Owl House
Lilith looked over the documents that Eda had given to her then said, "I can't believe it. They found an old potion that's supposed to grant the person immortality, and the main ingredient is a mermaid's blood or heart."
"Yeah, but it makes me a little skeptical because of the wording used." Eda said, rereading the potions intrusions. "Blood, heart or scale and the being shall live immortality like the Sea coral." Eda gave Lilith the paper. "Seems a little vague if you ask me."
"Maybe, but if this is what the pirates are after then you might want to have Luz under surveillance." Lilith said, gathering the papers up. "Speaking of you should probably give her the surveillance you have on the school, if Bump hasn't found all the concealed spells."
"I'm already ahead of you." Eda stated. "The moment I found out about her other side. I gave her the code and a scroll. If anyone, not a student goes close to the school she'll know, and she has our numbers if anything happens."
"Good." Lilith said, walking over to the door.
"But you might want to get your apprentice a lesson in tracking spells." Eda suggested. "Having someone in the school who can find her easily would give us both some peace of mind."
"Maybe you're right." Lilith said, placing a hand on the door. "I'll have her do a bit of training with it the next time I see her." Lilith opened the door then started walking away.
"And remind that mother of her that if she harms mermaids, it is a crime and money isn't going to help her." Eda shouted.
Lilith rolled her eyes then summoned her Palismen and flew off back to the castle but then reread off course towards the blight estate.
Hexside roof
Hunter landed on the roof of the school to see Luz waiting watching the students below.
"So have you changed your mind or…" Hunter saud
"If I have to choose between a group of people who have tried to harm me and/or use me as a bargaining chip against those I love, or a woman who is a free spirit that gets in trouble cause of me, but she is still willing to protect me." Luz explained interrupting Hunter. "Then I'll go with my mentor over the Emperor every time. And before you try the whole mermaid thing, it shouldn't matter. I'm from another world, I have no idea what kind of laws you have and a mistake is bound to happen. Instead of hunting me down for being with a criminal you could have easily talked to me like I have a choice then." Luz then turned towards Hunter. "Using might doesn't always make you right. I have my ways of hiding, they worked in the human realm just fine and I remain hidden while I'm here."
"The Emperor can easily protect you from those that want to harm you if you just come to us." Hunter said.
"That's the thing I want to live my life not be protected." Luz said, walking away. "It's my life and I'd like for you to remain out of it."
Once Luz was gone only one thought went through Hunter's mind, "I have to do something or that mermaid is going to get herself caught by those pirates."
Blight Manor
Amity walked up to the front door to Lilith waiting by it.
"Hello Lilith, I didn't know we were having a lesson today." Amity said, stopping in her tracks.
"We didn't plan one but I thought I'd come talk to you for a bit." Lilith said, placing a hand on Amity's shoulder. "Why don't you tell your mother I'll be taking you for a bit. Okay."
"Alright." Amity said, walking quickly to the door. Amity soon returned having dropped her bag off in her room and told her mother that she was going with Lilith for some extra training. "Ready to go."
"Good." Lilith said, then had Amity get onto her Palimen. As they flew away Lilith made sure no one could hear them by casting a spell. "I guess congratulations are in order." when Lilith looked back to see Amity giving her a question look she could help but chuckle a little. "Remember I am Edalyn's sister so me going over the Owl House every so often isn't unheard of."
"Oh, so you found out about me and Luz." Amity said blushing.
"Yes, and I also know about what she is." Lilith said they landed on the ground of a clearing in the forest. "That's why I would like to teach you a spell to find what you seek; in case you need to find her and help her at a moment's notice."
Amity immediately understood what Lilith was getting at remembering what Luz had told her before about the pirates that might be after her.
Flashback
"You're telling me that a group of pirates might be after you so that they can use you." Amity said as she walked next to Luz.
"Yeah, which is why I want to learn all that I can about myself so that I can be prepared." Luz said, holding up the book from the library. "My mother told me a bit about the mermaid culture but the abilities we have are still outside my expertise."
"Luz, are you sure you don't want to…" Amity asked.
"I know what you're going to ask and the answer is no." Luz interjected. "I can't keep having other people protect me all the time. I need to be able to do it myself or I'll never really grow. So please help me learn."
"Okay I'll help you the best I can but don't do anything reckless okay." Amity said, taking the book Luz handed.
"I can try but I make no promises about that." Luz quickly said, then kissed Amity on the cheek then ran off. "I'll talk to you again later. For now, can you return that book for me."
"No problem." Amity shouted back as Luz ran off.
Flashback End
"Okay, what do I need to do?" Amity said, ready to learn the spell.
Lilith nodded her head then explained, "The spell itself sounds simple, but it requires a few things. For starters you need an object of the person you're looking for." As the explanation continued Amity wrote down what Lilith was telling her so that she could get things she needed to do the spell.
