Prologue
(Third-Person POV)
*This story begins in San Francisco, known for the Golden Gate Bridge, Cable Cars, Alcatraz Island, & Chinatown. But today, it might be known for something else for a long time. Three streaks, a red one chasing two blue ones was zooming through the city. The red streak was a grown man with dark brown hair, brown eyes, light peach skin, a dark brown mustache, & wearing black goggles with red lenses, a red flight suit with black & brown accents riding in an aircrafts. The two blue streaks were a male blue anthropomorphic hedgehog (15 years old) with peach skin, green eyes, & wearing white gloves, white socks, & red Puma Dare sneakers with white straps, white soles & yellow Puma tags running along with a blue female anthropomorphic hedgehog (14 years old) with peach skin, a fresh crisscross wound on her left cheek, green eyes, & wearing a green scrunchie in a short ponytail, purple crop-top hoodie over a white tank top, white fingerless gloves, long black pants, & purple sneakers (look up "Ayla the Hedgehog - Movie Version" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt"), who was riding on a hoverboard (look up "Hoverboard" by "ZBMBT" on "DeviantArt"). The picture froze*
(Ayla's POV)
Sonic:*off-screen* So, we know what you're thinking.
Ayla:*off-screen* Why are two hedgehogs beings chased by a madman with mustache from the Civil War?
*The picture unfroze & the two hedgehogs continued dodging the attacks*
Sonic:*off-screen* Well, to be honest, it feels like we've been running our whole lives.
Ayla:*off-screen* Yeah.
Sonic:*off-screen* Is this too much? Are we going too fast? It's kind of what we do, well most likely me. You know what? Let's back up.
*The picture went in reverse*
(Flashback - 10 Years ago)
*It now showed a beautiful green island in the middle of the ocean*
Sonic:*off-screen* This is the island where we're from. It had everything. Sandy beaches, cascading waterfalls, public access to loop-de-loops. And I never had to catch a school bus because I could run across the entire island in less than two seconds.
Ayla:*off-screen* Also, there was no school.
Sonic:*off-screen* I know, pretty sweet island, right?
*A little blue streak went across the island. It was a 5 year old Sonic, wearing small, brown boots was zooming around the island*
Little Sonic: Yeah!
Sonic:*off-screen* I was born with extraordinary powers and was told to keep them secret. And like any kid, I did the exact opposite.
*Then he rolled through a bunch of connecting houses until he made it to the one at the top. He rolled into the house & bumped into a large anthropomorphic purple-brown owl with blue eyes, white feathers on her face, a curved black beak & wearing golden armor with notable details engraved on it that covered the front of her torso & was held in place by a collar around her neck & brown straps on her lower abdomen, waking her up from a nap*
Sonic:*off-screen* That's Longclaw. She took care of us. She was basically Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Ayla:*off-screen* If Obi-Wan Kenobi had a beak and ate mice.
Longclaw: Sonic, someone could have seen you.
*A 4 year old Ayla (wearing a daisy in her short hair, a pink dress & pink boots (look up "Ayla - Age 4 - Movie Version" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt")) came out from behind her*
Little Ayla: Longclaw's right, big brother. You have to be careful. What if you got captured?
Sonic:*off-screen* This is my sister, Ayla. She's a year younger than me. She wasn't born with any powers, but she's very smart. She able to read at the age of two, if you can believe it.
Ayla:*off-screen* What can I say, I'm a genius.
Little Sonic: No one saw me. I'm too fast! And, I wanted to bring you two these.
*He took out two sunflowers. Longclaw & I were about to take them, when suddenly we saw a group of echidna warriors in the trees, with arrows pointed at Sonic. Longclaw grabbed me & then my brother*
Longclaw: Get down!
*She quickly closed the door just as the arrows hit it. Some of them came in through the windows & hit out sunflowers*
Sonic:*off-screen* Turns out with great power, comes great power-hungry bad guys. And I led them right to us.
Ayla:*off-screen* You should've listened.
*The echidnas swarmed the house. I clung to Longclaw, scared. She then flew out of the back window with us on her claws. They shot arrows at us. Suddenly, one of them hit Longclaw in the chest. We crashed landed in the middle of the forest*
Longclaw: Listen carefully, Sonic. You have a power unlike anything I have ever seen. And that means someone will always want it. Ayla, take care of your brother and never leave his side. Sonic, take care of your sister. The only way to stay safe is to stay hidden. *she took a gold ring out of a pouch & threw it. it expanded, showing a different forest on the other side, which was dark* This world is on the far side of the universe. You should be safe there.
Little Sonic: I don't want to go without you!
*I hugged Longclaw*
Little Ayla: We can't leave you behind!
Longclaw: You must. *she gave Sonic the pouch* These Rings will be your most important possession. *the echidnas were closing in on us* If you're ever discovered, use one. *she herded us towards the portal* Never stop running. Now, go!
*Sonic picked me up & we went into the portal. We stopped when we saw Longclaw getting ready to fight the echidnas*
Sonic & Ayla: Longclaw!
*Sonic dropped the pouch as we ran back towards the portal*
Longclaw: Goodbye, Sonic, Ayla.
*The portal disappeared just as we were about to go through it. We both hugged each other & started crying*
Ayla:*off-screen* And this is how our lives on Earth began.
