SOMEWHERE IN THE GRAND LINE
A certain raven haired pirate sat on deck taking in the morning air. Robin loved sunrises, and often sat on the deck of the ship in the morning.
A news bird from the World Economy Newspaper, dripped a paper onto the ship into Robin's hands as she read the paper with worry.
"WORLD ECONOMY NEWS! WHO IS DEATH? WHAT DO THEY WANT?"
Robin opened the paper to continue reading.
"KINGDOMS ALL OVER THE GRAND LINE HAVE BEEN DESTROYED OR TAKEN OVER BY THIS MYSTERIOUS ORGANIZATION! EVEN KINGDOMS ALLIED WITH THE WORLD GOVERNMENT ARE NO MATCH FOR THIS ANARCHIST GROUP!"
Robin couldn't believe this news.
"Oh my.. I sure hope we don't run into them any time soon.." Robin said, as she noticed something else in the mail. It was a letter. From an old friend of the Straw Hats.
Robin smiled.
"Vivi sent them a letter.. I'll show them as soon as everyone is up.. they'll be so happy!" Robin said, smiling.
VILLAGE HIDDEN IN LEAVES
The sky was a beautiful orange and purple from the beautiful sunrise creeping into view. The air was cool and crisp.
The people and shinobi of village hidden in leaves had worked tirelessly to rebuild the village to its former glory after the attack from Pain only three years prior. Thankfully the village was not damaged further in the war the followed.
A certain yellow-haired shinobi walked with his hand intertwined with another lavender-haired kunoichi.
"Child of Prophecy, Hero of the Hidden Leaf, Saviour of this World" Call him whatever you like, these were few of the nicknames given to this selfless hero.
Hinata began to hug Naruto's arm as they walked.
"Thank you, for the night out, Naruto-kun.." Hinata said softly, smiling.
Naruto looked at Hinata and smiled.
"Any time Hinata." Naruto said.
Hinata continued to smile to herself, now blushing. Naruto and Hinata had been dating under the radar shortly after Toneri Otsutsuki's plan to crash the moon into Earth.
Hinata still couldn't believe she was the one attatched to Naruto's arm. With all of his popularity, not just in the leaf, but all five natuons, Naruto could have had anyone he wanted.
The two continued to walk through the Konoha streets until a sound interrupted them. Naruto immediately got on defense.
"Who's there?!" Naruto yelled as a kunai flew from the bushes.
Naruto quickly caught the kunai as a sword wrapped around his neck.
"Wh-Wha-" Naruto stopped when he realized who attacked him.
Sasuke was reavealed to be the one behind Naruto.
"You're weak." Sasuke said, putting away his sword.
Naruto angrily turned towards Sasuke.
"Who you calling weak?!" Naruto yelled.
"Be quiet. Or I'll have you charged for disturbing the peace." Sasuke said.
"Try it!" Naruto yelled.
"It's nice to see you again, Sasuke. How have you been?" Hinata asked.
Sasuke looked at Hinata through a regular eye, his other eye covered by his hair.
"I've been well. There are no looming threats to the village that I know of." Sasuke said.
Hinata smiled.
"That's always great news." Hinata said, "Did you come back to see Sakura? She's home I think."
Sasuke blushed but it was hardly noticable as Sasuke snapped his head away.
"I received word yesterday to get back here as soon as possible, that's the only reason I'm here. Nothing else." Sasuke said.
Hinata chuckled.
Naruto was confused.
"Called back early? Wh-Why?" Naruto asked.
Sasuke looked at Naruto.
"I won't say anything out here in the open. Meet Kakashi and I at the Hokage mansion immediately after you drop Hinata off at home." Sasuke said.
Naruto gulped and nodded.
Hinata looked at Naruto.
"Oh, that's fine if you need Naruto immediately.. I underst-"
When Hinata looked back, Sasuke was gone.
Naruto and Hinata smiled as Naruto extended his arm for Hinata to grab it. The two walking through the village once more.
Sasuke sat on a roof overlooking Sakura's window as she slept. Sasuke stared for a moment before vanishing.
Hokage Mansion
Kakashi sighed as he rest his head in his hands.
"Oh boy.. here we go." Kakashi said softly, "Where do I even start?"
Knock knock knock.
Kakashi looked up.
"Come in." Kakashi said.
Naruto was the first to arrive as he looked around the office.
"Hey, Kakashi-sensei! Sasuke said something about an important mission? Where is he?" Naruto asked.
"Naruto, sit. If Sasuke's message made it to you then I trust he'll be here momentarily with Sakura." Kakashi explained.
Naruto sat down and looked around.
"So, Kakashi-sensei, how's about giving me a preview of what this mission is going to be like?" Naruto said.
Kakashi stared at Naruto through tired eyes.
"I don't think so, Naruto.. just be patient." Kakashi said.
Naruto made a face and crossed his arms.
After a moment, Sasuke and Sakura walked in.
"Hey what gives?! You said go straight to the mansion!" Naruto yelled.
"So, what." Sasuke said.
Naruto gripped his hair with anger as Sakura and Sasuke sat down.
"Goodmorning, Kakashi-sensei.. Sasuke told me you had a special mission for us?" Sakura asked.
Naruto became serious and turned towards Kakashi as Kakashi stood up and turned towards the window.
"Well.. that's the short version of it.. however.. the information attatched to it.. is unlike anything I could have expected." Kakashi said.
The three shinobi grew tense.
"Wh-What kind of information?" Naruto asked.
Sasuke was particularly interested.
"I'll cut to the chase.. a princess has been making her way to the Sand village." Kakashi said.
The three shinobi looked at each other. Naruto pouted.
"Uhhhh, Kakashi-sensei we're not really new to this whole princess thing." Naruto said nervously.
Kakashi nodded.
"That is true.. but what about a princess from outside the shinobi world?" Kakashi asked.
The three shinobis' eyes snapped open.
"Out-Outside the shinobi world?" Sasuke asked.
"What?.." Sakura asked.
Naruto stared at Kakashi with shock as Kakashi pulled out a map of the ninja world as they knew it.
Kakashi pointed to the Land of Wind, the massive desert the Sand Village sat in.
"Surely you know about the guards at the end of the boarder to the Land of Wind, right Sasuke?" Kakashi asked.
Sasuke was slightly shocked.
"Yes. There's a boarder of Sand Shinobi that prohibit travel past that point as there is "only desert out there,"as far as they knew." Sasuke said.
Kakashi nodded.
"Turns out.. that doesn't appear to be the case." Kakashi said, pulling out a larger, folded up map.
The shinobi stared with confusion as Kakashi opened the map and set it under the map of the shinobi world.. revealing the entire shinobi world..
"Is just a small part.. of a massive desert country." Kakashi said.
Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura couldn't believe a word of this.
How was this even possible?
"The desert country, is called, "Alabasta." The princess is from this kingdom here, "Alubarna." Kakashi said, pointing at the map.
The shinobi continued to look over the map.
"And the entire desert country itself, rests in a stretch of water and islands called "The Grand Line." Kakashi said.
"The Grand Line?" Sasuke asked.
Kakashi looked back at the map.
"As I said, it's a stretch of water, but it wraps around the entire world, with a red mountain range running perpendicular to that. Says it's called "The Red Line." Kakashi explained.
The shinobi still couldn't believe it. There was just no way.
Sasuke shook his head.
"This-This is crazy.. I know that desert outside the Land of Wind is vast.. but no one has traveled far enough to see an entire kingdom? Not once?" Sasuke asked.
Kakashi looked at Sasuke.
"..Apparently not." Kakashi said.
The shinobi looked back at the map.
"And.. that's not all." Kakashi said.
The shinobi looked up quickly. There was more?
"There's a group.. that may want Vivi's life.." Kakashi said, picking up a newspaper Garra sent with his letter.
Kakashi put the paper on the table.
"WORLD ECONOMY NEWS! WHO IS DEATH? WHAT DO THEY WANT?"
Naruto stared at the front page.
An entire kingdom was in flames.
Sakura covered her mouth as Sasuke stared at the paper, slightly nervous.
"KINGDOMS ALL OVER THE GRAND LINE HAVE BEEN DESTROYED OR TAKEN OVER BY THIS MYSTERIOUS ORGANIZATION! EVEN KINGDOMS ALLIED WITH THE WORLD GOVERNMENT ARE NO MATCH FOR THIS ANARCHIST GROUP!"
The shinobi stopped reading when Kakashi spoke.
"Whoever this organization is.. they're clearly targeting kingdoms, so there's no surprise Vivi would be a potential target." Kakashi said.
The shinobi continued to listen.
"Your official mission, is to protect Vivi by any cost. And soak up any intel you can on this organization." Kakashi said, "If they find out Vivi has plans to come here, this could put us on DEATH's radar, we could use the information you all gather to fight back."
"S-S-So what you're telling me?.." Naruto started.
Sakura was shocked.
Sasuke stared at Kakashi.
Kakashi smiled under his mask.
"That's right. You all will be stationed in Alubarna while you work with the kingdom to find information on DEATH." Kakashi said.
The shinobi became visibly excited, except for Sasuke, who kept it internal.
"So, we good?" Kakashi asked.
Naruto raised a hand.
"Naruto?" Kakashi asked.
"I uhhh... could I get some sleep? I was out all night.." Naruto asked.
Kakashi looked at Naruto through tired eyes.
"Luckily you won't be sent off until tomorrow around noon.. meet at the village main gates as usual.
"You're not going, Kakashi?" Sakura asked.
"You're all more than capable." Kakashi smiled, "We trust you to get the job done. That and I'm paperworked up to my eyeballs."
Naruto and Sakura smiled as they got up to leave. Sasuke stayed behind. Kakashi sighed and rested his chin in his hands.
"Watch after them Sasuke.. we don't know what's out there." Kakashi said.
Sasuke sat on the boarder of the window behind Kakashi and looked at the beautiful sunrise.
"Of course." Sasuke said, thinking about everything he's heard.
"The Grand Line.." Sasuke said.
NEW ARLONG PARK
"SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA SHA SHA SHA SHA!" Arlong laughed as bodies lay before him.
"U-Um, Arlong-san.. don't you think we should get rid of these bodies in case the marines come looking? What if the marine attention attracts the attention of that organization that's been running around?" A fish man asked.
Arlong angrily looked at the fish man.
"What? Are you afraid of some puny organization? one that doesn't even have a clear-cut leader?!" Arlong yelled.
"The new Fishman pirates won't tolerate such weakness! Leave and never come back!" Arlong yelled.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Arlong stared at the entrance to the park with anger as cannonball and debris smoke covered the area.
Arlong stared a moment longer before a cannonball suddenly blasted through the smoke.
Arlong's eye widened as he caught the cannonball, smiled, and stood up.
"Firing attacks from behind smoke screens like a coward?! Who's there?!" Arlong yelled as a strong wind blew the smoke away, revealing two men.
One man had black hair with red highlights. His face had black markings all over the left side, with a bandage wrapping around his head, covering his left eye.
The man also had a thick scar that ran down his head and split at his nose, ending in points just past his eyes. The man wore a black, zip-up, short sleeved jacket with a black sash tied around his waist by a red rope belt.
The man's black pants were rolled up to just his knees with black knee high sandals on. The man also wore long black gloves that stretched up just past his elbow, white lines at the ends, a long sharp sword also rest on his back.
The man's right eye shone red, as he focused his sharingan on the fishman.
"I'm tired of his mouth already, Psycho." The man next to Psycho said.
"Me too. But he's strong, we need him alive. Do what you want with the others.. Cylone." Psycho said.
Cyclone smirked wickedly as he clutched his sword that rest on his back.
Cyclone wore a grey, cropped jean jacket with a black muscle shirt underneath. Cyclone's bagged cargos were also grey with black boots on his feet.
Cyclone's most noticable piece of clothing, was the turban on his head.
DEATH members began to appear behind Psycho and Cyclone as more of DEATH's ships came into veiw.
DEATH soldiers all wore different varitions of black and red armor, but they all had one emblem in common.
The DEATH symbol, which was a red circle with a black-saw blade image inside.
"Here to take over are you!?" Arlong asked.
Psycho and Cyclone continued to stare. Arlong grew angrily and cocked his arm back.
"THEN GIVE IT A TRY!" Arlong yelled, throwing the cannonball at the group with incredible speed.
KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The entrance to the park exploded once more as Arlong laughed.
"SHAAAAAAAAAAA SHA SHA SHA!" Arlong laughed.
The fishman pirates were filled with shock.
"C-Captain! What are you doing?!" One of the fishmen yelled.
"Y-You killed them!" Another yelled.
Arlong stopped laughing.
"Of course I did! That's the point you fool-" Arlong's eyes widened with fear.
Psycho's blown up body stared at Arlong through his sharingan, slowly raising his arm.
Arlong could hardly breathed as Psycho pointed in another direction.
Arlong slowly looked over to see Psycho, Cyclone and the others were completely uneffected. Arlong turned white.
"Wh-Wh-What...?! Then.. who-who?" Arlong stammered.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Arlong was revealed to have blown up a large group of fishmen.
"N-NO!" Arlong screamed as he looked back.
"BROTHERS! LET'S- UGH!" Arlong sounded as Cyclone sat at the temple bar reading a book.
The entirety of the fishmen pirates had been killed in a flash. Arlong's eyes rolled in the back of his head until a voice broke him from unconciousness.
"I run things here now." Psycho said.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Psycho squated in front of Arlong, his fingers extended, his middle finger just barely touching Arlong's body.
The man's bandage fell off, slowly revealing that DEATH's logo.. was patterened after his sharingan.
"Wh-Who are you?..." Arlong asked weakly.
"Lightning release.. onyx-brick one inch punch.." Psycho said softly.
Psycho coated his arm in haki and then electricity, creating black lightning.
"Psycho." Psycho paused.
"Uchiha." Psycho finished.
Psycho closed his hand into a fist on Arlong's chest, sending him flying past Cyclone and crashing through the island temple in a light speed flash of electricity.
Psycho stood to his feet as DEATH members invaded New Arlong Park.
Psycho turned back towards the water, his sharingan spinning rapidly.
