Chapter 309: Sins of the Father…Dreams of the Daughter.

With how charged things were last time, we begin today right where we left off last time, with Doug's offer to his child, the first time he ever offered something like that to her in her life. Despite part of her wanting to hear those words from her father for most of her life, the look Doug had made the blond woman pause.

She saw how those around her looked uneasy before she cleared her throat." So, you're finally doing more than just trolling everyone? You really came here to fight Sieg?"

Doug snorted before he spat back," Hell no, I already fought him. I came here to do what I needed to end this joke for good."

James saw how casual Doug was before he took off his glasses." Doug…you fought Sieg and got away?"

Doug saw his former teammate's shock before he snickered." Even after all this time you still doubt me dude? Even if he wiped out Ben, Lacus, Ezan and the rest, he can't con a man with real instincts. If I'm being real I was going in ready to troll him and faked him out with my own clone for once thanks to one of my drinking pals. I got this "V-Day" asshole to sweat…that's better then cutting him. Astra widened her eyes before responding with," You…you're going to fight Sieg hear?"

"Damn it Astra, Higgs was supposed to tell you the plan!"

"Eh…I also told him to not get off track so its on him for not paying attention. Sieg and the whore clone of Lacus were bragging that they were the only ones who could be these "Six Dimensional" Assholes so I'm one more proving the common man can catch up to the elite.

I have been doing more then just getting drunk on one universe to another and while I don't give a damn about the details, I get that these assholes on the" High Table" became what they were from absorbing a hell of a lot of universe's at once to evolve. That's nothing special, I'll do that too! That's why I'm here! They are trying to slam the multiverse together to own everything right? I'm going to slam that energy into me instead, catch Sieg with his pants down, and kick his ass till he gives up this being god above all gods crap."

James saw the absolute conviction in his former teammate's eyes before he winced." To think…after all this time are plans aligned once more. But…how do you plan to take away from Sieg without him noticing?"

"I don't know what your plan was James…but I waited enough as it is. I'm going to cause the energy to go into me before he can have time to plan and end this."

James looked at the former member of Squad 7 with horror before he used all of his willpower to not become rattled." Doug…did you test what the reaction could be? You, you will jeopardize are own plan, and risk the collapse of not just are universe but the entire Multiverse!"

"Eh…long as there's still enough stuff to make beer out of it will still be better then what Sieg plans to do right? Might not be what a lot of others want but, as always, if you can't man up and get the job done, you don't get to say how things go."

Raymond saw the man that was still the official leader of the Equalizers was deadly serious before he grit his teeth." You serious man? I know if Sieg wins its game over but damn it we still got to try and save what's left! No matter how messed up Verguld was when we left are Universe, as long as there's a chance to save some Verguldian lives we still have to try!"

Doug eyed the other blond man before he raised an eyebrow." Wait…that you Raul? So, you cheated and tried to stop ageing too, eh? I get yah, everyone says they are at peace with getting old till they realize chicks won't give them ten seconds after seeing their bald spot."

Raymond saw Doug was being completely serious before he grasped his fist tightly." Raul's my dad man, I'm Raymond! You…you really have not paid attention for centuries eh?"

Doug blinked a few times before he snickered." Oh damn, been that long, eh? No offense dude, time is a different kind of thing when you're at where I'm at. Your old man is still ticking?"

"He was last time I checked Doug, but things are going to hell real damn fast! Are entire universe has Sieg's foot at every last person's throat!"

Astra nodded before adding," You may have just bailed on are universe old man but Sieg came down hard. He blew up your home-world of Katina just to make an example."

Doug took in hearing the world he grew up on was blown up and just snickered." Sucks for the common folk just trying to make do on Katina but that was not my home for lifetimes girl. Listen man, I know family still matters to you but you have to decide what's really important now. There's no room for conflicted crap right now."

As Raymond's eye twitched and Astra had her jaw drop James winced as he looked down." Doug…you kept saying you been "Keeping it real" so how could you have lost your heart so utterly?"

Doug spat on the ground before responding with," Oh my head's not up no sand James, I'm just keeping it more real than most are willing to handle! All of this is because people like Ben were trying to hard to make their dreams become real till it all blew up in there faces!"

Sonic grit his teeth before losing his usual cool and jabbing his finger at Doug." You don't get to say that when you're the one who blew up everything dude! You're the one who dragged everyone to hell! I always valued my freedom, but I never dragged anyone down my road with me!"

Doug blinked, saw Sonic's anger and snickered." You came back to Sonic? Hell they said you guys were lost to but you made it back with your own grit!"

Shadow grit his teeth before seething out," You really have not paid attention at all. Mobius has been lost for centuries now. Rouge…those Chaotix clowns and so many more were lost when the Scourge consumed Mobius!"

Robotnik nodded before adding," We had the" Luck" to be on planet ZDR helping Samus, when that planet got consumed to. But we just were " Lucky" enough that we got spat out and my defensive measures held!"

Sonic remembered Amy's last words before he glared at Doug." We were friends once Doug…but Amy, E-Omega, and so many others died because of what you kicked off! Don't you even care!?"

Doug's eyes looked bitter as he cracked his neck." I don't know what Ben and the others have sold you over the years…but I never did what I did to see anyone dead. It's never been personal Sonic."

Zero grit his teeth before taking out his Z-Saber." Well it feels personal when Higgs set up Bria with the Universal Church of Truth mavericks and caused the Bethal Kingdom to tear itself apart! X...and so many others I knew died because of that!"

"That so? Higgs worked with Sieg's toadies eh? Then I'm glad he's dead. But still...I knew Richard's wife was weak based on what Max told me when we were drinking together, but if she was that pathetic then sorry Zero but you guys reaped what you sowed letting that chick lead even as a figure head. Its not how I wanted it to go down for sure...but at the same time, I'd do it all over again because all of this is better when in the end, we will be really free! I,"

He was about to say something, till one of the toppled over pillars suddenly shot into Doug's face like a railgun fired it. Astra and those around her got into fighting stances, till the blond woman realized that the person who attacked her father, was his own former teammate, as she saw that James had lost all his composure.

While the impact only caused Doug to crack his neck, he did eye the other member of Squad 7 as James looked at him with raw hate before the Enji Master spat out," Is that all you can really say after everything that's happened Doug? Centuries of death and suffering is just a game to you? I spent years wondering how my former roommate who use to want to punch anyone being a bully would cause more suffering then any other person in the universe!

I lost family, friends, worlds because of the direct actions you caused Doug! Tell me…was it true that you invited Max to leave the universe with you? That you lured him and Richard, and caused them to be killed by Sieg, and in turn caused Ben, Lacus, and everyone they brought to be wiped out by him as well? Sieg found them because you attacked his property, all of this was because of what you did!"

Doug took a deep breath before he looked down." So…that is what happened eh? James…its true that I invited Max to leave. But even when we were on other tribes, I always had respect for the man. I offered Max a way out of being stuck in an endless game…Ben was the one who had to have him at his side forever because he did not trust anyone else! I was going to meet Max, but the "reception" I got pissed me off so I left to look around.

I did not tell Max to show up when he did, he came early on his own. And if Richard followed him, and then Ben and everyone else followed him after that, that's on them for being so hell bent on needing to end the war he started. Max wanted to be free, but if he stood by me earlier this would have went down differently."

Xehamaru could not help but snicker bitterly as he staggered up." I admit, out of all of Auro's teammates…you were a non-factor before I invaded Corneria. Elrond hear had his family ties to Magento, Lacus with the secrets of the Raystar family, Ezan and his ties to both Garma Kaiba AND Ansem Zeon and so many other major figures across the universe. But...but you, you were just a hot blooded martial artist from Katina who had learned some high-level attacks from Gouken but was just another foot soldier. And yet hear you are, even more callous than I am to former teammates.

It took my people being genocide by savages and those I cared about being thrown away like trash for me to hate the universe, so what could make you hate it even more? It seems that Brad Fowltror truly corrupted your soul past the point of even the Supreme Demon Lords."

Doug spat on the ground as he spat out," Did I ask what a has been tool like you thinks? It was not Brad who did what I did, it was my thoughts, even if he pushed me along. The fact that no one cared about what I had to say just because of my family past showed how rigged society always was, and why I had to break it completely! It was a society where I was never gotten the respect I deserved, where I was told where I belong, and that "paradise" is where I was just a good lap dog that existed to make suck up's happy! Doug suddenly grasped Xehamaru by the throat before his eyes glowed." You think you can judge me? I have the power now so I make the rules. I don't know how you lasted this long but you're never getting another shot!"

Xehamaru saw Doug charge up energy in his fist, before Crowley walked up and yelled out," Hey boss man, hold up a bit eh! Remember me? I gave you that drink you liked last year back on planet Brendok?"

Doug saw Crowley for a moment before he shrugged." Oh right, the dude who won the drinking contest eh? We got no beef Crowley, but you sure sucked picking who to be pals with."

"Oh bollocks…he's not my first choice mate but he's all I had to get out of being erased at the time if we are being real. These IV & C assholes are trying to rub us all out, that upside down asshole ATE MY TAILOR! If you're a man of your word, then I'm calling in the favor you owned me to spare him. But at the same time…did anyone care when my family was wiped out in the final showdown with Zannacross? Astra saw the passion in her father's eyes before she grasped her fist tightly." And if you go through with this…who the hell will be left? Will anyone who's not a god like you even be able to live in what's left?"

"I don't know but its still be more of a free place then what will happen if we let Sieg go down with this! Don't look like there's many choices at this point so maybe it sucks but that's all there is!"

James cleared his throat before countering with," Not quite Doug, we had are own operation going on. We too are attempting to redirect Sieg's power, but in a less direct way that won't tip him off instantly. The Multiversal Rebel Alliance has spread out to two other Gan Knot worlds like this one. We are all trying to rig these Tuning Fork towers to redirect the energy Sieg is using to "reformat" the Multiverse."

"Piff…that's your big plan? It's the same thing I'm doing only I have a better chance of not getting owned!"

"Its not just that! We are not taking the energy till Sieg is distracted, for we are rigging the towers to divert the energy at just the right time. To not get his or his inner circle's attention, we are having the commands be entered by counterparts of Ben from another universe."

Doug raised an eyebrow before uttering," Seriously? Bro's sending stand in's from other universe's to do the job?"

"We would have gone with Ben but we don't know if he's alive damn it! Even Mike would not be enough, it has to be someone that's almost a total match of Sieg."

"So these are other Ben's in this hero alliance or something?"

Doug raised a eyebrow as he saw James look behind him. Ever since the match between Astro Boy and Alison got hijacked, Benito had hidden in the corner. He transformed his body into a cube like shape and hid in a hole in the floor. Doug heard the bald version of his former teammate whimpering before he snickered." This some sort of joke?"

In an instant Doug was above the man who looked like his former friend, causing Benito to whimper." Is…is there anything I can help you with sir? I, don't mean any trouble!"

As Doug raised his fist Astra rolled her eyes." Seriously asshole? This guys' not Ben or Sieg, he's a version from another universe that has nothing to do with it. You really slug anyone who has their face?"

"Its not that Astra!" Doug spat out bitterly." He's a sellout sucking up to Sieg to cling on to his pathetic life."

James grit his teeth before cutting in with," Are you really this quick to judge Doug? The world we are on is made up of countless universe's being fused together…he's just one of billions that found their life suddenly up-heaved. Do you really damn anyone who does not instantly punch back? Have you really become so out of touch that you forgot not everyone has the godly power you have Doug? I was chilling in this universe's hell before I came here, I had some of the other guys I was chilling in carving a pocket of that hell just for us so no one would bother us. We can fight there and go all out without having any interruptions."

The red-haired man pressed on his codec before muttering," Can you read us Lord Genome? Misato? Have Hearts, Goku and Vegeta come over, we are going to need there help to smooth out this…bump in the road. The area is currently being jammed so tell them to arrive at sector DBX 300."

Doug raised an eyebrow, but before he could say anything Goku, Vegeta, and Hearts suddenly landed next to James thanks to Xeno Goku's instant transmission. Vegeta at once looked around before he grit his teeth." They caught on to us already? I don't sense anyone though."

Doug rolled his eyes before cracking his knuckles." Seriously? You think throwing in a few more fight monkeys is going to change anything?"

Astra sighed before throwing out," You can't sense my dad because he's one of those God's of Destruction that's power level can't be sensed dude."

Xeno Goku raised his eyebrow before responding with," Whoa…this is the guy you were talking about before James? The guy who broke your universe to become the devil?"

Doug snickered before he shrugged." Yup…that's me…and you're not the first Saiyan who thought he knew more about fighting then me."

Xeno Vegeta cracked his neck before uttering," I take it he's fought counterparts of us before?"

"Indeed." James uttered flatly." He killed the Goku and Vegeta of are universe when he broke there fusion and hit them into a black hole."

"That's all? Well…we will have to show how much harder we train, right Kakarot?"

Hearts eyed Doug carefully before he smirked." I heard you're a God hater such as myself? The name's Hearts, and it's a shame we could not have met earlier, we could have been allies."

Doug saw Hearts looked sincere before he snickered." I'm sure we could have had a few good drinks, but depends on what you wanted to put in its place."

The fallen Enji sighed before he closed his eyes." I tolerated Weil and his ilk because they were useful pawns…but their fate was always to die by my hands once they were no longer useful to me."

We did everything we could to prove are worth to the Terran Dominion, but we were caught in a power struggle between Emperor Valerian Mengsk and the usurper Emperor Arcturus Mengsk. Astra saw how confident her father looked, and realized he was baiting her before she grasped Gorr tightly and took a deep breath." Just one really. Do you have any regrets at where things are now?"

"Not just that. Are you sorry at all that the universe is how it is now? Just one step away from breaking to the point where nothing is left!?

"Things change girl. Some can't deal with that but that's Sure I would have done things differently. If I knew about all this Dark Multiverse crap I would have done something sooner to not make it be such a pain in the ass. But life's all about rolling with the punches girl. But if you mean do I regret doing what I did to the universe? Hell no. My "Pals" were going to never stop trying to screw the common man over till I made sure there would never be a " heaven" again. Maybe some would break down on always being on the run, but I always been on a journey. Don't ask me why alright? It's just who I am.

Traveling to new places, experiencing new things, meeting new faces and having good fights…and finding good places to chow down on if there's room for a bonus. Life is not something to throw away, and all those who do just want to throw away life needs to be humbled. His aura was like a living volcano of malice, but Astra just had her own aura flare up, and while it was not nearly as big as her father's energy she stood her ground." I don't care how extreme you get asshole, somethings you can't run away from no matter how hard you try, like screwing over your family! People don't forget, nothing gets forgiven, not from me!"

Astra swiftly had a blade of shadow come out of the ground, and Doug snickered as the blade chipped off a piece of his beard." I see you got a new sword since before Astra…but no blade's sharp enough to cut what I am!"

"We will see about that…Gorr is made to be a God Butcher sword that shuts down immortality!"

"Cool beans…but just like Ben…your still not strong enough to make it worth a damn on me! I see you become more of a demon, but that's still not a, huh?"

Just as Doug was about to fight back, he felt a shift in the air and raised his right arm and left foot at the same time, to parry strikes from Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta. He glared at the two Sayians before hissing out," You think this is my first fight? Please…I kicked the ass of so many of you Sayians that I sleepwalk through it! You're not as badass as you think…deal with it! He was about to fire Omega Beams form his eyes, till something suddenly slammed into his head. He saw it was a green orb before he saw Hearts had flown to the air, before the man with the visor had his own aura flare up." But this time they have me aiding them devil!

The leader of the core warriors and member of the Multiversal Rebel Alliance had a dozen more energy spheres form around him, before suddenly barraging Doug from all sides. While they do little more than itch there target, they slow him down long enough for Goku, Vegeta, and Astra to get a few more hits in.

He blew his child's brother away with his aura along with Tanjiro, Knuckles, Shiki, Bowser, Neku, Crash, Kaine, King Dedede, Raymond, and a few others that tried to attack him, before Hearts saw Doug glaring at him before he glared back." Why do you keep resisting? Don't you understand that this is for all you mortals' sake? Mortals should have the freedom to live as they desire. The desires that mortals hide in their hearts!"

Doug's muscles bulged before he suddenly caught one of the orbs and crushed it." You think you know me but you're wrong. Sonic shocked Doug by unleashed a wave of energy that caused the devil to wince. When Doug opened his eyes Sonic now had an atom cloud which closely resembled a nucleus atom and was about to say something, till Sonic suddenly moved fast enough to hit him.

As Doug coughed up blood, he parried Ultra Sonic's new blow, and saw that the hero from Mobius was leaving tiny trails of stars as he moved before he smirked." Not bad Sonic, clear you were not just sitting around chowing on chilly dogs."

"I had to push myself to save those that matter to me Doug. I'm glad Sally had some experience with this new power of mine to give me and Shadow some pointers. I…I could not save Amy…but no one else is going to die because of you!"

Shadow sprouted the black fleshy wings with red patterns from his own Hyper Doom Shadow state and grasped his fist." That's right…no one else is going to be lost because of you Fitter! 'I'll overcome every obstacle with this power! Doom Spears!"

As countless red and black energy spheres rained down on Doug, Zero once more transformed into his perfect form and yelled out," Your answering for what you did Doug! Z-END SLASH!"

As Doug caught Zero's slash, Xeno Vegeta wiped the blood off his cheek before he snickered." These mongrels fight well for Saiyan copycats but I think its time to show who the true super elite warriors are eh Kakarot?"

This caused him to be blasted by his own blast, causing Astra's own blast to hit him. Hearts grasped his fist before uttering," Now…do it now! Gravity Cage!"

Hearts focused his power to slow Doug down just as Xeno Goku powered up." Lets see if you laugh this off! God…Ka…ma…ha..ma…"

Doug sneered as his fist glowed with energy." I batted that so many times that, oh damn it!"

Xeno Goku used Instant Transmission to appear right behind Doug while yelling out," TIMES TEN!"

As the red energy beam erupted Xeno Vegeta to have his own energy to flare up." You will kneel to the pride of our race devil! Double Atomic Flash!"

The Super Saiyan Four raised his index finger, middle finger and thumb forward from both of his hands and fired a powerful discharge of hot green energy at his opponent.

At the same time Zero yelled out," Final Zero Shine!"

The four beams all collided into Doug, smashing him into the ground. Astra saw Doug was struggling to get up before she smirked." Time to own up old man! Ghosting your own kid, and making everyone's life hell, you're owning up to all of it!"

Doug's eyes glowed red before he bellowed out," I OWN NOBODY NOTHING ASTRA!"

He suddenly unleashed a surge of power that blew away everyone's attacks and caused a shock-wave that knocked everyone to the ground. Astra coughed a bit before she spat out," Damn it, he was not fighting seriously till now? That, huh?"

Astra felt the air getting hotter till she looked up and saw that Doug and emerged from the fire. All of his clothing had been vaporized, and he had a blood red aura around him. His skin was even more stony like, his teeth was more fang like and his hair had become Translucent white with light blue tinges, and his look was furious enough to make even the most hardened warriors flinch before James winced." No…you really have become completely one with the Satsui no Hado entirely Doug?"

Doug yelled out," I'm so damn tired of everyone always trying to put stuff on me!

In order to obtain the freedom I desire...if its the only way I'll take freedom away from the whole damn Multiverse! You guys are free to try and protect other's freedom...if you can keep me from having the freedom to keep moving forward! As long as we each hold unbending desires then fighting is not going to be avoided. So again...put them up or shut up!

I joined Gouken and the Enji to get back at my old man to. I gave friendship and all that crap a try too. But that's why I'm trying to spare you the lies I went through! Even if somehow you and the others stop Sieg with a miracle super Multiverse sword and save everyone in the Multiverse, what you think will happen? You will just be where I was after we took down Zannacross! You will just be as someone else's tool with no respect!

And that's because they will always try and make you be something they are not and only do it in a passive aggressive way, saying they are your" pals." But we don't want to put up with stale ass nobodies that we have nothing in common with, we only want to chill with people we like! The weak have to compromise, but they are bitter at those who don't have to. But folk like us don't, not if we don't fall for the lies. I want to be true to myself, no more, no less. And I don't care if I have to fight everyone else…I'll never back down…never!"

Astra struck the ground, before a pillar of ice erupted up around Doug. As he looked frozen for a moment, his aura caused cracks in the ice by the moment. As his face came free he glared at his daughter before hissing out," You think something like absolute zero is enough to slow me down? No child of mine is going to strike at me like a god damn Enji!

Astra winced as her father turned the Satsui no Hado into a powerful flame before blitzing through her attacks and smashing into her chest. The flames consumed her till she was as bare as her father in moments, before Doug grasped her by the head and lifted her up." You're a damn good fighter Astra…but I'm still been doing this a hell of a lot longer! And the blunt truth is that you're a devil girl, I'm the devil! I smashed through billions that want to take me down…your just the next in line!

Sip of Calamity!"

He slammed her to the ground and slammed his foot on her chest. His right hand surged with energy, but as he prepared to strike Astra grit her teeth." And you may have thought you did not have a toll to pay for that list, but your owning up to it now! Grip of Murder!"

As James, Axl, Shadow, and others unleashed enough projectiles to distract Doug for a second, his kid grasped his arm, and unleashed a mark that bound him to the malice and hate of his victims.

As Doug felt the curse surge through his arm with the pain and suffering of all those who he had killed, he laughed madly. "Nice try but, I don't care if everyone I ever killed is trying to get back at me. It's not enough to due me in, because I'm stronger then all the lame asses that are still to weak to be on their own! Even that's not enough to, huh? GUH!"

While Doug was about to try and attack Astra, suddenly a metal flower burst out of his hand. He felt weaker on his left hand as more flowers bloomed before James suddenly yelled out," Then how about seeds of the Death Plant then Doug? Even a " God" can't completely shrug off having there energy drained."

"Damn it…when the hell did you throw that at me? Wait…that's what the random sucker punch was for with the pillar?"

"I needed to distract you with something bigger and give the seeds time to grow."

"You always did like sneaking around. But your seeds have jack on me and, huh?"

Light erupted out of his former teammate to form energy wings before Doug realized James had unleashed the Quincy Vollständig skill before crying out," That's just the start! Sternenstaub!"

James gathered and combined several of the energy feathers generated by his Vollständig into an enormous Heilig Pfeil with a tip in the shape of a Quincy Zeichen projectile and fired it at his former friend. Doug tanked the projectile before his eyes glowed." No matter how many arrows you try your never going to, GUH!"

To his shock a sliver arrow suddenly shot up his foot, before he suddenly felt pain all over his body. James winced before uttering," That was also part of the set up…but this arrow of " Still Sliver" mixed with your blood will scramble your power, however briefly! No matter what you done...I will make you face the pride of a Quincy Doug!"

"You never had my blood you, huh?"

Astra smirked as she shrugged." Hey…happy to help take you down a peg dad."

Doug felt the combined spells starting to make his legs buckle before veins formed on his forehead once more." No…NO MATTER WHAT I'M NOT BACKING DOWN!"

Hearts then got above Doug before he powered up and unleashed his own transformation to" Super Hearts." As his hair spiked up and gave him a unique, shadowy-purple aura he grasped his hand." I just wanted to liberate you from this lack of freedom - but you all shone and surpassed your limitations. That's why I've come to appreciate mortals. I'll show you the depth of my appreciation!

Gravity Finale!"

Hearts battered Doug by summoning a multitude of Gravity Cages from the ground, which merge into an even more enormous golden cage in the sky before plummeting down onto Doug. As he was pressed down he yelled out." No…even piling all this crap won't make me yield!

Haikai Shoryuken!"

Doug prepared to erase the Gravity Finale, only for Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta to come diving down from the sky as Xeno Goku yelled out," Oh you will see how much pressure we can throw out! Now Vegeta!

Limit Breaker Double Ultimate Dragon Fist!"

Both Sayian's cried out in unison as side by side, Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta each launch a Limit Breaker Dragon Fist, sending two golden dragon constructs crashing into Doug's fist. Doug was pushed back a bit before he yelled out," Even the two of yah together can't,"

In a flash Sonic hit him in the head with his Infinite Mass Spin Dash while Shadow hit Doug in the gut with his Hyper Doom Blast attack while yelling out," All of us will take you down!"

Zero grasped Doug's arm with his energy whip as well before yelling out,"This is for X, Douglas, and everyone else that suffered because of you!"

Doug was smashed into the ground and realized he could not get up before Astra took a deep breath." You tried to dismiss me, Aqua, and everyone else's feelings for so long old man. But your check is due as a father, as an Equalizer, and as a real man!

This is for Aqua… Cocytus…SHORYUKEN!"

Doug saw his kid punch her with an ice infused fist, and saw the ghost of Aqua strike him to before he winced." Damn it all…you're suppose to be my kid…its one thing to do your own thing but why are you so hell bent on getting in my way!?"

"Because you're being a dumbass and I know you can do better! If you don't see it yet then I'm trashing you till you wake up to it! SO WAKE THE HELL UP DAD!"

"GUHA!"

With everyone's help the attacks smashed Doug into the ground so hard that it cracked the entire planet. The impact lasted ten seconds, before Astra swept some dust out of her eyes and snickered." That's more then ten seconds, I won!"

Doug coughed up blood before he snickered." You really do remind me of me Astra. Well…that's that."

Aqua's Lingering Will got next to Doug and looked at him with sorrow." Doug...I know how bitter you are about...everything. I won't tell you to embrace what they believe in, just to have faith in something. I gave up to...that's why I gave up on life. I took it for granted. I thought I had nothing in life to lose. There's no deeper sadness than discovering all that you knew is gone. The grief in this place is too much to fathom. That's enough. I can't keep on wishing for the past, but please Doug, a future where its possible for someone to be happy should not be impossible to dream of right?"

Doug saw Aqua's dismay before he sighed." Well...if nothing else...I been going down this path for lifetimes and am not happy so...trying to change it up a bit can't hurt to much."

As Aqua smiled, James eyed Doug and saw his former teammate looked detached before he grasped his bow tightly." So…this means your going to accept are terms Doug?"

Doug saw everyone was eyeing him tensely before he laughed." I made a bet with my kid, and no matter how hard I was trying to kick her ass I'll still honor it. "

Dark Schneider, Beetlejuice, and the others who were tagging along woke up before Dark Schneider belched and threw away his beer before he shrugged." So we are changing the plan then dude?"

"Was my mouth busted?" Doug replied." I said what I said. But if it's a dumbass plan I'm not taking the fall for it."

James sighed before he dusted off his glasses." Well it's not a fool proof plan but it is the best we have. And if you're working with us it does improve are odds. Its nothing complex, we were going to distract Frieza, Cell, and the others in there games while some of us get Benito into the Tuning Fork to sabotage things for the moment of truth."

Doug saw the counterpart to Ben hiding under a rock before he rolled his eyes." Between depending on me and depending on a version of bro who's even more of a wuss?"

"Well as they say…you play with the hand you have Doug. All Benito has to do is get inside the tower and we will guide him to do the rest."

Benito whimpered before uttering," Please sir I'm not fit for this! I…I am a Friar that does the lord's work, not interfere with it!"

Doug snickered before spitting back," I don't know what your hooked up on but you really are down with just being a tool for life dude?"

"I…my will is just to serve…they…they made it painfully clear what happens to those who don't know their role…every second I must count my blessings that I was spared that fate."

James nodded before he walked over." I understand why you think that. You have few cards to play and just want to survive. But, you do have more cards if you work with us. We are here to resist and help those like you who had no options, till now."

Benito looked at everyone before retorting with," You…you really will protect me? You…you can defy them?"

"Not all of them…but enough of them if we do this right."

Benito took a deep breath before he nodded." I…I know President Valentine and Lord Frieza never intended to keep there promises to me but, hope was all I had. If…if there's room for more than…I'll do what I can."

"Then let the games begin."

Astra saw the resolve in James's eyes before she saw Doug look distant and glared at her father bitterly." You better not screw us over old man. I don't care if you teleport, if you try and screw us over I will make you pay!"

Doug spat on the ground as he leaned up." Astra, I may have trolled yah and attacked yah but did I ever lie to yah? You won, so I'll honor my word. Just give me someone to own that I don't have to hold back on and don't screw the plan up."

James shrugged before retorting with a wry," Since my plan did take you down Doug I think I can still throw out a few decent ones. I…never thought we would be teammates again and I still don't forgive you but….we don't have time to be picky."

Doug eyed James before he took a deep breath." Look man…no matter how much we don't see eye to eye, I hate Sieg and all this crap he's pulling even more so I'm sure not helping him. I thought you guys would slow me down but if you're going to be this much of a pain in the ass about it then lets do this."

James nodded before he closed his eyes." I'm not sure you can ever be forgiven Doug...but trying to atone is the only way that's even possible...so its time to go down that path...past the never ending darkness."

Doug's " full power" was inspired by Oni from Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition with some of the new moves Akuma got in Street fighter 6.

A bit of a shorter chapter but wanted to focus on Doug and the others resolve things. Been…impacted by recent events so the chapter came to reflect my thoughts. Remember when I said I was depressed because of recent events when I started Cosmic Wars Omega? Well…now it just became so…SO much worst…god damn it…I don't think I'll ever have faith in humanity again.
