Emperor's Coven
"I best let the Emperor know about this." Lilith thought as she left the room.
"Well Lilith how does the hunt for the owl lady go?" a voice said.
Lilith immediately wanted to scream but said, "Fine Kikimora tho we may have a more pressing matter to deal with."
This gained Kikimora's attention and she asked, "What are you talking about."
"It seems my sister saw a mermaid not that far from her house and with the information we got earlier about a ship in the waters catching fish only to throw them back." Lilith said, walking away. "Well not hard to see the connection."
"I see your point, this does require our attention more so than your sister." Kiki said following Lilith. "I think the Emperor will want to know this sooner rather than later."
Just as the two were about to turn the corner a few guards came through looking like they had been through a war.
Lilith looked and Kikimora then back at the guards then said, "Let me guess Eda's bird tube thing right."
The guards looked at each other then one of them answered, "Not quite, we were changing that human girl that the owl lady has and when we got close to catching her we lost her."
"Okay so not only did you fail at catching the owl lady you failed to catch one human child." Kiki said. "It's starting to sound like I need to modify the train regiment."
"But then how are you beat up like this if the human got away, I highly doubt my sister would care to hurt you like this." Lilith questioned.
"That's what we were looking for you for." one of the guards said. "We ran into a group of fisherman on our way back and overheard them talking about how they may have found the place where all the mermaids are hiding."
"So we thought we should tell you right away but as we were one our back we got too close to a monster's home and they didn't like the fact that one of its littles ones was hurt."
"Okay thank you for telling me." Lilth said quickly walking past.
"You all are quite lucky to have found some useful information." Kiki said, turning away. "For I had plans to feed you to my pets. But instead go get healed up then report to training, you having been out run by a child doesn't sit well with me."
Lilith quickly made her way to the throne room and knocked on the door.
"You may enter." a voice said.
Lilith entered the throne room to see that the Golden guard was bowing to Belos. Lilith walked over next the golden guard and knelt, then said, "Sorry Emperor Belos but some more information has come in about the fishing ships."
"You mean those that we suspected without evidence." the Golden guard commented.
Lilith glared at the boy, "You were saying Lilith." Belos said, stopping the two from starting an argument.
"Well some of the guards came back and over heard about how a ship might have found the hideout of the mermaids and my sister, not liking my chosen path, called me to tell me she saw a mermaid near the shore close to her home."
"You're right to tell me this Lilith." Belos said, taking a seat on the throne. "Lilith I'm putting off catching the Owl Lady for now. I need you to look more into this fishing ship, we need to know everything about them before they find another Mermaid."
"Understood." Lilith agreed.
"And have Kikimora take a ship out to sea to be on the lookout for more pirates." Belos ordered.
"Yes, my Emperor." Lilith said getting up and walking out of the throne room.
"Oh and Lilith." Belos said, stopping Lilith from leaving.
"Yes?" Lilith asked, wondering what Belos wanted.
"Tell Kikimora that any one on sea's that refuses to allow her to check they cargo, she may do as she please." Belos said.
"I'm sure Kiki will be pleased with your decision." Lilith said bowing before she left the room leaving the golden guard alone with the empire.
Once Lilith was gone the Golden guard said, "Why send them you know I can easily take care of any task given to me."
"Yes, you can but I have not forgotten the last time you encounter a mermaid." Belos said.
The golden guard looked down but then returned his gaze back to Belos and explained, "I was young and inexperienced at the time."
"Yes, you were but there is also the fact that when it comes to getting information Lilith is able to gain more than even our best spy's." Belos explained while getting up from this throne. "And Kikimora is easy to understand, give her a bit of freedom and she'll show true respect."
"I still think sending me would be better." The Golden guard mumbled.
Belos sighed then said, "We all have our roles to play Hunter, don't worry the Titin still has plans for you. But first, why don't you go make sure Kikimora doesn't kill more of our guards."
"Yes sir." Hunter said, leaving the throne room. "Or maybe I can prove to you how much more useful I am by finding the mermaids for you." Hunter then ran down the corridor believing he knew just what to do to prove himself.
"You know he's not going to listen to you and leave it at that right?" a voice in the shadows said.
"As much as I would love to tell you you're wrong," Belos said back. "You're not, hopefully whatever he does doesn't make things worse."
