In an alternate timeline, Steven's escape from Homeworld entails a series of tragic events that lead to to the imminent all-out invasion of planet Earth by the Diamond Authority as retaliation for Rose Quartz' rebellion and the Revolution sparked in their very own home planet by Steven. A prominent example would be Jason West, the gateway to the human world beyond Beach City. The thing about gateways is they tend not to be one way.
