A/N: Hope everyone who read this in LA is safe, my thoughts are with you all

Sara stands by the window, staring out over Morrison's yard with a pensive look on her face. George is asleep on the couch behind her and she keeps an eye on him in the reflection, barely responding as John walks up to her. "Hey, Uncle John," she says quietly, reaching up and curling her fingers around his.

"Hey, girlie," he says, leaning over and pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "Doing alright?"

"Yeah," she says, leaning back and pressing her face into his side. "Everything's going to be alright, isn't it?"

"Yeah," he says, running his hand through her hair. "It'll take time, but things'll be ok. I know it's scary, but we've got you. Me, and your dad, and mom, and Aunt Taya. You and George have nothing to worry about."

She sighs, a heavy noise for such a little girl, and he hugs her closer. "Promise?"

"I promise," he says, rubbing her back.

"Thank you, Uncle John," she murmurs.

"Any time," he says, pressing another kiss to her forehead. "C'mon, wanna help me get George into an actual bed?"

She smiles and shrugs, finally pulling her gaze away from the window. "Yeah, sure." She rushes over to the couch. "Oh George, come on! Let's go to bed!"

John laughs at her and shakes his head, going over to sooth a groggy George and help them both to get ready for bed. "Tomorrow'll be better, guys," he says, carrying George towards the bedroom, Sara holding onto his free hand.

"I hope so," George mumbles, burying his face in John's shoulder.

John chuckles and kisses the side of his face. "It will. C'mon, kiddos. Get you settled in and comfy and your mom and dad'll be back really soon."

He sits with the kids once he has them tucked in, reading one of the books AJ had told him is George's favorite. George is asleep before he finishes, Sara not far behind. He smiles and stays on the end of the bed, making sure they remain comfortably asleep until the others return from doing what they can to offer assistance to those in need.
