Wow its been a while anywayyyyyy im back and such blarg.
Mizu ran down the steps as fast as he could hoping to get to the door before it could happen. He was so quiet about it and so sure that nothing was in his way until...
"Mizu Hagihara, if you take so much as ONE more step you'll be in for the worst pains of your life!" His mother yelled. Mizu saw it coming but that didn't stop the dread he . "Yes Mother."
"You've got to greet your family when you see them. The last week has been full of work and though your father says that you've done your share I know you could stand to manage more effort here than you do out there with thise ninja folk."Mrs Hagihara was certainly not the violent type but when it came to manners she was usually very demanding. Mizu said good morning to his parents and askes about the shop like he'd been doing in the past two weeks since the semifinals end. And like he'd done every day since, Mizu started to scoot closer and closer to the door. "Stop, Your father has something to tell you." His mother called out when he was reaching for the door handle. Hoping he wouldn't be late to his team meating he went over to his father and listened to what he had to say.
"It's been nice having you around the shop more now that these exams are over. Because of that it got me thinking," Mr Hagihara said. He turned around and pulled out a chest from behind him. "This was your grandfathers got it off a ninja from Stone before his retirement and planned on giving to me." He said distantly. Shaking his head he continued saying,"Well I never became a shinobi and it's not gonna help anyone just collecting dust. If you're serious about this ninja buisness I think you should take it. Your Grandpa would agree." Mizu looked at it curiously opening the chest to find...
"IS THIS A-?! "
Kushina was currently on Uzushio. There, she was not brutally(not that she'd call it that) training her son for his future seat as head but in a meeting. The research trio as they've come to be know were talking to her about a strange discovery they'd made. "Thank you for coming to see us Kushina sama we needed to be sure that it lined up with information only you as tge head possessed." Misaki said.
She went to get the other two who had made a drink for her, a surprisingly good one that reminded her of peaches. She listend to there work on enchantment a skill that Satomi had decided not to use herself as seals often got the job done and felt more familiar to her. They were then went down the rabbit whole going beyond the knowledge if Satomi's blessing to the tome itself trying to practice magic like the Umbra once did. With various results from potions to concotions with irregular ingredientes and more. They found that for these abilites things could be tied back to enchantment mostly. This brought them to the basics of seals and how they worked.
Seals were kanji written and placed in a way that guided the chakras flow through different stanges that produced different effects based on what kanji/pattern was used. Enchantment seemed to be the antithesisto seals. The spiritual energy once used in a practice produced a disred(with control) effect and didn't need to be controlled through a phsical medium like seals. The changes it made didn't change the energy at all to do it just how much was used depending on the effect. The strangest part was that in the case of Enchantment, they could see the process, and not just the changes
kno that happened but the magic making it happen. For seals all that work is masked buy the physical medium even when writing out seals in the air chakra being partly physical makes that process impossible to see betonf the glow of a finished (active) seal. Magic, a purely spiritual energy didn't act that way though. Instead it was like adding a lense to everything and making it standout even in purgatorio.
"When Niibashi went to check I started thinking if it was normal for us to be seeing this since Misaki and I are Eddy faction. Stupidly, I went to ask Niibashi." Ichiro said. "Then I realized I could very faintly make out his outline. This I definitely knew shouldn't be possible. I asked Misaki to look and she saw the same thing. The Uzumaki doesn't have a dōjutsu and the anomalies that do are almost always sealed away so what could this be?" He finished. Kushina took this as her que to enter the conversation. Well it sure was a good idea to give them Library duty. Gotta treat myself for it later! Good job me! Kushina thought. You would prefer stuffing your face instead of getting more work done. A voice huffed in the back of her mind. Choosing to play into the foxes banter later, Kushina spoke finally.
"It's just like you said; the Uzumaki clan doesn't have any dōjutsu on record and despite that you experienced something your senses shouldn't be capable of."
"Yes but why is that? Why are we seeing this when we aren't using our Minds Eye?" Misaki asked.
"Satomi saw a becan of light that lead her to the tome of darkness. Why you can see this phenomenon is why she could see that one. Our ancestor from before we were even Uzumaki had a great gift if sight and is the reason ecery Uzumaki is a sensor type though on different levels." Kushina explained trying her best to endure the foxes mocking and stay demure.
Niibashi nodded "I see so then that gift of sight was lesser in the past but since the first great ninja war, that's just a guess, the passive use of it and run ins with those lowly sages made it more accessible. Common even." Ichiro looked up from his notes and added "We think that by Lady Tatsuos generation all Uzumaki had the ability but attributed/disregarded it based on faction."
"So you want to see if i have the ability as proof!" Kushina said. "Ok then let's not waist time then y'know! Run the tests." The trio was dead on in their hypotheses.
"Glad you showed me this but I really don't know what to do with it." Anko said to Mizu. She wouldn't tell anyone this but the break gave her a new favorite amongst the genin. At first it was Shino due to his naturally off putting nature and good manners. Since the semifinals though, she'd taken more of a shine to Mizu, teaching him had been quite fun and now this.
"What do you mean you don't know what to do with it? Isn't it like universal or something?" The boy asked. Mizu took back the chest and looked sadly at it's contents, he was hoping to make good use of the gift. Without his grandpa to explain it though it was useless.
"That there is a summoning scroll and because it's not the same animal as what I'm contracted to I can't understand it you'll juat have to do the jutsu on the scroll and hope you don't die." Anko said flippantly. Goading him into doing the justsu was no problem, now she just had to deal with the other two and their training. Oh well might as well have fun trying. She thought to herself. "Okay maggots lets whip you into shape."
Kushina's good day was suddenly mutilated by the unplanned visit of one Jiraiya of the toads. A fitting beast for him in her book the man may have won the respect and admiration of her husband but she'd be damned he if he got even the tiniest bit comfortable around her! That ood perverted bastard just waltzed in pretending he had some advise for her son and poking around where he shouldn't.
"Spymaster my ass I swear we always catch you trying to snoop in on our clan specifically pervert." Kushina said in smothered rage from behind him.
"Oh Kushina! Yes well I certainly can't get past a clan head now can I. Yeah well it looks like my dear nephew aint here so I better amscray." He said before he ran out of the compound. Of course Naruto wasn't too keen on seeing his estranged licentious uncle/godfather. According to the sage Naruto's exact words were, "Why don't you go waist some publishers time instead of mine?" Kushina was proud but kept it to herself mostly. Minato and him spoke briefly and naturally that came back to her as well. The snake was back in town and planning something.
"Guess it was too much trouble for him to find out WHAT his old teammate was up to but hey that's Jiraiya for you." Said Kushina finishing her recap. It was so annoying to her that she should be kept out of the loop when her clan was supposed to be responsible for its protection. Her thoughts were interrupted by the wave of heat the crashed against her face.
"Huff and lemme guess. The flesh bag left after dropping the news, cowards are the worst meals." Kushina heard from behind the golden mist in front of her. There waiting unchaind on his woodsy island of consciousness was Kurama.
"Kurama I would strongly suggest eating anything other than that slimeball of a man. He's probably disease ridden frok all his 'research'. I bet tastes even worse, like trash believe it." She laughed out. Kushina calmed herself down and looked at the beast seriously. "I can count on you if things get serious right?"
"You've proven yourself just make sure you know your limits kit."
