Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book III. Last time, the League, Spyro, and Cynder arrived in National City. And after confirming with Brainiac 5 that yes, Spyro and Cynder are indeed real and will be staying in National City for a time, the team split up. Martian Manhunter took most of the League to the D.E.O. Headquarters while Supergirl agreed to show Spyro and Cynder around The Tower to meet up with the rest of her team. So, what awaits at The Tower? Read on to discover...

(Our scene resumes in the skies over National City, where Supergirl is soaring, followed by Spyro and Cynder. Pretty swiftly, they make a detour to a nearby office building with a suspicious watchtower-like section atop it and sneak in through a window to one of the offices, which from the door is clearly marked John Jones, Private Investigator. Supergirl uses the key Martian Manhunter gave her to open a pair of double door, revealing an elevator)

Spyro: (Noting where they are) So this is J'onn's office. It's... quaint, I'll give him that.

Cynder: Could use a little TLC, but still looks pretty good

Supergirl: Thankfully, the office isn't what we're here for. Just got to take the elevator up.

(Soon enough, Supergirl has the elevator working, and everybody is in, on their way up. Within a few moments, the trio exits into a room that's clearly a headquarters in progress.)

Supergirl: Welcome to The Tower. Home of the Superfriends.

Cynder: I'll admit, that name is still a little strange to me.

(And just like that, the rest of the titular team emerge, at first sending Spyro and Cynder into attack mode until they recognize the green face of Brainiac 5 from the hologram.)

Sentinel: It grows on you after a while.

Supergirl: Allow me to introduce everybody. You've already met Brainy.

Brainiac 5: A pleasure to finally meet you in person.

Supergirl: That's my sister, Alex. She goes by Sentinel.

Sentinel: Glad to meet you.

Supergirl: Then we've got Nia Nal, the Dreamer.

Dreamer: I've seen a lot of future events, but I could never have seen this coming in my wildest of dreams.

Supergirl: Kelly Olsen, the Guardian.

Guardian: Looking forward to working with you two.

Supergirl: And then there's Lena Luthor, no codename.

Lena Luthor: Don't need one. Somebody's got to be the public one here.

Supergirl: Real funny, since you're primarily a secret informant.

Lena Luthor: How better to draw suspicion away from myself?

Cynder: I can agree with that.

Supergirl: (Recounts the people in the room) Wait, I thought Winn was here.

(At this point, the sound of rushed footsteps overhead can be heard as Toyman runs into the room, slipping down the stairs in his excitement)

Toyman: Please tell me I didn't miss them!

Brainiac 5: You're right on time, Winn.

Supergirl: And this is Winn Schott, the Toyman.

Toyman: (Flustered) I've got to say, this is a real honor meeting you two.

Spyro: The honor's ours. (Addressing the group) It's a pleasure to meet all of you.

?: Kara, aren't you forgetting someone?

(And with that, a flash of blue light materializes at the top of the balcony, revealing the final member of the team, Mxyzptlk)

Supergirl: And that's Mxyzptlk, our expert on all things 5th Dimension.

Mxyzptlk: Please, call me Mxy. About everybody else here does.

Cynder: I'm sorry, did you say "5th Dimension"?

Supergirl: It's a really long story.

Mxyzptlk: And one we definitely can't explain in 750 words. (Winks at the writer, then looks at Spyro) Wait a second, don't I know you?

Spyro: I assure you this is the first time we've met.

Mxyzptlk: Really? I could have sworn I knew you from somewhere. Tell me, do you still hang around with the Gillman with the harpoon gun or the gremlin with golden guns?

Spyro: (Completely confused) Are you okay? (To Supergirl) I think your friend here has lost his marbles.

Supergirl: No, this is normal for Mxy.

Spyro: Oh. (Back to Mxyzptlk) Then no, I'm not the guy you think I am.

Mxyzptlk: Honestly that's a good thing. I still owe someone there five dollars and he's not the guy you want to piss off.

Cynder: (Trying to distract from that weirdness) Well, now that we've gotten that taken care of. We best start making our plan of action.

Brainiac 5: I couldn't agree more. I'll get us connected to the D.E.O., and we'll get started.

(And as Spyro, Cynder and the Superfriends set to work, our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for now. So we've got our team of supporting characters introduced. Yes, Mxyzptlk is going to break the fourth wall a few times in this story. If anybody's going to do it, it's the guy from the 5th Dimension. And also yes, I'm hinting that Mxyzptlk met the Skylanders version of Spyro, and may or may not have been a version of Kaos. It's a one-off joke, don't think to hard about it. Anyways, next time we start the quest in earnest. So, how's this going to start? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
