A/N: I'll be honest, I don't know where I'm going to take this story. I never really watch the black and white anime series. Mostly because I couldn't stand Iris, she was such an annoying character.

Chapter 1: The Journey Begins

It was the middle of the day, and the three Royal Woods citizens looked around them to see they were out in the wilderness. "So this is another world," Lincoln said looking around.

"I guess," Sam said, looking around as well. Soon they saw some Starlys' fly over them.

"I guess we should go to this Nuvema Town," Lincoln said happily, before looking around confused. "So which way do we go?"

"This way," Lucy said, pointing in a direction while looking at her phone. "Arceus did tell us our phones did have a map so we didn't get lost."

"Oh right," Sam and Lincoln said in unison. Both pulled out their phones and looked at the map.

"Well let's go see this Professor Juniper," Sam said, with the two siblings agreeing. Lucy was in front, with Sam and Lincoln following behind her. As they walked, there was an awkward silence in the air. Lucy was looking at her phone leading the way, while Sam and Lincoln looked at the scenery around them.

"So…I know you said Luna was depressed," Sam started awkwardly, looking towards the Loud siblings. "But what has she been doing?"

"Well she hasn't left her room for the last couple of days," Lincoln said sadly, thinking about his sister. "Luan said she heard her crying every night for the last couple of days."

"I really hurt her, huh," Sam said in a quiet depressed voice.

"Don't beat yourself up too much," Lincoln said, while moving closer to her to rub her back in comfort. "You can't control who you love, or don't love in this case. Luna will get better in time. For now, just try to focus on our adventure right now."

Sam bent down and hugged him while smiling. "Thanks Lincoln, you're a kind guy," she said in a grateful voice, before letting him go. "You know, you kinda remind me of my brother Simon."

"You have a brother?" Lincoln asked curiously. However, before she could answer, Lucy spoke up, getting their attention.

"We're here," she said, looking up from her phone. The two behind her looked where Lucy was and saw a small town in front them. "By the way, I've been using my phone to check in on the family," she said as she started walking into the town.

"Really?" Lincoln asked surprised, catching up to her. "What's happening?"

"Sigh, nothing," the little goth replied. "It's still night there and everyone's still sleeping."

"I guess that makes sense," Sam commented. "I mean, we were all sleeping when Arceus summoned us."

As they walked through the town, they greeted any townspeople as they headed towards the Professor's lab. Soon they made it to their destination and walked inside.

"Hello?" Lincoln said walking inside. "Professor Juniper? Are you here?"

"Hello!" A cheerful voice replied, coming from the backroom. Soon a woman walked into the room. She had fair skin, green eyes, and poofy honey-colored hair. She wears a pale greenish-blue lab coat and a white blouse, along with a short green skirt and athletic white shoes with red stripes. She also has red rectangular earrings in both of her ears. "You must be the new trainers Sam, Lincoln, and Lucy!"

"Yeah," Sam said, trying to ignore the headache she was experiencing. "We uh, we came to get our starter Pokemon,"

"Of course, follow me!" The professor said as she led them to another room. The three followed her, while all fighting off the headache they were feeling.

"You are very lucky Lucy," Professor Juniper said, looking back at the goth. "Usually the earliest someone can get a trainer license is ten years old. However, you have an exception to get one at nine years old."

"Thank you," was all Lucy could reply, rubbing her forehead.

They finally got to the room and on a table inside, were three pokeballs. "Here we are," Professor Juniper said standing in front of the table. "Inside each of these pokeballs are starter Pokemon. Going from right to left, we have Tepig, Snivy, and Oshawott. So who wants to pick first?"

The group of new trainers looked at each other, not knowing who should go first.

"You two pick first," Sam said to the siblings.

"Then you go first Lucy," Lincoln said, nudging her forward.

"Alright," Lucy said, walking towards the table. She stopped in front of the table and looked between the three pokeballs. After thinking a little, she reaches out and grabs one of them. "I'll take Oshawott," she said, grabbing its pokeball and walking back.

"I guess it's my turn," Lincoln said walking up to the table. Just like his little sister, he spent a few seconds looking between the remaining pokeballs. "I'll pick Tepig," he said, grabbing its pokeball.

"Well I guess I know who I'm getting," Sam said with a small smile. She walked up to the table and grabbed the last pokeball. "I get Snivy," she said walking back to the others.

"Excellent! Then take these as well!" Professor Juniper said holding out three red devices.

"Oh, we don't need those," Sam said with an awkward smile.

"Yeah, our phones have the pokedex app on it," Lincoln continued, holding up his phone.

"Really?! That's wonderful," the professor told them happily, setting the devices down. "Then let me give you my number in case you need any help." After they all exchanged numbers, the three trainers left the lab and started to leave the town.

"You guys got headaches back there too right?" Lucy asked the others, once they were out of the town.

"Yeah, what was that?" Lincoln asked, rubbing his forehead.

"I think that was the result of Arceus filling our heads with information," Sam replied with some discomfort. "Now that I think about it, what are we going to do about money?" Suddenly all three were struck with another bolt of pain in their heads.

"Again?" Lincoln said with pain, before his eyes widened. He then took off his backpack and looked in a pocket on the side. Inside he found a wallet with money and a bank card. He looked to the others, to see they found the same thing.

"When Arceus said it gave us gear, I wasn't expecting money and a bank account," Lucy said looking at the wallet.

"Well that's one problem taken care of," Lincoln said, putting the wallet into his pants pocket. "Now we just need to know what to do next." They then felt another surge of pain.

"I know it's still early, but how about we set up camp and take it easy for the rest of the day?" Sam suggested, still holding her head.

"Sounds good, but do we-" he started, stopping feeling another surge of pain. "Okay, we do have sleeping bags."

"Tents as well," Lucy added, holding her head in pain. "Why does getting this information hurt?"

"Let's set up camp, then I can make something that might help," Sam informed them.

Both nodded and all three looked for a place to set up camp. Once they did, they set up their tents. Which surprised them since they never set up tents before. They then realized this was more information given to them by Arceus. With tents up and a campfire made, Sam started to use a kettle she had and made tea with something in her bag. Once it was made, she got the cups each of them had and poured some tea in all of them.

"Careful, it's still hot," Sam told them, handing them the cups. "Either take small sips or wait for it to cool down."

"Thanks Sam," both said, taking the cups. Both took small sips and started to feel a little of the pain fade.

"It's bitter, but is helping the pain," Lucy said, taking another sip.

"How did you make this or know it would help?" Lincoln asked, giving her a confused look.

"More information from Arceus," Sam said, tapping her head before taking a sip from her cup. "It's a special tea that's supposed to help headaches and migraines." The three sat around the fire in silence, just drinking their tea staring in the fire. "This doesn't feel real," Sam commented, breaking the silence.

"Yeah, it feels like I'm going to wake up in my bed any moment," Lincoln added.

"We left our family, friends, and whole world," Lucy said, looking into her tea.

Lincoln then grabbed Tepig's pokeball off his belt and looked at it. Sam and Lucy looked at him curiously. "I said I would help," Lincoln said, smiling at the ball in his hand. "I guess I should start by greeting my new partner."

He then gave it a little toss, it opened and a small orange and black pig came out. "Hi Tepig, I'm your new trainer Lincoln," he said with a smile.

"Hi Lincoln!" Tepig replied happily in a female voice. The three trainers stared shocked at the Pokemon, hearing it speaking English.

"Did Tepig just talk?" Lucy asked in a stunned voice.

"But I thought Pokemon couldn't speak like humans?" Sam questioned, equally stunned.

The three felt another surge of pain, before learning what was going on. "Arceus gave us the ability to understand Pokemon," Lincoln said with a sigh, taking another drink of his tea.

"Wait! Can you understand me?!" Tepig asked, shocked.

"Yes we can," Lincoln replied, smiling down at his Pokemon. "It's a messy story, for now let's just get along." Tepig nodded and started to nuzzle up to him.

"I guess we should do the same," Sam said looking at the little goth. Lucy nodded and both tossed their pokeballs, releasing their Pokemon. Out of Sam's was a green plant serpent, while Lucy's had a blue and white otter with a seashell on its chest.

"Hey Snivy, I'm Sam, your new trainer," the rocker greeted, bending down to it.

Snivy looked its trainer up and down, before letting out a small huff. "Her clothes are horrible, but a nice figure," Snivy remarked in a posh feminine voice. "Perhaps I can get her to wear something more suitable,"

"What's wrong with my clothes?!" Sam asked the Pokemon slightly angry. While she didn't pick them, she didn't hate them.

"What's right with them?" Snivy countered, not looking at her trainer. Before realizing her trainer understood her. "Wait! Can you understand me?"

"Yes I can," the blonde replied, frowning at her.

"Well that's great!" The Grass Snake Pokemon said happily, climbing onto her shoulder. "Now I can tell you all the things you should be wearing! I'm thinking a white sundress, red high heels, with a wide brim sun hat!"

"Why do you care what I'm wearing?" Sam was taken aback by her Pokemon's sudden attitude change.

"Because you're my trainer," Snivy replied as if that explained everything. "I want my trainer to look beautiful while we battle our opponents."

"Anyone want to trade?" Sam asked, looking at the Loud siblings.

"Hello Oshawott, I'm Lucy," the nine year old greeted in her monotone voice.

"You were right in picking me," Oshawott replied in a cocky male voice. "With me on your team, all who face us will bow before us."

"Why are you talking like a cartoon villain?" Lucy questioned the Sea Otter Pokemon. "Or like a cartoon teenage boy going through an Emo phase?"

"What are you talking about?" Oshawott asked, striking a Jojo's bizarre pose. "I am just saying that together, we will unlock the darkness that is deep within me!"

Lucy stared at the Pokemon for a few seconds, before turning to Sam. "I'm open to trading," Lucy said.

"What?! No Mistress!" Oshawott cried, clinging onto Lucy's leg. "You're the only one who can help me tap into my inner darkness!"

"Oh hush dear," Snivy said, moving to stand on top of Sam's head. "You have nothing to fear. With me by your side, I will make you into a princess on the battlefield!"

Lincoln and Tepig were trying to hide their laughter at the new trainers with their Pokemon. "Well, I'm going to cook us something to eat," Lincoln said, still trying not to laugh.

"You can cook?" Sam asked surprised, ignoring her Snivy talking from the top of her head.

"Before we came here, I could cook simple things," Lincoln replied nonchalantly. "However, Arceus has given me more knowledge on how and what to cook."

"Can I help?" Tepig asked her trainer excitedly.

"Sure," Lincoln replied, smiling at the Fire Pig Pokemon.

"While the young man cooks, let's talk about your hair," Snivy said, looking down at her hair. "I like the streak of blue, but it could be better. Maybe if we braid it? Oh! Oh! Maybe a nice colorful bow!"

"Fear not Mistress!" Oshawott replied, striking another pose. "I will never leave your side! Even if my darkness consumes me, my loyalty will always be to you."

"This is going to be a long journey," Sam commented in a tired tone and sigh. She ignored Snivy, still talking on top of her head.

"Yes it is," Lucy replied, staring at Oshawott still holding the pose.
