A/N: the chapter is shorter than normal which is why I'm giving you two chapter instead of just one.
"Emperor Belos, Sorry for being late again." Lilith apologized walking into the room with the scout she had caught earlier in a bubble.
"Is there a reason why that scout is in a bubble while encased in ice." Kiki questioned hoping that they were spy she could torture.
Lilith smiled then said, "Why yes there is, and it's your lucky day Kikimora." Lilith placed the scout down and popped the bubble. "As I was on my way back from my sisters, I found this scout selling information about the mermaid Edalyn saw over a crow. I've yet to find out who the buyer was, but something tells me Kikimora could find out without breaking a sweat."
Belos got up from his throne and walked over to the scout causing him to shake in fear for his life, "Kiki why don't you show our scout here your special training course and see if it helps him remember who they should be loyal too and or fear."
"As you command my Emperor." Kiki said with some joy in her voice.
As Kikimora took the scout out of the throne room, the Scout looked as if he was trying to say something in order to get out of his punishment.
"Now then back to the matter at hand." Belos stated retaking his seat in front of the Tatin heart. "What have you learned about your sister's interaction with the mermaid?"
Lilith sighed then explained, "Edalyn's apprentice Luz is only half mermaid on her mother's side. Wish is why she's easily able to blend in with humans and or be confused with one."
"Even if she's only half mermaid, it's probably for the best that we take her in for her own protection." Hunter suggested.
Lilith chuckled then explained, "I offered our protection, but she would rather stay with Edalyn. Stating that her being brought here would just expose her to the dangers we're trying to protect her from."
"Your sister is a wild witch." Hunter claimed stepping closer to the Emperor. "We can't allow…"
"Yes, she is a wild witch," Lilith interrupted. "But the point still stands, if we bring her here there will be questions, and I doubt we can tell the people that she chose to come here to join us. Most of the Ilis knows that Eda is training her, and Edalyn has made her idea about joining a coven clear."
"Which makes my point even more clear." Hunter argued. "She is a mermaid under the influence of a women that has broken the law multiple times and escaped capture."
"Maybe so but the girl is fourteen years old and doesn't have the best image of us considering what has happened around her even without Edalyn's involvement." Lilith quickly explained. "Plus, again us bring her here would put her in danger, I just brought in a scout that was going to sell her out for a profit. We have no idea who is on our side considering Luz has enemies that would love to exploit her. And that's before anyone knows what she is. I say we keep this under wraps until we know who will keep her safe or just wants more of a reason to harm her."
"You can't be serious?" Hunter questioned.
Belos thought for a moment then said, "Alright the girl will stay with the Owl lady for the time being, but I want you to make regular visit to check in on them.
"We all do respect Emperor I can…" Hunter suggested.
"No Lilith already goes there for her sister, it won't be suspicious if she shows up there." Belso quickly said. "Both of you are to keep the intel on the mermaids to the three in the room only, I'll tell Kikimore of this later, and if one of the mermaids that's been seen around the coast wishes to speak to you then I give you permission to act as a repressive. I would like to have a better relationship with them considering they have knowledge that has been lost for eons."
"Understood." Both Lilith & Hunter said in unison.
Once Lilith left the throne room, Belos saw that Hunter was still there and asked, "What is it, Hunter?"
"How can we trust the Owl Lady to keep the mermaid safe." Hunter questioned loudly removing he's mask. "She's a criminal."
"A criminal that you've pointed out has evaded capture for years." Belos explained. "Then there's the fact that forcibly bringing in a mermaid is the last thing we need. Our reputation with the mermaids is bad enough they found out we brought one of their own here and all of Titan could be unleashed."
"Fine." Hunter said, putting his mask back on.
"Hunter! You are to stay away from the Owl House along with the girl!" Belos ordered. "And that's not a suggestion this time."
Hunter walked out of the throne room then quickly made his way to he's chambers and slammed the door shut. "Sorry uncle but this is too important to leave it to the Owl Lady or Lilith." he quickly gathered a few things and next moment jumped out the window and made a beeline for the Owl house.
