Chapter 199: Three's a Crowd
The next couple of weeks went by and Spyro had finally gotten both the hangar bay back to full working order and managed to get his lab back into semi working order, though with how the repairs were going, it would be some time before he got the entire garage back into full operational order. As he was working on fixing all of the damage, he was in front of his terminal, looking at the two items that Rarity and Rainbow Dash had gotten from Coco and from Spitfire, a spool of rainbow colored thread that Rarity got from Coco after winning the fashion show in Manehattan and the badge that Spitfire gave Rainbow Dash at Rainbow Falls after qualifying for the Equestria Games, both mares letting him know that they had felt something after a certain event had happened. For Rarity, it was realizing how terrible she had treated her friends after they were generous enough to help her with winning the show. While Rainbow Dash felt the same feeling after trying to fake her injuries so that she wouldn't have to choose between flying with either Cloudsdale or Ponyville, but int he end chose her friends over her heroes and a team that could win.
As he was observing these items, he was trying to piece together what kind of connection these items could have with one another and with his friends while the garage continued with his repairs, sometimes having minor glitches every now and then, which he'd smack the side of the terminal and it would fix the glitch as he observed the two items next to the images of his friends.
"What's the connection?" Spyro asked himself, starring at the hologram. "This feeling that my friends felt, this... whatever it is, it seems like it's connected to these items. But what does it mean!?"
"Sir, you've been pushing yourself way too hard as of late." AIVA said. "Why don't you relax a while and be with your friends?"
"I wish that were possible AIVA." Spyro said, swiping right to reveal the three sets of coordinates. "Malefor wants something from three worlds, worlds that these coordinates lead to. Both he and I now have the coordinates and who knows where they go."
"Sir, I have already deciphered the first set of coordinates." AIVA said. "They are the coordinates for the Pink Palace."
"The Pink Palace!?" Spyro asked, now bursting out laughing as if it was the funniest thing in all the worlds, which it was to him. "Oh, good luck to him then! There is no way they're going to get to that world without the key!"
"Indeed sir, but there is still the likelihood they will find another way." AIVA pointed out.
"Good luck with that I say." Spyro said, his laughing fit ending. "The only way to get into that world now is if they find the key, which I have hidden, so there is no way they're getting into the Pink Palace, like ever!"
"Spyro, ya in there?" Applejack asked, walking in as he deactivated his hologram
"Hey AJ, what's up?" Spyro asked, walking over and seeing that her midsection was starting to buldge out a bit. "How you holding up?"
"Oh, Ah'm fine." Applejack replied. "Though Ah have been craving some pickles and ice cream. Is that normal?"
"How should I know?" Spyro asked. "Anyway, was there something you needed?"
"Oh yeah, Ah was wantin' to ask ya if ya could go and get some shoppin' done real quick." Applejack replied, giving him a note.
"Milk, lemons, diapers... we running out already?" Spyro asked.
"What do ya expect from havin' two kids already?" Applejack asked. "They go through those things like termites through a forest. Uh, speakin' of which-"
"Again?" Spyro asked. "I thought I got rid of those things the first time."
"They always come back in the end." Applejack replied. "Ah was wantin' to ask if ya had anythin' that will take care of them."
"Yeah, I do." Spyro said, walking over and pulling out a green orb. "It's a new kind of termite killing chemical, but it's highly experimental and who knows what it can do to you and the baby. So please, let Big Mac handle the termites. Close the windows and let the gases remain in the house for at least a couple of hours before opening them up again."
"Got it." Applejack said, taking the orb in her mouth. "Thanks Spyro."
"You're welcome." Spyro said. "And be careful! That thing is very delicate and will break if you bite down too hard!"
"Relax, will ya?" Applejack asked. "Ah'm not a baby you know."
She then walked away from him, which he smiled and shook his head at Applejack, loving every bit of her as he walked out of the garage and made his way into town to get everything that Applejack wanted him to get on her list, making his way into town and towards the stores when he looked over and saw Spike get the mail, walking back inside of the library and close the door, so he decided to make a quick stop before heading to the stores. He knocked on the door, which it opened and when it did, Twilight was looking very excited, but when she saw him, she looked disappointed and unhappy.
"Oh, hey Spyro." Twilight said in disappointment.
"Hey Twilight." Spyro said, noticing how upset she was. "What's with the long face?"
Spike then started laughing, which Spyro face smacked himself from the unplanned joke while Twilight just seemed annoyed.
"Very funny." Twilight said, walking away. "I'm waiting for Cadence to come. She said she could come this weekend and spend some quality time with me."
"That's amazing news Twiley." Spyro said. "But what about Shining Armor?"
"Oh, he couldn't make it." Twilight replied. "Somepony needed to remain in the Crystal Empire and make sure nothing bad happened."
"Oh, too bad." Spyro said. "Well, hope your weekend goes well."
They then heard someone knock at the door and Twilight got excited again, running to the door and opened it, thinking it was Cadence, but it was Fluttershy.
"Oh, it's you." Twilight said in defeat.
"Oh, I'm sorry if I did something wrong." Fluttershy said.
"Oh no, you didn't do anything wrong." Spyro said. "Twilight's excited to see her Sister-in-law this weekend."
"Oh, that is exciting." Fluttershy said. "I'm sorry I wasn't who you were expecting, but I had some exciting news that I couldn't wait to tell somepony." She then pulled out a letter and showed it to the three of them. "The Equestrian Society for the Preservation of Rare Creatures to observe the rarest, tiniest, most adorable magical creatures in all of Equestria. The Breezies!"
"Breezies?" Spyro asked.
"They're magical creatures that have special magic that help to protect the pollen that they carry." Twilight said. "And it's an amazing honor to be able to observe them."
"It's not just amazing." Fluttershy said, looking excited, though she was quiet about it. "It's fantastic. Not just fantastic! It's the best news ever!"
"And cue the door crushing Spike." Spyro said.
"Wait what?" Spike asked as the door fell on him, Pinkie coming in and looking excited.
"I just got the most amazingly, super exciting news that has ever been recorded in all of Ponyville history!" Pinkie said, pulling out a flier with some old and busted furniture. "It's a flier for a one day sale for used patio furniture!"
She continued to cheer, everyone just smiling at the over excited party pony as Spyro turned to go out and to the stores.
"Well, I gotta be going now." Spyro said. "I need to pick up some things that Applejack said we needed."
"Oh, she needing you to pick up some baby supplies for Midnight and Rosy?" Twilight asked.
"Of course." Spyro said. "Those two go through diapers like crazy. I need to get my garage back in working order before they make me go broke."
He then left the library with the three mares to discuss more about the Breezies while he went out and once at the stores, he went immediately to get some of the baby supplies thast Applejack wanted him to get before getting everything else she had on her list, making his way back home when he looked to his right and saw that all of his friends had gathered at the station and went over to see what was going on and saw that Fluttershy was wearing some adventure gear and had on her saddle bags, looking ready to go as Rarity puty a wrap in her saddle bag.
"Here, this wrap should keep you warm incase it get's cold." Rarity said.
"And Ah packed ya some nice, juicy apples incase ya get hungry." Applejack said.
"Hey girls." Spyro said, walking up.
"Oh, hey Spyro." Twilight said. "Did you come to wish Fluttershy luck? She's on her way to begin observing the Breezies."
"Of course I came to wish her luck." Spyro said, smiling at her. "Hope you have an amazing trip little butterfly."
"Thanks Spyro." Fluttershy said.
"Hope you have a great time out there." Twilight said, fixing her hat.
"Thanks Twilight." Fluttershy said. "I will. And I hope you have a great time with Cadence this weekend."
"All aboard!" The conductor announced.
Fluttershy then walked onto the train and the door closed, the train leaving the station and as it left, Fluttershy came out onto the caboose and waved goodbye to them as Pinkie ran off to say something to her, somehow keeping up with the train as they all shook their heads at the random pony.
"Oh, I'm a little nervous about Cadence's visit." Twilight said.
"What do ya gotta be nervous about Twilight?" Applejack asked.
"Yeah little starlight." Spyro said. "She loves you to pieces."
"I know, but I want her visit to go without a hitch." Twilight said.
"Well why wouldn't it?" Pinkie asked, coming back with a balloon.
"Well, the last couple of times we've seen one another, it wasn't exactly worry free." Twilight said.
"Well, the fate of Equestria did hang in the balance during most of your visits." Rarity said. "Or the fact that we had to find the pieces of Spyro's heart."
"Exactly." Rarity said. "Because of everything that happened, we really haven't had a lot of time to hang out and enjoy being friends again. Which is exactly why this visit has to go well and it is extremely important that we actually spend some quality time together."
"Ah'm guessin' you got a plan that will keep it that way?" Applejack asked right as the back of Spyro's neck crawled, knowing something was about to happen.
"Well, the timing couldn't be more perfect actually." Twilight said. "You see, for one day and one day only, the Star Swirl the Bearded Traveling Museum is coming here to Ponyville!"
"Oh lord, she's gonna break out the grandpa costume again." Spyro said, everyone laughing while she just gave him an unamused look.
"Ha, ha, very funny." Twilight said. "But Cadence and I will be spending a whole day looking at artifacts from Star Swirled the bearded."
"Sounds like a perfect drama-free way to spend the day woth Cadence." Rarity said.
"Not counting the drama of which of the bells on his cloak they plan on putting on display." Twilight said excitedly.
They then heard someone gagging, looking to Rainbow Dash and seeing her trying to act innocent.
"Sorry." Rainbow Dash said. "Got something in the back of my throat. Like a big ball of LAME! Come on, training with Spyro is more fun than that!"
"Well I think it sounds delightful." Rarity said before yawning, which Spyro seemed to notice.
"Yep, sounds like you two can have some quality time together." Applejack said.
"Exactly." Twilight said. "Just some peace and quiet time."
A moment later, they heard a train whistle and looked to the direction Fluttershy's train went and saw a train made entirely out of crystals zooming towards them, screeching to a halt and hurting everyone's ears, Spyro's especially as his ears closed in on themselves and he pressed his hooves against them as hard as he could to keep the screeching out as the train stopped. As it stopped, a fanfare of trumpets sounded and the door opened, allowing for a couple of guards to walk out before a red carpet rolled out and Cadence walked out, Twilight looking happy as she approached.
"Your highness." Cadence said, bowing to her.
Twilight was surprised, but smiled, bowing to her as did everyone else.
"Your highness." Twilight said, making Cadence giggle.
"I'm teasing Twilight." Cadence said. "We're sisters-in-law. We don't need to be so formal." She then nodded to her guards went back on the train, the train leaving the station as they started to walk towards Spyro. "And how's my future Brother-in-law doing?"
"I'm doing great." Spyro replied. "And so is AJ."
"And the baby?" Cadence asked.
"Growin' nice and strong." Applejack replied. "And we've got a couple more bundles of joy."
"Really!?" Cadence asked, looking to the others. "Who else is having a baby!? Twilight!?"
"Eh, not me." Twilight replied with a blush. "You see, Demyx brought a couple of fillies to Spyro and AJ."
"Really?" Cadence asked, looking at him.
"It's true." Spyro replied. "Both unicorns. One was abandoned by her mother in an alleyway near a dumpster and the other lost her parents as they protected her."
"Oh my goodness." Cadence asked, looking horrified before looking furious. "Anypony who'd willingly abandon a filly like that deserves worse than prison!"
"I agree." Spyro said. "But we can't worry about that now. The past is the past. All we can do now is make sure they have a bright future."
"You're right." Cadence said. "You're right. Hey, could I see them sometime this weekend?"
"Of course." Spyro said. "It'll be nice for them to know their Aunt Cadence."
"Eeh, I am so excited!" Cadence said, then looking to Twilight. "And knowing you, you probably have something planned out."
"Oh boy have I." Twilight said, looking to her friends. "Uh, guys, could you-"
"Oh don't worry darling, we'll make sure nothing, absolutely nothing happened that will ruin your visit." Rarity said.
"Go on, have a hootenanny with your kinfolk." Applejack said.
"You guys are the best friends a pony could ask for." Twilight said.
She then ran after Cadence to get started on their plans for the weekend, leaving them alone at the station and smiled at them.
"Ah, two sisters-in-law bonding." Pinkie said. "Well I for one will make sure nothing spoils their day!"
"Hey, does anypony else hear that?" Rainbow Dash ask.
"I hear it." Spyro replied, feeling a shiver run up the back of his neck. "And why is my neck shivering?"
A moment later, they saw an indigo colored blur heading straight for them, which Spyro immediately got in front of everyon and got his Keyblade out and ready to fight as it got closer.
"What in tarnation is that?" Applejack asked.
"Whatever it is, DUCK!" Rarity shouted, everyone ducking down.
"Rarity, that isn't a duck silly." Pinie said.
"Pinkie, get down!" Spyro said, pulling her down.
A moment later, the blur flew over them and they managed to dodge a bullet, whatever it was flew into the nearby tree and they looked over to the tree, slowly approaching it wiht their own blades out.
"What is all of Equestria is that?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Not a what, but a who." Someone said, the voice sounding eerily familiar as he sniffled.
"Oh no, please no." Spyro said.
"That sounds like Discord." Rainbow Dash said.
A moment later, whoever it was that was in the tree sneezed and the leaves went up in bue flames, revealing that it was Discord, much to everyone's displeasure.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Spyro shouted, clearly angry. "MOTHER@#%*ING GOD#%*@ IT! ARE YOU @*%#ING KIDDING ME!? AH #%& &*@ &@%# #%&@* &%@*# %@(@-"
Everyone's eyes was wide with shock as the beeping continued on, looking at him with shock and awe as Discord looked equally as surprised and looked to the reader, moving his hand across his neck to end the feed, and it went to a colorful screen with an image of him popping up with a sign saying 'Due to foul language, we will be right back after the prince calms down'. A second later, it returned to the group glarring up at Discord after Spyro calmed down enough to stop cussing like a sailor and glarred daggers at him, keeping his blade out and ready if he tried anything.
"What in tarnation are you doing here?" Applejack asked, keeping her blade out as well. "And why the jumpin' june bugs are ya blue?"
"Oh, more like a shade of cerulean to be precise." Rarity said.
"Cerulean?" Spyro asked. "No, don't want to know. Discord, you got three seconds to explain yourself before I blast yer ugly mug back to Canterlot."
"Yeah, no matter what color you are, it's the color of trouble!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Oh, Rainbow Dash..." Discord said, sounding not like himself as he flowed down to the ground. "I've changed. Surely you remember that I'm reformed by lovely little... little-"
A moment later, he sneezed, sending a few houses floating into the air and Spyro glarred at him as he did that.
"Reformed?" Spyro asked. "Yeah, I'm not fully convinced."
"Are ya sick or somethin'?" Applejack asked, keeping her distance.
"Well of course I'm sick." Discord said. "Doesn't the blue skin or the sneezes give that away? Oh, I feel faint."
The world then paused, Spyro looking to the reader with a look that said he wasn't convinced.
"Yeah, what the author typed." Spyro said, the world returning to normal as he watched Discord faint into a pile of luggage.
"Oh, I can't stop sneezing and wheezing." Discord said. "I need help."
He then sneezed again and Spyro raised a barrier, protecting them from a snot ball as it then started to slide down and move across the ground, making Rarity's cheeks blow up while everyone else backed away.
"Dude, if you're so sick, why are you even here?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Shouldn't you be home in bed or something?"
"Because this illness has left me helpless." Discord said, sneezing again and blowing his nose, which it flew away. Both Spyro and Applejack raised an eyebrow, both looking at one another before Spyro looked to the reader, reaching up and pulling down a sign that said 'Bullshit'. "Why, I can barely lift a spoon." He deominstrated by using his magic to show what he meant, a thermometer in his mouth and an ice bag on his head and fell down after trying to lift the spoon, standing back up while everyone else was skeptical. "So i came here to see the one pony who actually knows and truly understands me, who could nurse me back to health."
"If you're refering to Fluttershy, you just missed her." Spyro said. "She's on the train right now to observe some Breezies."
"Oh yes, I forgot she just got the letter today." Discord said. "The author doesn't tell me anything."
Dude, stop doing that!
"Oh, he's such a grouch." Discord said. "Needs to get out more and get a girl or something."
Discord, you're on very thin ice right now. Don't... push... it.
"How the heck did you know about her trip?" Applejack asked.
"Well, simply put, she wrote me a letter." Discord said pulling out a letter. "You see, I gave her a mailbox that teleports all letters she's writing to me and send them to me instantly."
"Wait, you and Fluttershy write letters to one another?" Pinkie asked.
"Well of course we do." Discord replied. "We're friends." He then made a patient gown and an IV stand appear, giving them the impression he was deathly ill, but they weren't buying it. "It's a shame that she had to leave on the day that I really, really need her. Oh well, I know exactly what to do."
"Good thinking." Rainbow Dash said, pushing him away. "Go home, put your feet up, I'm sure you'll eventually have the strength to make yourself soup or something."
She then flew back to her friends, but a moment later, he popped back up, spooking them as he stood there.
"Oh, no, no, no, no, no, I mean while Fluttershy is away, you could take care of me while I'm sick!" Discord said. "Isn't that what friends are for? Taking care of each other?"
"Not when it comes to how sick you claim to be!" Spyro said, moving to be inbetween her and Discord.
"Oh, don't worry, I'll try not to get little Applejack sick." Discord said, hugging everyone but her. "Let the healing begin."
"Not it!" Rainbow Dash said, zipping away.
"Well, that's some friend you have there." Discord said. "Leaving one of her friends to suffer while they're sick."
"Dude, you may have earned Fluttershy's trust, but you're going to have to work very hard to earn ours." Spyro said.
"Don't worry Discord, I'll take care of you!" Pinkie said, giving him a bear hug. "I'll cuddle you and read stories to you and tell you all about me!"
"Actually, I think Applejack and Rarity volunteered to be my personal nursemaids." Discord said.
"We did!?" Rarity and Applejack asked at the same time.
"Oh no you don't." Spyro said, pulling out a Halo Plasma rifle. "You are not going to-"
"Spyro!" Applejack said, biting on his tail and yanking him back, spitting it out as looking at him. "Ah don't know where ya got that thing, but we need to do this."
"What, why?" Spyro asked.
"Because that joker is up to something and we need to keep it as far away from Twilight and Cadence as possible." Applejack said. "We don't need him ruinin' their quality time together."
They then looked to Discord, who was in a hospital bed with a monitor keeping an eye on his heartbeat as it beeped.
"I actually agree with Applejack on this." Rarity said. "We need to keep him as far away from them as possible so he doesn't ruin the princesses visit. Though I wish that what was happening right now was something else other than Discord."
"You're right." Spyro said. "We need to keep this guy away from Cadence and Twilight."
"Did I hear you three talking about Princess Cadence's visit?" Discord asked, appearing next to them after being disguised as a tree.
"Maybe." Applejack said.
"How did you know that?" Spyro asked.
"Oh, Fluttershy added that into her letter." Discord said. "It's wonderful for them to get together without any drama to happen. It's quite rare for them to get together and be with one another. Makes me wonder how close they could actually be after all those years apart before being reunited."
He then heard something click and looked back, seeing Spyro had himself a grenade launcher and a very angry look on his face.
"You are keeping your distance from them, you here?" Spyro asked, the cylinders glowing red hot.
"Oh come on, are they even close?" Discord asked.
"They're plenty close." Applejack said.
"And if not, then this rare visit will definitely be a way for them to focus on their friendship and definitely bring them closer." Discord said. "Unless-"
"Don't even think about it!" Rarity shouted. "They mustn't be disturbed!"
"Disturb them?" Discord asked. "Why I wouldn't dream of it now that I have three friends like you looking after me. My own friends who offered to take care of me. And at such peril. Why this flu of mine is-"
"DON'T!" Spyro shouted. Discord then sneezed, which Spyro created a barrier around Applejack and Rarity while getting hit with it himself.
"Contagious." Discord said, finishing his sentence. Spyro then turned blue, looking down at himself before he ended up sneezing, sending himself flying backwards and releasing red hot flames as the two of them ran to him. "Oh my, I went and got him sick now. Oh, who will I turn to now in my time of need?"
He then smiled and laughed mischievously, knowing exactly who to turn to as he snapped his fingers and disappeared, leaving Spyro sneezing as the two mares ran to him.
"That... that son of a, ah, ah, ah, ACHOO!" Spyro said, releasing a flurry of ice, which both mares ducked and avoided turning into icicles.
"Oh Spyro dear, look what Discord did to you." Rarity said.
"Oh, when my powers heal me, he is so dead!" Spyro said, sneezing again and releasing flames again.
"Ah hear ya hun." Applejack said. "But right now, let's get ya in bed. Ya got a lot of recoverin' to do."
"Forget about me." Spyro said, sneezing again as eletricity shot out of his body and just barely missed them. "When a dragon get's sick, they can't control their powers. Just keep Discord from ruining Twilight and Cadence's quality time."
"They can handle themselves hun." Applejack said. "Right now, we need to get you somewhere to rest. Our place is being funigated for termites thanks to Spyro's little orb."
"He can stay with me at my place." Rarity said. "You go warn Twilight and Cadence about Discord."
Applejack nodded and ran off to warn Twilight about Discord and about what he was up to while Rarity took Spyro back to her place to rest after Discord got him sick. At the Starswirled the bearded museum, Twilight and Cadence were walking through the place, Twilight dressed as Starswirled the Bearded along with other fans who came to see the museum and were looking at all of the exhibits as they went.
"Oh Cadence, today is just a wonderful day!" Twilight said. "A whole entire day to celebrate Star Swirl the bearded! What could be better?"
"Absolutely nothing." Cadence said, looking to an exhibit and running to what appeared to be a candle stick. "Is that the candle stick he used to light the way when he was exploring of Maretania?"
"It sure is." Twilight said. However, a moment later, the candle started to move on it's own and then it changed into Discord, who looked miserable while Twilight and Cadence screamed after being spooked. Discord then sneezed and turned into liquid while causing some hats to start flying, he himself pouring out and reassembling himself while both Twilight and Cadence didn't look very happy to see him. "Discord, what are you doing here!?"
"Oh dear, dear princesses." Discord said. "I am sorry to say, but I'm incredibly sick." He then coughed, forcing them back to avoid being ill as well. "Blue flu."
"Blue Flu!?" Cadence asked
"Yes, and unfortunately I gave it to Spyro." Discord said. "He protected Applejack and Rarity from getting it."
He was getting ready to sneeze again, which Cadence created a bubble around both of them and as he sneezed, they avoided getting it, much to their relief.
"Magic health bubble." Cadence said.
"Good thinking Cadence." Twilight said.
"Indeed." Discord said. "How in the world could Twilight take care of and nurse me back to health if she is also sick? You will be letting me stay until I'm better since Fluttershy will be gone for a while, right?"
"Stay!?" Twilight asked. "With me!?" She then looked to Cadence, clearly not happy with the idea as she looked back to Discord. "Uh, now is not exactly the best time, of course you probably already knew that. But taking in the sick and the desperate, isn't that what Fluttershy would do? Aren't friends supposed to help friends? Unless of course you're saying you aren't my friend."
He then pouted and turned his head away from them both, knowing exactly how to get underneath Twilight's skin as she groaned.
"No, that is not what I'm saying." Twilight said through her teeth, trying not to explode on him.
"Oh, you have no idea how elated I am to hear you say that!" Discord said, slithering around the bubble. "Shall the three of us head back to your place? I don't want anypony else to get sick."
"Like we have much of a choice." Twilight said. "But first I'd like to check up on Spyro, see how he's doing."
Discord then fell off of the bubble, falling apart as he hit the ground and groaned.
"Could you carry me please?" Discord asked.
"It's not really that far Discord." Cadence said. "I think you can manage."
"Oh poop." Discord said, slinking along after them.
Meanwhile at Rarity's, Rarity was bringing up some soup for Spyro, making sure not to make too much noise and when she opened the door, she heard him sneeze, closing the door quickly as she heard rocks flying, opening them to see that there were some pebbles on the ground and a barrier around him to keep his breath attacks from damaging her room.
"How are you feeling darling?" Rarity asked, putting the soup on the nightstand.
"Like I'm going to kill that deformed snake after getting me sick." Spyro said.
"Oh, I know dear." Rarity said, taking a thermometer out and putting it in Spyro's mouth. "But you mustn't let him work you up like that. What you need right now is rest."
"I suppose you're right." Spyro said, sneezing again and this time letting out a torrent of hot water, hitting the barrier before it evaporated. "Ugh, whatever Discord gave me better be gone soon. I hate being sick."
"We all do love." Rarity said, kissing him on the head before getting the spoon and getting some soup for him. "Now open up and say awe."
Spyro did as asked and opened his mouth, Rarity putting the spoon in his mouth, making him eat some food and continuing the process until they heard a knock at the door, seeing that Twilight was coming into the room to check on him.
"Hey Spyro." Twilight said. "How are you feeling?"
"Like crud." Spyro said.
"I hear you there." Twilight said. "Discord said he was sorry for getting you sick and-"
"Well tell Discord that he better be all better before I am." Spyro said. "Because when I'm no longer sick, I'm going to be giving him the last rights. And a few lefts too!"
"Ok then." Twilight said, noting how angry he looked.
"I'm Sorry Twi." Spyro said. "I get very cranky when I'm sick."
"You don't need to apologize Spyro." Twilight said. "I understand how you feel. Unfortunately Discord told me that what he gave you by accident is called Blue Fever. I'm not a hundred percent sure what it is, but Cadence and I will figure out how to cure it."
"No Twilight, don't sacrifice you quality time with Cadence for this." Spyro said, trying to get up.
"No Spyro, you need to rest." Twilight said. "Besides, DIscord's sick, what harm can he do?"
Before he could answer, she walked out of the room, leaving Spyro and Rarity alone in the room with the white unicorn mare getting more soup for him while he laid in bed thinking about something.
"Something's off." Spyro said. "I know Discord's up to something. This illness,m intentionally getting me sick, it doesn't make much sense except to get me out of the picture. What could he be up to?"
"Well, whatever it is, what's more important is getting you back to tip top condition." Rarity said, trying to get him to eat more soup when she got a little dizzy, almost dropping the spoon, but caught herself.
"You sure you're ok Rare?" Spyro asked. "You don't look so good."
"I'm fine darling, really." Rarity replied. "Now, let's get you back on your hooves, shall we?"
She then continued to give him the soup while he remained in bed, not paying attention to what was going on with Rarity as he focused on getting better. Meanwhile at the Golden Oaks Library, Twilight and Cadence were tucking Discord into Twilight's bed, the lavender colored Alicorn not looking very happy with the fact that she was going to take care of Discord while he was sick.
"Is there anything else we can get you?" Twilight asked, clearly not happy.
"Oh, no, not right now." Discord replied as he opened up a drawer on her nightstand to ruffle through it. "Just knowing that I have friends like you to care for me is making me feel better already." The two alicorns then started to leave the room, only stopping when he cleared his throat. "But, before you go, I do have one, little, tiny request, if you don't mind?"
Twilight then sighed out her frustrations, clearly not having it as Cadence put her hoof on her shoulder.
"It'll be alright Twilight." Cadence said. "We'll get him what he wants and be back at the exhibit in no time. I promise." Twilight then looked at Cadence and smiled, nodding at her as they looked to Discord. "So, what do you need exactly?'
[Discord]
A glass of water if you please,
A freshly pressed hanky if I sneeze.
Some tea with honey from the bees,
whenever you can brew it.
"I'll get your tea." Cadence said, walking away, which Discord then used his magic to get back in the bed and snuggle up in the blankets.
[Discord]
And whileI get a little rest,
A teeny tiny small request,
Some codfishoilformy chest,
Poured froma crystal cruet.
"Acrystal cruet?" Twilight asked, clearly confused as Cadence came back with a teapot.
[Discord]
My goodness, I'm a nincompoop,
Because I fear I've got the croup!
I need a vat of pumpkin soup,
And scarves made out of zinnias!
Twilight and Cadence then tried to brew the soup that Discord needed, but he picked up the pot and poured a bunch of flours on tope of them.
Did I say zinnias? I meant silk.
Or something shiny of that ilk.
And then I'll need some nice warm milk,
And pastries from Abyssinia!
And since my stomach's feeling crummy,
Why not give my aching tummy,
Something soothing, something yummy!
Piled up with noodles?
Add a slice of homemade rye,
With stacks of Swiss way up high,
Served with sides of sweet mince pie!
"Anything else?" Twilight asked, getting more and more annoyed due to all of Discords antics from getting covered with noodles to all the other randomness.
[Discord]
And due to all the thing that happen short and tall,
The authors far to lazy to type it all.
A moment later, a paint brush appeared right behund his head, painting a Psy bolter behind him and the trigger slowly being pulled as Discord started to turn around.
Honestly it's all in good and fun,
SWEET CELESTIA HE'S GOT A GUN!
He then ducked and the bolter fired, just missing him as it left a single line going down the middle of his head and leaving a perfect line of burning hair and skin there as he snapped his fingers hastily and made it disappear.
"Definitely an Amaerican." Discord said before getting blasted by a cannon, Twilight and cadence looking at in in surprise and wondering where it came from. "I deserved that."
"Gee, you think?" Twilight asked.
[Discord]
I'll be grateful for your charity,
Until the bitter end,
Because I've heard that tenderness,
Is what you lend an ailing friend!
"Tenderness", isn't that right, friend?
"Right, but—" Twilight tried to say before being interrupted.
[Discord]
So, who's ready for my big reprise?
I'd like that glass of water, please,
Some magic spell to cure disease,
A firm "gesundhoof" when I sneeze.
A fresh bouquet of roses,
Some lozenges will soon appease,
My wheezing when I start to sneeze,
A wig to keep me from the breeze,
And blankets for my toes-es!
Take tweezers out of my valise,
And then massage my knobby knees,
A bowl of peas, some extra cheese,
A cuddle with a Pekingese!
A singing harp who's named Louise,
A goat on skis, a new trapeze,
And more and more and more and more of these!
And just because I oughta...
Make sure I'm drinking in the right,
Amount of fluids day and night,
I wish I may I wish I might!
Have just one little thing,
Oh, would you please finally bring,
Me that tiny glass,
Of water.
Discord was finished with his song, he fell back into the bed, which he then started coughing as he was back in bed while Twilight and Cadence looked annoyed, completely drenched from Discord's finale and getting drenched with a tidal wave of water, giving him his glass of water, which he took happily and tried to drink it, but the glass fell out of his hand, looking down and smiling.
"Oopsie." Discord said. "Sorry."
He then sneezed again, turning into bubbles, annoying Twilight even more as she face smacked herself.
"This is completely ridiculous." Twilight sid, looking to Cadence. "Even when he's sick he's such an annoyance."
"Discord, how did you even catch this disease?" Cadence asked as Discord sprayed something on his paw with a germ on the outside with a red circle around it and a red line through it.
"Well, it's due to me not properly washing my hoof and claw." Discord replied as Twilight looked through her books for something.
"There has to be something to cure this illness." Twilight said, looking through the books. "A spell, a cure, or something."
"Actually, there is one way." Discord said happily.
"And you didn't mention this before?" Cadence asked, clearly annoyed.
"It kinda slipped my mind." Discord said, using his finger to create a small cloud that revealed a flower. "On a hill at the very edge of Equestria, there is an exquisite Magic Flower that you will need to pick as it's petals fall at sunset. From those petals, you can use them to make a powerful magical elixir to cure the Blue Flu."
"Why do I have like you could have gotten the flower when you got this illness, but didn't bother to?" Twilight asked.
"Well, in my condition, I couldn't travel that far and then I'd be an easy target for all those Heartless." Discord said.
"But, there hasn't been a Heartless attack in Equestria for months." Cadence said.
"Yeah, kinda spooky." Twilight said.
"And i would also have been too weak to even retrieve the flower myself." Discord said.
"And where exactly are Cadence and I heading?" Twilight asked, wanting to get the flower so Discord could be out of her hair.
A second later, Discord appeared next to her wearing a tourist outfit with a sucker in his mouth and holding a map
"Well, you'll want to head north." Discord said. "Then you'll take a left at... you know what, it might be easier if I took you there myself."
Discord then turned the map into a paper hat, putting it on Twilight's head just to annoy her.
"I thought you were too sick to travel?" Cadence asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not." Discord said. "We'll need to make some... 'arrangements' to get there."
Discord then chuckled a bit, both of the alicorns not liking where this was going. Meanwhile with Spyro, he was asleep to get over the illness that Discord ended up giving him, whether it was by accident or intentional, he was clearly angry with Discord for making him sick. As he was sleeping, he started to grimmace, his face scrunching as he slept while inside of his mind, he saw that he was in what appeared to be an egyptian tomb with statues of anubis around him, looking around and seeing that it he was in the middle of what appeared to be Egyptian Asps, freaking out as he backed away from them, a light shining behind him and made him turn around to see what it was, seeing a golden crate with angelic wings on the top of the lid connected to one another and all sorts of symbols and hieroglyphs that he never saw before. Before he could try and understand what it was, he was then pulled backwards back to the center of the room, hearing screaming as he saw a woman in a white dress trying to keep the Asps away with a dying torch while Rainbow Dash and one other had their torches out, trying to keep them back, shifting to them moving across a statue before Rainbow Dash screamed in pain, falling towards the Asps, which he instictively reached for her before an Asp lunged for him, freaking him out and making him yell in fear as he woke up, breathing heavily before realizing it was just a dream, or more like a vision.
"Spyro dear, are ypou alright?" Rarity asked, flippiung on the light.
"Yeah, yeah I'm good." Spyro replied, rubbing his eyes. "Just a dream I guess."
"Spyro, you're coat." Rarity said, Spyro looking down and seeing he was back to normal.
"Ha!" Spyro exclaimed, getting out of the bed. "Oh yeah! It's pay back time! Now where's that overgrown Iguana!?"
"I'm just glad you're ok Spyro love." Rarity said. "But..."
"But what?" Spyro asked.
"Well, Twilight came here before she left." Rarity said. "She said that she, Cadence, and Discord were going to the edge of Equestria to get a flower to make a brew to cure Discord and get him to leave Twilight and Cadence alone."
A second later, Spyro's eye started to twitch, feeling his blood pressure about to burst as a guage that was used by doctors to check a patients blood pressure appeared, the needle going until it reached the red zone that said 'RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!' on it.
"How long ago did they leave?" Spyro asked.
"After an hour ago." Rarity replied. "Saying that they needed to get there before sunset. Said they were going north and-"
"And I can track her from there." Spyro said, walking out. "Thanks Rare. I'll take it from here."
He then gave her a peck on the cheek and left the house, Rarity watching him leave as she hoped that nothing happened. Elsewhere on the outskirts of Equestria, Twilight and Cadence were pulling a chariot made of gold, both princesses grunting as they pulled the chariot along, which Cadence was struggling the most.
"You doing ok there Cadence?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah, I'll be alright." Cadence replied. "Just a little out of practice when it comes to flying."
"Well it's your lucky day then!" Discord said, looking down. "Because we're here."
The two princesses then started to descend to the ground and near a pathway right as the sun was setting, landing the golden chariot right at the foot of a hill.
"Alright Discord, where's the flower at?" Twilight asked.
"It's at the top of that hill." Discord said, pointing to the hill in front of them. "Shouldn't be too difficult to see. It's the only one there."
The two princesses then started to walk up the hill towards where the flower was at, Twilight feeling aweful that their day of spending quality time was ruined.
"I'm so sorry Cadence." Twilight said. "About all of this. I really, really wanted us to spend some quality time together, filled with peace and quiet. Not all of this."
"That's alright Twilight." Cadence said. "I was also looking forward to this. Still, we have tomorrow. Besides, I want to see Spyro's foals."
They both giggled and continued to walk up to the top of the hill and when they reached the top, they tried to look for the flower, but found nothing.
"Well, this is the top, but where's the flower?" Twilight asked. A moment later, she got covered by a massive flower petal, Cadence using her magic to remove the petal, both looking up and seeing the massive flower. "Oh, ok then. That explains why he said we couldn't miss it. Come on, if we hurry, we can still have some time together."
The then used their magic together to try and lift the flower, combining all of their strength together as they lifted the flower up, making the ground crack around the flower, pulling with all their strength until they managed to pull the entire massive flower up from the ground, both panting as they got it put of the ground.
"Well, that was pretty difficult." Cadence said.
"It'll all be worth it to get Discord off our backs." Twilight said. "Come on, if we hurry and get both this flower and Discord back, we'll have enough time to get back to the museum."
However, a moment later, the ground started to chake, making them all look to the ground and from it, a massive purple worm like monster with a red colar of fur and a pink head that had a mouth that opened three ways and two eyes on each section of the head. It looked at them and then roared in rage, trying to eat them, but they flew out of the way, avoiding getting chomped on as they climbed up into the air to avoid it, but the creature retreated into the ground and then shot intot he air, opening it's mouth as several tendrils shot out trying to get them, one of them wrapping around Cadence's leg and pulling her to it's mouth.
"Twilight!" Cadence shouted, getting her attention.
"Hey, get your coils off my sister-in-law!" Twilight shouted.
She then got her Lightsaber out and ignited both sides, throwing the blade and it cut the coil, making it screech in pain as it fell to the ground, but it then got back up and released more coils, catching Twilight and making her scream as she tried to free herself from the monster, the beast ready to eat her when Cadence came down and hit it with her magic, forcing it to left her go as Cadence glarred at the monster.
"Leave my sister-in-law alone!" Cadence shouted as she hit it with another beam of magic, giving twilight enough time to get to her.
"Thanks Cadence." Twilight said.
"Don't thank em yet." Cadence said.
The worm then leapt back towards them, ready to eat them when a massive fire ball came out of nowhere and hit it in the side, making it screech as it wiggled around to put the flames out. Both alicorn princesses looked to the right and saw Spyro levitating there, a red and purple aura surrounding him as his eyes were glowing red and blue.
"Spyro!" Twilight said.
"Twilight, Cadence, get clear!" Spyro shouted.
Both alicorns flew out of the way as the worm got back up, ready to eat as two orbs of energy were formed in his hooves, a red orb in his right hoof and a purple one in his left, the symbol for fire in the red orn while the symbol for darkness was in the purple one. he then slammed both orbs together and they started to combine, going into his chest as his eyes turned purple again, except this time purple flames came out of his eyes as he flew into the air and he spread his wings, dark flames appearing on the rim of his wings as he unleashed a torrent of dark flames that turned into a dragon head, roaring out with glowing yellow eyes as they hit the worm, making it screeched in pain as it moved to the hole it came from, both princesses using their magic to help drive it back into the ground before covering the hole again with a bunch of massive rocks. Spyro then used the same flames and melted the rocks, sealing the hole as the beast tried to come back out to get them, but the rocks wouldn't budge, everyone relaxing as the flames on Spyro died away.
"That was too close." Twilight said.
"You're telling me." Spyro said. "Good thing I came looking for you ladies when I got better. Speaking of, you both ok?"
"Yeah, we're alright." Twilight replied.
"Better than alright." Cadence said.
"Right, so let's get Discord and the flower back to Ponyville, make that elixir and finally spend some quality time together." Twilight said.
"Elixir?" Spyro asked.
"Yeah, for Discord's illness." Wilight replied, showing the flower. "The petals from this flower can make an elixir that can cure the Blue Flu."
"Uh Twilight, there's no such thing as Blue Flu." Spyro saisd, surprising them.
"Wait, are you serious?" Twilight asked.
"I had AIVA pull up everything on a illness called Blue Flu and there's no such thing." Spyro replied.
"Wait, we did all this, put our lives in danger for a cure for an illness that doesn't even exist!?" Twilight shouted, a vain appearing in her head as she looked angry.
"To the ends of Equestria, to face such danger, and she did it all for me!" Discord said, everyone looking to see he was healthy and fine, dancing around with a hat on his head. "For me! For me!"
"Are... you... serious!?" Twilight shouted, zipping down and getting in Discords face. "You... were... faking!? This entire time, this Blue Flu, it was a fake illness!?"
"I was, but I had a very good reason." Discord said, setting her down gently.
"You better, or so help me, I got a missle with your name on it!" Spyro said.
"Do you?" Discord asked, pulling the side away to see a missile with his name on it and looked ot the reader. "He does indeed." He then let go of the page, letting it fall as he looked back to the three of them. "You see, I was in my thinking tree..." A moment later, a tree grew and he was hanging from it, the three of them looking at him. "That's where I do some of my deep thinking."
"Yeah, thinking ways of making us miserable!" Spyro shouted.
"Don't interrupt." Discord said. "See, I was there and I was thinking to myself, 'Discord, your friend Twilight says she's your pal, but she never writes and doesn;t pop in for a visit. And your pal Spyro never takes you on any of the adventures outside of Equestria, after promising to take you on one.'"
"Oh yeah, that did slip my mind." Spyro said.
"The reason I don't write is because I don't even know where you live!" Twilight said, Discord pinching her lips.
"Let me finish." Discord said. "So I thought to myself that now that you're a princess, you're too good for me."
"I never considered myself too good for anyone." Twilight said.
"And how was I supposed to know for sure that I was truly, still friends with one of the most important ponies around?" Discord asked.
"Maybe drop in every now and then, hang around with us like normal ponies and not put us in extremely dangerous situations!?" Spyro asked. "Seriously, I have never been so ticked off in my life."
"I know." Discord said. "Seriously, you're little cussing episode back at the train station was a dead give away."
"I'm not more-" Twilight tried to say before Discord picked her up with his tail and got on her nerves.
"So I decided to see if you were still my friend by seeing if you would go to the ends of Equestria for me!" Discord said excitedly. "Which you did." He then started to shake her hoof happily. "Congratulations! You passed my friendship test!" He then gave her a necklace that was half of a heart, on her half was discord and the other half he had with an image of her, but his talon was in front of her face, but she wa furious, glarring at him as he waved a flag around. "Oh, why the angry eyes? I thought you loved passing tests? I hope it's not because my exam put a damper on your visit with Princess Cadence is it? Making it so that there was no time for you two to focus on your friendship?"
"That's it!" Spyro said, getting his bracers open and getting the missile ready. "Time for a lesson you won't forget!"
"You didn't put a damper on my visit at all." Cadence said, surprising everyone there.
"Wait what?" Spyro asked.
"He didn't?" Twilight asked.
"I didn't?" Discord asked.
"A day walking around and visiting the Star Swirl the Bearded exhibit would have been a bit more relaxing, but to be honest, relaxationw as the last thing I needed." Cadence said, surprising them.
"It is?" Twilight and Spyro asked, the young hybrid putting his bracers away.
"Life in the Crystal Empiure is wonderful and all, but it's become a little... predictable." Cadence said. "I enjoy a little excitement every now and then. Getting to face these challenges today and getting to fight that monster, that was exactly what I needed."
"Eh, no argument here." Spyro said. "Nothing like a good adrenaline rush every now and then."
"And facing them with you Twilight has made me realize even more how lucky I am to have somepony like you and Spyro as friends." Cadence said. "And as my in-law and future in-law."
Cadence and twilight then hugged, happy to be witn one another while Spyro just smiled, watching them hug while Discord looked annoyed, crossing his arms as he looekd at them.
"You actually did a good thing today Discord." Spyro said, surprising him as he looked up. "Good work."
"I think I need to clean my ears out." Discord said, pulling a massive ball of wax out of his ears. "Because I swear you just compliment me after you threatened to give me what you called 'the last rights.'"
"And a few lefts to." Spyro said, looking back at the two princesses.
"We may not see each other very much or very often, but I know you'll always be there when I need you." Cadence said before they all looked at Discord. "Just like she was there for you Discord."
"Yeah, she's a real sweetheart, isn't she?" Discord asked. "We're so luck to have her in our lives."
"Sounds like someone's jealous." Spyro said.
A moment later, the ground started to shake again and the worm shot out, trying to eat them as they backed up and Discord was hanging from Twilight's neck.
"What in the world!?" Discord exclaimed.
The creature then blew it's cheeks up as if getting ready to puke or spit at them, which Spyro immediatly rushed to the princess as hshe created a barrier around them, but the worm spat at them and hit Discord before slowly falling back into the hole it made, the barrier falling before Discord turned green with polka dots covering him, making Spyro laugh and wheeze like a tea kettle on a hot stove, falling to the ground laughing at what happened.
"Look out folks, because karma's in the house!" Spyro said, continuing to laugh while Discord looked miserable.
The next day, they were all at Fluttershy's cottage, everyone was there, taking care of Discord, even Cadence who wanted to help out bu making a health bubble around him to make sure that no one got sick again while Twilight was having Spike write int he journal while Rarity and Applejack walked up to Discord.
"Ah don't wanna go and say ya didn't get what ya deserved." Applejack said.
"Well I have no problem saying it." Rarity said. "You got what you deserved!"
"Now, now, he's learned his lesson, isn't that right my little patient?" Fluttershy asked, having gotten back and agreeing to take care of Discord.
"Well, I better get going." Cadence said. "I need to get back to the Crystal Empire."
"Without saying hello or goodbye to these two little fillies?" Spyro asked, walking in with Rosy and Midnight.
As soon as Cadence saw them, her heart instantly melted as she ran over and picked them both up.
"Oh, they're so adorable!" Cadence said, blowing raspberries on their bellies and making them laugh.
"I'm just glad you're back from your trip Fluttershy." Discord said. "Having you hear makes me so much better." A moment later as Cadence was playing with Midnight, Rosy crawled over to the bubble Discord was in, hitting it before giggling a bit and getting Discords attention. "Oh, she's adorable. What's her name?"
"Rosy Hearts." Spyro replied. A moment later, Rosy put her hoof on the bubble, laughing a bit as she looked to Discord, though she couldn't see, she knew he was there. "Guess she likes you."
"She... likes me?" Discord asked in surprise, looking down at Rosy who wanted to play with her.
"She's Force sensitive." Spyro said. "Guess she can tell you're a good guy, for the most part."
Discord was touched by the fact that a filly liked him, looking to Rosy who wanted to go to Discord, but the bubble kept her from getting in for her own health, making Discord smile as his heart melted before putting his paw on the bubble where her hoof was.
"Aw, you're so precious." Discord said with a smile. "Don't worry, Uncle Discord won't let anything happen to you." A moment later, he snapped his fingers and a small necklace appeared with his image on it while the other half had an unobscured image of her, smiling at the filly. "I promise."
Spyro was surprised at how Discord instantly liked Rosy, smiling at the Draconequus as he started to make funny faces, nothing too scary as he started to play with Rosy, relieved to see how much Discord had changed as he went over and sat with her, playing with his adopted daughter as they all laughed and had fun in peace.
