Sitting against one of the walls furthest from the bed Bakugo impatiently continued to tap his knee while listening to the doctor once again ramble on about his condition with his parents as well as All Might and Mr. Aizawa.

"Same shit! Is there anything different?!" Bakugo snapped growing tired of the same babbling over and over again. He had so many damn questions that needed to be answered but couldn't even ask them, so he had no option but to patiently wait and listen, which to be honest wasn't one of his strongest suits.

"At this point I'm afraid we've done all we can." the doctor regretfully said looking at Bakugo's body. "I know this is hard to hear…but there hasn't been any new development-"

"No!" Jumping up Bakugo knew exactly what he didn't want to hear, and the doctor was suggesting.

"No!" Mitsuki abruptly stood along with her husband. "We're not doing that. My son is strong. Stronger than you know, so he will pull through. He will."

"I understand. But it's already been more than a year-"

"We're. Not. Doing it." Mitsuki firmly said once again feeling her husband's hand on her shoulder.

Snapping his eyes from his parents to the doctor, Bakugo was grateful and proud of his parents knowing that he would always beat the odds stacked against him, even now they still had faith in him. When he himself worried at times and continued to grow uncertain about all of this.

"Doctor, I agree with them. He's a tough kid and unless we know more about what is happening with him, I would suggest waiting it out. At least for now." Mr. Aizawa said locking eyes with the man.

"I'm sure the doctor meant well." All Might spoke up. "But I wouldn't say we haven't made any progress." He gestured to Bakugo's physical body laying on the bed in front of him. "We're still having a hard time figuring out why young Bakugo still appears to look healthy after all this time, yet there has been nothing to indicate on whether he will wake up or any other new development like the good doctor said other than before."

"Maybe I'm just that awesome." Bakugo huffed, turning to glare at the door but immediately turned back to them. "Wait, what do you mean before?"

Nodding, the Doctor once again apologized before excusing himself, knowing that this was always a though subject to talk about for any loved ones.

"Wait what did you mean before?!" he tried again getting to his feet. "All Might?!" Making a fist he frustratingly placed it on top of his head. "Damn it!"

As his parents defeatedly sat themselves back down on the two chairs next to his bed, he once again heard All Might try and talk to him.

"Young Bakugo, can you hear me?"

"Yeah, All Might. Right here." Bakugo once again answered sitting himself back down knowing there was nothing else he could do right now. "Same as always…"

"I still don't know if this will reach you. But know that we're doing everything we can to get you to wake up. We haven't given up hope yet."

"Yet…." He mumbled, leaning his head back and waiting until it was time to go back to the dorms. "At least you haven't…"

Chewing on her bottom lip Uraraka quickly finished up her notes, stuffing them in her bag once the bell sounded and headed for her locker. It was now going to be their last break of third year and Uraraka was about to make the most of it while she could before graduating.

"So, Round-face what are we doing this weekend?" Bakugo nonchalantly was already leaning against the locker next to her watching everyone exiting the classroom.

Today he decided to take it easy or as others would call it 'lazing around' since for some reason he wasn't really up to doing anything that he usually did, especially after his visit to the hospital. He was thinking about just checking to see what his loser friends were up to but was curious to see what her plans were too.

It was still surprising to him how much time he continued to spend with her. It was almost to the point where it became a daily routine for him and instead of his previous unease, he actually enjoyed himself more and more and was able to notice the little things she did that he started to become fond of.

There were things of course he had noticed when he was still physically here like whenever she got nervous, she would either place her hair behind her ear or play with her hands, but now he noticed other things, like whenever she would work on something she was really focused on she would subconsciously stick her tongue out or even scrunch up her nose which he thought was rather cute.

But what still struck him everytime where her brown eyes, the same eyes that could hold such fire would also be the most warm and caring ones he's seen. The same eyes that would always look right through him.

If he had to be honest with himself there were times he would still forget that he wasn't actually here and whenever she would turn in his direction he would have to take a shaky breath in and remind himself that he wasn't, to both calm the fluttering in his chest as well as help ground him into reality.

Of course he hated to admit this but there were times during first year when he would try and initiate conversation with the brunette whenever she wasn't with her usual group of friends and he would just find himself at a loss and quickly turn the other way or if they were sparing he was great at helping her out but as soon as their time finished at the gym he could never work up the courage to do anything else.

So much for not being scared shitless of anything…

But to be fair, he figured him coming up to her out of the blue just to make small talk would've just freak her out or flat out reject him. Not that he cared if she did of course. Well at least that's what he told himself.

And to prove that theory he did try a couple of times to engage in conversation with her again towards the end of first year for which he thought she did enjoy, but the moment she would give him this odd look once he couldn't help but sweat profusely, his heartbeat almost irritably beating against his chest and felt his face heat up to an embarrassingly red color that he would never admit, he would always have to look away, and it either ended with him just stomping away in the middle of the conversation or him barking some kind of insult to her in self-defense before walking away.

Ok so maybe his people skills wasn't up to par like Shitty hair would say, but could you blame him? Have you looked at her? Just one look at those doe brown eyes staring back at you and his stomach would do somersaults. Not to mention that during their first training camp he nearly clumsily chopped up his damn fingers the moment she complimented him...right before yelling at her of course.

So now he felt relieved that he could just be around her without being the idiot he was sure she thought him off, and it may have to do with the fact that she couldn't hear or see him but at the same time it continued to piss him off too. What kind of fucked up twist was that?

But yet he couldn't find it in himself to not see her at least once a day.

"Hey Chako, any plans?" Mina and Tsu came up to her with their own bags in hand.

"Y-yeah actually." She smiled momentarily glancing at them before rummaging through her locker. "I've got work then going to be working on my training."

"Again?!"

"Again?!" Bakugo repeated Minas question with the same shocked expression. "And they said that I was too obsessed!"

"Well, it is winter break, so other than training and work do you plan to do anything else?" Tsu tilted her head.

"Well…"

"You should relax, maybe take it easy." Tsu offered.

Nodding Bakugo couldn't agree more for the first time. "Listen to frog face."

"You should let loose." Mina suggested. "Maybe go on a date? You know enjoy your high school days."

"Ok no, don't listen to her." Bakugo whipped his head in the pink girls direction.

"A date?" Uraraka curiously stopped looking through her locker and slowly closed it.

"What the hell Raccoon eyes?!" He gaped wishing that his quirk suddenly worked so he could blast that damn idea out of her head. "If she wants to work and train then let her!"

"Yeah, why not?" Mina asked walking alongside the two girls down the hall while Bakugo quickened his pace so he could walk in front of them. He didn't know why this topic suddenly sent him reeling in panic mode. It's not like he could nor would stop her. She could do whatever the hell she wanted right? So why should he care. It's not like she was here waiting for him, hell she didn't even know he was here.

"A date?" Uraraka repeated, scrunching her eyebrows together at the idea. "I don't know…"

"Have you ever given any thought to the idea? "Tsu asked concerned laced in her voice and exchanging knowing looks with Mina.

"I have…."

"Really?" Mina quirked a skeptical eye.

"I have!" Uraraka pouted letting the two girls link their arms with hers.

"Anyone in specific?"

"Maybe…"

"Tch, let me guess the damn nerd or that fucking extra last year." Bakugo huffed hating this conversation more and more as time went by.

"Ochaco…is it who I think it is?" Mina stopped her, her expression suddenly becoming eerily serious mixed with worry. With her friends' eyes drifting down Mina already knew the answer. "Babe…I thought we talked about this…"

"Who?" Clenching his fist, he took a deep calm breath through his nostrils hoping one of these morons would elaborate further. Whover the hell this was must've hurt her real bad for her face to suddenly change like that, and it made him wanna find out who the hell was so fuckin blind to not realize what they had.

Pressing her lips together Mina's voice softens feeling her own voice break for her. "He's not-"

"I know." Uraraka quietly said, forcing a weak smile to reassure her friends. "It's fine you guys, really. Like you said it's time to move on, right?"

"Right." They nodded following her out of the school while Bakugo lingered back.

One year later….

Absently walking down the busy sidewalk as the snow continued to pile up, he had just gotten back from visiting his parents at his house when he stopped in front of a jewelry store, his eyes catching on a silver necklace with a small pink crescent moon attached to it knowing what day it was today.

"What do you want?"

Smiling, the familiar figure walked up to stand next to him eyeing the same necklace. "What an unusual necklace. Who's it for?"

"No one."

Snickering, she tilted her head letting her black hair flow with the breeze. "That's a lot of attention to give to something of no importance."

Lifting his eyes up to stare at his nonexistent reflection. Bakugo couldn't help but notice hers. And if almost reading his mind the black-haired woman turned to look at him with the same expression she usually did since the first time he saw her standing next to him looking down at his body.

"One of the perks of doing what I do I suppose. People can only see me if I want them to."

"Lucky you."

"What, don't tell me that you're already regretting your decision? Because if you have-"

"I'm not." He firmly said knowing what she was going to ask next since she always did anytime he saw her.

"No anger, no need to suddenly lash out? I'm surprised the loneliness hasn't gotten to you."

That wasn't necessarily true, Bakugo could admit to himself since never in his life had he ever felt more alone and vulnerable than after all this happened. He realized that after all these years that's why he was clinging onto the only good things in his life that made him feel like the old him again, that made him feel like he belonged somewhere and that made him remember who he was. Even if they didn't know it.

And with that thought he glanced at the clock on the wall inside the store realizing he was about to be late and that she should be getting home soon.

Turning, he started making his way down the street when he heard her shout.

"Let me know when you're ready Bakugo."

Not pausing in his steps, he quickly jogged a few more blocks down the street before turning the corner and running up the steps of the apartment building. Once inside he walked down the quiet carpeted hallway and to the last door on the right.

The building was not the best one but not the worst either. If it were for him, he would straight up give her his opinion about finding something more decent and closer to work but knowing Uraraka she always tried to be more practical with everything which he thought was both admirable but also annoying.

Smirking, he quietly listened against the door to see if she was home already but from the look of it, she wasn't. Now this was the part he hated if she wasn't there to open the door for him. "Goddamn it…"

Closing his eyes, he hesitantly stepped through the door and the moment he did he made sure to get as far away from the door as he could, still hating that sickening feeling.

Out of habit he took off his boots before walking over to the kitchen and checking the time again wondering why she wasn't home yet. Maybe she had more paperwork to fill out.

It was another good 40 minutes while he continued glaring at all the boxes littering the apartment. It's already been a whole week since she finally moved into her own place, and even though he was proud of her the boxes sitting there unmoving was grating on his last nerve.

Ever since graduating UA she had been working her butt off nonstop at the agency even going as far as sometimes taking double shifts, so he tried to cut her some slack but come on!

Snapping out of his thoughts about the possibility of all the things he was going to go off on her about once he found a way out of this stupid situation when the sound of keys jingling in the keyhole echoed through the place.

He swiftly got to his feet looking around at the obvious mess in defeat before finding himself trying to make sure his clothes and hair looked fine until he caught himself.

What the hell was he doing?

Deciding to ignore it, he eagerly waited for the damn doorknob to finally turn and felt himself smiling as soon as she entered. "About time you got home Round-face."

Closing the door after herself, she let her eyes scan around the empty apartment, just letting the relaxed and warm atmosphere of the place comfort her. If it were for her, she would have come home sooner but unfortunately for her the new coworker she was partnered up with turned out to be a disaster. She tried to give him some slack since it was his first week but the more time they spent together, the more she wanted to wipe that arrogant look off his face.

Throwing her helmet against one of the boxes, she let out a frustrated growl. "What an idiot!"

Chuckling, he followed her towards the kitchen as she went to grab a glass and pour herself some water. "Rough day?" raising his brow in amusement he leaned forward on his elbows against the counter facing her, guessing that it had to do with that useless extra she got partnered up with. "It's that asshole again huh?"

Placing her glass down with a 'CLANK' she could feel a headache coming along.

When he saw her open her tired brown eyes staring directly at him, he felt his heart race even though he knew she was probably looking at the small dining table behind him but that didn't stop him from staring right back with a nervous smile. Wishing she would just look at him at least once. "Happy birthday Uraraka…."

Turning her head left then right she furrowed her brows in concentration before shaking her head and walking over to the sink to place her glass down.

"Look since it's your birthday just go relax and take a damn shower since you need it, and then we can watch whatever fuckin sappy shit you want." Rolling his eyes, he already started walking over to the couch mentally trying to prepare himself for another night of damn chick flicks. "I promise no complaining from me…just for today." He made sure to whisper the last part with a small smile.
