Chapter 3

Christmas vacation had ended and the teens returned to finish out the school year. To protect the Healer she was enrolled in school as a teenager. The four soon met up for lunch at a table. They discussed the situation on how to get the Avengers back together so they could rescue Tony from the dimension.

Peter suggested, "Maybe you could open a portal to the other realities and have my two counter parts come back to help us?" He looked to Eddy.

She shrugged. "They may not want to help. I cannot overcome free will."

Ned wondered, "Would there be another reality where we could recruit other versions of the Avengers to come help us?"

"Free will." she reminded him.

MJ added "Think about it, Ned. If another version of you came here and asked you to go risk your life in another reality to stop Thanos, would you do it?"

"I guess it depends on how bad the situation is. I mean, if I didn't have to go, I wouldn't." he agreed.

One of Peter's rivals walked by. He had darker skin and yellow hair on top of his friend. "I see you got a new friend, Parker." He referred to Eddy.

"Just mind your own business, Flash." he replied as the boy walked by.

Eddy smirked. "Flash! You know that movie with the sloth that works in the DMV? Zootpia."

MJ recalled. "I love that movie. It was so cute."

She pointed out, "He looks like the sloth."

MJ cocked her head and looked towards Flash. A grinned crept across her face. "He does." She started to giggle.

Peter asked, "What movie and what sloth?"

She brought up the cartoon character on her phone. "Flash from the movie looks like our Flash." she laughed.

Peter couldn't help but laugh. "Wow, that sloth looks like Flash."

Ned looked at the cartoon. "That's funny."

"Laughing is good for you." Eddy told them. "Humor is more powerful than you realize."

Peter admitted. "I got a good laugh out of that. I needed it too." he admitted. "I wonder if there is a reality where Aunt Mae survived."

Eddy stated, "Realities can be exactly the same or very different. In one reality you can look exactly like yourself and in another, you maybe female. Think of your body as an avatar and reality as a simulation. The avatar only knows what it's told but on the other side is a consciousness controlling everything about you."

"I'm not sure I understand that." Peter confessed.

Ned asked, "You mean life is a video game?"

"Kind of." she nodded. "You see, in order to learn and grow one must be exposed to challenges and must fail. If you were a great success at everything you did you would not learn or grow. Kind of like a game."

"This game sucks if you ask me." Peter told her.

"The game ends." she reminded him. "For everyone. Except me. I'm stuck here."

Peter pondered her situation. "I guess that would suck too."

Ned tried to get the conversation back on topic. "Okay, who of the Avengers are still alive?" He rattled off, "Captain America is still alive."

MJ stated, "He's like old now. And his wife just died."

Eddy stated, "I can reverse age. That's not an issue."

Ned wrote down the Captain to the list. "What about the Hulk?"

"No one knows where he is." Peter stated. "I guess Thor went back home."

"I can get us to Asgard." Eddy reminded them.

Ned wrote down Thor's name.

"Hawkeye?" Peter asked.

"He's alive." Ned agreed. "The black widow died."

MJ stated, "I think getting Thor and Captain American would be a good start. Maybe we can get Hawkeye too."

Eddy suggested, "We should start with the Captain first. I can reverse the aging."

Ned grinned, "Let go visit Cap after school."

After School

The teens met up on the roof top. Ned mentioned, "I wish I had that ring again. I could make a portal right to Caps house."

Eddy asked, "You could make portals?"

"When I had the ring." he nodded.

She informed, "Then you can do it without the ring too. Artifacts are just training wheels."

"I don't think I can do it without the ring." he disagreed.

Peter asked, "Can you make portals, Eddy?"

"Certainly." She removed a package of candy from her pocket and ate it down. "Just need some fuel."

MJ mentioned, "Boy I wish I had that ability. I could eat all the candy I wanted and not gain weight."

She admitted, "I'm rather sick of candy to be honest. Fruit actually works better but it takes longer to get it down." She then started to hum a tune and sway slightly.

Ned asked, "What are you doing?"

"Music helps me make portals and spells." she replied. "Dream a little dream of me." she sang and as made a circular motion with one hand.

Instead of a yellow glowing circle the portal opened with a blue glowing ring.

Peter noticed, "You're portals are blue?"

She nodded, "The stone is blue. Everything is blue now. I damn near pee blue." On the other side of the portal was a house in a middle class neighborhood. The four walked through the portal closed behind them.

They soon heard a familiar voice. "I figured you would come here." It was Dr. Strange. He stood near the side of the home. He walked over to the teens and Eddy. "Cap will not remember you, Peter. Not until Eddy lifts the spell." He looked to Eddy, "What are your plans?"

"I'm juiced up. Ring the doorbell. Tell him I'm selling cookies and introduce myself. If I can get him to shake my hand I can get left the spell and de-age him at the same time and be careful to not turn him back into that little guy he used to be." She then added, "He may recognize me. I was in World War Two. I was a pilot ferrying planes and men."

Stephan stated, "Let's go with the cookie sales first. I will watch from here." He then watched as the four walked up to the front door and rang the bell. He slowly made his way closer to the group.

Steve Rodgers opened the door. He was much older with gray hair and a wrinkled face. He wore tan slacks and a cream colored shirt. He looked upon the four faces. "Can I help you kids?"

Peter spoke up. "We're selling cookie for high school band. Would be interesting in buying a few boxes?"

He pondered, "I suppose. If I order the cookies can they be dropped off at the youth center. I don't want them for myself."

"Sure!" Peter told him. "Mr. Rodgers. Do you by any chance remember me?"

"I can't say I do." he drew a black through the boy seemed familiar.

Eddy spoke up. "Thank you for ordering our cookies, Mr. Rodgers. I'm Eddy. Can I shake your hand as a thank you, sir?" She held out her hand. "Not many people want to buy cookies from us." she excused.

"I'm glad to help out the band." he shook her hand. He found an odd sensation coming from the handshake as he was soon over taken by a soothing warm feeling.

"I have the body." Eddy stated going into the trance.

The teens gasped as Steve Rodger reversed in age before their eyes. He soon looked just like Peter remembered. The wrinkles had melted away. His hair turned blonde once more. The memory of Peter as Spiderman soon returned.

Eddy released the hand and her knees buckled. It took more energy than she imagined. Stephan Strange ran up and caught her before she fell and held her in one arm. He then drew a tube of glucose from his pocket, Bit off the cap and then started to squeeze the sugar in her mouth.

"I knew it was getting too much on her." he stated. "We need to get her inside, Cap."

"Stephan." he opened the door wide. "Peter!" he gasped wondering how he forgot Peter in the first place.

"Nice to have you back, Cap." Peter stated as the teens helped Eddy into the house.

Rodgers closed the door. "Take her to the living room." he instructed. He then spied his face in the hallway mirror. He gasped, "What the!?" He then followed them into the living room. "What's going on?" he asked.

Dr. Strange had then pulled a blood sugar meter and grasped Eddy's finger as she seemed to not be bouncing back as fast as before. He poked her finger, drew blood and ran the test. "Her blood sugar level is down to forty. She pushing it too hard." he declared. He grasped another bottle of glucose and began to squeeze it in her mouth.

Steve asked, "Is she diabetic?"

"Kind of." Stephan stated. "You have any orange juice?"

He nodded.

"Get some and add a few spoonfuls of sugar to it." he requested.

Steve quickly went to the kitchen to get the sugar.

MJ asked, "Is she going to be okay?"

"She been pushing herself too hard. Between the portal and what she did for Captain Rodgers it was more than what a single candy bar could cover." he then declared. "She needs to pull back and rest."

Eddy started to come around. "Did I pass out?" she wondered.

"Yes!" Dr. Strange declared.

Steve waked back into the room. "Here's the orange juice."

Dr. Strange took the glass and helped Eddy remain steady as she sipped the juice.

She stated, "I'm okay. I just over did it a little."

Ned stated concerned. "Maybe we are pushing you too hard, Eddy."

"I'm pushing me. Not you, Ned." she assured him. She looked at Steve, "Hey! You're back!"

"How did this happen?" he asked Dr. Strange.

He explained, "Eddy has the ability to heal, reverse aging and lift spells. We asked her to make you young again."

"Why?" he wondered.

"We need the Avengers." he declared.

"There isn't anything left." he reminded him.

"We were wrong about the stones. Tony Stark and Thanos are both still alive." he informed.

"Where?" he grew alarmed.

"In a dimension." he explainable. "Once we open the dimension to retrieve Tony, Thanos will be come back too. That is why we need the Avengers. To contain Thanos when we rescue Stark."

Eddy asked, "Will you help us?"

"Of course." he agreed. He squinted. "You know. You look a lot like this little racing pilot that used to fly us around."

"That was me." she confessed.

"Jackie?" he asked.

"I went by Jackie then." she nodded. "I was racing airplanes before the war broke out."

"Bucky had such a crush on you." he mentioned.

"Bucky was playboy." she shook her head.

"Boy did he like you though." he told her. "How did you do this? And why have you not aged? You should be my age."

Ned stated, "She's way older than you, Cap."

"What?" he stood befuddled.

Stephan Strange explained. "Eddy is a healer and the last princess from Atlantis."

"Atlantis!" he gasped.

"She was exposed to the tuaoi stone and absorbed it's power. She is immortal due to that exposure. But, as you can see she is suffering side effects." he informed.

She finished the juice and handed him back the glass. "Thank you for the juice, Captain Rodgers. I'm still feeling a bit off."

He asked, "Can I get you anything else?"

"Cake if you got it." she requested.

Dr. Strange shook his head for it was a bad choice of glucose.

Ned confessed "I wish I had your disability, Eddy. I could eat candy and cake all day."

"Ice cream will also do." she informed.

"I have some ice cream in the freezer." Steve told her. He looked at Stephan. "Getting the gang back together first, huh?"

"As much as possible." he agreed.

"Too bad we lost Natasha." he sighed.

Eddy asked, "How did she die?"

"She sacrificed herself to get the soul stone. She fell to her death." Steve told her.

"She had the stone when she died?" she asked.

Steve nodded. "She did."

"Hmm…" she puckered in thought.

Peter stated "Tell me there is a way to undo it, Eddy?"

"The stones will transfer a conscious mind to the dimension that Stark and Thanos are in. She still exist. She can likely interact with them there." she explained. "It will be much easier to pull her out than Stark and Thanos. It's simply just her mind that is there. Not her whole body. I just need a clone to download her into." She then asked, "Anyone save any DNA?"

Dr Strange stated, "I think they did."
