Phase 20: Water World
Within Sanghelios, the CSO Supercarrier the Everlasting Flames is laying siege to the last remains of the Storm on the planet along with a large fleet to push into the entrenched watery city of Sunaion above the Csurdon Sea. The Arbiter is leading the attack on the waterlogged city standing within the planet's vast oceans.
Fireteam Omega is aiding in assaulting this base of operation with the Storm feeling the grip of the CW on their throats. They work alongside the Arbiter and two Hunter Ultras. "My brothers and sisters, it is time to end their campaign of fear on Sangheili. To arms," he shouted through the battle net.
"For the Swords of Sanghelios!" all the shipmasters said at once with Rose leading the team to aid the Arbiter to be within the main building where the Storm's command staff is here.
"Always on the move," Alisa said as Sage giggled at this.
"This is a good thing, the Swords are getting things done," Sage said as Alisa nodded her head to wield her Commando rifle to put shots into the heads of Grunts and Drones. Thel kicks a Jackal Heavy into a wall to sever his head with his unique Energy Sword called the Prophets' Bane.
Alisa pulls out her Spartan Laser to strike the incoming Wraith to turn it into a burning heap. The Hunter Ultras were able to wipe out groups of Grunts and Jackals while Rose was using her machine gun to mow down more support troops.
Yuri uses his DMR to land headshots while Olympia uses a Storm Rifle to pepper incoming Storm Elites to strip their shields while Cortez lobs grenades from his launcher to take them out.
"Don't let the heretic Arbiter within the command tower," the commander said on the battle net which Sage hacked into with ease.
"They are panicking and losing the fight," Sage said.
"Good. The Storm Covenant will not leave their dirty mark on this planet no longer," Arbiter said as a Sword Lich uses its Focus Cannon to blow up a building killing all the enemies inside and sinking it into the dark waters below.
They see Storm ships crashing into the ocean with the Swords losing a few ships but winning the air battle.
"What a melee up there," Sage said as they encountered more Storm units blocking their path with tows of Shades and Heavy Plasma Cannons.
"Coming through," Dek crashes through a window to wield his Plasma Caster to let out cluster orbs to take out the positions. Several other Ultra Elites come in wielding Storm Rifles and Concussion Rifles to aid the Arbiter. "Arbiter, I managed to get here. I am not missing this," Dek said.
"Indeed, keep pushing onward," Thel said to lead them towards the main command tower.
"Good to see you Dek so soon," Alisa said as the Spartans and Elites were moving to fight through more Storm units.
"Likewise. Sela and Vala are in another section of the city to capture a command center. I am here in her stead," Dek said to switch to his Shepsu-pattern plasma cannon aka Light Plasma Cannon wielding it like a machine gun to begin mowing down groups of Drones and Grunts.
A Pair of Sword Banshees come in to use their Fuel Rods to bomb enemy clusters letting the Swords and Spartan fire teams move through the city.
"We are closing in the command tower. They are getting pushed back," Sage said as they saw a lot of Drones with a few Drone snipers trying to hold their position but getting easily by overwhelming force.
"Smash through their defenses. We are getting close to the center of this rot," Dek said as he pumped large plasma bolts into several Elite Minors and Majors to bust open their shields easily and melt through their bodies leaving them burning corpses on the sheen floors.
He tosses a Needle Grenade to let the barrage of pink spikes nail several targets to see chains of super combines scattering their blooded broken bodies.
The Hunters go in front to give them mobile cover with them using their Hunter Shade Cannons unleashing waves of triple bolts of powerful plasma slicing through hordes of Grunts, Jackals, and Elite Minors.
"Who's a bright idea to put Shade guns on Hunters?" Cortez asked as Hunters with Shade guns on their arms seemed like overkill.
"Why not, triple the kills, triple the fun," Dek said as the huge Elite mowed down more enemies with his Light Plasma Cannon.
The Hunters reached the command tower's doors to bust it open to use their Shade Cannons to slice through multiple enemies while the others moved in with Thel heading for the commander of the defenses of the city. He wields a Plasma Rifle in his second hand to blast through Grunts and Drones while slicing through incoming Elites trying to stop him.
"The Arbiter is here. Wipe him out and bring glory for our Storm," the Commander ordered but Thel was cutting through the ranks of enemies with ease showing sheer skill and agility that seemed unreal.
Olympia is using an MP-99 SMG loaded with 48 rounds of 12.7mm in a side-mounted magazine similar to an old-world submachine gun from the 20th century.
She tears through Grunts tagging one of them with a Plasma Grenade to kick him across the room to land into a group of Jackals to blow them all up scattering blue and purple blood along with body parts.
Alisa switches to her Bulldog to flip the selective switch from pump action to semi-auto to begin blasting rapid controlled shots with 12 gauge buckshot cutting down enemies. Spartans, Elites, and Hunters were clearing up the room with the Arbiter reaching the Commander.
He takes down his guards with ease while clashing briefly with the Commander's blade. Arbiter overpowers the commander and then lets two swings. The first takes out the shields and the second tears through his torso splitting him in half.
"Victory, Victory!" Thel shouted to raise his sword into the air with all the Elites cheering for the last signs of the Storm were gone from the home world.
"Well, that ended well," Alisa said.
"Of course, this will make Sangheili secure along with its moons. Only one more step, killing Jul," Sage said to show off a hologram of the war criminal with his Storm Covenant swiftly becoming a mere memory on Sangheili.
"Operation is a success Arbiter," Dek said as they won the final battle on Sangheili with the Swords having complete control over the planet and her moons.
"Indeed, the blight of the Storm is no more here on the planet," Thel said as he greeted his Spartan allies. "Thanks for your assistance. Putting this rebellion will keep the main system at peace," Thel said.
"No problem, big guy," Rose said in a bright tone to pat him on his scaly shoulder.
"Well, now people will come back and jumpstart the economy of our world. Once the Storm is destroyed, we will focus on the Banished and the Didact," Arbiter said as his forces began to take weapons, ships, and vehicles to be added to their arsenal.
"Good work Alisa. It was tough but we cracked the security tower. Sangheili is free from this nonsense. I do have other business to take care of. Come back to the Eternity, I need to speak with you all," Sela said as Yuri wondered about this.
"Wonder what it is," Yuri said to be happy Sela was unharmed.
"Well, we need a break. That's for sure," Rosenda said as they got into a drop ship to head back into orbit to go into the hanger of Eternity.
"Well, my friends I have some good news. There is a new species who are interested in joining the Concert of Worlds. Dezreme of Reme wants to talk with us," Sela said as everyone beside Vale was confused by this.
"A new sapient species," Cortez said.
"Yes. They come from a water world, they look like humanoid sharks. We codenamed them the Sirens, the Swords contacted us about this," Vale said.
"That is correct. They are willing to share their vast knowledge and wealth of Forerunner technology along with their vast amounts of Engineers to the CW. Also, their knowledge would be helpful against the Didact," Sela said.
"Why do we never hear about them," Alisa asked.
"The Prophets hid their existence from the Covenant. Using their vast knowledge of the Forerunners for their unknown ends. Even willing to kill entire crews and escorts on their diplomatic missions to their home world. They managed to live within sunken Forerunner cities deep within the oceans of their world," Sela said.
"Freaky alien Atlantis, up in here," Rose joked.
"I want you all to come with me. I am coming on behalf of the Swords. Thel would go but he needs to deal with helping heal Sanghelios," Sela said.
"Of course, it's not every day we can meet a new species," Alisa said as Olympia was quite excited about this.
"I know right, learning their culture and planet would be so cool," Vale holds her inner nerd back. "For science of course," Olympia said.
"Right," Yuri said lightly.
"Anyway, I need to get changed and we will be heading for the planet to meet with their leader," Sela said as the Spartans were excited to see a new world with a new race of aliens who would be their allies. Yuri comes with Sela wanting to escort her to her room.
"How was the ground battle down there," Yuri asked.
"Went well enough. Thankfully the hard part is over. My home world is free from the Storm's rot and we only need to cut the head of the Storm to let it die off a painful death," Sela said to go into her room to be stripping out of her Scion combat harness to put on something fancier.
Yuri waits a bit to see his crush getting into a lovely purple robe while wearing a white cap and black boots. "Looking lovely Sela," Yuri said dumbly nodding his head in approvement with Sela giggles at this.
"How sweet. You don't need your armor, it will be a low-key affair. We will be going on my Blockage Runner along with my crew," Sela said as she awaited them on her ship.
Within an hour, the Fireteam Omega goes along to aid Sela in seeing a new alien world with Olympia being very excited about this. "Calm down Vale," Cortez said.
"I am excited for this. Besides I need to send reports to ONI about this and survey this new species," Olympia said.
"Well, humans welcome to the Blockade Runner. Burning Lance, the mistress's ship under her keeps' control," Dek said to salute them inside to only wear basic military fatigues.
"How long will we get there?" Alisa asked as the Blockade Runner is guarded by several
"About a few hours," Dek said as the five Spartans entered inside to see the large corvette showing Slugmen and Grunts patrolling the area. The Elites were checking the systems while an Engineer was fixing up a power node. The Burning Lance to go into Slip space and head for Reme.
Elsewhere the Warden is on a main capital ship leading a fleet of ships to assault a Storm stronghold to see a lot of transport ships to fighters coming into the surface of the planet. Bombings and sending in Soldiers and Watchers to swarm the areas trying to find the Janus Key stored within the fortress on a plain.
"I managed to find the Janus Key. It's here within this mere fortress," Warden said.
"This Storm has become very weak. On their last legs, purge them here and grab the key," Ur-Didact said within his mind with Knight Battlewagons using their Shard Cannons to unleash waves of red pulse lasers to rip into incoming enemies.
The Warden is leading the group of Forerunner robots to overwhelm the entrenched positions with a Watcher using a Bishop Beam to unleash a ball of hard light to bounce off multiple targets to instantly vaporize them.
"They should be honored to die for us. Their blessed forerunners," Didact said finding it silly these beings treat them like gods but in his mind, they were lesser beings so it's to be expected.
An Armiger Sniper is on a ridge to use its Binary Rifle to vaporize Elite Commanders to vaporize them in one shot each to the head. A Soldier wielding its Suppressor unloading bolts of hard light to rip into Grunts and Jackals.
The new Armiger Vanguard is a new shielded soldier variant wielding a Scattershot to let out rapid-fire semi-auto hard light pellets to blast apart the Elites and Drones. A Crawler Sniper is firing on incoming Drones to vaporize them while giving their troops extra overwatch.
A pair of Pheaton gunships is blasting explosive projectiles to rain down destruction to clear the way. A Vanguard gets close to a Storm Elite using its Plasma Rifle to pepper its shields but manages to hold its strong shields to use its Scattershot to blow off the Elite's head.
The Escort ships are striking the fortress with the troops coming in to sweep through the building with the Warden approaching the fortress to go inside to lob gravity wells to implode groups of enemies with sheer gravity.
Warden dices through several Elites with his long hard light blade. He gets hit by a pair of Hunters to shake it off and a Knight Battlewagon comes in using its new Provoker firing a charged beam of hard light to pierce through their armored bodies to instantly kill them both.
He grabs the Janus Key within the storage room to call in a War Sphinx ready to flatten the fortress into dust. "I have gotten the Janus Key," Warden said.
"Good, we will resume collecting more war assets and finding the Guardians. Once we are ready, they will never see it coming," Didact said as the Forerunner forces departed with the War Sphinx firing an orb of energy to clash onto the ground to unleash a massive citywide blast which reduced the huge fortress into a big crater with no sight of the fortress left.
Elsewhere the Swords Fleet comes to the water world of Reme to hear their contact on the surface. "Hello, friends. Welcome to our beautiful pearl of the world," a male voice said which is filled with brightness and lightness to it.
"He seems friendly," Cortez said as the Spartans were on the bridge of the Blazing Lance to see Dezreme on the screen to see they were humanoid shark-like aliens with smooth blue scales.
"We had dealings with your Prophets but they cut contact after your war was over. Now here we are ready to join your Concert of Worlds to make all our species grow together. Meet me at this location," the leader said as Sela loaded up a Lich for them all to go down to the planet.
They look outside to see a vast planetwide ocean with spots of land dotting against the sea of blue. "Wow, it's pretty here," Rosenda said to be in wonder of the place.
"Indeed, our planet is beautiful. A blue pearl within the galaxy. Our meeting place is close," the leader said to see a small island with a metal building sticking out. The Lick lands on the sands of the island to see the Dazreme leader covered in soft flowing robes. "Welcome to our world, I am Oten. The head leader of the Dazreme people, come this way and I will show you our capital city," the tall lanky aquatic alien leads them into the building to see a lift that takes them deep down a tube right into the city.
"Look at all these fish here," Alisa said with wide-eyed wonder at seeing the beautiful ocean creatures swimming in the vast oceans of Reme.
"I wonder something. How are you an aquatic species and yet you can breathe air?" Vale asked with her curiosity getting the better of herself.
"Oh yes, we have special sacs within our torso that allow us to breathe out of the water for long periods," Oten said.
"Oh yeah, very much like Lungfish from our world. Very interesting," Olympia said
"We detected massive assembly forges which are made for shipbuilding in orbit and on the surface," Sela said.
"Oh yes, your Prophets wanted us to build shipbuilding factories for their war against humanity and Elites. Thankfully they were never used to that. Within our partnership, the Swords will gain access to these massive facilities allowing you to build up your fleets," Oten said.
"That is amazing, lucky us. We can gain back certain patterns and make improved models of our classic warships," Sela said as the Swords are going back on their proper unique designs to bring them to modern standards.
"Indeed, this line of work will be beneficial for both sides," Oten said as he revealed a massive underwater city built within the sunken forerunner structures. Everyone looks out the window to see the vast city along with the Sirens swimming in the water around the buildings.
"Don't worry, the interiors are dry but are moist to keep our skins damp," Oten said going into a huge complex to be within a vast room filled with shell-like pillars.
"Sir, you got our guests," a fellow stateman said to greet the otherworldly guests.
"Indeed. First, we need to head for the audience chamber. I need to show you something that will help you in your fight against the mad Forerunner," Oten said.
"What did you find?" Sela asked.
"Something called a Guardian," Oten said as everyone was confused by this.
"What is a Guardian?" Cortez asked.
"It's a powerful Forerunner machine which is used to safeguard entire solar systems with powerful weapons. To maintain their Mantle of Responsibility within the galaxy,
"Seems like it's just a means to control people and make sure they stay on top," Sela said as their blind faith in the Forerunner is misguided to worship a deeply flawed species.
"Yes, we will share the data and design of the machine. It will aid in your quest to stop the Forerunner's plan," Oten said as they went into the chamber to begin sharing intel about the Guardians among other things which involves their deep knowledge and know-how of the Forerunner's technology.
Within an hour, Yuri is waiting for Sela while the others are exploring the huge underwater city. "Thanks for waiting for me," Sela said as she licked her long tongue across his cheek in a cute sort of way.
"It's no big deal, you had a big job to do," Yuri said with her hand placed on his chest feeling his warmth.
"Yes it was necessary but I wanted to show you the lovely sights of this city," Sela said as they went through the air-sealed corridor with the wide glass showing off the beauty of Reme's oceans. Huge sea life cruises through the waters to brush along the seabed.
"Wonderful here but I have a nice blue warrior right next to me," Yuri flirts with this lovely woman feeling her face blushing a deep shade of purple against her bright blue face.
"Such boldness, my lovely human," she said to slightly rub his torso making his spine stiffen from her pleasant touching.
"I can't help myself. You are a good woman, who deserves the best in life," Yuri said.

Their meeting with the leader is a success with the Dazreme joining the new Concert of Worlds with another race Yonhet joining afterwards.
