A Meeting Of Those Who Attach Themselves To Potter

The invites were sent out.

The clothes were pressed and worn.

Food was made. Since it wasn't a meal, Hermione and Harry had made a few different treats to be snacked on to help with the nerves. Harry was sure he was going to be one of those eating them. Sirius had been supervised making the lemonade so they knew that was edible as well.

Getting people into the dining room was an exercise in teamwork. Harry and Sirius greeted guests, and pointed them to Ron or Hermione who pointed them in the direction of the dining room. Remus was both keeping himself busy and mostly out of sight by arranging the food, tea and lemonade, cups, saucers, and napkins on the smaller table he had found to the side in the dining room.

In the dining room, it was chaos. Snape was once again brooding in a corner. Cedric was helping everyone remain calm. Jones and Moody, as well as Tonks, on the former Order side were upset to be meeting with former Death Eaters; on the other side, the Crabbes, Flints, and Princes were upset to be around former Order members. However, Fred, George, and Theo were discussing booby traps while Hermione and Draco got into a discussion about a book they both had read. Into this chaos, the two remaining members of the household walked into the dining room.

Nobody noticed them.

Sirius gave a whistle like he would across a football field to get everyone's attention, and it was successful.

"All right, everyone. Let's all find a seat, shall we."

He took his spot at the head of the table, with Harry and Remus sitting next to him on opposite sides of the table. Most of the former order members sat at Remus' side of the table, while the former dark supporters and Death Eaters mostly sat on Harry's side of the table.

Sirius stood and said, "Welcome to the meeting of those that have attached themselves to Harry Potter. Since this group seems to cover both sides of the former battle lines, I hope that each one of you will keep a cool head and be at peace among yourselves. Each one of us meeting here has withdrawn themselves from their former groups because of their loyalty to my godson, so please get that through your heads. Let us start with going around the table and introduce yourselves and why you decided to follow Harry.

"I'll start. I'm Sirius Black, and Harry Potter is my godson, basically my pup."

"I'm Remus Lupin, and Harry Potter is my packmate's cub."

"I'm Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter is my best mate."

"I'm Hermione Granger, and Harry Potter is like my brother and first friend."

"I'm retired Auror Moody, and Harry Potter is destined to defeat You-Know-Who, and my friend Albus has seemed to have lost his wits."

"I'm Auror Tonks, and I am against killing teens without reason."

"I'm Auror Kingsley, and I am also against killing kids without reason."

"I'm Hestia Jones, formerly Order of the Phoenix, and I have found myself crossing wands with the Headmaster."

"I'm Bill Weasley, and Harry Potter is someone my family is friends with."

"I'm Fred Weasley, and Harry Potter is like my brother."

"I'm George Weasley, and Harry Potter is like my brother."

"I'm Andromeda Tonks, and Harry Potter has brought together both sides of my family."

"I'm Severus Snape, sworn to protect the idiotic brat."

"I'm Theo Nott, having decided to not follow the same person as my family."

"I'm Draco Malfoy, and Harry Potter has proven himself to be willing to think of both sides of the story."

"I'm Chang Chen, and I have decided that Harry is worth deciding a side for."

"I'm Prentis Prince, and I decided Harry Potter would be a better person to follow than the current Dark Lord."

"I'm Julius Rippley, and I decided to follow Harry Potter because my friend Samuel Abbot convinced me."

"I am Eric Edgecombe, and I was looking for a way out that would change my mark."

"I am Samuel Abbot, and didn't want to force my daughter to betray her best friend."

"I am Marcus Flint, and I swore myself to Potter because he proved himself on the Quidditch pitch."

"I am Antonius Flint, and I swore myself to Potter because he is a better person than You-Know-Who."

"I am Lucius Malfoy, and I trapped myself before coming to the realization that Potter has a higher backer than any man."

"I'm Cedric Diggory, and I swore myself to Potter after he saved my life more than once in my first ever fight for survival against multiple attackers."

"I am Harry Potter, and I am me? I found that once I joined the Wizarding World at age eleven, I was famous, for I had no idea previously, and I had a target on my back."

Sirius stood again.

"We have gone around the circle. Now that we have done so, we need to decide what we stand for."

Then he sat down. He was asked a quiet, "May I?" from his godson, to which he replied, "Go ahead."

Harry stood up. "I know that there is a lot I do not know. However, there are things that I do know about, and with those that have sworn themselves to me and friends and family, I have written up a document of what I will stand for. If Remus could make copies, we could all have one to read."

After he said that, he passed the scroll to Remus, who copied it and passed the copies around the table.

"I have a comment. Just from looking at this, there are some places where it is marked that this is the direction you are thinking on going, but need more information in order to fully commit to the direction?"

"Yes."

"Why is that?"

"There are some things that I have no way of getting the information, and the only information I can get at are in muggle fairy tales, which could be very wrong. Basically, I am going off of my experiences since I started at Hogwarts."

"Are you saying that we on the light side are limiting pertinent information?"

"Yes. Both sides are. Between one side not wanting to read about anything Dark, and the other side being prejudiced about anything Muggle, we end up only getting information about Light side wizards or what Light side wizards should read. It leaves the entire country ignorant, and then everything must be made on supposition because the facts are not out there. That is how frauds like Umbridge and Lockhart are able to operate."

"I don't believe you."

"You're just trying to be a Dark Lord, Potter."

"Can I defend myself?"

"Can you?" came a snort from Moody.

"Can you find for me then the number of squibs that are born in pureblood marriages versus the number of squibs where at least one of the parents are muggleborn or halfblood? Can you find me why werewolves are labeled a dark creature and are not allowed basic human rights that is not propoganda? Have you seen the data of how much money a werewolf has to put out each month to be able to say said werewolf will not infect another? Can you find for me the trial documents for every person that has been put in Azkaban? Can you tell me why after Grindelwald was defeated, and prior, our government has gone against the laws it was founded on and disregarded battlefield spells as something that should not ever be used? Can you tell me why it is now considered dark to use the rituals to help balance the magic when without them the houses we live in suck up all of the ambient magic in the area, causing them to start hunting humans for the spark of magic they hold, except for beings capable of giving off ambient magic or doing those rituals themselves? Do you know why muggleborn come to exist anyway? Do you care about if the children of each household feel safe and able to call where their family lives "home"? That is "home" not "where my family lives". These are all things that I have had to concern myself with."

"Why are we here?" gasped a man.

"Because I need the ring I hid here, Avery" snarled the passenger on the back of his head. Now I need control for a bit."

So saying, the ill-tempered wraith took control of Avery's body, and forced his hand backwards to start unravelling the spells on the door. From there, he had to undo the spells on the ring itself. Once the ring was on the man's finger, he relinquished control again to its rightful owner.

"Where to next, Master?"

"Your house. And we're calling our potions master again."
