"FUSE…!" snarled Silver Swan, glaring at her adopted brother with a mixture of anger and disappointment.

"Havoc."

"DON'T CALL ME THAT!" roared Silver Swan. "THAT'S NOT WHO I AM ANYMORE!"

"AND I'M NOT FUSE ANYMORE EITHER! I'M OBSIDIAN NOW!"

"You're a traitor!" spat Silver Swan. "You abandoned me and The Hood to work for our enemies!"

"No, unlike you, my eyes were opened," Obsidian said. "I realised the error of my ways and turned over a new leaf. I only wish you could have done the same as well, sis."

Silver Swan gritted her teeth. "The Hood is missing. If neither of you will help me find him, then GET OUT OF MY WAY!" She tried to take off, but Obsidian grabbed one of her legs and pulled her back down.

"No, you don't!" Obsidian said, slamming her into the sand.

Swan kicked free, picked herself up quickly and then lunged at him. She jumped up and tried to knock him off his feet but he managed to remain upright.

Kayo, who by now had also picked herself up, watched on unsure what to do. John then came over her helmet radio. "Kayo, you there? What's your situation?"

"Somewhat awkward now, John," she replied. "Obsidian has returned and now he and Swan are fighting it out on the beach."

"A battle between siblings?" John said. "I can't imagine this is gonna end well."

"I agree," said Kayo. "However I don't know whether to intervene or not."

"Swan needs to be brought to justice for what she's done," said John. "If I was in your boots, Kayo, I'd be helping Obsidian bring her down."

Kayo nodded. "F-A-B," she said. She took a step forward as Obsidian managed one of his shockwave punches that knocked Silver Swan away onto the sand again. "Hey, Clarence," she said. "Need a hand?"

"Hi, Kayo. Thanks, but I've got this," said Obsidian. "My sister is my responsibility. You get yourself to safety." He then began to run towards his sister.

Swan grabbed a handful of sand and threw it over Obsidian's helmet, temporarily obstructing his view. She then swung both legs and managed to trip him up. "Waaaaaaaaaa-HEEEEEY!" Obsidian yelled as he landed front-first onto the sand.

Silver Swan then jumped on top, using two of her winged blades that she forced into the ground in an attempt to stop him from getting up again. "YOU SHOULD BE HELPING ME, NOT FIGHTING ME!" she yelled.

"YOU THINK I WANT TO FIGHT YOU, SIS?!" Obsidian yelled back. "YOU'RE NOT GIVING ME ANY CHOICE!"

Unable to stand and watch, Kayo ran up behind Silver Swan, jumped and kicked her right in the back. Swan went head-over-heels, the blades snapping off the wings and she landed on her back with her head right in front of Obsidian's domed helmet. They briefly stared at each other before both scrambled to get to their feet. Swan produced another blade and began slashing at Obsidian, trying to slice through his armoured-suit. But it didn't even scratch. Obsidian powered up his left gauntlet and slammed it into the ground, the shockwave sending not only Swan backwards but Kayo as well as she'd gotten too close to it.

"Kayo, I told you to get out of here!" Obsidian snapped.

"This would be over a lot quicker if we just worked together to take her down!" Kayo retorted.

"NO!" shouted Silver Swan. "YOU'RE NEVER GONNA TAKE ME IN! NEVER!" She swung both her wings one after the other, releasing a series of vicious sharp bladed-feathers at Kayo. They were coming from both sides so Kayo didn't know which way to jump. Luckily for her, Obsidian jumped in the way. The blades impacted off his armour and dropped harmlessly onto the sand. Swan then fired up her suit's jets and lifted upwards out of their reach. "DON'T FOLLOW ME!" she bellowed before shooting off into the sky.

"OH, NO, YOU DON'T!" Obsidian shouted. He then fired his suit's own jets and took off after her, leaving Kayo behind.

"Huh," grunted Kayo in annoyance. "He could have least offered me a lift." She activated the remote system on her communication device. "No matter. I have my own." Thunderbird Shadow then appeared and she used her grapple gun to rise up and jump into the cockpit. She too then set off in pursuit. Looking ahead, she could just make out the shapes of Silver Swan and Obsidian whilst off to her left, the GDF Flyer was also heading in the same direction.

"Looks like we have a chase on our hands, Kyrano," Colonel Jennings said as her hologram appeared from the projector.

"Colonel Jennings, Swan is desperate," Kayo said. "The Hood's gone missing and all of this was a ruse to get International Rescue to help her find him."

"This sort of thing I'd expect nothing less from someone like her," said Colonel Jennings. "We need to bring her in before she hurts anyone else."

"I have an idea," said Kayo. "If Obsidian and I can work together, we'll have a better chance of bringing her down. But Obsidian is reluctant to let me help. He feels that as she's his sister, it's his responsibility to bring her in."

"He'll have no choice but to accept your help once I've ordered him to," said Colonel Jennings. "I'm guessing that it is a new version of your old ship you're flying?"

"That's correct, Colonel," said Kayo. "Faster, more agile. This is its first flight out. Not even had a chance to test it."

Colonel Jennings gave a smile. "I'm glad to see you have your wings back, Kayo. Show Swan what you can do with it."

Kayo grinned. "F-A-B!" she said, speeding up and chasing down Obsidian and Swan.

With one incident in the city dealt with, the International Rescue team moved throughout the city of Rio to see what they could do to help out. For the most part, the Fire Department had managed to get the fires under control, but there were still a lot of people trapped in rubble. The casualty list was rising, and it was with regret that they learned not everyone had made it out alive.

Scott couldn't help but feel bitter when he learned of one group in particular that had been lost when a building collapsed. "Swan must pay for this!" he said angrily. "I hope Kayo's subdued her by now."

"Actually it's turned into a chase, Scott," John answered over the helmet radio. "The GDF brought Obsidian along. Now they seem to be heading over the mountains in the direction of Peru."

"Kayo said Swan was a handful, even for her," said Gordon. "At least Kayo now has some back-up."

"Speaking of back-up," said Virgil. "Looks like we've got some of our own. The GDF is here."

The other GDF Flyer had landed in an open area in the middle of the city. A large group of soldiers had already set up a make-shift medical center inside one of the city's parks where thousands were brought for treatment as the hospitals were by now struggling to cope with demand.

As the International Rescue team arrived, they spotted a familiar figure dressed in a scarlet uniform overseeing the moving of equipment and medical supplies.

"Hey, Virg," said Alan. "Your girl is here."

Virgil beamed. "I was hoping she'd be coming out here," he said.

"Don't disrupt her work, Virgil," warned Scott. "She's got a job to do just like us."

"F-A-B," said Virgil.

Scott had expected Virgil to sound annoyed by that, but in fact he wasn't. Virgil knew all too well that this wasn't the time for a romantic meet-up with the woman he would be marrying eventually. He did however bring Thunderbird 2 over the park and move the craft's wings up and down in a slight rolling motion which was a secret signal to Hayley. As he looked down, he could just make out Hayley looking up in his direction. She gave a warm smile and waved back.

There suddenly came a loud BANG from a further area of the city. Looking across, Scott and Virgil noticed a bright flash and another great cloud of smoke rising just off to the right.

"Swan's not in the city," Scott said. "She can't have caused that."

"Not unless she's planted bombs," Virgil replied.

"Negative, guys," said John. "I'm getting reports that one of the gas mains has gone. You'd better seal it off before it spreads."

"F-A-B," said Scott as he and Virgil turned their ships in the direction of the new danger.

"Say, Virgil," Gordon said from inside his DOMO-Pod which he was now driving along with Alan in the same direction. "Should we call up Kip Harris and see if he can help with this?"

Virgil thought for a moment. "You know what, Gordon, that might not be a bad idea," he said. "John, can you get in touch with him, please?"

"I'll get on that," said John. "In the meantime, do what you can to clear the area."

Mr Mackay took Penelope and Parker to Cell Block B where Light-Fingered Fred was being held. All of the prisoners were inside their cells, concealed behind thick steel doors that were unbreakable. Eventually after going up two flights of stairs and walking along a metal walkway, they reached a door and Mr Mackay peered through a viewing hole. Inside was Light-Fingered Fred, sitting on a chair beside a table with handcuffs on and twiddling his thumbs.

Mr Mackay turned to face Penelope and Parker. "How long will you be?" he asked.

"That depends on whether we deem what he has to say important or not," said Penelope.

Mr Mackay twitched again. "Mr Barrowclough and I will be right outside," he said as he used his handprint to unlock the door.

There was a hiss and a clunk as the locks on the door opened. Then it slid sideways to allow Penelope and Parker to enter.

Light-Fingered Fred looked up as they walked in. "You came," he said. "I wasn't sure if you would."

"Well we only found out it was you who wanted to see us after we got here," said Penelope. "Now then, Fred, let me make this very clear. You better have a good reason for wanting to see us. If I don't deem it worth our time, we will leave. Is that understood?"

"I quite understand, your Ladyship," said Fred. "But no offence, it's him that I wanted to see." He looked at Parker who was giving him quite the death-stare.

"We figured that as much," said Penelope. "Anything you have to say to Parker you can say to me as well."

Fred gave a sigh. "Very well," he said. He turned to Parker. "Just to make this clear. I haven't called for any favours or anything like that. I just wanted to make you aware of something, Nosey."

"Like what?" Parker asked with a slight growl in his voice.

"There's been some talk going around the nick," said Fred. "Apparently you could be in danger, old pal. Oz has come back to England."

Parker frowned. "Oz?"

"Yeah, you know?" said Fred. "Old Chester's boy."

Parker's eyes suddenly widened. "You mean…C-Cobblepot's son?!"

Fred nodded grimly. "You remember what happened, don't you?"

Parker was suddenly looking uncomfortable again. "Yeah…h'I'll be 'onest with you, Fred. This is something I've feared for a very long time."

"You and me both, Nosey," said Fred.

"I'm sorry to interrupt," said Penelope, "but who are we talking about here?"

"Oswald Cobblepot," said Fred. "Have you ever heard of the Cobblepots?"

"No, I can't say I have," Penelope replied.

"H'A bit before your time, m'lady," said Parker. "Fred h'and I knew 'im when we used to, ahem, work for 'is father."

"Chester Cobblepot was London's biggest Kingpin at one point," explained Fred. "Oswald was his main Lieutenant when it came to big jobs. You name it, they did it. They must have hit every bank in the city during their time in power."

"So what happened?" asked Penelope.

"They got too ambitious," said Parker. "Chester decided 'e'd 'ad h'enough h'of robbing banks and chose a different target. One he said would set us up all for life."

"He wanted us to knock off Buckingham Palace," said Fred.

Penelope couldn't believe what she'd just heard. "You're not serious?"

"Very," said Parker. "Nearly all of the gang were prepared to go through with it. They spent weeks studying plans of the palace, where to gain entry. 'ow to…take care h'of the Royal Family…etc."

"But Parker and I were smart enough to realise that this job was far too extreme," said Fred. "It was at that moment we both decided we wanted nothing to do with Chester and his family anymore. So we tipped off the cops to what they were planning and when Chester and Oz led their crews to the palace to do the job, the cops and palace security were waiting to jump them."

Penelope then remembered something. "Wait a moment, I remember when I was in school about how an attempt to rob Buckingham Palace was thwarted." She looked at Parker. "That was both of you?!"

Fred and Parker both nodded.

"That was when we decided to try and go straight, m'lady," said Parker. "For me, it worked. But for Fred…"

"I was able to lay low for several years," said Fred. "But I guess…old habits die hard."

"So what became of the Cobblepots?" asked Penelope.

"Chester and Oz didn't actually get nabbed by the cops," said Fred. "They were the getaway drivers and fled the scene as soon as they realised they'd been rumbled. Last we heard they'd fled the country to the States. Now from what I've been hearing, Chester has gone to the afterlife and Oz seems to have come back to London to potentially try and rebuild what they lost."

"And you think he'll come after the two of you for betraying them?" said Penelope.

"If he's realised it was us…yes," said Fred. "We don't know if any of the rest of the gang knew. I just thought you ought to be informed, Nosey."

Parker's voice seemed to have escaped him.

Silver Swan knew full well that Obsidian and Kayo would not let her just fly away. She was pushing her suits jets to their limit but they stayed on her much to her fury. However, she quickly realised that Obsidian's suit was not quite as fast as hers was.

"GIVE IT UP, SIS!" Obsidian shouted. "I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO USE FORCE!"

"YOU'LL NEVER CATCH ME, FUSE!" Silver Swan shouted back.

Obsidian gritted his teeth. As much as he hated to admit it, he could tell that she was right. He too was pushing his suit to its limit and he wasn't closing the gap at all.

Thunderbird Shadow then caught up. "Need some help, Obsidian?" Kayo asked.

Obsidian sighed in defeat. "Yeah, please. Sorry for not accepting it earlier."

"No worries," said Kayo. She smirked to herself knowing that Colonel Jennings had given him the instruction to let her help. "I've got an idea. I'll use Thunderbird Shadow's landing legs to throw up at Swan. That should give you the boost you need to grab hold of her."

Obsidian grinned. "I like this plan," he said. "Let's do it!"

So Kayo brought Thunderbird Shadow above Obsidian and lowered the landing legs. The claws clamped around Obsidian and he deactivated his own jets. He now allowed himself to be carried as Thunderbird Shadow increased its speed. Its powerful engines could easily outrun both him and Swan if Kayo had wanted to.

Swan glanced back and saw what was going on. She gasped, realising she couldn't escape from them if she continued in a straight line. "NO!" she yelled, diving down. But Kayo was prepared for this and began chasing after her.

What followed was like a scene from a War movie where aircraft got into a dogfight. They went up, they went down, they changed direction every few seconds with Swan desperately trying to evade her pursuers. Obsidian was poised, ready to go the moment Kayo decided to release him, although Kayo needed to pick the right moment to do so.

Swan then spotted the GDF Flyer heading their way and she had a deadly idea. "Ha! If I can take that out, they'll have no choice but to save them instead of trying to capture me," he told herself and began to race towards it.

Colonel Jennings was inside the Flyer's cockpit. Through scanners and long-range optics, they could see that Silver Swan was on a different trajectory.

"Ma'am!" exclaimed one of the pilots. "The target's headed right at us!"

"Get ready with counter-measures!" ordered Colonel Jennings. "Maybe we can disorientate her enough so they can bring her down."

However, they wouldn't need to do that. In deciding to attack the Flyer, Swan was now flying in a straight line again, unintentionally giving Kayo and Obsidian the opportunity they'd been waiting for.

"Here's our chance," said Kayo. "You ready?"

"Throw me!" Obsidian replied.

Kayo violently pulled back on the controls. Thunderbird Shadow's nose shot upwards, throwing the legs forward and releasing Obsidian at the same time. He accelerated to a speed twice that of what Swan was capable of achieving and he was on top of her in less than two seconds.

"WHAAAAA-?!" squealed Swan, startled as Obsidian wrapped his bulky arms around her torso.

"GOTCHA!" yelled Obsidian, allowing his weight to pull both down towards the mountains and jungle below.

"NOOOOOOOO!" screamed Swan. "LET GO OF MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

But Obsidian didn't let go and they plummeted at speed, striking into one of the mountainsides. They bounced and rolled several times like two footballs, rolling down and being thrown off jagged rocks before crashing into the trees down in the jungle below. A number of trees were ripped apart before both landed hard on the floor.

For Obsidian, he felt somewhat disoriented but he wasn't hurt thanks to the toughness of his suit. For Swan, she hadn't suffered any internal injuries thanks to her own suit but she felt rather sick from the violent spinning and impacts. As she shakily picked herself up, she wretched and threw up before falling to her knees.

Obsidian pushed his way through the jungle growth until he found her. "Sis?" No response. "I'm sorry. I didn't want to do this."

Panting, Swan found her voice. "But…you did…it…any…way…"

"I had to," said Obsidian sadly as he walked round in front of her. "How could you allow yourself to become this, Catherine? You were my idol. The one I looked up to. Now look at you. You're a mess."

Swan looked up at him, wiping the mess from her mouth. "I'm a mess?" she asked. "You don't look much better."

Obsidian looked down at his suit. Whilst still intact, it had suffered some scrapes and scratches from the impacting of the fall. "I don't mean that in that sense," he said. "Have you even seen what you look like in that suit?"

"The Hood rewarded me with this," said Swan. "I've never been a better person."

Obsidian stared in disbelief. "Seriously?! You look hideous in that! The sister I knew would never agree to wear something like that! Does it even come off?"

"I don't want it to come off!" snapped Swan, slowly getting to her feet albeit shakily. "It's made me more powerful than I could have ever dreamed to be. I won't let you or anyone take that from me!"

Obsidian was too stunned for words.

"Now…let me say this, just once more…" Swan continued in a low and dangerous voice. "Get out of my way…and DON'T FOLLOW ME!"

Obsidian had had enough. He'd secretly been powering up his gauntlets. "SMASH!" he yelled, slamming them together and releasing a shockwave that threw Swan backwards into a tree. She smashed through the tree and it collapsed.

Enraged, Swan scrambled back up and let out a sonic scream that sent Obsidian flying back and through two more trees, taking them down as well.

Up above, Thunderbird Shadow and the GDF Flyer were circling the area.

"They're really going for it down there, aren't they?" said Kayo.

"We have to put an end to this before they destroy too much of the jungle," said Colonel Jennings. "Get down there and help Obsidian out."

"F-A-B," said Kayo. She flew Thunderbird Shadow down and low so that it was just above the treetops and then opened the canopy before leaping out as she passed over where Obsidian and Swan were fighting. She then used her airbrake to carry herself down towards them.

If the fighting on the island beach had seemed vicious, it was nothing compared to what was happening now. Both Swan and Obsidian seemed to have seen red. Both were going for each other with no sign of letting up on either side. Obsidian was desperate to end this purely because he wasn't at all happy at fighting his sister, but was angered by how in denial she was about what she'd become. Swan on the other hand was beyond livid that her own brother was the one who was trying to take her down when they'd been through so much in the past. Just knowing he was working for those she despised more than anything else in the world made her feel hurt and betrayed. Neither were going to stop until at least one of them had been beaten…or worse.

Knowing she couldn't let this continue, Kayo dropped down and landed on the top of Silver Swan who had just launched a charge at Obsidian. She knocked her down into the dirt of the jungle floor and she skidded along getting a face-full of mud.

"UUURGHH!" growled Swan, spitting out the dirt that had gone into her mouth. She then looked back at Kayo. "STAY OUT OF THIS!" She jumped up and swung at her with her claws extended.

Kayo grabbed her arms. "No, Swan…this ends now!" she said. She then began to spin around with Swan's legs rising off the ground. "OBSIDIAN!" She released her grip on Swan's arms and threw her in the direction of Obsidian.

Obsidian threw a power-punch, striking his sister in the back and sending her across the clearing they'd now made with their fight where she impacted another tree although this time it remained intact. As Swan fell to the floor, she felt sick and dizzy. Her body was telling her to give up, but her heart and mind were still set on finding out where the man she idolised so much. She struggled to get to her feet as Kayo and Obsidian closed in on her. She drew what breath she had left and let out another sonic scream, only this one was nowhere near as powerful as the previous one. Kayo and Obsidian had anticipated this and both jumped clear to avoid the sonics.

Kayo then threw both her arms above her and Obsidian grabbed hold. He then swung her round like a mace, the tips of her boots striking Swan across the left side of the face. Then he swung her back again and the souls of her boots struck the right side of Swan's face. Swan cried out in pain both times. Her face was currently the only thing not protected by the armour as she'd not thought to activate the head covering that her suit had built into it. Obsidian then finished her off with a drop kick with his left leg. Swan flew backwards, hitting the tree again and then dropping to the floor with a groan.

Obsidian and Kayo moved in, ready to continue the fight. But Swan just gave a moan and then stopped moving. Kayo quickly checked her life-signs. "She's done," she told Obsidian. "She's out cold."

Obsidian let out a sigh and then fell backwards onto his bottom. "Thank God for that," he said. He opened his helmet. "Hey, Kayo? There's a compartment on the right side of my leg. Could you open it and pass me what's inside?"

"Sure," Kayo said. She found the compartment and opened it. She was surprised to find it contained a full box of tissues. She handed the box to Obsidian who took out a tissue and then started making sobbing noises, burying his face into it. Kayo blinked in surprise. "Are you…crying?"

Obsidian wiped his eyes and then blew his nose. "Wouldn't you, if you'd had to beat up one of your brothers?" he asked miserably.

Kayo fell silent. That was a thought that she'd never even considered before. Choosing not to answer such a question, she contacted the Flyer. "Colonel Jennings…Swan is down. I repeat - Swan is down."

"Excellent!" said Colonel Jennings. "Well done. We'll be right down to collect you all."

The gas fire turned out to not be as bad as originally thought. The authorities were able to seal off the rest of the system from the affected area and kept it localised.

"Any word from Kip, John?" Virgil asked.

"I'm afraid not, Virgil," John replied. "Guessing he must be busy with another job."

"Then we have to sort this ourselves," said Scott.

"Do we even have anything that can put this out with us?" asked Alan.

"We can't use regular water," said Virgil. "We need foam. But we don't have the fire-fighting module with us."

Just then two Fire Trucks came racing onto the scene.

"We might not, but I bet they do," said Gordon.

"Go speak to them, Gordon," said Scott. "Perhaps we can work together on this one."

"F-A-B," said Gordon. He drove his DOMO-Pod over to the Trucks and disembarked. He straightaway could feel the heat from the hole in the ground made by the burning gas. "Hey, guys! You got foam in your trucks?"

"We certainly do!" answered the Fire Captain. "Do you have any?"

"No, we don't," said Gordon. "But we could fill the hole once the fire is out."

"That'll be ideal," said the Captain. He began barking orders to his crews. "GET THE FOAM HOSES! LET'S PUT THIS FIRE OUT BEFORE IT SPREADS!"

Gordon returned to his Pod. "Good news, guys. The Fire guys are gonna tackle the blaze. But if we could swap the Pods into Bulldozer ones then we can fill in the hole once the fire is out."

"That's good enough for me," said Scott.

"There's an open square a few blocks away," Virgil said. "Alan and Gordon, meet me there. I can drop the module so you can reconfigure the Pods."

"F-A-B!" said Alan and Gordon together.

Scott stayed behind in Thunderbird 1 to observe the Fire-Fighters as they tackled the blaze whilst the Pods headed off after Thunderbird 2.

Just then, John called in. "Scott, I've just had a call from Kayo."

"Is she okay?" asked Scott.

"Affirmative," replied John. "It was quite a fight so she says but she and Obsidian have managed to defeat Swan. she's now in GDF custody."

Scott breathed a sigh of relief. "About damn time!" he said. "I just hope I don't get to see her face in person."

"What do you mean by that?" asked John.

"After what she's done, I may not be responsible for my actions," Scott said dangerously.

John gave him a stern look. "I'd like to hear you say that to Dad," he said.

Scott decided very quickly that he had no intention of telling Jeff what he'd just said.

Will the GDF be able to keep Silver Swan contained or will she escape again? Answers in the review section please.
