back Nicol's weight pressing down on my chest blood began to flow freely, from the claw marks on my chest as well. Nicol smiled an evil smile.

"Now for the last time, Ugin Die!" He raised his left hand up to strike me down with a final blow.

I watched in horror as this fight took place in the sky. I watched as The black dragon slammed Ugin to the ground, slashing his chest with his claws. I had to do something. There was no way that I was going to allow Ugin to die. I knew that I was close enough to heal his wounds so with that thought I began to sing to heal him as well as cast a protect spell to keep that dragon from hurting him further.

I heard Serenity's voice pure but frightened nearby. I instantly felt the claw wounds on my chest begin to heal. Nicol's hand came down to claw out my heart only to find a protective barrier over me. He hit it so hard his hand flew off. He jumped back allowing me to begin to rise.

"What sorcery is this?" He demanded.

Then he saw Serenity singing her heart out to save me.

"Ah I see this is the one that she wants. Perhaps it would be more fun for you to watch her suffer before you die."

With that, Nicol began to move toward Serenity menacingly.

"No!" I roared knowing what was going to happen. I desperately flew toward them, but I knew that I would not make it in time to save her. My nightmare was coming true.

"No please, no!" I begged.

The one thing that I did notice was that Nicols scales as well as bones were falling apart as he moved toward her healing magic destroying his body as he moved toward her. When he reached her he hit her with a bony right hand knocking her to the ground.

"Well now what do we have here? A pest, and now you are mine."

With that, Nicol reached out his hand and touched her on the forehead to shatter her mind, and there was nothing that I could do to stop it.

When the dragon's hand touched me I felt pain in my head. It hurt like the worst headache that I had ever had. But there was more to it. I had visions of death, decay, and total oblivion, and nothingness. I reeled in pain, but then I saw something else in my head. It was visions Of Ugin, and I watching the stars Sitting together watching the sunset, and me snuggling against his heart.

These visions slowly took over the dark ones from The black dragon. I focused on the visions of Ugin, and the pain began to ebb. I opened up my eyes, and looked around. How is this possible? The black dragon roared. I dared to look up at him. At this point his body was barely held together by a few bones. My healing magic had destroyed most of his body.

By now Ugin had reached us, and blasted the black dragon with ghost fire, careful not to hit me. The black dragon roared in rage, and prepared to teleport away, but he left me with a parting gift. He used what remained with his arm, striking me, tossing me like a ragdoll down a rocky hill that was quite steep.

I rolled along the ground, and felt my bad leg get stuck, and then a horrid breaking sound, followed by pain. I did not have time to react to my leg pain though. The next thing that I knew I hit something with my head hard, and everything went black.

I watched in horror when Nicol touched her, but my heart filled with hope, and relief as Sera was somehow able to fight his mind shatter off. I had not protected her so this was something that she did on her own, and I was happy for that, but when he struck her, and sent her flying I felt sick. I knew that she was going to be hurt. I had to get to her. Nicol or at least what remained of him, planes walked away in the same black hole that he came in.

I rushed to the fallen Serenity, and immediately knew that she was hurt pretty badly, far worse than when her master had tried to take her back. She lay there with her bad leg twisted at an awkward angle, The brace that she wore was ripped with some of the wood poking into her leg. There were cuts, and bruises everywhere that I could see. Her head had hit some rocks, and they had knocked her out, and I could see a bit of blood mixing in with her silver hair.

Very gently I picked her up to get her home. I also summoned Sarkhan, and Narset. They needed to know what was going on, but Narset could stitch up her wounds as well as repair her brace. When I reached our lair I hurried inside.

I lay down to wait for them. Gently laying Serenity on my chest I hoped that she could hear my heartbeat. I began to cast healing spells so that she would not be in nearly as much pain when she woke up.

"Serenity It's going to be alright please hold on a bit longer, help is on the way. I am here, and you're going to be alright." I truly hoped that she could hear me.

I could feel Ugins healing spells take hold. I tried to open up my eyes, but Ugin whispered to me.

"It's alright I am here, try not to move. You need to rest, Sarkhan, and Narset are on their way to help you, but I am here now. It's okay you're safe with me."

"Ugin," I choked out, "what happened?"

"Don't worry about that right now I want you to heal. It's okay he is not going to come back anytime soon, you really did a number on him, and since he is a dracolich now he will need a lot of time to recover dont worry about him."

At that I jumped. "Ugin are you…."

"Shhhhhhhhh it's okay I am fine you just need to rest."

He gently stroked my cheek with a claw trying to calm me down. I just could not stop shaking.

"Please calm yourself, it's alright I am fine. I am going to cast a spell to put you to sleep. You need to heal."

With that Ugin, cast the spell to make me sleep.

I tried to fight his magic. I was so scared.

"Ugin," I just kept whispering.

"Shhh, it's alright I am here." He kept stroking me and holding me close to him with his other hand.

Finally, my shaking slowly stopped, and I finally gave into Ugin's spell that made me go to sleep so that I could heal.
