Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book III. Last time, Spyro and Supergirl started to work out why she was having trouble unleashing the Earth Element, believing it may come from Supergirl trying to suppress her natural Kryptonian powers to make this work, rather than trying to make them work in tandem. So they start trying to figure out what makes her super strength work, thinking channeling the Earth Element through that might do her better. Though she doesn't find anything right away. This had better work fast, because the Dark Knights are preparing to storm the D.E.O. facility. So, how's this going to go? Read on to at least start discovering.
(Our scene begins back with Spyro and Supergirl, who are still contemplating what it is that prompts her Kryptonian strength to activate. But the view on these two doesn't last long, as the scene immediately shifts back outside to Myriad, General Luthor, and Malefic J'onzz, as General Luthor pulls up a holographic screen on his Warsuit, apparently trying to connect to the D.E.O. security system. And being Lex Luthor, the developer of the technology the D.E.O. uses in this world, he's found his way in pretty quickly)
General Luthor: I'm in. The D.E.O.'s systems are fully in my command now.
Myriad: Excellent. Then we need to move swiftly. Malefic, you're my second.
Malefic J'onzz: Then let's go.
(As the Dark Knights prepare for action, we return to Spyro and Supergirl, who are continuing to meditate on their new task, but eventually Supergirl gets a little tired of waiting and stands up.)
Spyro: Everything okay, Kara?
Supergirl: I don't think this is getting anywhere. At least, not at this moment.
Spyro: It's the only plan we've got at the moment, so we have to at least try.
Supergirl: I don't disagree. But I think maybe I should just take a flight to clear my mind. Approach this fresh and all that.
Spyro: (Seeing the logic in that) Honestly, that might not be a bad idea.
Supergirl: Good to see we're on the same page. I'll be back in a few minutes.
(But at this point, the sound of the generators shutting down can be heard throughout the complex, gathering reactions with everyone, though in particular we focus in on Sentinel and Martian Manhunter in a corridor)
Sentinel: Did you forget to pay the electric bill, Director?
Martian Manhunter: We don't have an electric bill.
(Now the scene focuses on Cynder and Superman, with Superman descending from a vortex just as the power goes out)
Superman: Did we blow a fuse?
Cynder: Something's not right here. I've got a bad feeling about this.
(And sure enough, Cynder has good reason to be unsure, as we soon see the source of the blackout. General Luthor deactivated the power from his Warsuit computer)
General Luthor: Power's out. (Makes a couple more taps) And the security system is down.
Myriad: Perfect. Everything is going according to plan. (Draws her Kryptonite sword and Dark Gem shield) Now then, let's get to work. Malefic, make us an entrance.
Malefic J'onnz: Don't need to tell me twice.
(With that Malefic J'onnz charges forward with Myriad and General Luthor hot on his heels. And as Malefic J'onnz gets closer, he pulls back a punch, shapeshifting it into the fist of some massive Martian beast before arriving at the D.E.O. facility's entrance and punches the door clean off it's hinges as Myriad takes the lead. While the Dark Knights infiltrate, Spyro and Supergirl have heard the commotion and realize what's going in.)
Spyro: Sounds like we're in trouble.
(And sure enough, the sound of molecules vibrating at high speed can be heard as Flash phases through the door)
Flash: There you two are!
Supergirl: Barry, what's going on?
Flash: The Dark Knights have breached the facility!
Spyro: What?! How?!
Supergirl: (Putting it together) One of the Dark Knights is Lex Luthor.
Spyro: I'm not sure I follow.
Supergirl: This reality's original D.E.O. was a division of LuthorCorp.
Spyro: So he'd have the ability to take over the facility on a whim.
Supergirl: Exactly.
Flash: We need to get moving, chances are they're coming right after you and the others.
Supergirl: I'm not running in fear of them. And I know Kal is the same way.
Spyro: We'll fight if we encounter, but otherwise, our goal is to escape before they get the Element out of you.
Supergirl: I think I can live with that.
Flash: Then let's get going.
(And as the three take off through the compromised D.E.O., our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to conclude for today. So, the Dark Knights have breached the facility after the Element users. This could only end badly, knowing how the first two chapters have gone. But will it? Tune in next time to start finding out. Same time... same channel!
